DP Meets DP

Chapter 1: The Job

He arrived in this room. There was a light shining down from the ceiling, where a bar stool was the only thing in the light. He saw a robed figure hovering there, waiting for him. Due to the hood, this figure's face was concealed. This did not stop him as he walked towards the figure in this dark, abandoned factory.

"Okay… I get the secrecy, but couldn't these meetings ever go in, I don't know, a pizza joint after hours?" The man in red said to the hovering figure. "Let's get this taken care of, I gotta make sure they don't find out I still have the Continuity Stone stashed away…"

"You're a funny man, Wilson…" The robed figure said. "I like you… which is why I'm hiring you."

"And not the Avengers, or the X-Men, or the Guardians of the Galaxy…" The man referred to as Wilson said. "So, I… Deadpool, by the way, am here why exactly?"

"I need you…" The figure placed a folder on the stool from his robe. "To keep an eye on this boy…"

Deadpool took the folder and opened it. There, he saw photos of someone he had only heard of casually. He looked through the photos and of some papers the figure had.

"Huh… okay… But I think I know a way to learn this target a little better. Any chance Clockwork can catch me up?"

The robed figure groaned and looked down.

"It's bad enough I'm here… but can you at least promise me you can do it?" The figure said. "The notes will tell you what your main goal is."

"No problem… that's why this story is being made anyway… that and I was super well liked when I was introduced in that crossover storyline." Deadpool insisted. "I'm also gonna avoid directly interacting with the author to give him some relief."

"Can. You. Do. It?" The figure asked, emphasizing each word to make sure Deadpool understood it.

"No problemo!" Deadpool said with both hands giving thumb's up. "Just let me get that look thanks to Clockwork."

The figure groaned again.

"Fine… if I know him, he'll come to you."

With that, the figure in robes disappears, hovering back into the darkness.

In mere moments, Deadpool just stood still, fists at his hips as he was getting impatient.

He groaned. "Okay… when's he showing up? I got chimichangas to eat!"

That's when another robed figure arrived behind him. One with a staff.

Danny was on his way home, having just saved Danielle with Valerie.

"Good… she'll be safe. I'd have asked her to stay, but with Vlad as mayor, that's not a good idea. I wish she could stay with us… but I can't risk it." He said to himself. He had a rather saddened look on his face.

At least she'll be okay. If I get the chance, I should go looking for her.

Then he remembered something.

"Aw man… DAD!"

Danny phased through his house, reaching the laboratory and seeing his father still trapped in the glass trap for the ghosts he experimented on. He was banging on the walls.

"Hey! I seriously need to use the bathroom here!"

Going to the stairway to return to human form. Once he did, he ran down the stairs.

"Dad!"

"Danny! Perfect!" Jack said with relief.

Danny pulled the door open after unlocking it.

"You okay?"

Jack simply ran past his son, holding onto his groin.

"Thanks Son! Bathroom now!" He said as he ran up the stairs.

Danny smiled and shook his head, shaking it with amusement.

That's my dad… I wonder if Danielle would like him…

He shook that thought off, curious why he thought that.

Still, he went up the stairs as he ended up in the kitchen. Then he noticed something.

The freezer door was open.

Danny groaned.

"Dad! You have to close the freezer door!" Danny shouted before remembering something. "Wait… when did he open this?"

He looked to the floor.

Dry?

"He was in there for at least 30 minutes, between us going to save Danielle and me coming back. There should be some water from melted ice on the floor…"

Still, he decided to close the door and head up the stairs to his room.

As he did, he thought of Danielle being on the streets.

I should have at least offered her a place to stay for the night… but I know she'd want to hide from Vlad somewhere he can't find her.

He grew to care for this little girl like a little sister, and it hurt a little she's out there, homeless.

Once he arrived at the door to his room, he noticed something. The door was opened slightly.

"Didn't I leave this wide open when I left?"

He opened the door and saw someone in his room.

Someone sitting on his bed with his legs crossed, pulling his mask back on as he dropped an empty ice cream container on the floor.

"Yo Danny Fenton, you're just 14, right? I said "yo" not young because that makes more sense and that's why the singer said it that way…" Deadpool said.

Danny just blinked a bit before taking a step back. He was panicking.

"Who are you?!"

"Take a good guess?" Deadpool asked.

Danny stared at this figure a bit before turning the lights on with the switch, seeing the red figure in light. It took Danny a moment but then he had an idea.

"Uh… Spider-Man?"

Deadpool groaned. "Jeez… really? We're gonna start with digging up that old chestnut? I thought Danny Phantom would come up with something clever…"

Danny's eyes widened at that.

"What?!"

"Whoa! Quiet down there, Jimmy Olsen. If your mom and sister weren't conveniently not in the house while your old man pees 2 hours worth of being stuck in that thing, you'd have blown my cover…"

"I…" Danny was about to try and make up an excuse to dissuade Deadpool. "I'm not-"

"Oh, I know all about you. And Sam and Tucker. And your sister was learning your secret and your little time travel shenanigans. Granted I learned stuff out of context. I got impatient and saw you taking on your Ultimate Enemy way too soon and saw the stuff with splitting in half and Young Butt after despite being set before."

Danny just blinked, a bit unsure of what this man in red was talking about.

"Uh… okay?"

"I also know technically you dealt with the Infinity Gauntlet ripoff before Sammy the Fake Goth went after another boy and you met who should've replaced her and Bad Nerd Comedy as your sidekick… but stupid scheduling." Deadpool said with annoyance.

"Fake Goth?" Danny questioned something he really shouldn't at the moment.

"First… I gotta know…" Deadpool said as he got up and pulled out his katanas. "Lemme see how well you hit!"

Seeing danger, Danny steeled himself.

"I'm going ghost!"

With that, the rings appeared and turned Danny Fenton into Danny Phantom.

"Going ghost… neat!" Deadpool said with some childish glee.

Danny fired a ghost ray that Deadpool didn't bother to avoid. Once it hit, it knocked him back a bit. To his surprise, Danny saw Deadpool wasn't nearly as hurt as he should be as he returned the katanas to their holsters.

"Uh… why didn't you block or avoid that? What are you, exactly?" Danny asked.

"Mutate!" Deadpool said proudly.

"Mutant?" Danny asked. "Like the X-Men?"

"No! Unlike my successful movie self, I'm not a mutant." Deadpool explains. "I'm a Mutate, they stuck some mutant genes in me and turned into a merger of Wolverine and… well, Spider-Man. So… your confusing me for him made some degree of sense."

One of Danny's eyebrows rose to show how confused and uncomfortable he was.

"You're… not fighting back?"

"Nah… just wanted to know how tough you were."

"I didn't really put that much, just enough meant to knock you down."

"You're talking to someone who got punched by Juggernaut. I can take more than that, kid." Deadpool explained. "And it's a good thing too." Deadpool then rose his arms and his tone became happier. "Guess who was hired to act as your bodyguard?"

Danny just stared for a few seconds before shaking his head just to make sure he heard that right.

"I'm sorry… what?!"

Because I brought Deadpool into the "Many Dates Verse", I decided to do a seperate fanfic where he pals around Danny.

But who hired him?

And what's he going to protect him from?

Don't worry, he's not gonna mess with the writer again. I gave him a life sized wax sculpture of Betty White.
