The next morning, when Gwen got up out of bed and walked towards her bathroom. As she washed her face, her mind reeled towards Spider-Man, and then Peter, worrying about the job he'd taken to support his Aunt.
"I hope Peter knows what he's doing." she said mentally. "This kind of job could get him killed."
Once she'd bushed her teeth and gotten dressed, she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Once there, she saw her dad had left a note on the table, saying he'd left for work early because of a disturbance at the docks.
"Guess I've got the place to myself." she said, since it was Saturday and there was no school.
She walked towards the front door and picked up the Daily Bugle, seeing a picture of Spider-Man and Shocker on the front page.
"'Spider-Man and Shocker create havoc in City'." she read, before anger went through her. "My dad told me Spider-Man helped capture Shocker!"
She looked at the picture carefully, but then saw the words 'Photo by Peter Parker' in the bottom right corner.
"Pete took this." she said, impressed slightly. "If it weren't for the fact this job's dangerous, I'd say he's found the right job to help his Aunt."
She sighed and walked back into the kitchen to get breakfast, looking at the clock, seeing it was 8 o'clock.
Later that day, Peter was in Central Park, waiting for Eddie, as they'd agreed to meet there. He looked a his watch, and saw it as 9:15, 15 minutes later than Eddie had asked him.
"Eddie, what's keeping you?" he wondered quietly, looking around.
He then heard a screaming noise, making him turn around, and saw he Mary Jane running away from a man with four Metallic Arms, in a green and yellow outfit, wearing dark sunglasses over his eyes.
"You shouldn't have seen me, girl!" the man sneered.
He put two of his metal arms down, allowing him to stand above the ground on them, before he stretched another out and picked MJ up with it.
"I have no time for nosy visitors!" he snarled.
A few people around looked scared, before a woman spotted something coming in.
"It's Spider-Man!" she called, pointing at him.
"Huh?" the man muttered, turning around.
Spider-Man swung down on a web-line and then kicked the man with both feet, causing him to loose balance on his metal arms, and making him drop MJ, who Spider-Man caught.
"You okay?" he asked, before putting her down.
"Yeah." MJ said. "Thanks."
"You shouldn't have bugged your way in here, Spider-Man!" the man snapped.
Spider-Man turned to him, before turning slightly back to MJ.
"Get outta here!" he told her.
"Don't have to tell me twice." MJ said, before she turned and ran off.
"Just who are you?!" Spider-Man demanded, turning to the man.
"You dare question the supreme scientist known as Doctor Octopus!" the man snapped.
"Doc Ock?" Spider-Man questioned, dodging one of the tentacles. "Never heard of him."
"AHH!" Doc Ock growled, sending one of his tentacles at him.
Spider-Man somersaulted sideways to the left, then flipped over another of the tentacles, before shooting webbing from his right hand at Doc Ock, locking his two top tentacles together.
"You think your Spider Powers can compare to my unbreakable hydraulic tentacles?!" Doc Ock inqured, snapping the web in half, freeing his tentacles.
"He snapped the web like it was...thread!" Spider-Man gasped.
Doc Ock laughed evilly as he sent another tentacle at Spider-Man, who dodged out of the way, just as they both heard Police Sirens nearby.
A crowd of people gathered around, just as the police showed up, including Gwen, who pushed her way to the front.
"What's going on?" she asked, before she saw Doc Ock launch a tentacle at Spider-Man.
Spider-Man's Spider Sense tingled, and the he dodged just before the tentacle hit him. He then landed on top of a street light, then jumped off it as Doc Ock tried to whack him with two tentacles, just as six Police Cars showed up, three on either side of the villain.
Doc Ock turned, as the officers - including Capt. Stacy - got out of the cars.
"Give up, we have you surrounded!" Capt. Stacy demanded through a bullhorn.
Doc Ock growled as he looked around, before one of his tentacles stretched out and wrapped around the nearest person he found, which turned out to be Gwen.
"Huh?" Gwen gasped, before Doc Ock reeled her in. "AHHH!"
"Hold your fire!" Capt. Stacy ordered.
His men lowered their guns, as Doc Ock turned to Spider-Man.
"You dare follow me, and this little girl will die!" Doc Ock threatened.
He turned and began scaling up a wall, with Gwen clutched tight in one of his tentacles.
"HELP!" Gwen cried, trying to get free.
"GWEN!" her father cried, looking up at her.
Spider-Man watched in horror as the girl he loved got carried away.
"Gwen!" he gasped in his head. "I won't let that man take her!"
He jumped up and began crawling up the wall as fast as he could, just as Doc Ock made it to the top.
"Get my daughter back, Spider-Man." Capt. Stacy pleaded quietly.
Once Spider-Man got close to the roof, he jumped up and landed on it.
"Okay, Ock, it's..." he began.
He looked around, and saw no sign of Doc Ock or Gwen.
"Oh, I don't believe it!" he moaned, covering his eyes in anger.
Capt. Stacy looked up as Spider-Man came down towards him, upside down on a web-line like a yo-yo.
"I'm sorry, Capt." Spider-Man said. "But I promise you, I'll get your daughter back."
"Please." Capt. Stacy said softly. "She's the only famliy I have."
"You can count on it." Spider-Man promised, before he swung off.
Later, in Central Park, Eddie Brock was waiting around on the birdge, when Peter came towards him.
"Hey, bro." Eddie said. "You're late."
"Sorry, Eddie." Peter said. "I heard some comotion nearby and went to check it out, you know since-"
"Because of your new job at the Daily Bugle?" Eddie inquired, folding his arms.
"How'd you guess?" Peter asked curiously.
Eddie brought out today's issue of the Bugle, showing one of Peter's picture of Spider-Man on the front page.
"Oh." Peter said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Yeah." Eddie replied, putting the newspaper in his jacket pocket. "So what happened?"
"Gwen was kidnapped by this weird guy with four metallic arms." Peter explained.
"What?" Eddie gasped. "I take it Capt. Stacy isn't happy?"
"No, he's not." Peter replied, worried himself.
"Well, I was gonna tell you Dr. Connors was impressed by your science work." Eddie explained. "But since you've already got a job to support your Aunt..."
"Eddie, look, tell him I appreciate the offer, but I really need the money." Peter said.
"I understand, Pete." Eddie said. "Anyway, I've been doing more research in what our parents were doing before they died."
"And?" Peter asked.
"I haven't found much, but I did find a file saying they were working under someone called Bolivar Trask." Eddie explained.
"Trask?" Peter questioned. "I've heard of that name from somewhere, but I just can't remember."
"I know." Eddie said. "If you find anything at the Bugle, let me know will ya?"
"Sure, but not until I know Gwen's alright." Peter promised. "You know how much I care for her."
"I know, bro." Eddie said, before he walked off.
Meanwhile, in a warehouse, Gwen was tied up against a support up high, staring down at Doc Ock, who was working on something.
"You mind telling me what you want with me?" Gwen inquired sharply.
"Oh, it's not you I want, my dear." Doc Ock smirked, turning to her. "It's money I need to purchase equipment for my experiments."
"Well, you've made a bad move, Mr.!" Gwen snarled. "It's not wise to kidnap the Police Capt.'s daughter!"
"Which makes you a more valuable hostage, Miss. Stacy." Doc Ock smirked.
Gwen gulped as Doc Ock laughed evilly.
"Spider-Man, whoever you are, please save me!" Gwen begged in her head, closing her eyes.
Later, Peter walked into the Daily Bugle, where he saw Robbie and Ned both standing near a door.
"What's going on?" Peter asked.
"Boss is having a word with Capt. Stacy and Dr. Connors." Ned explained.
"Turns out Doc Connors knows the kidnapper." Robbie explained.
"That's weird." Peter remarked, scratching his head.
The door then opened, then Jameson, Dr. Connors and Capt. Stacy came out the room.
"I'm sure your daughter's okay, Capt. Stacy." Dr. Connors assured. "I know Dr. Octavius better than anyone, and he's not the type to kill."
"Dr. Octavius? Otto Octavius?!" Peter questioned in his head. "No way!"
(Flashback)
11-year-old Peter and his Uncle Ben walked towards a camp.
"I remember meeting Dr. Octavius when I was a Science Camp when I was a kid."
Dr. Octavius, who had normal glasses on, walked towards Peter and shook his hand.
"He was my favourite teacher over there."
Dr. Octavius showed Peter and the rest of the class a liquid experiment.
"I wonder what's changed him?"
(Flashback ends)
Peter snapped out of his thoughts, and saw Capt. Stacy talking to Jameson again.
"Um, who did you say?" Peter asked.
Dr. Connors turned to him. "Dr. Octavius." he replied. "Why?"
"Well, it's just...he's one of my old teachers." Peter explained. "This doesn't sound like him at all."
"Yeah, well... There's something you need to know then." Dr. Connors said.
He began telling Peter what happened to the good doctor.
At the warehouse, Doc Ock was telling the same story to Gwen.
"You see, I was once a normal scientist..." Doc Ock began.
(Flashback)
Otto Octavius shows two scientists his latest invention, which is a fusion reactor.
"..until my colleagues made fun of my latest invention."
The two scientists laughed, making Otto furious.
"Those weak-minded fools, couldn't believe how my great fusion reactor was. They called it really stupid."
Later, Otto attached four metallic arms to his body, then puts them to work in making a bigger generator.
"I was so determined to prove them wrong, but since my research grant was cut, I couldn't afford vital safeguards."
He used two of his arms to pull open a valve slowly, but he pulled on it too hard, causing stream to come out of it.
"But my incompetence was my undoing."
Otto gasped before the entire warehouse he was in blew up.
"But it was also my fortune."
Two metallic arms lifted off some of the debris, and then Doc Ock emerged from the rubble.
"Dr. Octavius died that day, and Dr. Octopus was born!"
Doc Ock laughed evilly.
(Flashback ends)
Gwen looked at the doctor.
"Is that how those arms got attached to you?" she asked nervously.
"Brilliant deduction, Miss. Stacy." Doc Ock commented. "You're smarter than you look."
"Um...I am one of the smartest in my year." Gwen blushed, embarrassed.
"Hmm?" Doc Ock muttered, turning away.
Gwen went into deep thought. "I know Spider-Man will save me. He may have only been around for two months, but he's really been helping the city." she said in her head.
Back at the Daily Bugle, Jameson was giving a news report, with Robbie, Peter and the rest of the staff, as well as Capt. Stacy and Dr. Connors, watching.
"This is J. Jonah Jameson reporting in, to tell of that a kidnapping has taken place." he reported.
(Across the city)
People all over were watching the news, some standing outside a building looking at multiple TVs.
"The victim of the..."
While some watched in their homes.
"..kidnapping is the daughter..."
At the Football Stadium in Midtown High, Flash, Randy, Liz and several other people were watching from Randy's handheld TV, the Footballers haven gone there to practice.
"..of Police Captain George Stacy..."
In Harry's house, Harry and Mary Jane were both watching from Harry's room.
"..Gwen Stacy."
"Gwen, kidnapped?" Harry gasped.
"It's true." Mary Jane assured. "I saw the whole thing."
(Midtown High)
"Whoever kidnapped Gwen must be crazy." Liz said, turning to Flash.
"I know what you mean." Flash agreed. "It's not wise to kidnap the Police Capt.'s daughter."
"Well, I wonder who did it?" Randy shrugged.
"The perpetrator is a man with four metallic arms by the name of Doctor Octopus, who mostly likely was aided by Spider-Man!" Jameson went on.
The screen showed a picture of Spider-Man and Doc Ock facing each other.
"That's a lie!" Flash snapped. "Spider-Man's a hero!"
"How can you be sure?" Randy asked, confused.
"Because he saved our lives, Randy!" Liz snapped, making everyone turn to her.
(Osborn manor)
Mary Jane and Harry were both frowning themselves.
"There's no way Spider-Man would do that!" Harry snapped. "He saved my life from that Vulture guy!"
"Not to mention he saved me this morning." Mary Jane argued, moving towards him unnoticeably.
"Then why does Jameson think he's a menace?" Harry wondered.
"That...I don't know." Mary Jane shrugged.
(Daily Bugle)
"And with that, I urge anyone seeing Spider-Man to report him in immediately." Jameson urged.
Capt. Stacy and Peter frowned slightly, the latter because he hated Jameson accusing him of kidnapping Gwen, and the former because he knew Spider-Man was a hero.
"We'll have more information about this once we get a ransom demand." Jameson assured.
The cameras then cut broadcasting.
"Well, how was it?" Jameson asked.
"Jonah, why did you call Spider-Man a menace?" Robbie asked, coming towards him.
Before Jameson could ask, the phone rang near them.
"Hello." Jameson said, answering it.
"Jameson, I saw your report just now." came the sneering voice of Doc Ock.
"I'll put you on speaker." Jameson said.
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
"No!" Doc Ock snapped. "I insist on talking to you alone!"
"But Capt. Stacy's here with me!" Jameson argued angrily. "It's his daughter you've got you know."
"Fine!" Doc Ock sighed. "But only you two!"
(Daily Bugle)
Jameson put his hand over the phone and turned to everyone.
"Everyone be quiet." he said. "He'll only speak with me and Capt. Stacy."
Capt. Stacy walked towards him as everyone else backed away, then Jameson put the phone on speaker.
"Alright, it's just the two of us." Jameson said.
"Let me speak to my daughter?!" Capt. Stacy demanded worriedly.
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
"No harm in that, I guess." Doc Ock smirked.
He put his phone into one of his metallic arms, then lifted it up to Gwen.
"Your father." he snarled.
"Dad!" Gwen gasped, panic in her voice.
(Daily Bugle)
"Gwen!" Capt. Stacy gasped. "If you-"
"Don't worry, I won't." Doc Ock assured. "She's more use to me alive."
"What do you want?!" Jameson snapped, banging the table with his fist.
"I want 1 million dollars in ransom." Doc Ock replied.
"1 million!" Jameson gasped. "But that's-"
"Don't make any rash decisions. I'll give you 2 hours to decide." Doc Ock said, before he hanged up.
Jameson and Capt. Stacy turned to each other.
As the time went by, people were debating on what to do, but they had gathered the money up for the ransom, but Peter was thinking long and hard.
"I know for a fact he'll hurt Gwen once the ransom's delivered. And Spider-Man can't risk going in there with whoever's delivering the ransom...unless it was Peter Parker." he thought.
"What time is it?" Betty asked, turning to Ned.
"Less than 5 minutes before he'll call again." Ned replied, checking his watch.
Peter ran over to Jameson, Robbie and Capt. Stacy.
"Robbie, listen, I think I know what Dr. Octavius game is." he said.
"Not now, Parker!" Jameson snapped.
"Wait, hear him out!" Capt. Stacy said. "He's friends with my daughter."
"Okay." Jameson sighed, folding his arms.
"Well, I think I know what Ock's deal is here." Peter explained.
"How can you be sure?" Capt. Stacy inquired.
"Because he was my teacher when I was a kid." Peter explained. "We're tampering with science, which is his love. Maybe I have a way of convincing him to let Gwen go as I know he better than most."
The phone then rang before anyone could argue, and then Jameson put it on speaker.
"That you, Dr.?" Jameson inquired.
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
Doc Ock once again had the phone in his normal hand, as Gwen watched from her tied up position.
"Good guess, Jameson." he remarked. "Do you have the ransom money?"
(Daily Bugle)
"Yes, we have it." Jameson replied. "But there's someone here who says he knows you."
"If it's Dr. Curt Connors-" Doc Ock began.
"No." Capt. Stacy cut in. "His name's Peter Parker."
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
"Peter Parker?" Doc Ock questioned, raising his eyebrows in shock. "Let me speak to him."
(Daily Bugle)
"So you do know, Parker?" Jameson inquired.
"He was one of students years ago." Doc Ock replied sharply. "Now put him on!"
"I'm here." Peter assured.
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
Doc Ock gasped slightly.
"So it really is you, Parker." he said surprised.
Gwen turned slightly, gasping quietly upon hearing Peter's last name.
(Daily Bugle)
"Yeah. It's been a while, Doc." Peter assured.
"It sure has been." Doc Ock replied.
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
Doc Ock turned to Gwen.
"I take it you're not quite happy with what I've done?" he assumed.
"No, not quite." Peter replied. "Look, I heard about your accident."
"I had a feeling you might've." Doc Ock said. "Due to my grant cut, I had to try and make my fusion reactor without the proper safeguards."
(Daily Bugle)
"So I take it you need the ransom to buy those safeguards?" Peter assumed.
"Well...that and to get the parts I need to build a full model of the fusion reactor I'm working on." Doc Ock replied. "I've actually built a small model of it right now, if you're interested."
"Yeah, I'd give anything to see that." Peter assured, before winking at Jameson and Capt. Stacy.
(Doc Ock's warehouse)
"Then you're the prefect one to deliver the ransom to me, and after that, I'll show it to you." Doc Ock promised. "And release the lovely Miss. Stacy of course."
"Promise?" Peter asked.
"Promise." Doc Ock assured, grinningly.
(Daily Bugle)
"Okay. When and where?" Peter asked.
"8 o'clock tonight, at warehouse 17 at the docks." Doc Ock replied.
"I'll be there with the money." Peter promised.
Doc Ock then hanged up, and then Peter turned the phone off.
"You sure about this, kid?" Capt. Stacy asked.
"I'll be okay." Peter assured.
Robbie then came over with a case.
"Well, here's the money, Peter." he said, handing Peter the case. "And good luck."
"Thanks, Robbie." Peter said.
At exactly 8pm, Peter walked towards Doc Ock's warehouse.
"I hope this works." Peter hoped.
He opened the warehouse door, and saw it was completely dark.
"That's weird?" he wondered.
He looked around slightly, when a bright light came out of nowhere, and then he saw Gwen tied up on the support.
"Peter!" she cried.
Doc Ock then came out of the light and walked towards Peter on two of his metallic arms.
"Is that the money?" Doc Ock asked.
"Yeah, right here." Peter assured, holding the case out.
Doc Ock took it with one of his metallic arms, then pulled it towards him, before he took it with his real arms.
"Excellent." he grinned, opening it up, seeing the right amount of money. "Now, to see you my fusion reactor."
"What about Gwen?" Peter asked.
"Oh, her, I'll release her after I've shown you." Doc Ock promised.
Gwen gulped, not liking this at all.
About 20 minutes later, Doc Ock had shown Peter the model of his fusion reactor, both of them now standing on either side of it, as Gwen looked down from where she was tied up.
"With this kind of fusion reactor, a dozen Nuclear Power Plants could be replaced, and nuclear energy could be a lot safer." Doc Ock explained.
"But, the last time you tried this-" Peter began.
"You're right, Mr. Parker; it blew up." Doc Ock answered. "But that explosion that destroyed my laboratory that day, also fused these arms to my spine."
"A bit...creepy, huh?" Peter said.
"Well, sort of." Doc Ock replied.
"Okay, I've seen your reactor, now let Gwen go?" Peter asked. "You promised you would."
"I know I did...but there's been a change in plans." Doc Ock smirked evilly.
He grabbed Peter by wrapping one of his metallic arms around him, and then he flung him out through a high window.
"Peter!" Gwen cried, tears coming from her eyes. "You monster!"
"Monster?!" Doc Ock exclaimed, turning to her. "Oh, I'll show you who's a monster, missy!"
He raised one of his metallic arms towards Gwen, who screamed worriedly, thinking Peter was head.
"Don't touch her!" a voice bellowed.
Gwen opened her eyes as Doc Ock turned around, and they both saw Spider-Man leaning against a wall.
"Spider-Man, how did you find me?!" Doc Ock demanded.
"Must be my sense of smell." Spider-Man joked.
In reality, he'd managed to grab hold of the wall after being thrown out of the window, and had quickly changed after ducking down behind some creates.
"You'll pay for coming here, you wall-crawling!" Doc Ock snapped, sending two of his tentacles at Spider-Man.
Spider-Man dodged past one, then he jumped over the other as it banged into the wall.
Gwen smiled happily, impressed by his moves, her heart beating like she knew him.
Spider-Man then landed on the floor, when one of Doc Ock's tentacles whacked him against a set of crates, and then another wrapped itself around him.
"You really are beginning to get on my nerves, Spider-Man!" Doc Ock snapped, pulling him towards him.
"Well, you're starting to annoy me, Ock!" Spider-Man retorted annoyingly.
He then shot webbing out of his right hand, which hit Doc Ock's sunglasses, blinding him.
"AHH!" he moaned, as he tried to pull it off with his real hands. "I can't see!"
He began waving around his metallic arms.
"Come on, let me go!" Spider-Man said.
The arm around him then loosened, allowing him to break free, and then he back flipped towards the ground.
"I've gotta find something to disable a few of those arms." he thought.
He looked around carefully, as Doc Ock kept pulling on the web, before Spider-Man spotted an electro magnet on the ceiling.
"That's it, I just need to find the controls." he realized.
He turned and saw a control panel nearby right near the magnet.
Doc Ock then ripped the webbing off his glasses, and then he turned and saw Spider-Man moving towards the electro magnet controls.
"Hey, metal arms, over here!" Spider-Man called.
Doc Ock began charging at him, but then stopped when he saw Spider-Man reach for the controls, and saw the electro magnet above him.
"No fool am I, Spider-Man." he said. "I won't fall for that old trick!"
"Blast!" Spider-Man hissed in his head.
He looked around, trying to find some way to lure Doc Ock towards the magnet.
"That's it." he thought, spotting the reactor.
He ran towards it and then picked it up.
"Get away from that!" Doc Ock panicked.
"Tell you what, I'll make a trade with you: Your life's work for my friend over there!" Spider-Man shouted, turning to him.
He tossed the reactor forward, making Doc Ock panic and run towards it. He then caught it with his metallic arms before realized too late that he was under the electro magnet.
"Yes!" Spider-Man cheered, before he fiddled with the controls.
The electro magnet then came on.
"AHHH!" Doc Ock screamed, as his metallic arms were pulled towards it.
Once they reached the magnet, they stuck to it, preventing him from moving an inch, shocking him slightly, knocking him out cold.
Spider-Man swung towards Gwen as she turned to him, before he landed on the support above her.
"You okay, Miss. Stacy?" he asked, as he began untying her left arm.
"Yeah, I am now." Gwen assured happily, as Spider-Man untied her right arm.
"That's good." Spider-Man said. "You better get outside before the police show up."
"Right." Gwen understood. "But could you at least get me down onto the floor?"
"Sure." Spider-Man said. "Hold on tight."
He turned around, then Gwen wrapped her arms around his shoulders, before he jumped down off the support.
"AHH!" Gwen screamed.
Spider-Man then shot a web-line out of his right hand, which then hit the ceiling, and then he lowered himself and Gwen down slowly.
"How do you get not scared being this high?" Gwen asked, as she got off Spider-Man.
"To be honest, before I got my powers, I was scared too." Spider-Man explained, before shooting webbing at Doc Ock. "But once I got my powers, the fear vanished."
"Really?" Gwen asked, surprised.
"Yeah." Spider-Man replied, before tossing a note beneath Doc Ock.
"Well, thanks for saving me, Spider-Man." Gwen said, hugging him tight.
Spider-Man was caught off guard, and then his heart beating rapidly.
"I hope she doesn't just like the Spider me." he hoped, as he went into a daydream.
(Daydream)
Peter and Gwen were dancing around alone in the park, under the moonlight.
"You're so beautiful." Peter whispered.
"Thanks." Gwen blushed happily. "I love you."
"I love you too." Peter said.
They leaned close together and then kissed passionately.
"Hey, you okay?" Gwen asked.
(Daydream ends)
"Oh, yeah." Spider-Man blushed, snapping out of his thoughts.
He saw that Gwen had backed off slightly.
"You just caught me off guard, that's all." he assured.
"Well, thanks again." Gwen said. "Jameson's got you completely wrong."
She turned around and ran out of the warehouse, and then Spider-Man jumped onto the wall and quickly climbed towards the window.
Once Gwen was out the warehouse, she looked around and saw Spider-Man jumped behind a crate.
"Where's he going?" she wondered.
Out of curiosity, she ran after him, just as he hid behind a large crate near a crane. She peeked out from the corner, then gasped quietly, making her cover her mouth, not believing her eyes. Spider-Man had taken off his mask, reveling himself to be Peter, but he didn't know that as Gwen was behind him. She hid behind the crate and ran back to the warehouse, just as four police cars showed up outside, and then the officers inside, including her father, got out the cars.
"Dad!" Gwen cried happily, running towards him.
"Gwen." Capt. Stacy said happily, turning to her.
Gwen ran towards her father and then hugged him tightly, tears of happiness in her eyes.
"Oh, Gwen, I'm so glad you're alright." her father said.
"I'm fine, Dad, thanks to Spider-Man." Gwen assured, backing away, wiping her tears. "He took care of that doctor as well."
Capt. Stacy turned to his men, just as one came out with the piece of paper Spider-Man had dropped.
"Well, where is he anyway?" Capt. Stacy asked. "I want to thank him."
"He already left." Gwen said. "But I thanked him for you."
"That's my girl." Capt. Stacy said, ruffling her hair. "But where's Peter."
"Oh..." Gwen stuttered, as she felt she couldn't tell her father Peter was Spider-Man. "That crazy Doctor-"
"I'm over here." Peter called, coming out from behind the crate.
Both Stacy's turned to him, as he ran towards them, his clothes looking slightly soaked.
"Must be his way of avoiding people finding out." Gwen thought.
"What happened to you?" Capt. Stacy inquired.
"That Doc Ock guy threw me out the window." Peter lied. "I was lucky I hit the water so close to boardwalk."
"Yes, I guess it was." Capt. Stacy said. "I'll make sure that Doc's put away for a long time."
"Thanks." Peter said. "Well, I better go. My Aunt's probably getting worried."
"Well, see you tomorrow, Pete." Gwen said, waving.
"See ya." Peter called, as he ran off.
Later that night, at the Stacy House, Gwen lay in her bed, unable to sleep, not believing what she'd found out about Spider-Man after being rescued earlier.
"Peter is Spider-Man?" she questioned. "But how?"
She thought long and hard but wasn't able to come up with an answer.
"How did this happen to Peter, and why would he do something this dangerous?" Gwen thought worriedly. "I might have to tell him how I feel in case I don't get another chance."
She turned onto her side and fell asleep, but her dreams were filled with Peter - as Spider-Man - doing something dangerous that might get him killed, making her toss and turn.
In a prison called the Vault, Doc Ock sat in the middle of a cell, his four metallic arms being held in the corners, preventing him from moving. Inside other cells, including other known criminals who are very dangerous to the public, and known supervillains, including Vulture and Shocker.
"They think they can keep me in here, like a fish in a barrel?" he questioned. "I'll find my way outta here, even if it does take a while, for Doctor Octopus is cleaver and smart!"
He laughed evilly, his laugh echoing down the hallway, waking some of the other inmates up, including Vulture and Shocker, both of which had lost their suits when they were locked up.
"What an annoying laughter." Shocker mumbled, before he sat on his bed.
Vulture huffed, obviously unamused before he laid down on his bed.
A/N: While I appreciate all the people who've favoured this story, can I please get people reviewing it? I just find it weird not many people reviewing this, since it's in my own universe.
