AN: Hello there everyone! ThatOneGuy13 here! Wow, what a cliché thing to say in an author's note, but that's all I can think of. This here is just a little something I had in mind for a bit that wasn't related to Rhythm of a Hero.

And speaking about that, sorry for the delay on the new chapter, I've been kinda busy lately. I've been going out a lot and haven't really been home all that much, so my bad. Rhythm of a Hero is getting the new chapter tomorrow with a rewrite of the previous chapter as well, I feel like I underperformed in writing it. The previous chapter also didn't get any reviews but twice as many viewers than normal which I thought was a bit odd, but I digress.

Anyways, enjoy this random thing I made.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Her fingers, slender and disobedient, knocked on the new, yet stained oak door that sat at the end of the hallway. Her face was barely visible against the dim lighting of the moon that illuminated the dark little corner she was currently in. A box of sweets in one hand, gotten from the hidden stash in her room consisting of the same item. Pink lips turned slightly downwards from the nervousness that arose inside her. She takes a sweet from the box in her hand and bites down on it, hoping that the taste of the treat would help her calm her tingling nerves. Her eyes sheepishly looking at the door in front of her, not observing, but staring, waiting for an audible queue.

Kyoka Jiro facepalms with a sigh.

Before embarking on her endeavor to get where she was, she stood in her room alone, tuning some of her musical instruments to help past the time, hoping that sleep would soon come to her, but with a full mind, sleep was nearly impossible for the rocker girl.

Now, you may be wondering what was plaguing our favorite usually non-caring and aloof punk girls' thoughts, and the answer to that is simple; Her love life or lack thereof to be specific. Coming to U.A had changed her view in this subject, opening a door of interest to the world of romance. Seeing how most of the guys in her class fawn over her female peers at any given moment, especially that little grape Mineta. But therein lies the problem, she didn't receive any fawning herself. Now, she wasn't really fond of receiving such attention from guys, as all the girls in the class weren't either. It was disgusting and perverted, but just knowing that none the guys found her attractive in physical regard made her feel unwanted and self-conscious. This is how it always was, now that she thought about it, her entire life she'd never gotten a boyfriend or a romantic confession of any sort. And sure, she could try and hook up with some of the guys in her class, some were undeniably attractive, but their personalities were all over the place and just wouldn't make for a good relationship at all. Plus, she didn't really have any experience in the flirting department thanks to what was mentioned before, so there wasn't really a good place to start unless they came to her first.

So, to clear her mind of things she thought she should take a walk down the moonlit halls of her dormitory building with a box of sweets to keep her company, get some fresh air maybe. At some point in her late-night stroll, lost in thought, she had thought about the green beanstalk known as Izuku Midoriya. She didn't know what led her to have thoughts of the boy, but the more she thought about him, the more appealing he became to her. The two had somewhat connected over the last couple months thanks to her finding out they have a similar musical taste, surprisingly enough. And so, slowly but surely, they had made a decent friendship. She didn't really know much about him though and vice-versa, and the two didn't talk all that much compared to how much he talks with Ochaco Uraraka, so she couldn't really see themselves dating anytime soon. Then, out of sheer coincidence, she ended up right in front of his doorstep. And for some reason, her hand had involuntarily started moving, and before she realized what was happening, she had knocked on his door, leading us to where she is now.

'What am I even doing here?'

This was the question that now invaded her thoughts. she didn't know why it did, she didn't know why she had knocked, she didn't know why she had suddenly gotten nervous thinking about the boy opening the door, and she didn't know why she was disappointed that the door didn't actually open. All these questions stuck to her as she continued to stand in the desolate hallway until she heard something down the dimly lit hallway. The sound would usually be too low for other people to pick it up, but thanks to her quirk amplifying all noise she managed to barely hear it. It sounded like a whisper, so she tried to decipher it.

"…Kyoka"

Terror. It's the one word that could best describe the girl's emotions right now. Such a haunting yet soothing voice emanated from the other end of the long hallway. It was too dark to see clearly, but she could make out a shadowy outline at the end of the corridor.

"Oh, Kyoka." It repeated, sounding ever so ominous.

Kyoka was not having it, remembering all those horrid horror movies ghosts and demons that terrified her to no end. Maybe it was that she as in the middle of the night, alone in the dark, but this caused her to panic and do the only sensible thing, in her fear-ridden mind at least.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.

She pounded on the door in front of her, praying to whatever god out there to please grant her passage to safety.

"I'm up, I'm up!" The voice of the beanstalk mentioned before came from inside the room. "P-Please, give me a second!"

She didn't have time to wait, so she just kept pounding at the wooden door. Soon enough, it opened, granting her entry. She forcefully pushed herself into the room, knocking the poor boy back onto his bottom. She slammed the door behind her and locked it for good measure.

Midoriya looked at her in confusion. Just what the hell was Kyoka doing here he wondered. She seemed panicked, her rigid form covered the entire door, quirk and all, seemingly out of fear it would get knocked down if she didn't push it back with all her might.

Meanwhile back in the hallway, a very tired Momo saw everything that had just happened. She had no clue as to what she had just witnessed, but being sleep deprived made her mind not really care as to why her friend just entered a random room in sudden panic, so she decided to walk back to her room for some beauty sleep…

Back in the room, Kyoka was breathing heavily, in an attempt to relax her fearful self. "Ok, ok, you're ok." She told herself. "It was just your imagination, nothing to worry about, ghosts aren't real."

Midoriya wasn't convinced she believed herself, but that really wasn't the problem here. What had just happened? why was Kyoka here? Why was she so scared? All these questions bugged Izuku. He needed answers, and it seemed that the girl in front of him was unaware of his presence. So, he attempted to make himself known. "Uh…Meow?"

Out of instinct, Kyoka screeched, which made the boy in front of her scream as well, only for her to use her ear jacks as a weapon and stab him painfully.

"Aw, come on." He winced as the two earlobes stabbed into his chest. "I'm definitely gonna feel that in the morning…"

"M-Midoriya?" The rocker asked, seeing the boy's outline in the dark room. She quickly flipped the switch to the lights to turn them on, seeing that it really was him. "Oh crap, I'm so sorry, you scared the hell out of me."

"Y-Yea, I kinda noticed." He strained out, letting himself get helped up by the girl in front of him.

"What are you even doing here?" She asked, not remembering where she was.

"I should be asking you the same thing." He responded. "this is my room, you know?"

Confused, Kyoka looked around to confirm the boy's statement. Workout equipment laying around, no musical instruments, All Might decorations were strewn all over the room. Yep, definitely his room. "Yea, guess you're right."

"So, Jiro, why exactly did you come here at 3 in the morning looking like the devil himself was chasing you?"

"I…" She paused for a second, no words leaving her mouth. "I…don't…know." She told the boy truthfully, rather slowly. "I was just wandering around and I somehow ended up in the boys' section of the building, in front of your room no less."

"Ok?" Midoriya questioned before yawning, his body unconsciously stretching in the process, which didn't go unnoticed by the punk-rock girl in front of him.

"Also, dude, can you put a shirt on?" She sassed, attempting to hide her embarrassment.

The green boy looked down, to see that he was in fact shirtless. "O-Oh, y-yea, s-sorry!" He hurriedly stammered out as he ran towards his closest, pulling out the first thing he saw and put it on. He heard some a snort coming from Kyoka's direction, only to see her silently laughing.

"Really dude? You have one of those?" She asked him in between fits of laughter. "That's such a nerdy thing!"

Izuku once again looked down, to see that he had put on an All Might hoodie that poorly represented the Hero's chest, muscles and all. Now even more embarrassed, he wrapped his arms around himself in an attempt to cover the not so chosen piece of clothing. "W-what's wrong with it?" He asked, heat rising up to his cheek. "I got it from a box-top competition, i-it's really cool!"

Kyoka snorted loudly again, not holding back her laughter this time, much to the dismay of the hero fanboy. "That's precious!"

With a sigh Izuku walked towards his bed and sat down, falling back onto it. "Why does everyone do this to me?" He asked no one in particular.

"Oh, don't take it to heart man, I'm just messing with ya." She said in a teasing tone. "I think it's cool you admire All Might like you do, reminds me of myself in a way."

"Really?" he asked. "How so?"

"Well there are some bands that I just love to death, I have posters and stuff like that all over my room back in my parents."

"Huh." he said in acknowledgment, not really needing to say anything else further.

A few seconds of awkward silence passed, causing Kyoka to try and break the forming ice. "Sooooo, what now?" She asked. "I can leave if you want, I did kinda barge in here while you were sleeping."

"N-No it's fine really, I wasn't really asleep either." He admitted. "I was lost in thought. I didn't even realize how late it had gotten until I saw the clock after you came in."

"What a coincidence, I was the same, which is how I got here in the first place." She sheepishly laughed.

"What was it that you were thinking about?" The boy curiously asked before realizing that the question could have been insensitive. "T-That's if you want to tell me, of course. I don't want t-to pry into anything personal."

Kyoka stared at the boy in front a moment, wondering if she should just say what had been bothering her, that is before she noticed that there was a speaker device on the boy's desk. "Hey, you mind if I put some music on?" She said as she pointed towards said speakers. "It helps me think."

"Umm, sure, no problem." He reluctantly agreed.

Kyoka fished her phone out of her shorts and opened it, connecting it with the speaker. She scrolled for a small amount of time before nodding and clicking on a song. It started off with a calm yet trippy opening, which immediately set the tone for the pair. A deep, sentimental voice full of somber started singing.

"If you see me floating, too many times…" ("Fireflies" – Gorrilaz)

She looked back at the boy, who seemed entranced by the song. That look in his eyes, that adorable face, it just made her want to tell him everything, somehow knowing that he'll somehow fix her recent insecurities. With a smile she sat down next to him on the bed, thankfully he didn't seem to mind. With a sigh, she answered his question. "I feel like, I'm not really good enough, physically I mean."

"Physically? What do you mean by that?"

Of course, she'd have to explain it to him in greater detail, he wasn't the type to ogle at other girls and take notice of such things. "Have you seen the other girls in our class? They are all so attractive, so beautiful!"

"Jiro, wh-"

"I know I ain't stacked when it compared to all of them." She said as she made a round motion in front of her chest.

"What does-"

"I know I don't really act all girly and shit either."

"So, are you-"

"I just feel so, inferior to them, and I don't really know why."

"Jiro!" The boy yelled out, catching the attention of the rambling rocker girl. "Why does this bother you so much? Who cares about all that stuff? You are a wonderful person, don't let some guys let you think otherwise."

"I know, I know, it's stupid."

"Let me finish, Jiro."

"Kyoka."

"Huh?"

"Call me Kyoka, it's much better for me."

"Ugh, your starting to sound like Asui now."

"Didn't she tell you to call her Tsu?" She asked.

"Exactly my point." He said whilst chuckling. "But anyway, you really shouldn't be insecure about yourself, you're a really cool person Jiro, I mean, Kyoka."

Now that was something she didn't expect to hear. Well, she did, but not as sincere as he told her. They held genuine meaning, no meaningless compliments to try and get out of the situation.

"The guys who keep saying things that looks are all that matter are idiots." He sincerely said. "Looks don't matter as much as what's inside a person, who they are, what they stand for."

Kyoka smiled, knowing that her past insecurities were all flushing down the drain. Maybe he was a potential candidate…

"I can't say I know much about you, but I can tell that you are someone who won't let something as dumb as this get in your way."

"Well, nerd. You really know how to give a cliché speech and make it sound genuine." She giggled out. "So, you say you don't really know me, huh? Why don't we fix that?" She said as she put the box of sweets she was carrying this entire time in front of him.

"You had that this the whole time?" He asked the girl.

"Yep, I completely forgot about them, so now that we are here, why not eat some?"

"That's something I'd like to do." Izuku said with a smile.
