Chapter 3

"Have you ate meat?"

Looking up from the tablet Gohin was letting her use, she saw him coming out of the spare room. A box in his hands, she nodded. "I have, on a regular basis." She had a feeling she knew where this conversation is going. She has been looking up information on this world, their laws, to get a grasp of what she could expect while she was here.

If only she had this luxury when she arrived in the Feudal Era.

Gohin grunted as he set the box down by a growing pile near another room. "When was the last time you ate meat?" He asked.

"The morning before Giro found me. I had roasted fish."

Gohin paused outside the door of the room. Looking back at her, she could tell he had an eyebrow raised. "Fish? Wasn't expecting that. So its been roughly nine days?" At her nod he looked back into the room he was cleaning out for her. "How have you not lost yourself to your instincts?" He was curious. Her being as calm as she was after not consuming meat in so long was interesting to say the least.

She shrugged even though he couldn't see it, she ignored the pain in her shoulder. "Probably because humans are omnivores? We mostly get proteins and vitamins, mostly B12 from meat we eat. Some humans are able to eat only vegetables and fruits while taking supplements to make up for what they miss out on from not eating meat." She explained while he got more boxes from the spare room.

Bringing the last two boxes out of the room, he sat them down by the pile. "I did not know that about humans." He rubbed his chin in thought. "Where did you get this meat from? Do they have Black Markets where you're from?" He asked while pulling out a chair across from her at the small table.

Shaking her head in the negative, she took a sip of the bamboo tea Gohin made before he started cleaning out the spare room. Placing the cup down gently, she crossed her arms on the table. "Well, the fish I ate my friend and I caught ourselves. However, there are stores and restaurants all over the place that serve meat of all kinds. Its common place for someone to consume it, only those that are vegetarians or vegans really have a problem with it. They make up a small percentage of the population though." She explained.

"You're not from this world are you?" He bluntly asked.

Her jaw dropped, he caught on quickly. Flushing slightly, she ran a hand through her hair nervously. Not looking at him. "No, I'm not and I don't know how I got here..." She trailed off. Focusing back on the Giant Panda. "What gave it away?"

Leaning back in the chair, he crossed his arms across his chest. "You're fucking weird." He stated bluntly.

She couldn't help it, she let out a giggle snort. Covering her mouth in embarrassment, she turned a shade of red resembling a tomato.

Gohin smirked, he honestly didn't give a damn if she was from some other world. Her reaction was priceless. "I only asked because you don't know anything about our world or laws and your casual way of speaking about eating meat." He explained.

"Oh, that makes sense, I'm sorry about that."

He huffed. "Don't apologize. I probably would be confused myself. So, are there a lot of humans where you're from?" He asked.

Placing her hands around the warm tea cup, she nodded. "Yup, there are over seven billion of us." She jumped when his palms slammed on the table, violently shaking it and the items on it. Her tea nearly spilled out of her cup.

"Not shit!? That many? How many animals are there?" If she didn't look so honest when she said it, he probably wouldn't have believed her. Damn, seven billion?

Blinking, she tilted her head to the side slightly. "Well... there aren't animals like you in my world, most aren't very intelligent and act on their instincts. They hunt, breed, and live wild for the most part. Some are domesticated and kept as pets by humans. Nothing like what I've seen here so far." There were demons, but they were so much different than the animals that are here.

"Fascinating, so what you're saying is that we have taken the roll of you humans in this world?" At her nod he tapped his chin in thought. "Kind of hard to believe, but if we exist here, what is to say there aren't other worlds or parallel dimensions that separate us?"

She smiled, it was nice that he wasn't freaking out like she expected other than his initial outburst. Stretching, she flinched when sharp pain went through her arm. Cursing under her breath, she looked at her arm and saw red seeping through her bandages. She must of opened her wound when Gohin slammed his hands on the table and she flinched.

"Shit, I'll get the first aid kit. Stay there."

Watching him go, she waited until he was in the bathroom, once he passed the threshold she held her hand up and concentrated. She could feel her powers just below the surface of her skin. There was a very faint blue glow and then it fizzled out. Sighing, it seemed that she was still too weak to use her powers to heal herself.

She shouldn't be too surprised, she woke up in Gohin's bed just a few hours before. Looking at the time, it was nearly eleven at night.

So lost in thought, she didn't notice that Gohin was back until the first aid kit was placed on the table in front of her. Thankfully she kept herself from jumping.

Gohin gave her a look she couldn't quite place. It was hard to read him since his eye's were so dark. He crouched down to her level and looked at her arm, then back to her eye's. "Do you want to wrap your arm yourself? Or are you ok with me doing it?" He asked gently. The last thing he wanted was for her to be scared of him like she was earlier and flinch away from him at his touch. It didn't sit well with him.

Giving him a small smile, she lifted the sleeve of her shit up enough to uncover her bandaged arm. "It's alright, I'm sorry for be scared before, I was disoriented and confused." She could clearly tell he wasn't a bad guy, she knew she could trust him.

Nodding, he immediately set about replacing her bandages, opening up the first aid kit, he pulled out the scissors and snipped end where the bandages were tied off. Making sure to keep his movements slow and didn't make any sudden movements. He unwrapped her arm, there was blood sluggishly flowing from the top claw mark from Giro's index nail.

Seeing the injury pissed him off, only a senseless animal would do such a thing some someone innocent. Keeping his emotions in check, he then cleaned the area and added ointment on to the wound. He was surprised she didn't react, he knew the shit stinged.

Thankfully she didn't need stitches, the claw marks weren't that deep. They would most likely scar though.

As he was wrapping her arm, his phone buzzed on the table. Glancing at it briefly, he saw that it was a notification alerting him of movement in the interrogation room. Shit, he forgot about that damn wolf he found outside the Black Market when he was out while Kagome was asleep.

Fuck.

"Everything ok Mr. Gohin?"

At the question he looked up to the Human under his care. She had her head tilted to the side, almost like a puppy. Shaking his head, he finished tying her bandage before standing up. Before he could stop himself, he patted the top of her hair gently. The action making her long wavy locks bounce. "Nah, everything is fine. I just have another guest in a different room. Don't call me Mr. either, I ain't that damn old." He grumbled.

Blinking up at the tall Panda, Kagome had a brief flashback to when she was a child. She vaguely remembered her father patting her head any time he would leave the house. Smiling, she bowed slightly. "Sorry, its a force of habit."

Picking up his phone off the table, he put the device in his back pocket. "Yeah, well, make it a habit to just call me Gohin kid." Walking to the door, he motioned to the fridge as he opened it. "I picked up a tofu salad and some eggs for you while I was out earlier. Help yourself to it if you get hungry. I shouldn't be gone long." He then shut the door with a soft click.

Once it was closed he sighed to himself and scratched the top of his head. What the hell was he getting himself into?

Walking next door, he pulled out a set of keys and unlocked the door. Once inside and locking the door again, he walked across the room to a reinforced door and unlocked it. Inside, he could see the Grey Wolf that was bound to the poll and muzzled starting to wake up.

Going to the camera but the single chair in the room, he turned it on. At the sound of chains moving behind him, he turned around.

"Morning Kid."
