It was becoming night time at the Disney Castle, and all were getting ready to settle for the night.

Max Goof, walked down the halls of the castle with his skateboard in hand. He yawned softly. It had been a long day. He spent most of his time in the knight's training arena. After finishing a couple chores that Daisy gave him, he would go to the arena with his skateboard and magic shield that his father gave him 2 years ago when he left on his journey.

He yawned once again as he entered his room. It was fairly clean, all except for a couple clothes items laying in the floor. He put his skateboard down and kicked off his shoes and flopped on his bed. Then he sat up and pulled something out from under his pillow.

It was a picture of himself and his father Goofy. He stared at the picture, it had been almost two years since his dad left to go find the king. Max recieved letters from him, telling all about his adventure and his time fighting off the heartless in other worlds. Behind the picture was one of his recent letters he had gotten from this dad.

He sighed, he missed his dad. Even though he was silly and clumsy and embarrassing sometimes, Max still loved him. He wanted to go with him, but Goofy would not allow it.

"Im sorry, Max. I really wish you could. But its too dangerous and you are still much too young." Goofy had told him before he left.

Max was only 14, he tried to protest, but Goofy still wouldnt allow his son to go with him. Afraid that Max could get hurt or kidnapped by a heartless, Goofy told his boy that he didnt know what he'd do if he lost him.

And after that, Max stood with Queen Minnie, Lady Daisy, and the other residents of Disney castle watching his dads ship take off and everyone cheered and waved and shouted good luck to them.

The younger Goof sighed, again. He sat up, he started to put his picture and his dads letter back under his pillow. And there was a knock at his door, and it was Queen Minnie.

"Good evening, Max." Minnie greeted the boy.

Max looked up at her, and he sat up and smiled. "Oh hey, I mean, ahem good evening your magesty," Max replied.

Minnie smiled warmly. "No need to be so formal Max." she told him. "It's just you and I here."

Max nodded, rubbing the back of his head. "Right, right" he replied.

Minnie came into the bedroom and sat next to him. "I hadn't gotten the chance to speak with you lately, how are you?" she asked.

Max shrugged his shoulders. "Oh I've been at the knights arena, been practicing my combat skills." He replied.

"And your schooling?" Minnie asked.

"Going good also, mostly A's and B's." Max said.

Minnie smiled, "wonderful, I'm glad to hear it." she said with a smile. "Have you received any letters from your father recently?"

Max sighed and shook his head. "No..actually I haven't. Last letter I got from him was last month and I haven't heard from him since then..I'm a little worried, this isn't like him."

"Don't worry Max, I am positive that he's okay." Minnie reassured him.

"You think so?" Max asked.

"I know so," Minnie responded. "I have known your father a long time and I know he can be a bit silly and clumsy and forgetfull sometimes. But he is also the kindest most loyal most loving person I have ever met and he's strong hearted too. And he loves you very much. Don't let anyone ever try to tell you otherwise."

Max smiled softly, "I know," he said. "Do you ever wonder if we will ever see them again?"

"Oh of course we will. I believe in them, and I know it's hard because they have been gone for a long time. But they will be back I know it." Minnie responded, "Don't ever lose hope Max."

The younger goof smiled back and nodded, the two sat in silence for a moment. Just then there was a trumpet sounding outside and Max jumped slightly, "whoa what!?" he gasped and Minnie jumped up running to the window she could see something coming.

"Quick Max, alert lutenent Horace and the rest of the guards and get ready!"

Max wasted no time and grabbed his shield that his father gave him and rushed out of the room. Minnie followed him out and Horace was already heading their way.

"Queen Minnie, we can't tell what's coming but we have already assembled the guards out in the court yards!" Horace told her.

Max rushed over to a near by window and he saw a ship preparing to land. "What is that?"

Minnie came over with her telescope and she looked through it and she gasped, it wasn't just any ship, it was the ship Donald and Goofy left on to go find the keyblade barer. "It's..the gummi ship!" she said. "I know who's on it!"

And then she put her telescope away and rushed towards the gates. Max and Horace and other residents of the castle were rushing out to see who was coming.

They made it outside and the ship was getting closer and it landed on the ground, just as Minnie, Horace, Max, and all the others made it to the court yard.

The doors to the ship opened and Minnie gasped as she saw King Mickey emerge from it. "They're back!" she cried rushing up to the ship.

Max followed her pushing his way through people and he saw Minnie run right into Mickey's arms. Donald came out next and Daisy rushed passed the younger goof and hugged Donald tightly kissing his face over and over again.

And Max stopped running for a moment, he looked around wildly looking for his father, and for moment he didn't see him come out, he began to fear that something happened but then finally Captain Goofy came out of the ship looking around for his boy.

Max's eyes widened and then Goofy looked right at him and he gasped.

"MAX!" Goofy cried running toward his boy.

"DAD!" Max cried out as well and he rushed forward.

Goofy's arms were open wide as they got closer and closer, but Goofy hadn't expected Max to glomp him to the ground.

"Ooof!" he gasped but instantly wrapped his own arms around his boy. "Aw Maxie!" he cried as the tears began pouring down his face.

Max had hugged his dad so tightly, burying his face into his shirt refusing to let go, he too had tears in his eyes.

"Dad, dad I can't believe it!" Max cried "I was starting to think I'd never see you again!"

Goofy smiled hugging his boy and stroking his hair gently. "Told ya I,d be back son." he replied.

Max pulled back a moment to look up at his father, as Goofy gently wiped away his tears gently.

"I missed you Dad," Max told him.

Goofy pulled his boy close for another hug. "I missed you too son, you have no idea."

Max hugged back and smiled. "I know I don't always say it Dad, but I love you please don't ever stay gone that long ever again."

"Aw I love you too son, always and forever." Goofy replied.

Max stood up helping his dad up as well and Minnie and Mickey and Donald and Daisy approached them.

"It's so good to see you both!" Minnie said to Goofy and Donald. "Thank you for your bravery and for restoring peace to our world and all the others, and for bringing Mickey back safely.

The two saluted Minnie, and bowed in respect. "It was our duty and our job to protect you and the king and we would do it all over in a heartbeat." Goofy said as Donald nodded in agreement.

"I know you would, and now it's time to celebrate your return," Minnie said.

Max grinned as he walked beside his father and the others. "You gotta tell me everything!" He said to his father, and Goofy chuckled. "You got it and I can't wait to hear all your stories too!"

"Then how about we have a duel and I can show you what I've learned while you've been away." Max replied with a smirk.

"Oh is that right?" Goofy said. "Think you could handle your old man?"

"Without a doubt." Max responded and he playfully elbowed his dad's shoulder.

"We'll just see," Goofy replied and he smirked and pulled is son into a headlock ruffling his hair, laughing.

"Ahh! Daaad!" Max said in between laughs and Goofy laughed letting him go and running forward.

Max started laughing also, running after him. "I'll get you for that!" he said chasing him all the way towards the castle.

At last Goofy, Donald, and the king were home safe. And there was peace in all the world's. Max was happy to finally have his father back even though he was clumsy and silly and down right embarrassing at times but he loved him so much and he wouldn't trade him for anything.
