Hey, guys! Little SoKai drabble I wrote out of desire to make a new story about these two. Hope it's alright. :)

Sora gazed down silently at the sleeping young figure in his arms. He couldn't keep the awed smile off his face over how sweet she looked.

Kairi was curled up in the spiky-haired boy's embrace which were wrapped around her small frame. Her ocean blue eyes were closed with no hint of opening soon. The fifteen-heart old girl was in the deepest sleep she'd ever had.

Sora's eyes twinkled as he took in everything from the girl's beautiful features to her sweet angelic face. He raised a hand to run his fingers softly across Kairi's forehead and through her red hair. That was as minimal movement he was going to make as long as she was resting against him. No way was he going to move from this spot. As long as Kairi would be sleeping in his hold, he wasn't going to budge from the spot.

The boy remained sat on the same spot on the beach, keeping his arms protectively around Kairi. The waves lapped gently onto the sandy shore. Far out into the horizon, the sun was sinking slowly beyond the ocean, painting the evening sky in a deep shade of orange while the fluffy white clouds were changed to lilac.

A soft, tired mumble came out of Kairi.

Sora blinked upon the weary sound which had come from the girl he adored. He gazed down at her in high alert as she slowly opened her blue eyes. She gazed sleepily up at the one holding her, the sight of him bringing a smile to her sweet face.

"Sora..."

The boy smiled in return down at her, his heart fluttering as it picked up speed.

"Is it...tomorrow already?" Kairi asked quietly. "Or is it still today?"

"It doesn't matter." Refusing to remove his arms from around the princess of heart, Sora continued to stroke her hair. "You sleep for as long as you want. I'll stay right here while you do."

Kairi stared up at the caring boy holding her, not wanting to cause him any trouble by letting him sleep in his arms.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course!" Sora planted a kiss onto the girl's forehead. "It's my duty to protect you, Kairi!"

Sora's words and what he just did to her made Kairi smile brightly. She was so grateful to him for taking care of her while she slept. It was one of the countless reasons why she loved the spiky-haired boy with all her heart.

"Thanks, Sora." Kairi closed her eyes, but her happy smile never disappeared from her face. "I love you..."

"Love you too, Kairi..." Sora's adoring gaze softened as he kept on caressing the girl's red hair, refusing to budge from the spot. "Sweet dreams, my princess of heart..."

And sweet dreams did indeed await Kairi as she drifted back into her peaceful slumber. Every one of them featured the kind-hearted hero who was looking after her while she rested. Never before had the she felt so comfortable or secure.

There was no safer place for her to sleep than wrapped in the protective arms of the boy she loved.
