Hello readers
So, based on my friend Aragorn II Elessar's Smallville vs Arrowverse- Survival of the fittest stories I decided to use a similar type of idea for this story.
Pretty much I break the fourth wall with having two characters compare and constant their strengths and weakness to each other being similar characters to see who's better.
In this, it's River Song vs Romana.
Outskirts of Gallifrey
Romana in her second regeneration's body is wearing a crimson frockcoat, a gold brocade waistcoat, a white shirt, beige trousers, and brown boots. Meanwhile, some several feet away is River Song is in grey pants, and a long-sleeve white jacket, with a white shirt underneath.
"So, your Romanadvoratrelundar, wow sweetie no wonder you prefer Romana or Fred cause that's a mouthful" River notes.
"You can stop calling me sweetie, I'm not interested in flirting with you," Romana says.
"Well dear, even your interest in the Doctor never got to happen on screen. I actually got to marry him on screen while your romantic interest with The Doctor is only done by fans in forum posts, theories or fan fiction" River points out "And no those 1980, television commercials in Australia for Prime Computers you're your actress Ward and Baker, performing as Romana and the Doctor do not count. Despite being advertisements having romance between you two, culminating in the Doctor proposing marriage to Romana is not official."
Lightly wincing "Very true, however, at least my marriage was not because I was five seconds away from destroying the universe since you apparently loved The Doctor so much, and got getting to be married with walking away without punishment," Romana says.
"I just wanted to let The Doctor know how much he was loved in the universe and once that done I even agreed to let him die. You know I got imprisoned in storm cage, right dear?" River asks.
"Which hardly was anything since you frequently escaped from there or The Doctor whisked you into the TARDIS for adventures. Let's face it, Professor Song, your romance with The Doctor has some holes. One time you're trying to kill him in Berlin, the next you can't live without him and zero reasons given for that 180 shift" Romana says.
"What are you talking about? Throughout all my appearances The Doctor and I had plenty of flirting. All the deeper stuff was left off-screen for the audience to fill in the blanks" River says.
"Exactly. Frankly, even your parents had a better on-screen development romance, The Doctor and Donna's friendship has quiet moments to add depth. I can count on one hand the number of times you two got any more than flirting. Like while I had no on-screen romance my relationship is more developed with him on screen alone. That's not even including the BBC audios and such" Romana points out.
"You had more episodes on screen with The Doctor, I had only nine," River says.
Raising an eyebrow "And that should be an excuse for Moffat's poor writing because?" Romana inquires.
"Good point, okay. Onto your regeneration from your first into second fans today are still scratching their heads wondering what in Silence's name the trying on different bodies for. Even the official expanded universe writers have a hard time trying to figure that one out. While mine were still treated with seriousness" River says.
"True my regeneration was one of the strangest and never seen before or after in the history of the show. So, your regenerations were normal as any other, you win that round" Romana says.
"Sadly, you are a full-Time Lord while me, on the other hand, I am some sort of half-human and weird hybrid of Time Lord ability," River says.
"And let's not think about how the latest Timeless child twist by Chris Chibnall has made it so we all have the Doctor's regeneration DNA in us" Romana adds with a shudder.
"Let's face it we are both badasses in our own way and even Steven Moffat talked about how he loved your character when watching the show. I'd say you were no doubt one the inspirations for my character in the first place" River says.
"Agreed. So, let's just call it a tie" Romana replies grinning.
"That sounds good to me," River says having a smile as well.
Stepping back River punches in coordinates on her vortex wrist device and disappears into a cloud of smoke. Meanwhile Romana turns around heading back to her TARDIS.
Hope you all enjoyed this and leave a review letting me know what you think if you want.
I had this come down to a tie since I couldn't quite figure out a deserving winner between the two and lets you as the reader make up your own mind.
Until next time
