Chapter 1
Ok, quick A.N. I have never written fanfiction before. I just started to read it a year or two ago, and instantly loved all the diversity of it. After a while, I finally decided to stop being lazy and try to make one myself. One of my bigger motivators is probably what's happening right now. Because of Corona, I find myself stuck inside with little to do except play video games. And so, I have decided to finally write my own fanfiction. Please don't hate on me too hard if it sucks, but feel free to review whatever you want. Even if it's a flame. The review section was made for readers to leave their opinion, and if you think that my story is so garbage that I should just give up, and break my computer, then burn my hard drive, then say it. Although that doesn't mean I particularly enjoy reading them. On another note, just wanted to say that the beiginning is really cliche, sorry about that. I plan to make it more original as it progresses. Here's my story. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto. If I did, I definitely would have made it so some of the background characters can actually stand their own against white Zetsu. I mean, come on, the Zetsu's are literally oversized babies. They can't do anything. How can you have made chunin, and be that weak?
The Hidden Leaf Village. Many words could be used to describe it. Powerful, kind, and just the all-around good guys. But, things can really change depending on what perspective you're viewing it with.
Deep within the village, in a run-down house, a boy with golden hair was lying down on his bed, and those words would be the last he would use to describe it. Currently, he was wondering what the best course of action for this evening would be. It was the anniversary of the defeat of the Kyuubi, the fearsome nine-tailed fox that wreaked havoc on the village 6 years ago (Or if you wanna be an optimist, his birthday). It was a day of mourning.
What does this have to do with the boy's current predicament? Well, for some reason, for as long as Naruto could remember, this day was a day of great pain. Every year, he would be chased down by a handful of villagers who were in a drunken rage. When they caught him, they would kick him and beat him until he lost consciousness. Naruto knew exactly why they did this. He was the container of the very same demon that attacked the village 6 years ago. The villagers didn't know he knew, but, come on, what did they think he was, an Idiot? It doesn't take the brightest person to figure it all out.
But that's beside the point. The main issue is what's the best course of action. See, he could wait in his apartment like a sitting duck, so the villagers can come and find him. OR, he could try to run. If he did do this, it'll take longer for the villagers to find him. However, when they did find him (and they will; they always did), the beating will be twice as severe.
Naruto's thoughts were interrupted by a short, loud rap at the door
'Guess I don't have to make the choice.' Naruto thought glumly as he trudged his way across, knowing what awaits on the other side.
Well, at least they were polite enough to knock this time. Maybe that means the beatings are going to be less severe? Naruto shook his head at such an outlandish idea. Of course not. As Naruto slowly opened the door, he was greeted, not by an angry horde of villagers, but instead an Anbu with a bull mask.
"The Hokage has requested your presence." The Anbu said in a monotone. That caused some confusion within Naruto. Why would the Hokage be calling him? Hokage-ojiji only came to visit him once a month, and he already met with him 3 days ago.
'Maybe he finally realized what the villagers were doing, and finally decided to help me out!' Naruto thought with a smile.
"Ok! Lead the way!" Naruto shouted happily, oblivious to the Anbu's smirk under his mask. The Anbu held Naruto's hand and led the way, first walking out the apartment, then going down the main road. While they were walking, all the villagers were glaring at Naruto, whispering to each other, but not daring to do more due to the Anbu with him. Naruto ignored all of it while skipping along the road in his happy state of bliss.
Due to this, Naruto didn't notice the turn into an alleyway they made until it was already too late. Before he knew what was happening, he was already surrounded by several men and women. But no, that wasn't the worst part. What really scared Naruto, was that these villagers were not drunk like usual. No, they were very aware of what was happening. Not only that, some of them even had weapons!
Naruto tried to slowly back off, only to realize Anbu was still holding his hand.
"You're not going anywhere, demon. You knew how hard it was to find an authentic mask?" The Anbu said in glee, as he removed his mask. It revealed an ordinary villager, but Naruto didn't have long to examine his face. He was quickly pushed down to the ground, and it started.
"OK! Leave the demon here to rot, we don't want the Anbu to figure out it was us who did it!" said one villager.
"Yeah right! Speak for yourself. Me an' couple of my friends tried that a few years back, and the brat was skipping around the village like he owned it in 3 days! I'm gonna stay here, finish what I started." Another villager said with a slight slur.
"Ok, just do it quickly." a woman said, before the rest of them funnelled out of the alleyway, leaving just Naruto and the other man.
"I've never told 'uo wha' you took from meh that day, did I, demon?" he stated while poking Naruto repetitively. "My little girl. She just became a chuni'. I was so proud. But, then…. you came. You ruined everything. And for that, you have to pay." and with a maniacal glint in his eyes, he swung out a kunai from behind his back, straight onto Naruto's throat. All of a sudden, something awakened in Naruto. He knew exactly what to do. When the swing came, it cut right through. It didn't stop, it just didn't hit Naruto. Where his throat used to be, in its place was, water?
"What! Stop it demon. Just die!" Shouted the man, after taking another swing. And once again, the same thing happened. His throat was completely made up out of water.
"Fine brat, I was gonna make your death swift and painless, but you're forcing me otherwise!" The man then proceeded to bring up his fist, and encase it in chakra. He started to pummel Naruto. And this time, he could feel it.
After a bit, Naruto started to lose consciousness. When he woke up, he reappeared in the midst of what seemed to be a sewer.
'Where am I?' Naruto thought. There were pipes running along the wall, all leading to the end of the tunnel. Naruto followed then, each step resonating a splash across the silent room. When Naruto finally reached the end of the hall, he was met with a cage. The only thing he could see was a massive, orange…. paw?
"Wh-who's there!" stuttered out Naruto. Then, a voice ranged out of the cage.
"Look who it is. Looks like my captor finally decided to pay me a visit. How…. thoughtful." Naruto, on hearing this, instantly realized who he was speaking with.
"Y-you're the-"
"That's right, brat." it said while taking a step forward, revealing it's massive fox body. "I'm the bringer of earthquakes, creator of tsunamis, the fearsome Kyuubi!" It roared.
Naruto, instead of acting scared, decided to ask him a question.
"Why are your ears so big?" Naruto asked innocently.
The kyuubi's eye twitched. "Listen brat, I'm the all-powerful Kyuubi. If I wanted to, I could kill you right here and now!" At those words, Naruto remembered his current predicament.
"Well, if you're so powerful, then why don't you prove it to me?"
"What do you have in mind, brat?" The massive fox said curiously, with a dangerous smirk.
"Help me stop the person attacking me!" Naruto demanded with as much confidence as he could manage.
"Very well. Just this once, I'll give you what you want. Now let me rest." And with that, Naruto was sent back to the real world.
When Naruto woke up, he felt better than ever. The man that was beating him, backed up, noticing the change in Naruto's chakra. Naruto got up and looked down at his hands. All of his previous wounds were quickly closing up. Naruto got down, then bolted straight at the man. However, even though Naruto was strong, he was yet to get shinobi training, so he was no match for a veteran. When he finally reached him, the ninja quickly bought his fist down, intent on killing Naruto with this blow.
But, when Naruto was hit, his fist went right through him. This time, however, the water was boiling hot. In an attempt to pull his fist out, he noticed he couldn't. Soon enough, his entire body was covered in the water, with him slowly burning to death. That was the last image Naruto saw, before slowly passing out.
Sorry for the short chapter. I'll try and make it longer next time! Sorry for the cliche "Naruto gets beat by a mob", but I really didn't have another original way to introduce this part. Make sure to check this fic soon, I'll try my hardest to post quickly. In case anybody has not yet realized what technique Naruto is using, it's the body liquifying technique (the one Suigetsu has, where his body turns into water wherever it is hit.) Anyways, thanks for reading. Please review!
(Edit: 2020-04-05) Just fixed a few grammar mistakes and a couple of other things.
