Aidan has done it.

He has defeated the Lord of Terror himself. To make sure he never comes back, he plucked out the soulstone from his head. When he did, he saw the demon changing into something else.

It was a human! Not just any human...

It was his younger brother, Albrecht.

"B-Brother?" he suddenly spoke.

"Albrecht..." Aidan kneels down before him.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize. It wasn't your doing, but the archbishop's. He was the one who planted this stone into your head, so that the demon known as Diablo can take over your body and wreck havoc all over the lands."

Albrecht can't help but smile a little on this turn of events. His older brother is one of those chosen to save him and slay the demon at the same time. Despite feeling his life is about to end, he extends his hand and his brother grabs it in response.

This is the last time they're going to be together. After a few seconds passed, Aidan can feel Albrecht's hand is losing its grip on life, so he immediately puts it down gently and saw his eyes have no more signs of life on them.

Albrecht is dead.

At least he's now in peace, and as a sign of respect, Aidan closed his eyes. Standing up from the ground, there was only one loose end: Diablo's soulstone.

The battle isn't over yet. The demon is slayed, but he only gained form from possessing a host. His own brother became an example. Aidan immediately thought of putting the object to his own head to contain the Lord of Terror inside him forever.

However, there was a risk that if he had done something like this, he might end up becoming a new host just like what happened to Albrecht. With precaution, he dropped the stone to the ground and stabbed it with his sword below the ground.

The stone has been shattered, ending the terror once and for all.

Author's Note: Just an alternate ending for the Warrior aka Aidan in the first Diablo video game. What do you think? It's my first fanfic, so don't review negatively on this story.
