Chapter 2: The Hunt begins on Christmas Eve

"Oh man I can't wait to see a superhero." Ruby said.

"He's more of a depressing hero really" Yang said.

"Well I think he's a cool superhero. Depressing or not, he looks so cool." Jaune said.

"I'm kinda still surprised how dark his background is." Blake said.

"See and you said comic books can't be great." Jaune said with a smile. Blake rolls her eyes.

"I just want this to start now." Nora said.

"We have to wait for everyone to come back, Nora." Ren said.

Ozpin's Group

"Well this guy is pretty badass I'll admit." Qrow said.

"The kids seems to like him." Summer said with a smile.

"Well there kids, what do you expect. It's a superhero." Qrow said.

"Even though he is a vigilante. I see him doing a good job. Especially since he help founded a Justice group." Ironwood said.

"Definitely make you think of us in some way." Glynda said.

"A group of heroes, protecting the world themselves. I suppose we should see this world similar to ours to some extant." Ozpin said.

"Here's hoping it's not going to be the exact the same." Qrow said.

Salem's Group

*Sigh* "These 'heroes' sound so much of a bore." Cinder said. She just wants to skip this and see something more exciting. Like maybe a world were the heroes lose. Like Mortal Kombat being one.

"Now patience Cinder. I'm sure we could learn something from here." Salem said.

"She's right. Some of the technology the Wayne's have are very advance. Perhaps they could help us." Watts said.

"Oooo. I hope with see that Joker guy. I would like to see his hand work." Tyrian said with a happy glare in his eyes.

"Tyrian calm yourself." Salem said.

"Sorry, mistress." Tyrian said.

And with that everyone else started coming back.

Onyx reappear. Okay seems like everyone is ready. So let's begin. Onyx said. He started the viewing as the everything got dark.

The camera opens up as it shows the dark and snowing sky. The DC Logo appears on screen. As it fades to the Warners Bros Logo. Before fading to the Bat symbol. And the screen goes black.

The camera opens up again as it shows some bats on the ceiling. One of the bats woke up and began crawling on the ceiling. It looked down the walkway. The screen shifts as a gate opens up as someone is standing there.

"Oh. Bats are so creepy." Weiss said.

"I think bats are cool. Well, now that I think about it, they look kinda cute." Ruby said.

"You do know Bats carry diseases and can kill you, right." Blake said.

"Yeah, but they are still cute though." Ruby said.

The camera cuts back to the bat as it lets out a shriek and jumps off and starts flying away as the man gets closer. Behind it the other bats start flying close behind. He continues walking down the hallway as the bats kept flying.

"Still think they are cute." Yang said with a teasing grin at her sister.

"Is that Bruce. It's hard to tell." Weiss said.

"It should, I mean he is walking into a cave full of bats." Winter said.

"There are just so many bats." Mercury said. How can someone stand all those rodents with wings. He bet you the cave smell like bat piss or shit, but who knows.

He comes out of the entrance as we see the Batwing and other technology in the cave. Bats are seen flying down into the cave as he stood at the edge.

This is Bruce Wayne. The Batman.

"That is probably one of the coolest shot I've ever seen." Yang said.

"He just so badass, and nothing has happen yet." Sun said. Oh he is ready.

The screen cuts as it shows text.

WB GAMES - and - DC ENTERTAINMENT Presents

"So this is base on a game." Ruby said.

Well, yes he's a comic book hero. And the media for this is in movies, shows, and video games. Onyx said.

"So are we going to watch someone play or.." Jaune asked.

No it would be like if you guys are watching a movie. Onyx answered.

"I could work with that." Some said.

We then hear a voice of a news reporter coming from a television.

TV: Police and emergency services are urging Gotham residents to stay off the roads and in their homes tonight in light of the severe winter storm warning.

"We have the same emergency system set in place in Atlas." Ironwood said.

"It gets real bad up there, huh." Summer said.

"Yes." Everyone from Atlas said.

The screen continues to follow the bats as they fly through the cave. They fly by Bruce who is walking up to the super computer he has in the cave.

"Jeez how big is that cave. I think those are the same bats." Roman said.

"Do you think he has pet bats? I think would right." Ruby said.

That is probably true, he could call bats to scare people. But no. He does get a dog and names him Ace. Onyx said.

Ruby eyes shines and was going to ask something else.

Yes, the dog is also in the bat family and is call Ace the Bat-Hound. Even has a cape. Onyx said.

"Yeah, dogs with capes. Zwei never lets me put him a cape." Ruby said as she was jealous that Bruce got to put a cape.

"What's a Zwei?" Roman asked.

"Our pet corgi." Ruby said.

"You have a corgi." Jaune's sisters said as they crowded Ruby. Ruby lets out a small 'eep' as they wanted to see a picture.

Jaune could only groan in embarrassment. Pyrrha rubs his back.

A dog as a bat. Blake never heard something so terrifying before. 'They must never exist.' Blake thought to herself.

Vicki Vale: No man is an island, Bruce. You've been back for almost two years now… you can't expect me to believe that Gotham's most eligible bachelor is spending another Christmas alone.

Bruce: …you just ran out of time.

"He spent Christmas alone." Ruby said with a sad voice.

Some with family sadden at the thought of celebrating Christmas alone.

You guys have Christmas. Thank god I don't have explain what that is. Onyx said with a sound of relief.

Commissioner Loeb: …knowing that tonight, we put to rest one of Gotham's most heinous and relentless killers - Julian Gregory Day.

Bruce looks at the screen with a hard focus.

Reporter: Commissioner Loeb! Commissioner Loeb - any comment on the rumor that it wasn't actually the cops who captured Mr. Day?

Gordon: There is no such thing as a 'bat man.'

"Wait what? i thought they were working with Bruce." Ruby said confused.

This is before that. They see him as a vigilante doing things on his terms. To them, he is a criminal. Onyx said.

"Yeah, should of figure that out." Ironwood said. That's the same thing with the council and the academies.

"Ha, cops can't accept that someone is doing a better job, sounds like the Vale Police." Romans said as he chuckle to himself.

"They may be like huntsmen but could still get a job done.

"Red, there's one thing that I know and that is the police are useless." Romans said.

"He's not wrong." Qrow said.

"Uncle Qrow!" Ruby shouted in disbelief.

Summer hits his side.

"What! I'm just saying. Huntsmen could do it better." Qrow said as he tries to defend himself.

"See even birdbrain agrees." Romans said.

The screen cuts again to show more text.

A WB GAMES - MONTREAL Production

Reporters: Captain Gordon, Captain Gordon!

Gordon: No further questions. No further QUESTIONS.

We then see a butler walk up and hold a food tray with a covering on top, the camera moves up and shows that it's Bruce's trusted Butler, Alfred.

"Still think Klein is better." Weiss said as she remembers the insult from earlier.

"Wish I had a butler." Yang said. Then Yang smiles deviously.

"Hey Blake would-" Yang was cut off.

"No." Blake said quickly.

"But you-" Yang didn't get to say anything.

"I know what your thinking and the answers is no." Blake said firmly.

"Not fair." Yang said as she cross her arms.

"Weiss has.. interesting friends." Willow told Winter.

"I'm meet them at Beacon. They are a, odd bunch, but they seem to make Weiss happy." Winter said. Willow hums as she looks back at Weiss.

Police Dispatcher: (over the radio) All units, all units, code ten at Blackgate Prison. Communication is down. Possible 2-11.

Police Officer 1: (over the radio) Delta 6-4, en route.

Alfred places the tray on the table as the covering reflects a picture of Bruce and his parents. Alfred moves as he looks at the TV screen as it shows an image of Black Mask.

Everyone remembers how Bruce parents were killed. Some were still mad that happen to a child like Bruce.

They also see the image of Black Mask.

"Whoa, who's the guy in the Mask." Mercury said.

That would be one of Batman's villains known as Black Mask. He's like a Mob Boss. Onyx said.

"Black Mask. He could of gone for a better name. But sounds cool." Sun said.

"Mob boss eh, I think that good. And finally someone with good fashion sense." Roman said. He sees himself as a Mob boss to some extant, but nothing beats it than doing things yourself.

"Definitely has that Mafia vibe to him." Coco said as she looked at the villain.

Police Officer 2: (over the radio) Dispatch. 5-9. Confirm code 10 - this is a break out?

Police Dispatcher: (over the radio) Suspect identified as Black Mask. Repeat: code 10, suspect is Black Mask. All units at Blackgate. Code 6. Code 6. Commissioner Loeb being held captive. Repeat. Commissioner Loeb is 701.

"Huh. Why do I get the feeling I'm going to like this more than I should be." Mercury said. He's not that much into superheroes. But something in Batman's story just clicks with him and doesn't know why.

"You say something." Emerald said.

"No just thinking out loud." Mercury said.

Hearing this, Bruce opens up his suit locker and waits for it as it comes out from the floor. Once it was out he started gearing up. Putting on his gloves, getting some gadgets and he puts on his cowl as he looks at the screen.

"Whoa someone is getting ready." Jaune said.

"He is totally going to destroy Black Mask." Nora said.

"Oh man, I want to see all of his gears, vehicles and weapons." Ruby said as she bounce in her set.

"Ruby he doesn't use weapons." Summer said.

"I know I meant like his tools he uses to fight with." Ruby said.

The screen cuts one last time as it shows the title.

BATMAN - Arkham Origins

"Arkham Origins. Is this going to be a trilogy of sort." Ozpin said.

Damnit Oz. Was trying to make this a surprised. But yes this is a trilogy. Onyx said.

"Oh Yeah, are going to watch Batman begins as a superhero." Ruby said.

Onyx nods. Ruby seems pleased with that.

I know Ruby is into being a huntress and stuff. But this is going to get very dark like really fast. Onyx whisper to Summer and Tai.

"That Ruby for you." Tai said.

"Some times I wonder if this is a good thing." Tai said.

"It's what she wants to do Tai. She wants to be just like me." Summer said.

"I know." He said.

Bruce starts walking down a runway as he pushes a few buttons on his wrist glove. As he did the Batwing was seen as it was activated. The engine turned on and was roaring loudly. Bruce continues walking.

Alfred: You do realize it is Christmas Eve, sir?

Alfred had a somewhat sadden look on his face as he saw Bruce leave.

"Aw." Some notice Alfred sad expression.

"He leaving on Christmas Eve." Ruby said.

He's a hero. They don't usually get breaks that often. Onyx said.

"He is seeing his son leave pretty much." Ironwood said.

"Damn that hits harder when you realize that." Qrow said.

Without answering Bruce gets into his seat. It moved up into the cockpit of the Batwing as he started lifting the ship into the air. Alfred stood by as he watched Bruce.

Bruce turns the Batwing towards the cave exit and blasts off into the night sky.

"He didn't even say goodbye." Ruby said with a quite tone.

"This is not your everyday hero." Summer said. She knows that this is going to be a dark and gritty story.

Ooh. Oh. This is the cool part. Onyx said as he points at the screen.

We then see him fly over what looks like a very maxed out security prison. He flies over head and ejects himself as he is seen dive bombing at a very fast pace. He opens his cape, which makes him look like a bat.

He starts gliding down and does a superhero landing, he looks up and slowly stands up. Looking like a complete badass when doing it.

Woo, yeah superhero landing. Onyx said as he claps his hands. You know, that is really hard on the knees. He added.

"How is it hard?" Jaune asked. He always wanted to do a superhero landing.

Well if your not careful you could break your whole body. Onyx said.

"Good thing we got aura, now we could do all the superhero landings." Sun said with a grin..

"He looks so freaking cool." Ruby said with stars in her eyes.

"He is definitely a badass." Yang said.

"Pyrrha did a superhero landing, it didn't look hard on her knees." Nora said.

That's because she rolled and did a stance. Doesn't count. Looked cool though. Onyx said.

"I have?" Pyrrha said surprised.

"Yeah, when you fought Cardin's team." Nora said. She quickly looks at the direction of Cardin and his team.

"Remember Cardin, remember. Remember how fun it was." Nora said as she tries to get under his skin.

"I remember." Cardin said not looking back. It was bringing back some unpleasant memories.

"I couldn't sit for like a week." Russel said as he rubs his back.

"I'm Sorry!" Pyrrha said quickly.

"That is one decked out prison." Qrow said.

"Yeah, but why is Black Mask breaking in." Tai.

"Either to get someone out. Or he is looking for something." Roman said. Everyone looked at him.

"What! It the most logically conclusion." Roman said as it was common knowledge. "I did it. But only because fire bitch made me." Roman added to insult Cinder. He knows she can't do anything here.

"Let's just... get back to the movie." Summer said. This might get ugly.

-BLACKGATE PRISON-

Batman looks around and sees that he is in cell block A. He sees one of the doorways was destroyed and walks up to it.

Batman: Looks like Black Mask entered the prison here. I need to find Commissioner Loeb - before it's too late.

"I hope he saves the Commissioner in time."

"I get the feeling that there is going to be something bad." Ironwood said. There is a reason for black mask to go into the prison.

Batman crouches and walks underneath it. He starts walking down the stairwell and hears two people talking.

Warden Joseph: He said he'd leave my family alone if I did what he asked…

Mobster: I hope he keeps his word. Thing is, you ain't gonna live to find out. Sorry, Warden. Black Mask can't leave no loose ends lyin' around.

"By the sound of it. It sounds like this is how Black Mask got in." Roman said.

"Why would he let criminals in." Ruby said.

"Didn't you hear. He threaten the guy family. I would of thought you would of gone that, little miss huntress." Roman said.

Ruby was going to say something but held back.

Batman sees that the entire hallway was destroyed, he sees holes in the walls and pipes lines cutting into the hallway now. He sees an opening and crouches to pass through. As he did he sees Warden Joseph walk into view as one of the criminal thugs walk up to him.

"So he's the Warden of this prison." Winter said. She can't believe they let criminals have this much firepower.

Warden Joseph: What are you waiting for? If you're gonna do it, get it over with. No! Please!

The Modster hits Joseph across the face with a wooden bat. He slowly walks above the down Warden.

Some filched when the man was hit.

"I forgot aura doesn't exist in this world." Blake said.

Mobster: Oh I'll kill ya all right. But by the time I do that eye won't be the only thing you're missin'.

Warden Joseph: What is that!? Behind you?

Mobster: Oh, come'on. 'spect me to fall for that? I mean, try something original, you - (he sees Batman shadow and turns around.) Ahh! Back off?

As the Mobster swings the bat Batman counters it and breaks it. He then elbows the man and grabs the Mobster by the throat. He criminals let out muffled screams as Batman grabs his arm and throws him onto the ground. He then grabs his hand and breaks it before kicking the Mobster out cold.

"Oh damn he took him out in seconds." Sun said.

"That was pretty cool, but not impressive." Mercury said as he lean back.

"Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with you." Yang said. She punches people with single punches.

He looks towards the Warden on the ground.

Warden Joseph: No! Stay away!

"What he's trying to help you idiot." Weiss said.

Joseph grabs a nearby pipe and swings it towards Batman. Again Batman counters it and grabs Joseph's arm and holds him to the ground.

Warden Joseph: Don't hurt me!

Batman lets him go. Joseph looks up and starts moving away in fear.

Warden Joseph: I'd heard the rumors but… You… you're not supposed to be real.

"Why does everyone not believe he's real."

"They can't believe that a single man could caused fear in the criminal world. and they most likely see Batman as a threat to them, because it would seem like the police aren't doing their jobs." Ozpin said.

"Or they just don't like superheroes." Qrow said.

"That could be a factor." Ozpin said.

Batman: Who tore this place apart?

Just as he said that a loud roar was heard from behind a closed door.

"What was that." Some said as they were surprised.

"Does this prison have dragons or something." Roman said. He remembers seeing the giant Wyvern Grimm at Beacon.

Warden Joseph: I don't know what it is - it's huge.

Batman: Where is Black Mask?

Warden Joseph: I - I don't know. He's here for Commissioner Loeb. Maybe one of his men knows where he's headed.

Warden Joseph: What was I supposed to do? He threatened my family! He was going to…

Batman: I don't have time to discuss this - but you and I both know that doesn't make what you did right.

"That was harsh." Ruby said. She though he would try to make the situation better not worse.

He won't see pity in those in power. Even though the man's family would be endanger. It won't matter to someone like Black Mask. Once your use is done. You become useless and would be taking out. Never trust someone like Black Mask. Onyx said.

Cinder smiles. She could get behind that.

Batman leaves and walks through the closed door.

I know I could of done the whole Blackgate Prison. But it was going to be way to long. So I thought of stopping right here.

Next chapter would get right into the prison and see Killer Croc's fight. It going to be awesome.
