"You really should have told everyone." Mina Ashido groaned at Izuku "Deku" Midoriya. The U.A students were awake in the early morning. The earliest, the pink girl has ever been in her life. At least on purpose.

Deku was awake as well because he had trouble sleeping. While he was the victor between the fight between himself and Hasakai leader, Overhaul. The experience has rattled and shaken the green-haired hero to his core. Witnessing both near and true death in the conflict. He himself nearly destroyed his body to accommodate the tortured Eri's powers as he also defeated Overhaul at his most deranged and powerful.

The boy didn't want to say it out loud. But he still regretted that he couldn't do more. When he laid wide awake in his bed he had the same thoughts in his mind.

If only I was a little faster.

Mina noticed the uneasiness.

"Mina...I wasn't supposed to tell anyone." Izuku bemoaned, knowing that the pink girl wouldn't accept the answer.

"Yeah but maybe at least tell your girlfriend that you were in danger...or maybe let me make you feel a bit better when you come back…" Mina's eyes were one of her most identifiable features. Outside of the pink skin and hair. Black sclera and yellow pupils, very striking eyes. They exaggerated every expression, especially her trademark devious smirks.

Today, however, the eyes were now sorrowful. The work studies that led Izuku to the Overhaul mess ate much of his time. He and Mina hadn't been dating long by most accounts but several near-death experiences and the need to share with people you trust, have a way of speeding things along.

Izuku sat next to the concerned girl. Her knees pressed against her chest. Her eyes staring dead-on into The green-haired boy. Izuku felt the gaze digging deep into him.

"Maybe now that the investigation and the raid are over...It wouldn't hurt?" The young hero thought to himself. Matching his concerned girlfriends stare. Not with the same emotion but with the same intent. Assurance.

Izuku regaled Mina with how he met the girl named Eri. How she was abused by the mad Yakuza boss Kai Chisaki, Alias Overhaul. How he used the girl to try and make bullets that destroy quirks. How the creation of the bullets required her flesh.

He went over what he knew about the investigation. Not too many details but the bare bones of what the older heroes told him.

Then the raid itself.

The boy looked physically haggard explaining all this information. He suppressed the urge to go into his usual, "Midoriya mummers" When he got to the parts that disturbed or upset him the most. It was mostly three parts, four if one was being technical. Mirio's quirk being destroyed. Sir Nighteyes death. Toga's appearance along with Twice. Overhaul.

Mina raised an eyebrow.

"Just Overhaul? That's all you can say?" Mina blinked, trying to figure out Izuku's reasoning.

"What do you mean?"

"I get the Mirio and Nighteye thing. You're doing the what-if thing again." Mina groaned.

"What thing?"

"The thing where you start second-guessing on one thing and then start second-guessing everything. It's like the mumbling thing, a nervous tick. Izuku rubbed the back of his head nervously.

"I'm sor-"

"Please don't do the I'm sorry thing. Izu if I wasn't prepared for a bit of nervousness and nerves, sprinkled on self-loathing I wouldn't be able to talk to you in the first place." Mina teased. "You don't need to be sorry. You don't have to tell me everything about the Overhaul thing. I did want to know how the fight with him was affecting you but if you feel you don't want to talk about it now I won't ask….for now." Mina put an arm around Izuku's neck as she reassured him.

"Thanks for putting up with me." The boy mumbled out.

"There no need to thank me. What is a girlfriend for?" Mina smiled with her captivating eyes. Izuku felt lost in her eyes and words. Feeling at least a fraction of the weight and worry leave him. It was still there but instead of sadness and regret. Happyness was front and center in his mind. All from the girl with the striking eyes.

"I could have stopped all of this from happening in the first place." Mina looked at Izuku with a look of sympathy.

"Like I said. I'm here for you." She pulled the boy closer and gave him a firm hug. "Take it slowly. Izuku told her the first time he met Eri. Running away from Overhaul at the start of his work studies.

Lemillion told him to play dumb because of Sir Nighteyes investigation into the crime-boss. He told her how he held the little girl and felt her trembling and meeking asking for his help. How she jumped away from him back to Overhaul when he tried to lure Izuku and Mirio into the alley.

He also shared his thought on the matter. If he was just held her a bit tighter or just ran as soon as Overhaul acted suspiciously he could have gotten her out of there. Even he ran before Mirio noticed. He proved that even with Overhauls' versatile quirk that he could outmatch the mad yakuza quirk-less.

"Izu...Babe? You can't put your self in that position. Mirio probably feels just as bad or even worse about the whole thing. He was the one who wanted you to let her go to keep up the investigation and he was the one who paid the price of losing his hard-earned power." Mina did her best to help the boy process his feelings.

Izuku pulled away from mina's embrace on the couch and looked down on himself. He was the apprentice to the symbol of peace. And yet all he was to do go from there is getting another hero to loses his power and another to die. All while the thing that caused this to go all out of hand, the bullets, were now in possession of the league of Villians.

He felt like his stomach was filled with bile as the thought of repercussions of his actions. All the terror the group can cause now.

The injures that Kirishima and Fatgum sustained when they separated from the group. Uraraka and Tsuyu being nearly drained to death by one of the Eight precepts of death. The officer's in critical condition. On top of that Sir and Mirio. All of this because the future symbol of peace couldn't save a little girl.

Suddenly he felt a soft touch on his chin. It guided him for looking at the floor and his feet to Mina's face.

Her eyes filled with worry and empathy. Filled with care.

"What did I say? If you want to work through this you have me and everyone here. We are in this together you know." Mina gave Izuku another big hug. Pressing her chest against his. Chuckling to her self. "Being a hero is not just about being able to stop bad things from happening. It's also being there when it matters when bad things do happen and people need comfort and assurance. Would figure the hero nerd would have remembered the reason All Might smile all the time." Mina slightly pulled back to reveal her best visual impression of All Mights smile.

It wasn't the best it replication but the thought but a couple of tears in Izuku's eyes. He hugged her back.

"Could we...Could we stay like this before we make breakfast and get to class?" Izuku stumbled at first but made it clear what he needed. Mina simply smiles her devious smile and laid on top of Izuku as they rest on the couch. As she stared into Izuku eyes with hers, so filled with love.

"We can stay here as long as you need too." Mina smirked.

"Thank you." Izuku said with relief.

"Until you accidentally throw me off when Ida or Yaoyorozu get here~" Mina smirked even harder.

"Sorry about that one time again?" He said sheepishly with a blush. All the pink girl gave as an answer was a quick kiss.
