CHAPTER 1: DASH'S FLYER.

Dash was on his way home from school, reading a Wreck-It Ralph comic book, when he spotted something on a nearby poster board. He walked over and looked at it closer before he grabbed it in excitement and rushed home.

Meanwhile, the Parrs and Eric were all napping around the house, when Dash burst in and started yelling, "Guys! Guys! Check this out!"

No one woke up, so Dash sighed, dug an air horn out of his backpack, and 3...2...1...FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTT!

"YIKES!" Violet yelped as she flew in the air.

"WOAH!" Helen and Bob yelled.

"YOW!" Karen yelled.

"ZOINKS!" Eric yelled.

"MAMA MIA!" Mirage yelled.

"JINKIES!" Evelyn shouted.

They all followed Violet as they ended up clinging to the ceiling like a bunch of scared cats. Once they looked down and saw Dash laughing and holding the air horn, they glared as Karen portaled them down in front of him and Eric snatched the air horn.

"What's the big idea, kid?!" Eric asked in an irate manner before Dash showed everyone the flyer. Helen took it.

"Track Meet International Invitational." Helen read.

"Don't miss your chance to become known as the greatest young track star around the world. Join the International Track Invitational. Sign up today. Be advised, the cutoff entry date is February 6th." Mirage read.

"Can I sign up, please?!" Dash asked.

Helen looked at the flyer again with uncertainty, "I don't know, Dash. We would need to pay for hotels and flights." she said before Eric took the flyer.

"Wait, there's more. Transportation and Hotel luxuries are covered by sponsor Capsule Corporation." Eric said.

"Dash, if you're doing this to make our names known, they still are." Evelyn said.

"I know. This time, I'm in it for myself. I wanna prove that I can win something without the use of my super speed." Dash said.

"Well, Dash seems really eager to compete. Let's let him enter." Bob said.

"All right!" Dash said.

"Well, okay, we'll go sign him up later." Karen said.

"Wait, everyone." Dash said.

Everyone looked at him.

"There's one thing I want to do for this. I don't want to use my powers." Dash said, surprising everyone.

"You don't want to use your powers?!" Everyone said.

"No. I want to win this one fair and square." Dash said.

The Parrs and Eric looked at each other before they nodded in agreement.

"All right, Dash. We can help with that." Mirage said.

Later, they put Dash through a machine kept top secret by the NSA, one that could disable powers for a set amount of time. In this case, based on how long the competition would take, Dash wouldn't have his super speed for about two months, plus the one month he'd need for training.

Later, seeing that the time was getting close, the Parrs hurried to the sign-up and managed to get Dash registered.

"Now, Dash, are you sure about this?" Helen asked.

"Positive." Dash said, full of determination.
