Alrain: Chapter 2 is here and I must apologize as I looked at Log Horizon Reality Reshape and I must say that I still suck at writing beginnings, so I will be replacing the 1st chapter of that story but now we are moving on here with Chapter 2 of RWBY 2nd Chance.

And there were some questions asked about how Ruby is able to have all the Maiden Magic and let me tell you, the only woman in the world and the Maiden Magic is explained how it works if the previous Maiden doesn't have the image of the last woman or girl they saw then it will go randomly...though I don't think that is the case if Ruby is the only woman in Remnant left.

Jaune who is pretty much traumatized by some other deaths of his beloved ones pushed himself to be more useful, those deaths have him go back to the state that he blames himself for not being useful enough. So he pushes himself to learn and practice as much as he can in every field to make him feel useful, so since he has a lot of Aura he feels that he should research this field as much as possible.

Chapter 2: The Paladin Awakes..and gets an 8th sister.

Arc Household.

'It is always me again...stupid me for being clumsy as hell,' groaned Jaune as he was in his room but a bandage was wrapped around his head as his arrival had been less graceful and kind then Ruby's, he wouldn't go in detail about it not wanting to feel nor have a reminder of how clumsy he had been as a child, the worst thing was that it always seemed to remind him that he has never fought that habit off after her...

He shook his head at the bad memories given to him and focused on opening the suitcases and removed the bandage of his head, the first thing that anyone would've done when successfully time-traveling was to contact with the one they traveled back with, but seeing how late it was Jaune was against the idea as he had a feeling that Ruby was in the moment of something. So he decided to get the 1st things out and that was his Highly Advanced Scroll set ready when the time was to contact Ruby, checking some suitcases as each one of them had a number on the side allowing him to quickly check the suitcases that contained brittle equipment, and groaning to himself about some equipment he wasn't able to take back knowing it was a pain to build them.

Once that was done he looked at his hand intently and focused on it.

White light emitted from his hand and if any Hunter or Huntress specialized in Aura saw this they would be amazed at how controlled it looked, most huntsmen who focused on the field of Aura can see the difference in control over Aura, this was a hard thing to do as hardly anyone can see the difference in control by merely looking at them calling their Aura forth.

If they saw Jaune do it they would understand as most who called out their Aura quickly out was seen as having amazing control, control was also based on the speed of how fast one can call it out and focus it on a single point of their body, it also depended a bit on how bright the color of one's Aura shone and his Aura...would simply baffle them all because his hand where he focused his Aura to was emitting light but could be mistaken as made of pure white light. That simply showed how much control he has and they would be even more amazed if they found out about his reserves, though it would be seen as Master Control over Aura seeing how much light he emitted and how no small wisps came off Jaune knew better.

Like he had told Ruby he had doubled the amount of Aura they had by using their Adult reserves to fuse with the younger body's reserves, with this the childish thoughts and acts were fused together with the adult thoughts and actions resulting by his calculations that the thoughts should be somewhere by above teenager mind. That is if he would've let it be like that as he even calculated that and that was also written on the magic circle, some kind of system written in the brain of him and Ruby would act up that made them act like children befitting their age, luckily it would fade with time once they were teenagers as something like integrated commands in the brain were difficult to do so.

But double the amount meant that he now in truth had only 50% control over his Aura which was still amazing with his reserves, but Jaune knew that it wasn't going to be easy knowing that it took quite some intense years of training to get 100% control, and he was going to have those years again with intensive training to get it back up to 100%. He still had alternatives that could compensate for the lack of control when he started just at a measly 15% control, Aura that wasn't under his control and not refined yet was quite useful to disrupt activation of Semblances.

Though that alternative became quite useless when it was now only Grimm he had to fight.

'Since I am going to be the one to supply us both with money before we try to awaken the others I have not a lot of time for training...I need to come at least with the minimum of 20 Alternatives if I don't reach 60% control,' thought Jaune and used immediately the old Alternatives which were at least 8 meaning he had to think of 12 of them, luckily he had a clear memory of everything or not so lucky as clear memory was given to him through trauma remembering the war...

Slapping himself once again for not getting rid of that bad habit of his he focused on what alternatives he should create, but he decided to go against that and got to another suitcase that was rather smaller than the other ones, it seemed that it could only contain 6 medium books but it didn't contain books which Jaune hardly needed.

Opening it up he smiled at the sight of what the suitcase contained and it was twin high-tech pistols with symbols of magic circles craved on them.

'Hecate and Trivia...you 2 always helped me with everything when I didn't have control over my Aura,' looking fondly at the pistols he had created when he understood how to make his own weaponry, Ruby and Weiss had helped him a lot in this area as he was very specific what he wanted the firearms to do. Hecate and Trivia were something more akin to refiners and processors that acted at the time when he had little control over his Aura, the pistols were written with an encrypted code that responded to his Aura that would only activate if it recognized his Aura or anyone he trusts, the pistol wasn't only looking advanced but it was very advanced as well as it appeared. The pistols were hard to make as a lot of things had to be done to get the functions Jaune wanted to have in them, the pistols had to respond to his intention of what spell he wanted to use.

It was a long process in words but in actions, it was very quick.

Using his own version of Glyphs which he would come back to explaining about it, to link it to his mind and several other Glyphs with each of them holding a spell in the pistols, the Glyph in the pistols was attached to the other Glyphs with spells and it is able to read the intention of him, meaning that the spell he thought off would be passed down to the spell through the Glyph who again would send it to the Glyph with the holding spell he wanted to use. He could've made it simpler by linking all the Glyphs to his head but that would only cause him a small headache, he had discovered this because he had tried this and it backfired as the speed itself that it went was painful.

And it might have interfered with other actions so a single Glyph taking the command and reading it and passing it was the solution.

Besides that, it also refined and processed the Aura of his that was refined yet and it if was already refined it would be even finer which meant more concentrated, meaning again more power and speed behind the Aura that was shot off and there was another function made in the pistols. In short, it was simply another Glyph that read Intention as well but also information for new spells that he didn't have placed on the ammo clip where all the Glyphs with specific spells are written in, it was something akin to a scanning spell that allows him to analyze things and store them in his memory if he didn't have the time to extensively study it.

So X-Ray and Copy and Paste.

Looking at the other ammo clips there were at least 5 of them for each pistol all with other spells written in them and it was infinite ammo in fact since it only needed Jaune to provide for the Aura for the spell they would shoot.

What he lacked in skill and experience he would provide with strategy and support.

Looking at the time he saw it was the time he was supposed to call Ruby and placing Hecate and Trivia back into the suitcase and closing it he went over to his desk, it was time to call Ruby as he predicted that she was done with reuniting with her mother and as much as he wanted to give her a few more hours, but given the conditions, he was in and their predicament and goal he couldn't give her another hour.

Harsh as it was he didn't grant himself the time to reacquaint with his family as he needed to get this off his chest before he would.

Xiao-Long Rose Household.

Perhaps she was a bit too emotional at seeing her mother again as right now she was not in a very favorable situation, don't get her wrong at all since she loved being back into her mother's arms again and that she was here...but she had forgotten that her mother was exceptionally overprotective and she blamed that on herself and on Raven.

After Raven had left Yang at home with no intention to ever return back Summer took this in a very bad way that you wouldn't expect, she had lost most faith in Raven and could never forgive her for what she had done to Yang in her childhood, as a child she never noticed it well but her mom was very much on edge not wanting her to suffer the same fate as Yang.

She took it a bit better than Taiyang who had been quite naive that Raven would be content with the peaceful lifestyle they led, but that wasn't the point she wanted to go to as she now knew that her mother was very sharp with her eyes.

Mothers always know things that happened to their children and Ruby never questioned this, she had been told that she would understand to if she became a mother.

And right now she couldn't exactly escape now and she needed to contact Jaune who would call any moment now, knowing him she knew that he would grant her more time to spend with her mother, but she had a feeling that those extra hours were almost up and she certainly didn't mind knowing he didn't do the same as herself. Not spending time with his family knowing that he was just too awkward as in the war he had changed a lot, he was awkward again but in another way, as he suffered from PTSD meaning he wouldn't know the feeling of what it was to have a family again, the feeling that they were not dead, and she knew Jaune was aware he handled such emotional things less good then herself.

He was simply being awkward again but now it was even weirder as it was his own family...he never truly recovered completely to a healthy state after being forced to...

Anyways, right now she needed a way to get out of her mother's grasp which wouldn't be easy even if she had found one or thought of one, her mother may look delicate and was a speed-type like her relying on powerful strikes powered by speed. But since she is a mother she somehow gained arms of steel and senses of a hawk of what she was intending to do, she had considered using her Semblance to scatter in petals and reform her whole body which her way of teleportation.

And again she threw that idea out of the window knowing it was a very advanced technique in people's eyes while it was a normal one for her, right now her Semblance was stronger so she had an idea as Jaune wasn't the only one who had practiced. Generating a single rose petal from her hand she waited until her mom would let her go, and that short time would be enough because soon enough she would still have a Ruby to hug while she would be conversing with Jaune.

"Mom, can I have some cookies?" asked Ruby using her cutest voice and face that she wanted her mom's cookies and right now it sounded great, but she had to relent for now even if she wanted to taste them again her talk with Jaune was too important right now.

"Okay, sweetie, I will get you some right now!" said Summer and finally released her grip on Ruby who let out a breath she didn't know she had held in, and immediately left the petal on the couch and hoped it would work and it did as the petal glowed with light and smoke came and a 2nd Ruby appeared, an advanced technique of her Semblance to leave a clone of herself behind. Turning around she almost fell to her knees as she felt the Aura that left her body to do this and while it was the refined Aura it was still draining, getting up and walking to her room as fast and quiet as she could she escaped from her mother's grasp.

Entering her room she almost jumped at hearing the faint beeping sound that her Advanced Scroll was making, going over she opened it up and the screen appeared showing Jaune.

"Hello, Ruby, I hope you enjoyed your time with your mom," said Jaune smiling before frowning when he saw that Ruby was panting a bit and she noticed this too.

"H-Hey, Jaune, I did enjoy my time with my mom...pant...but couldn't you have made our bodies a bit stronger as well," panted Ruby a bit feeling a bit drained of her energy of using her semblance, that technique never did give her a lot of fatigue as she has used it to create tons of clones of herself to attack Grimm coming from all the sides. She speculated that it was because of her body not used to having so much Aura drained at once, not that the technique costs a lot of Aura since it was mostly refined and doesn't need a lot of it, still, the small amount was simply still too much having hardly practiced her semblance in that way or using so much.

"I did do that but it is still a little dormant as the refined Aura we used to train our bodies made our bodies stronger, however, it doesn't kick in right away and must be done slowly, otherwise you might as well have for a whole day muscle strain all over your body," said Jaune who shuddered at the thought of instant fusion of older cells and young cells, while the fusion could be done with making the cells of the bodies of their adult form as the growing base of a child it wasn't something he did want to do, instant meant complete transformation and pain and survival rate very low so it was a slow process.

"Why didn't you tell me in the beginning?" asked Ruby a bit annoyed.

"You in a sleepy state while I explain everything the magic circles does to ourselves and it besides that it isn't our old bodies exactly, it is simply our cells from our adult state fusing with the younger cells, meaning stronger body as we as children might be too strong," said Jaune knowing Ruby was bothered about it and probably experiencing how it was to be a teenager again.

"Sorry, sorry, I don't know why I feel so frustrated!" said Ruby.

"Might be a side-effect of the Magic circle, but anyways I am here to talk about what we are going to do besides training for the future," said Jaune and this seemed to work as Ruby's annoyance vanished away and her attention on him.

"What should we start doing then?" and before Jaune could ask Ruby held her hand up. "I wasn't able to read the notes you gave to me and while I am thankful for the extra 2 hours you gave...mom wouldn't let me go so I was pretty much stuck in one place,"

"I can't scold you for that knowing that my mom would do the same thing...but then again I can't breath when she does that," shuddered Jaune at the thought of his mother in an emotional state that could only be calmed down when one of her children hugged her, she would not let go for a while and so Jaune and his sisters were a bit reluctant to hug her and poor dad was too weak at heart so he never got out easily. "Well, the thing is that we need the money and a lot of it to get all the equipment I need to maintain our weapons, I wasn't able to find enough materials to make them or find a way to take them with us,"

Ruby looked at all the suitcases and nodded seeing that they were big because of her size but she knew the true size of the equipment, none of them would ever fit in that and could imagine only the portable gadgets Jaune made that everyone in her team and the other teams used, she was sure if he made them way before the war that he would be very rich.

"Well, you have plenty of options to get money so I guess you are starting a business by selling some of your gadgets?"

"That's the idea of how to earn the money but there is also a plan B that I need to have carried out, but that is for a later date and not important right now," he knew how to get power and that was thanks to Qrow sharing his experiences and knowledge of deceased and infamous thieves, bandits, and former Huntsmen and the one he was searching for was ironically the father of one of his enemies. "Also, you better test the small pieces of equipment right now if they are functional, I will be doing the same because I want to know if they made it safely through the journey, "

"Gotcha! When will the next meeting be and what will we discuss?" asked Ruby wondering why they weren't discussing everything right now.

"Ruby, of all things we or you need to act and pretend like yourself to be at your age, you can only act a bit like yourself if you had a freaking accident like bumping your head very...hard," said Jaune and actually he could do that right now as he had fallen off the stairs and he said he wouldn't go in detail about it, but there was perhaps a slight miscalculation about his formulas. For short he remembered that at this time he had run off the stairs racing with his sisters, it was about a final night snack, and thunder had rumbled and he fell off the stairs, and he arrived in his younger body in pain.

How no one saw that was because he was far ahead of his sisters and his mother had been holding the tray of cookies, and his dad wasn't home yet as he comes very late at home.

"I had fallen off the stairs so don't question it, the next day we will hold the meeting around 3 PM but send a message when you can't right now, " said Jaune and bid Ruby a good day further and closed the call off and it was time to put Hecate and Trivia to use.

Forest.

Normally Jaune would never be seen as someone who would use unethical means or ways to do things for the better, right now you can picture him in it as not a bit of hesitance he used Hecate and Trivia on his family. Using a Glyph that stunned people and another Glyph to erase the last 5 minutes of what they had seen or heard, with this he was able to get into the forest as his injuries had healed up due to his immense amount of Aura.

'Honestly, I don't even need to be here anymore since Hecate and Trivia work perfectly...my family was the test subject,' thought Jaune a bit disturbed with himself how he had done that without thinking.

Fortunately for him, Grimm poured out of the forest having sensed his negative emotions washing away all the thoughts and making him grin in a slightly sadistic way, doing a quick scan of the Grimm he saw it was mostly Beowolves and a few Ursa but not an Alpha or a Major which was disappointing but he wasn't complaining.

Testing time.

One of the younger Beowolves charged at him and swiped his claw at him but before he could reach him Jaune had his gun out, the trigger was pressed and light emitted from the muzzle and the Beowolf was sent crashing through a tree, aiming at another one he pressed the trigger again only this time 2 Glyphs appeared for a moment one on the Beowolf and the other one the ground, the Grimm suddenly slammed against the ground as if something was pushing him down.

Force Glyph: Glyph that unleashes a small concentrated burst of Aura that sends the target hurling, it doesn't pierce through as this Glyph is meant for capture in the early years of the war but still hurts a lot and can easily knock down an Ursa Major with ease.

Magnetic Glyph: Glyph that used the same concept of magnets with the target being surrounded by a thin yet strong layer of Aura, and the Glyph underneath the target attracts the Aura and locks the target down. Also, another Glyph meant for capture in the early years of the war, though it was still often used on giant Grimm.

Both weren't perfect as both had a weakness that was quite hard to exploit as only Jaune knew them, Force Glyph had a long-range but it would obviously struggle with giant Grimm like the Goliaths, and with the Magnetic Glyph it had rather a problem with the environment it was around as it relied on the ground a lot. He could reverse the effect of the 2nd Glyph by making the target a magnet and choosing the objects that would be covered in Aura, meaning the target would be knocked down by many objects.

"You all are next!" shooting at another Beowolf this one was wrapped around in ropes made of Aura making it screech in pain before being disassembled, it looked rather grotesque making Jaune remember that the Glyph used was the Rope Glyph, a painless capture for humans and Faunus but a painful death for the Grimm.

The older all backed down having the feeling they would lose and tried to run all away but Jaune still had 7 more Glyphs to use and then shot at all of them and various effects of the Glyphs were displayed.

One of the Beowolves stood still and began to hold it's neck choking and foam coming out of its mouth before falling unconscious, one fell down dead as a beam of white light erupted out of its chest before dying and fading away, one was running away even faster as it was lit on by white fire and burning it alive, another one roared in pain and held it's ears and head before getting blasted down by a beam of white light. Another one's body exploded into pieces getting pieces of Grimm on the trees, another one has shared the same fate as the one that exploded but had only several places burst open and let the dark essence flow out, the last one didn't explode but the did the opposite and was crumpled up like a piece of paper.

'Just like I had guessed that my Support Glyphs is also dangerous to Grimm,' in truth he had not used an Ammoclip that contained Combat-Glyphs at all, he wanted to test something which he never got the time for and it seems he was right, they were all dangerous to Grimm as it was Aura-Based meaning it would only hurt them.

Rope Glyph: Glyph that emits several ropes made of Aura wrapping around the target and restraining him/her, the ropes have an additional effect of siphoning the targets Aura off making them even stronger.

Overload Glyph: Glyph that overloads above the usage of the target's Daily Aura consumption, forcing more Aura to be used and straining the body and brain with pain and mental stress.

Long-Range Strength Glyph: Glyph that is focused Aura that enhances the strength of said target and is able to reach up to 5 Kilometers.

Healing Glyph: Glyph that grants target with more Aura and accelerating the healing process, it doesn't lower down the defensive capability of Aura.

Soundwave Glyph V1: Glyph that emits soundwaves in a frequency it makes the target nauseous and knocking them out cold.

Wave Glyph: Glyph that triggers the effect of allowing one's Aura to be emitted in a wave that pushes back Grimm and burning them, it does not shave away the Aura but allows it to shine more brightly with more force to knock away Grimm.

Burst Glyph: The Glyph is something akin to being an Adrenaline Booster to Huntsmen.

Support Reinforce Glyph: Glyph that tightens the Aura of Huntsmen up into the density that is 20 times stronger than titanium, meaning that an attack of a Grimm or bandit will not be able to take a lot of Aura off with their attacks.

All of them were harmful and while he understood that the Restraining Glyphs designed to capture thieves and such was effective against Grimm, the Support Glyphs, however, made them look completely tame as the effects were far worse on the Grimm while they were very positive to Huntsmen.

Rope Glyph siphoned Aura but Grimm don't have Aura and actually dug into the flesh of the Grimm, getting severed into pieces by the ropes as they burned and got sliced them apart.

Overload Glyph had a different effect as it only made the Grimm heighten their senses to such painful heights they would die.

Long-Range Strength Glyph was concentrated Aura to be fired off from a Long-Distance, but since Grimm doesn't have Aura it simply pierced straight through them like they were made of wet paper, in short, this Glyph was nothing but a laser that instantly kills Grimm giving them a merciful death...if aimed well.

Healing Glyph was him giving a bit more Aura and allowing Huntsmen to heal faster, but the Aura given to Grimm burned them instead of healing them not having a soul and set them on fire.

Wave and Burst were the same as they both had the effect to knock Grimm away by force or the Huntsmen fighting back with renewed strength, and finally, the Support Reinforce Glyph tightened the Aura into something like refined energy or a stronger forcefield like he used to put it out, but it crushed the Grimm like a piece of paper crumpled into a ball.

All of those Support Glyphs were in Grimm's case a painful death.

This didn't disturb Jaune but it put rather a small smile on his face as he now had the feeling he didn't need to switch out Ammoclips anymore, he still would as the Combat Glyphs were instant death moves but one person would suffer by this Support Glyphs. 'Just you wait until I get you and make you pay, I may have to wait years for it but know that you will suffer by my hands, Cinder!'

Before he could go in detail in his thoughts about in what order he would use the Support Glyphs to make Cinder beg for mercy rustling of the bushes made him wary, it was in front of him and he held both his pistols out and was hesitant on the firing of what was in the bushes, and while he could wave this off as a Grimm the bush was far too small for a Grimm to be in. Not even baby Nevermores would be in there as their nest would be in trees then a bush as it was animal instinct, and he was sure that Grimm didn't have tails that had the color of orange and white in it especially not the latter since it would always come in the form of bone armor.

Putting away his pistols he crouched down and looked at the bush and saw 2 blue eyes staring back at him with several emotions, fear, curiosity, and wariness.

"Are you okay?"

"..."

"I won't hurt you,"

"..."

"I don't hate Faunus," said Jaune and the tail stiffened up a bit and Jaune knew that perhaps saying the last thing was not so smart to do, it was obvious that she had been abused from being a Faunus and apparently retaliated back to humans. Because the Faunus was a Tiger Faununs seeing from the coloring of the tail and the irises of the blue eyes that were the same shade as his, those eyes were looking at any form of deceit from him and the ears were trying to listen to the tone he used that she probably heard all too often.

It seems she hasn't heard his tone as the tail curled up in the way that the Faunus was a bit confused and was all too used to hearing a deceitful tone or a threatening one. He luckily had still some sandwiches packed up in his lunchbox having planned to eat them after the testing, but he wasn't that hungry then again he was quite the scrawny kid back then. Opening it up he held out a ham sandwich that got quickly snatched out of his hand and eaten up, the lunchbox got taken away as well as Jaune let the Faunus eat the sandwiches.

"Are you still hungry?" asked Jaune.

"...Yes," came a tiny voice giving away that the Faunus was a she.

"Do you want to come with me?" asked Jaune holding his hand out and that action only made her flinch back but that also got her out of the bush allowing Jaune to have a full look, the girl could be easily mistaken as one of his older sisters as she had long blonde hair the same shade as his hair that reached her back, the blue eyes had also the shade of blue that all his sisters and both his parents had. The only thing that was different about her was that she had 2 tiger ears sticking out of her hair along with the tail out of her back. "Cute,"

"Eh?" muttered the girl at being called cute.

"Do you want to come with me?" asked Jaune and the answer was a moment of silence before a hand came out and grasped his.
