A one shot that came to me a while back (actually the 'Frank getting attacked part' came to me). Figured I could right this fast. This is the work of less than an hour. This might be the start of a series of one shots.

Joe sat back in the van watching, waiting. Waiting for Frank to either come out or signal him. The van was parked on the edge of the parking lot of a ten story tall labratory/hospital.

Never a good combo.

There had been rumors of illegal drugs being passed through this lab/hospital. So naturally, the Hardy Boys had been called in to check it out.

Now, if only Frank would hurry up, Joe fumed. How long does he need?

Frank had gotten an internship at the lab. Wearing a white lab coat, he went about his 'job' all day.

"Mr. Johnson, how's it going?"

Frank looked up at the use of his undercover name. "It's going very well, ma'am. Though, I might end up staying late, to get everything done."

"I'd help you, but I have plans tonight," the woman said. "And everyone else has already left."

"I'll be fine. Another hour or so and I'll be headin' home."

"Alright. Good night."

"Good night." Frank watched her leave. He didn't leave the window until he saw her car leave the parking lot. "Alright, now where are those papers?"

Frank skipped all the places he had been into that day.

"I was not allowed in Dr. Smith's office. So, I'd better check there first."

Frank hurried to the office. It was a good size. With a desk, two three draw filing cabnets, and two extra chairs.

The filing cabnets revealed nothing.

He was about to head back out, when a flash of metal caught his eye. Hidden in the corner, was a door.

Quietly, Frank slipped in. There was a large room with a long table down the middle. On the table were a bunch of computers. Each computer was sitting with its back to another computer's back.

Jackpot.

Frank got onto the first computer, grateful that there was no password required. Everything about the drug dealing (who it was from, who it was for, where it was now, and all the money involved) was sitting on those computers.

Taking out a flashdrive, Frank downloaded enough to sentence everyone shut down the computer and went to get up.

He didn't even know what hit him.

Joe finally couldn't wait any longer. He texted Frank.

Three texts later, Joe was sneaking into the lab. 'Where do I even start? He said he couldn't go into a certain office. So, I'll check that one.'

Once in Dr. Smith's office, he heard voices. He found the door slightly ajar.

Peering in, he saw two men talking in low tones over a computer. Frank was no where to be seen.

The men turned off the computer and headed for the door.

Joe ducked behind the desk, completely hidden in the darkness. Once the men were gone, Joe snuck into the room. Looking around, he noticed a light coming from the other side of the computer table.

Walking over, he saw Frank on the floor, a digital clock not too far away.

Joe shook Frank's shoulder.

Frank groaned. "Where am I?"

"The lab. Are you okay? They ambushed you, didn't they?"

Frank nodded, wincing at the pain. His eyes fell on the clock.

"Joe, do you have a flashlight with you?"

"Yeah," Joe replied, getting worried.

The clock was counting down, that was certain. But the light revealed the wires and tampering that had happened to it.

"Can you dismantal it?" Joe asked.

"I think I can."

5:00 . . . 4:59 . . . 4:58 . . . 4:57

"Too easy," Frank said, removing the bomb mechanisim from the timer.

"Do you have proof against these guys?"

"I did." Frank walked over to the computer he had use earlier. "And I still do." He held up tne flash drive.

"Then let's go bust these crooks."

Both boys ran all the way to the van.

Once seated, Frank called their Dad. "Mission accomplished."

How was that? Comments/reviews would be helpful. I've been practicing. Does it show?
