A New Change.

~Narrator's POV.~

"You can't run from me, Zim!" My twin brother shouted, as he chased my Irken friend down the streets of our neighborhood.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, as I was finishing my Swollen Eyeball Network report on the alien race called 'Gems'.

My name is Eleanor Mai Membrane, but everyone calls me by my nickname, Elle the Insane. I'm fourteen years old, and I'm the daughter of the infamous Prof. Membrane, the head scientist and founder of Membrane Science Industries.

Once I was finished with my report, and submitted it to Agent FogBlog, another member of the Swollen Eyeball Network, I realized it was quiet. Zim must've been able to return to his base, or Dib has given up on the chase.

Then there was a knock on my tree-house door. I walked over to the door and opened it. On the other side of the door, it was my twin brother, Dib Membrane, with a huge grin on his face.

"What have you done now, Dib?" I asked, folding my arms.

Dib, although my twin brother, is very different to me. His ravenette hair with a large scythe-like lock. Amber-brown eyes behind a pair of large glasses. Pale Caucasian skin. And he wore a blue t-shirt with a grey ghost on the chest area under a black trench coat. Black pants and matching boots.

While I'm not your average human being. My skin is dark pastel green with darker green scales. A pair of black, angular antenna on either side of my crown. Magenta eyes with no pupils. Three fingered hands and two-toed feet. And a large round, pink gemstone embedded in my naval.

In short, I'm half-Irken and half-Gem, two alien species that are currently after my home-planet, Earth.

Of course, I don't always look like this. I wear a choker with a pendant of an Irken insignia. It produces a holographic projection of my former human appearance: Pale Caucasian skin. Amber-brown eyes. And ravenette hair. Much like my twin brother.

Anyhow, back to what was going on... Oh yeah, Dib was at my tree-house door, grinning like an idiot.

"I've done it, Elle. I've finally done it!" He told me, entering my tree-house. He showed me a small piece of black hair, "From this antenna hair, I can finally prove that Zim is an alien once and for all. Then I can prove that I'm not crazy and you're not insane."

I lowered my head, put my hand over my temple and sighed, "Dib... You've been at this for two years. No-one is going to believe you that Zim is an alien. When will you learn to make peace with that? I have."

Dib grabbed my shoulders and shook me, "How can you be so negative? I can finally turn you human again with Zim's technology. Don't you want that?"

I slapped my brother across the face, forcing him to let go of me and take a step back. Dib never learns from reasoning. Only forcing him to see reason would make him change his mind. For crying out loud!

"Listen to yourself, Dib Membrane! Zim hasn't done any harm since the incident with the Florpus Hole!" I shouted, "For sanity's sake, you picked on Zim when he was helping Gretchen with her braces. Don't you see? Zim's given up on dominating Earth. He's figured out that the Tallests aren't coming."

"That's what he wants you to believe, Elle." Dib argued, "Don't you want to be human again? Don't you want to be sane? Zim won't have to hide anymore with this. He can face justice and become the first alien to be seen on Earth."

"YOU IDIOT!" I yelled, "Zim isn't the only alien on Earth. What about me? What about the Gems in Beach City? Is that all what's important to you? Exposing Zim for being different?" I held my breath for a second, then sighed, "You know what, Dib? I give up trying to reason with you. I give up on this town. I give up with Dad, Gaz and you. I'm going back to Beach City. I'm going to see the Crystal Gems. Maybe then, I'll learn something there that is worthwhile."

I escorted Dib out of my tree-house and slammed the door behind him. With that, I started packing my clothes and the necessities and grabbed my tele-communicator watch. I dialed Zim's number and waited as it rang.

After two rings, Zim's head appeared on the holographic projector. He looked like he had a black eye and a bruise across his cheek.

"Hello, Zim." I greeted with a small smile.

"Hello, Elle." Zim greeted back, "Is there a reason why you're calling me?"

"I have a proposition for us, Zim." I answered, "You've been here long enough to know about the Tallests are not coming, right?" Zim nodded, "And we're growing tired of Dib's antics against you." Zim nodded again, "What if I told you there was a place where we can live without Dib trying to push his words down our throats. A place where humans and aliens coexist without prejudice."

"You've got my interests, Elle." Zim smiled, "Where is this place you speak of?"

"If you'd like, we can move to Beach City this evening." I answered, "We can leave this old life behind and start a new life. We can leave Dib to his antics with other paranormal activities. What do you say?"

Zim rubbed his chin in thought, until I heard Gir scream, "I wanna go! I wanna go!"

Zim smiled and nodded his head, "I'll bring the voot cruiser to your tree-house. Be sure you're ready, okay?"

I nodded, "Way ahead of you."

~Zim's POV.~

With the conversation reached an agreement, Elle hung up the tele-communicator and I turned to Gir.

"Pack your things, Gir. We're leaving this town for a better one." I told my robot companion.

Gir smiled and jumped around the living room in joyous glee. He jumped in fast speeds, he missed a jump and hit his head on the ceiling. He landed on the ground and rubbed his temple. Gir shook his head and gave me a thumbs up. For being something so defective, he sure is resilient, I'll give him that...

Anywho, I made my way to the base and started packing my things into boxes and started packing up the voot cruiser. After a few minutes of packing, I heard the doorbell ring. I put a box down and used the elevator to the living room. I walked toward the door. I opened the door and there was a bright flash in my eyes, causing me to take a step back and rub my eyes in irritation.

"Hah! Another piece of evidence!" A familiar voice shouted, "Now everyone will know that I'm not crazy."

I finished rubbing my eyes and looked at my doorway. It was Dib waving a camera with a huge grin on his face.

"Dib?" I recognized, then I folded my arms and growled in annoyance, "What do you want now? Haven't you bothered me or Elle enough already?"

"I just took a picture of you without your disguise." Dib cheered, rubbing the camera in my face, "Aren't you gonna try and stop me?"

I shook my head and sighed, "No, Dib. I have had enough of this constant conflict. It was fun for a while, but, come on! It's been two years. When are you gonna stop all this and get a life?!"

"So... You are going to stop me?" Dib asked, not listening to a word I just said.

I growled in annoyance and slammed the door closed. After a few seconds, Dib started pounding on the door again. I ignored him and resumed packing the voot cruiser. After an hour and a half of packing, Gir and I entered the cockpit of the voot cruiser and exit the base. I activated the self-destruct and left Dib to defend himself. He's lucky that the self-destruct is subtle and happened underground.

I piloted the voot cruiser down the town, to Dib's home and Elle's tree-house. Elle was already outside, waiting for us. I parked the voot cruiser near the driveway and Elle hopped into the cruiser. Following Elle's map of this place called 'Beach City', I piloted the voot cruiser to our new destination. Beach City was small for a city, but it was right on a beach, which was nice. A small town with a lighthouse on top of a hill that housed a statue of a giant, six-armed, two-faced woman with a bungalow resting in her arms.

~Elle the Insane's POV.~

"This is it, Zim. Beach City." I told Zim.

"This is it?" Zim asked me, "I was expecting somewhere bigger."

"Don't let the appearance fool you." I assured, "Beach City may be small for a city, but it's very calm and hardly anything happens here."

Zim gave me a small smile of confidence, until suddenly, the voot cruiser was shot out of the sky by an energy blast. The blast also pierced through Gir, who sparked over the control console and the voot cruiser went to system overload.

Acting quickly, Zim grabbed my hand, opened the cockpit window, and threw me out of the window of the cockpit. As I landed on the sand, I turned to see the voot cruiser shot into the stratosphere and exploded close to the sun.

I fell to my knees with tears running down my cheeks, "Zim... Gir... No..."

I heard footsteps on the sand, approaching me from a few meters away. I activated my PAK and turned to the people responsible with a blazing angry glare. Suddenly the anger vanished, as I saw three female figures appear from the horizon and glare at me.

The middle one was tall and lean built. Her skin was a pale cream color, almost white. Her bird-like hair was a pastel orange. Light blue eyes and she wore a blue tube top, with a yellow star, under a short, yellow sheen dress. Pastel pink shorts, green socks and blue shoes. Her most distinguishing feature was a large pearl embedded in her forehead.

On her right was a shorter female with purple skin and pale lavender hair that reached her ankles. She wore a mauve dress with the left strap of her black sports bra showing. Matching black leggings with stars on the knees and white boots. She had a purple gemstone, an amethyst, embedded in her chest.

And on the lean lady's left was the tallest one. Her skin was brick red and her square afro was black. Her eyes were hidden behind a pair of shades. She wore a black and red body-suit with shoulder guards and black gloves. This woman had two gems embedded in her palms.

All the women had weapons aimed at us. The lean woman had a short spear. The black and red woman had a pair of gauntlets. And the purple one had a whip.

"State your purpose, Irken invader!" The one with the pearl on her forehead shouted at me.

I said nothing and narrowed my eyes at the women before me. Something about them seemed familiar to me. Even the one with the pearl on her forehead. Then something clicked in my head. I had a dream that I visited the woman. We spoke to each other. She knows me!

I stood up and looked at the women. The woman with the pearl tightened her grip on her spear, ready to attack me. I lifted my light blue t-shirt and showed the women my large, pink gemstone. The women lowered their offensive stances and looked at each other.

The woman with the pearl embedded in her forehead dropped her spear to the sand, "Rose... It's you... You've returned."

"Uh... Pearl?" The purple woman spoke up, "Do you know this Irken?"

The other woman, with the two gems on her palms, removed her shades, revealing three heterochomic eyes and stared at me with shock and disbelief, "Eleanor..."

My eyes blinked in disbelief as a memory struck my mind as I stared at the three women. A memory from long ago. A fight between a human man of science and three women for a pair of baby Irken twins. I recognized the people from my memory. The man was my father, Professor Membrane. The twins were me and Dib. Then names echoed in my mind. Everything made sense.

"Pearl... Amethyst... Garnet..." I gasped, "I... I remember you now." Tears welled up in my eyes, "I can't believe I found you... After all this time... You were here..."

The woman with the pearl, Pearl, smiled and threw her arms around me, "You remember us. I knew you would."

I smiled and wrapped my arms around her. Tears fell down my cheeks and my heart was filled to the brim with happiness. So happy that my gem glowed brightly for a few seconds.

Pearl released the hug and looked at me, "What brings you to Beach City?"

I cleared my throat, recollected myself, and answered, "Zim and I were looking for a more peaceful life. I figured that Beach City would be the best place." Then my expression faded to sadness, "Zim gave up his life saving me from whatever blasted the voot cruiser."

Pearl's eyes widen, then she looked at her spear. She lowered her head, "I am sorry for your loss."

I put my hand over Pearl's shoulder, "It's alright. You acted on instinct. You didn't know what to expect." Pearl regained her smile.

The purple woman, Amethyst, smiled and withdrew her whip, "Well, it has been quiet for the past week. And we're always looking for new recruits."

"Recruits?!" I exclaimed, then shook my head, "No way! I'm tired of fighting. I just want to live in peace."

The tallest woman, Garnet, shrugged her shoulders, "Welcome to Earth, Eleanor. This is as peaceful as it gets."

I looked around the beach and saw how peaceful it was. No more of Dib's antics. No more distractions. No more conflict or conquest. Just peace.

I smiled and nodded, "I'll take it."

Pearl smiled, "Wonderful. Welcome to the Crystal Gems, Eleanor."

Amethyst smiled, "You're gonna love it here."

And that's how I became a member of the Crystal Gems and began my new life in Beach City.
