May the fourth be with you, my friends.
Anakin sunk deeper into the soft couch of Padme's apartment, cradling his son in his arms. Luke looked up at him, his big blue eyes fluttering drowsily. Anakin couldn't help but smile, his chest swelling with pride.
Luke was only a year old, and already Anakin could tell that he was strong with the force. He would become a greater Jedi that Anakin could ever hope to be, and he couldn't be more proud. He only hoped that he had created a better world for his children.
When he had started to have dreams of Padme dying, he had confided in Ahsoka. She had convinced him to talk to Obi-Wan, and when he had discovered that the Chancellor was Darth Sidious, he didn't think twice before slicing him in half. Days later, Luke and Leia had been born.
Anakin watched as Padme sat down next to Obi-Wan on the couch opposite to his, smiling at him before turning to speak to Obi-Wan when he asked her a question.
Obi-Wan gave what was no doubt a witty response, pouring a cup of tea and offering it to her. Padme brought her hand up to her mouth and laughed as she took the cup.
Ahsoka sat on the floor across from Leia, who was looking up at her with pure adoration. Leia clutched a doll in her tiny hand and waved it around, making little noises of happiness as she threw it at Ahsoka. Rex sat next to the two of them, holding another doll. He looked like he didn't quite know what to do with it, but he was trying his best, a soft smile spreading across his face as Leia giggled at Ahsoka, who was making Leia's doll fly around with the force.
Anakin glanced down at Luke, who had fallen asleep. He smiled and leaned his head back, closing his eyes contentedly.
If he could stay in this moment forever, he would. He could ask for nothing more in this life than to be surrounded by his Master, his Captain, his wife, and his Kids.
Other than, of course, to be with his mother. But he knew that, if she were here, she would be proud of him. That was enough.
He didn't need power, or recognition, or control. What was around him right now was enough.
It would always be enough.
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 7 OF TCW
You have been warned
Oh my gOD IT WAS SO GOOD!
I'm still reeling from today's episode you have no idea. I knew what was going to happen for the most part, but I was so not prepared for the scene with Vader at the end. It's fine though, I didn't need my heart anyway.
The Clone Wars is amazing. The end.
May the force be with you, always.
