A/N: The amazing Steampunk . Chuckster wanted to help people who are in the middle of social distancing have something to do. She put up offers for prompts on the Facebook page, and I did the same. The following was the request I got. Chuck and Devon guys night. This takes place between season 1 and 2.

Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck

"I'm a little concerned," Chuck admitted. She didn't say anything as he turned around. "Is this okay?" She stood up, walked over to him, and smoothed out wrinkles in his shirt that he couldn't see.

"You look nice," Sarah replied. "Why are you concerned? Did you flash, I told you Lizzie is taken care of."

"I know, I know, but after everything we went through, and how close I came to losing my family, and now Devon wants he and I to go out? We hang out when Ellie goes out with her friends, but Devon is…I don't know. I love the guy, he's the greatest, but…we come from different worlds, Sarah."

"Maybe that's the point, Chuck," Sarah pointed out. "He is going to be your brother-in-law."

Chuck dropped his head. "You're right," he said. He looked up and grinned at her. "How'd I get so lucky to have a fake girlfriend as smart as you?"

"By not being very smart and opening an email from your 'Nemesis.'" She said, using finger quotes. Chuck mouth dropped open in fake shock. "What? It's true."

"It is, isn't it?" he asked, cocking his head to the side. "For someone as smart as I am, I do some pretty dumb things."

She grinned at him and adjusted his collar that needed no adjusting. "For someone who isn't a spy you also do some pretty heroic things," Sarah added.

"You don't usually say that at the time, it's more, 'Stay in the car, Chuck.'"

"And, do you stay in the car?" she asked with a pointed look, but the grin quickly came to her face.

"Noooo," he drawled. "But sometimes the car isn't the safest place."

"Listen, we could discuss your lack of ability to stay in the car all night," Sarah began.

"You have a list of every time I haven't don't you?" Chuck cut in.

"I'm a list person, Chuck, how long are you gonna hold that against me?"

"I'm not holding it against you, I kinda find it adorable, if I'm honest." She gave him a look. "In a you're my fake girlfriend kinda way."

She shook her head. "If you can get back to the point of the conversation."

"There was a point?" he asked, knowing he was pushing his luck now.

"You do know I know 4,382 ways to kill you, right?"

"I swear that number goes up each time you threaten me with it," Chuck replied. "But I see your point."

"Well, thank God!" she muttered. "Do you want me to tail you two, or to stay here with Ellie?" Chuck's eyes widened. "I know the whole Lizzie thing has you a little worried so, I thought I'd check."

"Are you sure you're okay with Ellie, last time there was a four feet in conversation," Chuck reminded her.

"Yes, and your fake girlfriend handled it just fine," Sarah replied, smirking.

He studied her a second. "Just like you do everything," he said in a low voice. He watched her swallow, swore she shivered, and gave her a soft smile. "Thank you for all you do for me, for my family. I'm pretty sure it's not in the CIA playbook all that you do."

"It's my pleasure," she said. He kissed her on the cheek and left the room. She heard him and Devon talking and Ellie call to her. Her hand went to her cheek where he had kissed her. This mission was getting out of control, and she wasn't sure if that was good or bad.

"So, tonight, it's guys night," Devon began.

"And I'm a guy, so I've got that going for me," Chuck replied, grinning.

"Absolutely," Devon agreed. "So, I bet you're wondering why we're doing this?"

"It…might…have crossed my mind," Chuck admitted.

"I understand that in the past when I tried to do stuff with you, it was more from…my world," Devon began. Chuck looked over at him. "I know you're not really into sports and excitement, but I think I found something we both might like from our own point of view."

Chuck was intrigued and as they pulled up to a huge castle, it dawned on Chuck what was going on.

"They actually joust?" Chuck asked, stunned.

"Yep, I've had to work on a few of these guys when they come into the ER after an event," Devon said, holding up the huge turkey leg. "Where do I begin with this thing?"

"Just pick a spot, and when you hit the bone, pick another spot," Chuck said, grinning. They sat there for a second, eating, when Chuck finally got the gumption to ask what was on his mind. "What's it like having a brother?"

Devon sat back, watching Chuck for a moment. "Some days it's a lot," he answered with a shrug. "You have to watch people you care about go through life, and not intervene. My youngest brother has been through a lot, and I wish I knew how to tell him how proud I am of him, of how hard I know his life has been, and that I see him busting his ass."

"Why don't you just tell him?" Chuck asked. "I mean, Ellie and I…we tell each other everything, to our detriment sometimes." He widened his eyes at that making Devon chuckle. "You should call him."

"You think?" Devon asked.

"Yeah, absolutely, you should call him and tell him how proud you are of him, I'm sure he'd appreciate it," Chuck insisted.

"Okay, I will," Devon said pulling out his phone. Chuck kept eating and a few seconds later his phone rang.

"That's weird," he said chuckling. He pulled out his phone and saw Awesome's picture. He looked at Devon, his eyes wide.

"Ouch!" Chuck yelled, watching the man flung from his horse. "I mean I know those ends are rounded but that still has to hurt."

"I bet his ribs are broken," Devon said, taking another swig of his beer. Devon glanced over at Chuck. "Too much?" he asked.

"No, it's just…I didn't know you really thought of me that way," Chuck replied, tears in his eyes. "I mean…that you were proud of me." He blew out a breath. "Awe….Devon, I'm a huge screw up."

"Nah, life just kicked you in the nads," Devon replied. "Over and over, and over, and-"

"I get the idea," Chuck cut in, trying to stop him before his nads physically began to hurt.

"Right, sorry," Awesome said. "I get it, you hid from the world, but the world found you." He turned and looked at him. "She found you."

"Devon," Chuck began.

"Let me say this, Chuck," Devon cut in. "You two love each other, and why you won't admit it, I don't know, but trust me, I know."

Chuck sat there quietly. "I'm not enough for her," Chuck muttered softly.

"No, you think you're not good enough for her, and she sees the real you, the same way you see the real her," Devon said, pointing toward him.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, that girl doesn't think she's enough for you," Devon said with a shrug. "You can see it in her gazes at you."

"Gazes?" Chuck asked, his eyebrows raising.

"Gazes," Devon replied with a head nod. "We should have taken a cab."

Chuck smiled deviously. "I bet I can find us a ride."

"I swear to God if you two throw up in my Vic," Casey growled.

"Wha'tcha gonna do Case, take away my birthday?" Chuck asked, more than a little drunk.

"Why did you let him drink, Devon?" Casey asked.

"Cause he's my brother, and I'm gonna watch out for him," Devon slurred. "Life keeps kickin him in the nads."

"That's right, my nads keep getting kicked," Chuck replied. "The only good thing that happened to my nads is Sarah." Casey blinked and looked into the rearview mirror at Chuck. "Wait…that may have not come out right."

"Awesome," Devon said, grinning.

"She is," Chuck admitted, getting a goofy grin on his face. Casey grinned, glad his surveillance was on in the Vic. This footage was 'accidentally' getting forwarded to Sarah.

Chuck groaned and opened an eye. He felt someone staring at him as he slept. He looked through the haze and saw her standing there, a glass in her hand. "Devon said this will help you recuperate and is, and I quote, 'good for your wang.'" Chuck chuckled and then grabbed his head.

He glanced to the door that was cracked and saw Devon there, giving him a thumbs up. "Welp, I better drink it then, he knows what he's talking about." He reached for it, and Sarah handed it to him, a speculative look on her face.

"Chuck, maybe you shouldn't," she began. He began to drink it. "Oh! Well! I guess…wow, just gonna drink it all, huh?"

"I trust him, he's my brother," Chuck replied, shaking his head at the bitter taste.

"Well, if I was you're real girlfriend, I wouldn't kiss you after drinking that," she said softly, leaning toward him, smirking.

He returned the smirk, "We both know you would," he replied. Her eyes went wide. "How was Ellie last night? Are your feet all in?"

She gave him a look of thanks that he had changed the subject. She began to tell him of her night and Chuck thought about what Devon had said about them. "You know you're amazing, right?" he asked, making her eyes go wide. He shrugged. "I just think sometimes I don't tell you enough."

"Thank you," she said softly. Chuck grinned at her. They'd get there, one day.
