The blond haired explosive artist, Deidara woke up and was sitting on a chair. He saw that he was in a dark but bright room and the floor was black and white. He died again after the Edo Tensei was released. He was in his usual Akatsuki cloak.
"What is this place? I know I died unless this is where we go when we die." Deidara said.
"I didn't think I'd be stuck with you, brat." A familiar emotionless voice said. He turned and saw Sasori next to him. He had red short hair and still looked young. He was also in his Akatsuki cloak.
"Sasori? Why are you here? Hm?" He asked.
"I can answer that." A female kind voice replied. They turned in front of them and saw a girl with long silver hair, covered in a purple dress.
"I am the Goddess, Eris and this is the afterlife." She said.
"Goddess? Wait?! Don't tell me that Jashin crap Hidan's been spatting about is actually real?!" Deidara said with annoyance. Eris shivered after hearing that name.
"Please don't mention that god. I still get nightmares from it." She said in a frightened tone.
"How come we weren't brought here last time? I recall dying more than once." Sasori asked.
"It's because of that jutsu that prevented souls from reaching the afterlife." Eris answered sadly. She had been familiar of the shinobi world and its jutsus. She could not understand why the second Hokage would create something that would make the dead fight against their will.
"Now, I looked through both of your lives and you've committed terrible crimes." Eris stated.
"Deidara, your crimes are the bombing of many villages and the deaths of many people." She said.
"That is my art. I have to show the world that my explosion is art." Deidara responded proudly.
"Except that's not art, art is…" Sasori argued but was cut off by Eris.
"Sasori, your crimes are killing people and making them into puppets and brainwashing. And finally, though you two weren't aware of it but you were both working for a group that was plotting to destroy the world." She stated.
"Wait? That's what we've been doing?" Deidara asked.
"I was wondering why we were after the Tailed Beasts." Sasori murmured.
"So what? Are you going to be sending us to hell or something?" Deidara asked.
"Normally, you would due to your actions but that's not why you're here." Eris answered.
"Then why are we here?" Sasori asked.
"How would you two like a second chance? A chance to redeem yourselves. However, there is something you must do." She suggested kindly.
"What are you wanting us to do?" Sasori asked.
"In another world, The Demon King's army has been terrorizing the lives of citizens. Everyone lives in fear of the Demon King's army as they pillage and slaughter. People have refused to be reborn in that world and so the population has been declining. We've been sending people who've died from other worlds into that world along with their bodies and memories intact." Eris explained.
"Wouldn't you be sending them to their deaths if they're that powerful?" Sasori asked.
"We don't send them with nothing. We've given them one gift before they leave. It could be any item of your choosing. For example, a powerful sword or one of those Kekkei Genkai things some of you shinobi have." She answered.
"So we get one choosing of any item?" Deidara asked.
"Correct, but that is only if you accept going to this world." Eris answered.
"Then I'll do it! I'll show this Demon King that he's no match for my art hm!" He grinned. Sasori rolled his eyes in response.
"I'll go as well. This brat might either do something stupid or die young again if I leave him on his own." Sasori said.
"Don't treat me like a kid!" He replied.
"Then, it is decided." Eris smiled. "Now what item would you want?"
"Before I decide, is the language in that world different from ours?" Sasori asked.
"Yes, but that will be transferred to your minds as well as the reading and writing. But there's a small chance that something unfortunate can happen. But I'm sure you two can handle it." Eris said uncomfortably at the end. They didn't really like that answer.
"What do you mean something unfortunate can happen?" Sasori asked.
"The brain may go 'poof' for some people on the knowledge. But like I said, I'm sure you can take it." Eris assured nervously. The two wanted to press further on it but decided to leave it at that.
The two thought for a moment of what item they want. Sasori was the first to answer.
"Could I get the third Kazekage puppet? It's a favorite." Sasori requested.
"I don't like you using people's bodies into puppets but I suppose I'll allow it this once." She answered in disapproval. The puppet was summoned and Sasori put it in one of his scrolls. Eris turned to Deidara.
"Have you decided what you want?" She asked. He thought for a moment then answered.
"Is there a way not to run out of clay?" Deidara asked.
"Yes, it is called unlimited clay. You make it into explosives correct?" Eris answered.
"I'll take that then. At least I won't have to worry about finding more clay. Hm." He said.
A bag full of clay was summoned. Deidara looked inside it and picked it up. He had it strapped around him.
"More clay will be created with the bag's magic as you use it." She explained.
"I'm surprised you would ask that. It's kind of an eternal item." The red haired said.
"It is not eternal Sasori. The clay inside it gets replaced with other clay as I use my art. And I can later use more of it as more clay gets created. Besides my chakra is still limited so I can't use it forever." Deidara explained.
"There's one more thing I forgot to mention. When you leave for this world, what you call chakra and abilities will change into magic instead. You will also be able to learn other magic skills while you're there." Eris explained.
"So in a way, magic is like chakra." Sasori concluded. She nodded.
"As long I can use my art, that's fine with me." Deidara said.
As they finished talking, two circles on the floor beneath them appeared and surrounded by a barrier.
"What's going on?! What's happening?!" The blond exclaimed, looking around. Sasori already figured it out as he was silent. The two began to ascend.
"Deidara, Sasori. I wish you luck in defeating the Demon King and redeeming yourselves. And should you succeed, you'll be granted with any wish of your choosing as a reward." Eris said sweetly.
"Nice! I know what I'll wish for!" Deidara said excitedly.
"And something tells me I won't like it." Sasori groaned.
"Good luck on your journey." She finished as the two transported to the fantasy world and their adventure in destroying the Demon King begins.
