Summary: Xander receives an unusual late night visitor.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters portrayed here, they remain the property of their respective owners/creators.

Rating: PG, for themes.

Time Frame: Just after "Chosen." (spoilers through that point for both Buffy and Angel).

Archiving: Be my guest, but e-mail me ([email protected]) to let me know. . .I like to know where stuff I write ends up and I might want to see what else you've got.

Author's Comment: Another drabble. It just seemed right.

Dedication: To Te, for inspiring it with her sadness over Anya's end, and to Emma, for bringing Anya to life so memorably.

VALHALLA

Xander stared at the beautiful woman. "You're a Valkyrie."

"Yes." Her voice was musical, yet strong: she looked amused. "We came for Anya--she is more than worthy of Valhalla. She sends her love."

Xander's throat tightened, but he sensed that crying in front of Odin's handmaiden was inappropriate. "Please send her mine." A worrisome thought abruptly occurred to him. "Are there bunnies in Valhalla?"

"Not any more." The Valkyrie laughed, and faded slowly from view. "We may meet again, Xander Harris--you too are worthy. Until that day, farewell." She was gone.

Xander wept, and wondered about the future.
