wow, so quarantine is boring right? This was the only productive thing I did today, so I hope it makes someone else's quarantine/isolation/weird time a little better. Stay safe world.

Donna rolled over in bed for what felt like the hundredth time, sleep still hadn't captured her despite her trying to surrender for the past three hours. Her body was physically exhausted and her head was pounding, thoughts were swirling behind her eyes making it feel impossible to keep them closed. Her frustration was only inflamed by the man sleeping solidly on the other side of the bed, not so much as stirring from his peaceful slumber during her tossing and turning.

She decided to accept defeat and get up, she slipped into Harvey's black robe hung on the bedroom door and tied it firmly around her waist before wandering into the lounge and slumping down on the sofa. She flicked on the TV and flinched as the voices seemed to boom from the screen and around the apartment, she quickly turned down the volume before she woke Harvey and then changed the channel trying to find something boring to lull her to sleep, it wasn't usually difficult when Harvey insisted on watching the Sports Channel so she flicked through until she landed on it and sank down into her usual spot on the cool leather sofa, the only thing missing was his warm lap to rest her feet in.

Donna tucked her legs underneath her and pulled down the chunky knitted throw that was folded neatly over the back of the sofa and spread it over her bare legs and feet. She closed her eyes and listened to the meaningless chatter about baseball stats and leagues, the kind of stuff that would have Harvey enthralled for hours whilst he stroked her hair and she rested her head in his lap and read a book or scrolled on her phone or more likely took a nap. If only..

Insomnia is something she had always suffered from during times of stress usually, but sometimes for no reason at all. Sure she might get to sleep but her brain wouldn't let her get into that deep, refreshing sleep she would crave and the more she thought about it the worse it got. The more she thought about how her working day was going to be affected the wider awake she became. If she was lucky enough to drop off, she would wake up checking the clock over and over through the night and in the morning she would be glad it was all over but she would feel like she was walking through fog all day, her head was cloudy, her work was full of mistakes and she was snappy as hell with anyone who asked what was wrong. Just not 'Donna' at all. Harvey wasn't aware of the extent of her issue, he thought she was just a light sleeper especially compared to him - Mr 'I don't like to even be up by 8', but when they were going through something at work or she had something on her mind he would always make an extra effort help her wind down and relax before bed and help in anyway he could to ensure she could get to sleep.

Since being with Harvey her sleep pattern had improved, mainly because she spent less time alone with her thoughts and spent more time in his arms, winding down, relaxing, taking care of herself and more time being taken care of, plus nothing put her to sleep like multiple orgasms. But during recent times involving the stress-inducing Faye Richardson and all the shit she brought to the firm, Donna's insomnia reared its ugly head again. Until tonight, she was managing to get to sleep alright but she had been waking multiple times in the night worrying over a comment Faye had made or wondering what her next move was going to be and how it would affect them all. When she closed her eyes she kept having visions of him being arrested or him sat behind bars. She had managed to hide it from Harvey so far but it wouldn't be long before she was wound so tightly that she wouldn't even be able to go to bed anymore.

Anxiety crept up on her she lay on the couch staring blankly at her hands in her lap, fiddling with the blanket over her legs. She suddenly felt heat flush over her face and down her back as she worried about dealing with Faye tomorrow on no sleep, she needed her mind to be sharp and focused so she could protect Harvey and the firm from Faye's insidious ways. That was her job as COO and she didn't want to let anyone down when it mattered now more than ever. Her chest tightened and she sat up abruptly, she felt like her next breath would never come, she gasped for air as tears rolled down her face and she let out a choked sob. Panic set in and she tried to stand and go to Harvey for help, but dizziness besieged her and she stumbled into the coffee table causing the vase displaying flowers there to fall and smash against the hardwood floor. The intense noise causing her panic to increase and when Harvey shot out of bed at the commotion and into the room he found her almost doubled over trying to get her breath, broken glass and water around her bare feet.

"Jesus, Donna what's happened?" He tried to assess the situation, he scanned the room for an intruder and his mind was still groggy but his body on high alert.

"I can't- I can't.." She gasped unable to get any words out and still have enough air left in her lungs to breathe. Her vision was blurry from her tears and his words were ringing in her ears.

Harvey recognized the signs from his own experience and grabbed her elbows, pulling her to stand up straight and look at him. "You're panicking. You need to slow down." He felt her fingers gripping his biceps, almost clawing at him for breath. "Watch me, In." He paused and she stared at his mouth as he took a deep breath, "And out." He exhaled. "That's it Donna, focus on me. In and out." Her frantic eyes settled on his face as she mirrored his breathing pattern and managed to take in more air, her hyperventilating slowing down. Eventually she closed her eyes and he cupped her face as she continued to cry, he blotted her tears with his thumbs and kissed her forehead every few seconds as he waited for her to calm down and her breathing to return to normal.

"There you go, just breathe Donna." He spoke calmly, although he had to focus to stop his hands trembling as he held her. She crumpled into his arms and he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist before she went limp in his embrace, exhausted from the attack.

"Come on, lets get you back into bed." He whispered gently and kissed her hair, his questions and the mess could wait until the morning.

"No." She went rigid in his embrace as he tried to turn her towards their room. "I can't go back in there." She sobbed and went to push away from him but Harvey tightened his grip before she could get away from him.

"What's going on Donna?" He tried to keep his voice even and keep his own panic off his face.

"I can't sleep. I haven't been sleeping and I can't do it anymore. I can't deal with Faye and the firm like this and if something happens because I don't see it coming I don't know what I'll do.." She panted, her respiration rate increasing again as her tears continued down her red face.

"Donna, nothing is going to happen. She's got nothing, we haven't done anything wrong and you don't need to worry.." He tucked her hair behind her ear and tried to hold her gaze as he spoke softly. "That's what all this is about? Faye fucking Richardson?" His anger at that woman crept into his words and Donna flinched, she didn't want him to be angry at her. "Please Donna, just come back to bed. I promise you, we will get rid of that woman soon and everything will go back to how it was, okay?" He cupped her face in his hands, "Okay?" She nodded and felt the weight of her exhaustion in her eyelids. He pulled her closer in his arms again for a moment and kissed her forehead unsure of how else to comfort her right now. He walked towards their room and this time she allowed herself to go with him. Once they reached her side of the bed he let go of her and only then noticed she was wearing his robe.

"Are you keeping that on?" He pointed to the black material that was drowning her, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. She just nodded in reply and got under the covers, sitting up against the pillows.

"Can we watch the Sports Channel?" She asked quietly and his head whipped round to look at her from his side of the bed as if she had just asked him for a pony.

"Err, sure." He reached for the remote and flicked on the smaller television mounted on the wall opposite the bed, scrolling through channels until he reached her desired one.

"Whenever you watch this I always feel sleepy, but will you talk to me until I get to sleep?" Harvey's adrenaline levels were so high he wasn't sure he would sleep again this week anyway. He moved his arm up into the pillows to encourage her to snuggle closer into him, which she did and he wrapped her in his warm embrace.

"What do you want me to talk about?" She only hummed in response. "Okay, erm, where shall we go for our first vacation? I was thinking somewhere really hot like the Caribbean or maybe Dubai? The shopping in Dubai-you'd love it." He chuckled and looked down at her smiling face, eyes shut and pressed into his chest.

"Do I look like I'm designed for that climate?" She muttered, making reference to her pale complexion.

"You could wear a really big hat, besides I'd keep you in the shade." He didn't get a reply but he felt her smile and sigh against his chest and her hand linked with his, so he decided to keep talking.

"I'd have to find us somewhere very private, because if you're in a bikini then I won't be able to keep my hands to myself.. maybe Dubai isn't the best idea actually..can't you get imprisoned for that kind of thing?" Her eyes opened again at the thought of her worst fear coming true. Sensing her tension, he decided to change tactics.

"Maybe we should start with somewhere in this country first. You know, just in case you can't stand my company for two weeks." He pauses to kiss the top of her head as she relaxes against him again.

"That luxury spa you were looking at a few weeks ago maybe, but only because it's also got a golf course.. my handicap could use some work. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what availability they have, I would get my secretary on the case but you know you just can't get the staff like you used to.." His own eyes started closing as thoughts of lazy weekends away with Donna filled his minds eye, a break would do them both the world of good. He looked down at Donna who appeared to be asleep but he thought he best keep the tv on for a bit longer just in case turning it off disturbed her.

"I love you, Donna." He whispered and when she didn't stir he knew she was soundly asleep. He knew this wasn't over and they would need to talk tomorrow but right now he had everything he needed for a good nights sleep right here in his arms.
