(air temple island)
"Why can't I see a pro bending match?" Korra whined as she heard how awesome they were over the radio but wanted to see them in person
"It's a disgrace to bending" Tenzin said sternly
"Better than crime Tenzin" Naruto said walking in bringing in some food as Penma was in the last few months of her pregnancy and he decided to help with some of the chores she did "plus didn't the airbenders have airball?" he said as he read some historical scrolls and knew airbenders had a sport "plus it kinda like the fight each nation has like earthbenders and the firebenders have agni kai" he said as each nation had a sport for combat
"Even if we are pacifists nothing is wrong with a little competition" Jinora said as she and her siblings competed in a lot as there was not much to do on the island
"Well said" Naruto said as that was what kept life exciting
Jinora looked away with a blush from Naruto's compliment
"Plus you can't keep her on the island" Naruto said knowing he couldn't keep an impulsive spirit like Korra on the island "me and the girls will keep an eye on her from time to time so she'll be ok" he said as he felt the girls wouldn't have a problem with it
"Fine but only after she finishes her training" Tenzin said sternly like always
"What am I a child?" Korra said not helping her case as she pouted
"No you're my friend who's new to the city so I'm just lending a hand" Naruto said smirking at Korra who returned the smile
(later at Naruto's restaurant)
"Fuck yeah I'm in!" Will said as Korra wanted to start a team for pro bending matches
"You're ok with this?" Kuvira asked drinking some coffee as she was all for this as she liked to fight
"Sure" Naruto said as most of the matches were later in the day and he could use them to sponsor his restaurant "so what's the team name?" he asked them as they went silent as they hadn't thought that far, he let out a sigh "try team Kiyoshi" he said leaving to go to the kitchen
"I like it" Kuvira said as Kiyoshi was still to this day one of the most legendary earth benders
"Me to" Korra asked as the name of one of her past lives being a team name sounded cool
"Fantastic" Will said not really caring about the team name but saw it as symbolic as she believed they were the only full team of women who were in the pro bending league
"Here" Naruto said coming out with a sack of cash "to register uniforms all that other crap you need" he said as he knew most of the stuff they needed wasn't cheap
"Hey what's the name of this restaurant anyway?" Korra asked as she didn't see a sign
Naruto sighed "the crimson fox the assholes I'm dealing with couldn't make up their minds for a design" he said as the people he paid for the sign were a pain in the ass "also the first matches of the season are approaching you better hurry and start practicing also Korra" he said gaining the avatar's attention "don't use the other elements besides water reason being that you might get disqualified the people are only hearing hushes and whispers about you staking a claim like this would get all kind've attention mostly the wrong kind" he said knowing there were as many people who disliked the avatar rather than like her like the populace
"Fine" Korra said understanding his reasoning
(later)
"And you're inviting me why?" Lin asked looking at Naruto suspiciously as he offered her to come to the pro bending match in a week
"Because what I'm doing will piss Tenzin off" Naruto said seeing a smirk appear on her face "and I have a feeling you'll enjoy yourself" he said as Lin reminded him of a rough around the edges type of person
"You had me at piss Tenzin off" Lin said wanting to see that up close and personal "I thought you liked the guy kid" she asked a little curious as to why he would piss the man off
"He's to uptight and needs to lighten up" Naruto said as sometimes Tenzin was a stick in the mud most of the time
Lin actually let out a genuine laugh "kid you don't know the half of it" she said straightening herself out
(week later)
"I'm sorry you're blackmailing me?" Naruto said not knowing if he should be impressed or insulted by the fact Jinora was trying to blackmail him into taking her and her siblings to the pro bending match 'I was gonna take her and her siblings anyway but this was unexpected' he thought not seeing this coming at all "sure no problem"
"If you wanted a date all you had to do was ask" Will said in a teasing tone
Jinora blushed at the comment and sent a glare at her siblings as they were snickering behind her
(later)
"This is awesome!" Milo said screaming at the top of his lungs along with the rest of the crowd
"How'd you get such great seats?" Lin asked feeling a little excited from seeing the match from such good seats
"Sponsors of the team or high up well known people who contribute to this place get these seats" Naruto said as he read the rules and looked into benefits for this place
"Why'd you sponsor a team?" Lin asked curiously as shh knew people did crazy things for crazy reasons
"They need money for equipment and stuff and being their sponsor allows me some advantages in helping them by supporting the team" Naruto said not liking being denied to help his friends when they would need him the most
"And for our first match we have team Kyoshi vs the fire ferrets" the announcer said making Naruto go wide eyed
"That rookie joined a team" Lin said as she recognized Mako and even though he was a firebender and she had mostly earthbenders in her unit for their metalbending skills but saw his academy record and thought it would be good to bring him into her unit
"That guy is a cop?" Naruto asked as Mako was always a stiff and a bit dickish
"Good kid but a bit of a stiff" Lin said calculatively
"You do realize that's the pot calling the kettle black right?" Naruto said only to receive a slap to the back of the head
Lin would've done and said more but the glare she was receiving from Jinora made her stop in her tracks 'this really Tenzin's kid?' she thought wondering how Tenzin a full on pansy ass in her own opinion and Penma who even she had to admit was begrudgingly sweet and kind made a girl who could glare like that
The match went on for a while the match halfway through it's time limit the fire ferrets began to gang up on Korra
'Not as dumb as I thought' Naruto thought as in his honest opinion Korra was the weak link as she never fought with others and practice wasn't much help as they mostly did two on one which wasn't much help for teamwork for fighting against a team of three
Korra couldn't deal with the constant attacks and out of instinct summoned earth discs to block
'Oh shit' Naruto thought as the crowd was quickly putting what they saw together
"This either got more entertaining or is gonna do a lot of damage" Lin said as she knew a reveal here of all places would spread like wildfire causing things to spin in motion both good and bad
(with Tenzin)
Tenzin was absolutely livid as he had just heard over the radio the guards were listening to in his search for Korra that she was in a pro bending match this very moment
(later with Naruto)
"Well this'll be fun to explain to Tenzin" Naruto said making Lin chuckle
"Please bring me along" Lin said as Tenzin always had a funny look when he was angry
"Sure" Naruto said with a smile 'at least they're not disqualifying her' he thought as the ref said as long as she bended only water "why do you hate Tenzin?" he asked curiously as it was funny but he wanted to know why she hated him
"He dumped me" Lin said plainly
Naruto choked on some food he put in his mouth from the reveal and saw that jinora and the kids were to captivated with the game to hear Lin
Naruto and her went out in the hallway after the team claimed victory "how the hell did that happen?" he asked curiously
Lin didn't know why but she felt like she could trust Naruto "we use to be childhood friends" she said thinking back to simpler times "and even though we were very different we really worked as a couple" she said thinking back to her time with Tenzin which wasn't all bad in her opinion "but we realized our differences made us not right for one another" she said letting out a sigh "the bastard didn't even try to do it on equal terms before getting together with Penma" she said no hate toward Penma but her anger directed to Tenzin as she earlier in life didn't want kids and that was the main reason behind most of their problems but she really hated that he dumped her which was a dick move on his part
"Naruto!" Tenzin said loudly getting both their attention
"Can't stop her from living her life Tenzin" Naruto said as he knew Tenzin was trying to protect her but restraining her freedom from the world did more harm to her than good for her future duties as the avatar
"And my children?" Tenzin asked as he got the information from his wife
"Your daughter blackmailed me" Naruto said as he didn't really care but wasn't gonna take all the blame and wanted a little revenge on her for thinking she could blackmail him
"My little girl wouldn't do that" Tenzin said with absolute certainty
"She's almost seventeen" Lin said as she was sure the girl was more than Tenzin thought she was
"Why would she blackmail you?" Tenzin asked curiously
"Because you're boring" Lin said as she knew the monk style he lived by and to say she'd rather claw her eyes out "I think you forget children like to have something called fun with you it's all this serious meditative crap" she said as Tenzin grew into a major bore compared to when he was a kid always thinking he had to set an example "I mean what happened to you let your kids have fun seriously it so bad I feel bad for them" she said as when she gave a crap about something it was either cause she cared for it or it was that bad
"He was fun as a kid?" Naruto asked curiously
"Very" Lin said as Tenzin often pulled stunts and sometimes lived on the edge like his brother but grew apart thinking of setting an example of what an airbender should be especially after his father's passing
"Anyway I have zero clue why your daughter would blackmail me" Naruto said really having zero clue
'He's as dense as uncle Sokka' Lin thought thinking to her deceased uncle
"I'm going to find Korra" Tenzin said thinking she'd listen to him
"He seriously thinks he can convince a stubborn female young adult?" Naruto asked Lin
"Never said I dated him for his brains" Lin said letting out a sigh "why didn't you stop him?
"Oh please Korra is way too stubborn to let him stop her" Naruto said letting out a chuckle "let's go back to our seats" he said having a feeling something good was gonna happen
"What we miss?" Naruto asked Jinora as she then told them Korra got knocked out and it was all tied up and the final round was about to start
"Is my dad here?" Jinora asked wondering if her mind was playing tricks on her as she was sure her father hated this sport
"Yeah don't worry" Naruto said and then watched something that caught not only his attention but everyone else's 'she's moving like an airbender I'll be damned' he thought with a smile as she was learning as she fought with a skill not many possessed but it was considered very valuable
"Be the leaf" Ikki and Meelo said screaming at the top of their lungs
Korra, Will, and Kuvira then unleashed a three way collaboration attack sending the opposing team to the edge
"Sorry Bolin!" Naruto yelled as he didn't want any hard feelings with his employee
Bolin threw a thumbs up at the very second water blasted him in the face
"Winner team Kiyoshi!" the announcer said as the crowd cheered Kyoshi
(later)
"You guys did good alright everyone free food at my place" Naruto said to both teams and people he invited
"You can go" Tenzin said not needing to see the puppy eyes his children were giving him to know they wanted to go
(later at Naruto's restaurant)
"You impressed me tonight Bolin and for being such a good sport I'm making you a chef" Naruto said as Bolin was helping him cook the food in the kitchen following his instructions exactly as he had little to no experience cooking
"Thanks" Bolin said smiling nervously
"It also comes with a raise" Naruto said as he intended to do that anyway as Bolin was a hard working employee
(few minutes later)
"Ok Lin here's your burger and fries" Naruto said handing the woman a welldone burger giving her some ketchup "team kiyoshi here are your dishes" he said handing Will nachos, Kuvira a steak, Korra some fried salmon "airbenders" he said passing them non meat dishes giving Ikki and Milo spaghetti while he gave Jinora a vegetarian burrito and Tenzin a salad
"I swear kid I'm coming here more often" Lin said as she enjoyed the juices and seasonings of the burger
"I'll enjoy the company how you doing buzzkill?" Naruto asked Mako as he ate a pizza with his team 'can't believe he tried to shut down this party' he thought as Mako complained that they were being to loud but Lin quickly put an end to it telling him to shut it
"This is so damn good" Korra said as she loved fish or meat in general and the fish she was eating was divine
"It better be most of this is grown by us" Will said as they bought some land and grew their own vegetables and fruits
"We have to prime the meat ourselves when we by it" Kuvira said as she enjoyed the steak she helped tenderise as she did most the work on the farm with the plants due to her being an earthbender, they recently hired help as the land quickly became a farm where they grew all their food and developed some of their own products mainly dairy
"Alright everyone here's some dessert" Naruto said bringing out small bowls of ice cream for everyone
"Sorry Tenzin it has a lot of sugar" Naruto said as Milo quickly ate his making the elder airbender go pale "oh and here is some food for Pema some cake and some veggie wraps" he said knowing Pema would be hungry
(next morning)
"I swear who the hell gets here at opening?" Naruto said as he heard the door open as he literally just opened and was by himself today as Kuvira and Will had the day off "how can I help you" he asked as woman sat at the booth holding up a menu
"I don't know what's good?" the woman asked curiously
'Irish breakfast' Naruto thought as he had to change a lot of names for certain recipes as it wouldn't make sense in this world "the countryside breakfast" he said as that was as good a name he could come up with
"Sure" the woman said placing down her menu revealing she had nice wavy black hair, green eyes, tight clothing around her curvy body and DD-cups
Naruto actually paused momentarily as the woman was gorgeous "food will be ready in 15" he said getting his bearings back
'He was cute' the woman thought as he looked handsome but the whisker marks made him look cute
(few minutes later)
"Wow this looks incredible" Asami said seeing the scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, and fresh orange juice
"Mind if I join you?" Naruto asked as he made his own breakfast and no one else showed up
"Not at all" the woman said taking a bite of her eggs ""this tastes amazing" she said despite the food in her mouth knowing it was bad manners
"Glad you like it" Naruto said with a smirk glad that she liked his cooking so much
"How did the owner come up with these recipes" the woman asked as she has ordered food from here before and was always amazed and after that she never knew what to order
"Well I was bored and have some decent skills in the kitchen" Naruto said as that was somewhat true
"You're the owner?" the woman asked a little skeptical as they seemed the same age
"Yep" Naruto said as he took a sip of coffee as even he needed a pick me up every once and awhile
"Heard the owner was an airbender care to prove it?" the woman asked challengingly
Naruto smirked and created an air sphere in his hand shocking the woman "Naruto Namikaze" he said ending the air sphere as he held out his hand
"Asami Sato" Asami said shaking his hand
"So that's why you're here so early don't like the celebrity life?" Naruto asked as he knew the Sato name as they were a huge company
"It gets exhausting I try not to draw too much attention to myself" Asami said glad he wasn't going crazy over her name like most would
"I somewhat know what your dealing with" Naruto said as he grew up with the wrong kind've attention with being ignored and cast aside
"People really like your food?" Asami asked as she was a fan of this
"Something like that" Naruto said as that was true
"Well I better take off" Asami said as she knew people would arrive any minute and she didn't want the attention "but here" she said giving him a slip of paper
"What's this?" Naruto said seeing an address on it
"A restaurant I'm taking you to tonight" Asami said with a smirk
"You're asking me out?" Naruto said a little surprised as he wasn't expecting this from a first meeting
"Yep see you tonight" Asami said taking off
"Shit I need a suit" Naruto said thinking out loud as he recognized the address to a very fancy restaurant
"For what?" Will said as she and Kuvira came in wanting breakfast
Naruto handed her a paper which she then sniffed smelling some perfume on it
"Is she hot?" Will asked making Naruto and Kuvira groan as they knew how she got
