This is a fanfic based on Megaman Legends 1 and 2
The last one I made didn't go too well, so this is going to be a 2.0 version.
I only own my OCs in this fanfic, including the main OC, XX-23, or Exodia.
With this out of the way, let us begin.

Megaman POV:

It had been awhile since I'd gotten into a set of ruins without any issues whatsoever, and my spotter Roll agreed on that much. We were currently on a set of ruins and I was just about to find the treasure room.

"Megaman? I think you're getting close, but beware of traps, okay?" I heard Roll say to me on my radio, me nodding at that despite the fact that the transmission was getting a tiny bit spotty.

"Don't worry, Roll, I'm getting into the treasure room right now," I said as I opened the door and entered... but there was no treasure! Instead, there was what looked to be... well, a person! A girl that looked to have similar armor to me, only she didn't look to be completely human. I could tell from the fact she had antenna on her head and that she had metal jutting from parts of her cheeks, where skin looked to be previously, but not now.

"What is it, Megaman? Is there a treasure there?" Roll asked.

"Well... I found something, but it's not a treasure... it's a person... they look like they're partly robotic too," I said as I approached with caution and then, when I was sure there were no traps, I poked the girl in the face, wondering if that may do anything. When I did so, I gasped as I felt something happened. Static electricity from me shuffling my feet across the ground. And when I touched her and the electricity zapped her, the person then made a groan as she then opened her eyes, her being confused afterwards, me looking at her in confusion.

"Wha?... Where... Where am I?... And... who are you?" the girl asked, me being surprised at how she woke up as did Roll.

"Is that the person you talked about, Megaman?" Roll asked me.

"Y-Yeah," I said, the girl looking at me in confusion.

"What's your name?..." she asked with a confused gaze.

"Megaman. Megaman Volnutt," I said, the girl tilting her head at that as she then got up from her seated position... and I immediately knew we had to escape. "Come on, we need to get out of here!" I exclaimed, grabbing her by the arm and having us rush out of the door before we could get closed in by the trap that activated.

"What happened back there?" the girl asked.

"When you sat up, you triggered a trap," I said, her frowning at that.

"So... not a booby trap... but a booty trap?" she asked, me smirking and trying to hold in my laughter, but Roll failed.

"HAHAHAHA! O-Okay, enough... rgk... jokes! I'm picking up some activity near you two. I think you woke up the Reaverbots with that.. hehe, booty trap. Be careful," Roll said, trying to keep her seriousness and failing.

"Okay, what's your name, miss?" I asked her, the girl tilting her head again as she felt her cheeks and felt the metal that was showing.

"I... I don't have a name, honestly," she said, me being surprised by that. "I have a model number, but that's all I recall... it's right here on the back of my hand, see?" she said as she showed the model number as XX-23.

"Well, how about instead of calling you XX-23, we call you Exodia?" I asked, the girl smiling at that.

"Exodia, huh?... Sounds like a tough name... I'd like that, Megaman," she smiled at me as we then looked around the corner and we saw some Reaverbots, the green ones that liked spinning and shooting bombs.

"Those are Reaverbots. Do you have any kind of weaponry that can take them out?" I asked her.

"Weaponry?... Hmm..." she hummed as she then did something shocking. She converted her hand into a weapon that I gawked at. It was a blaster gun that looked awfully similar to my Buster Gun, only her's was colored green while mine was blue. She then shot at the Reaverbots and her energy shots not only defeated them with one shot each, but also converted their bodies into Refractors!

"Whoa, WHAT?!" I gawked at the power of her weapon.

"What's the matter? Did I do something wrong?" Exodia asked in confusion.

"No, the complete opposite! Your weapon turned the Reaverbots into Refractors, which we need in order to survive on this planet!" I said with excitement as I collected the Refractors and put them in my storage pack on my back.

"Refractors... hmm... I think I can remember something..." Exodia frowned as she placed her left finger on her temple with a frown. "I remember a face... they said... I was to save carbons... from a system... ugh... it's all fuzzy..." Exodia groaned as we then moved forward some more down the place.

"Don't worry, it'll come back at some point, I'm sure," I smiled at her, Exodia smiling at me.

"Thanks, Megaman," she smiled as we were about to move into another room and Roll got on my radio with worry.

"Hold it! Don't move!" she exclaimed as a very quick Reaverbot zoomed in front of us through the next hallway, but we didn't get seen by it.

"Thanks Roll," I smiled.

"Yeah, you're welcome," she smiled back.

"Who is this 'Roll' you speak of? Is she on a radio of yours?" Exodia asked.

"Yeah, she's my Spotter. She scans these ruins from the safety of the Flutter while I go in and get the treasure. We were told that this island may have a connection to the Motherload, but I think we may have found someone that correlates to it," I smirked.

"Motherload? What's that?" Exodia asked.

"A source of energy so vast and expansive, if anyone were to find it, the world will never need to search for energy in ruins ever again," I said with a smile. But then we entered another room and we saw that we had a barrier blocking our way out of the ruins. "Hmm... we're going to need to find the generator for this barrier to get through."

"I think I can see a blip on the radar a few rooms nearby. It's probably the generator you need," Roll said. We then looked in that direction and eventually found the generator in question, Exodia hitting it with her cannon again and the Generator not only turning off, but it turned into a pretty big Refractor, one that was blue and about the size of my head!

"Whoa! That's a good sized Refractor! This could come in handy!" I smiled at Exodia.

"I see. Um, question, but why are there bad robots in these ruins and why was I considered the treasure of these ruins?" Exodia asked in confusion.

"I honestly have no idea. All I know is that you were here and you were turned off until I accidentally shocked you with static electricity. And you clearly have some kind of correlation to Refractors, since any robot or machine you defeat turn into Refractors," I deduced.

"You use sound reasoning, Megaman. Maybe, when we get you out of those ruins, we should keep Exodia with our team. She might come in handy," Roll suggested.

"Well, Exodia? Do you think that you'd like to stick with me and my team on the Flutter when we get out of these ruins? We'll try to help you restore your memory in the process," I smiled at her, Exodia smiling at me kindly at that.

"I'd like that a lot. I accept your offer," Exodia smirked at me as we then went to the door that had the barrier to it and then Roll got on the horn again.

"I'm detecting a very big blip on the radar in the door ahead. It's probably a Reaverbot. be.. carefu... hu...? Meg..man.. ca.. ear... me?... 'm... losing... yo... trans...sion... aking..." Roll's voice tried to say on the radio, but she was getting heavy static on my end.

"Dangit! This isn't a good thing. Roll just lost our connection!" I groaned, Exodia frowning as she then tried to touch her antennas, pinching the tips with both fingers and her mouth opening in the process... and Roll's voice appeared on the other line!

"Megaman! Oh thank goodness, I thought the transmission got cut!" Roll said with worry, me smiling at her.

"It did on my radio, but it looks like Exodia happens to have a radio signature of her own," I smiled into Exodia's mouth.

"Thanks, Exodia. When facing the Reaverbot in the next room, try to use everything you got on him. So long as that Reaverbot is still functioning, the elevator that leads to the surface won't work," Roll said, me nodding at that.

"Got it, thanks for the tip, Roll. Okay, we're gonna face the Reaverbot now, so Exodia's going to cut you off," I said, Roll smiling.

"Okay, stay safe, both of you," Roll said, me smirking as Exodia then cut the connection and she turned her arm into a gun again, us then moving through the door and into the next room, where we saw that the Reaverbot was actually a giant one! One that had a giant arm that it tried to slam on me the moment it saw me! Exodia then started to send rounds from her gun at the Reaverbot and I saw that it was doing damage, but not turning the Reaverbot giant into Refractors.

"See if you have any other weapons while I attack it with my Buster Gun some more!" I said, me shooting some rounds at the giant Reaverbot as I strafed around it. Exodia then looked to be trying to morph her left arm into something, which is then that I saw it morph into, get this, a second gun, only this one had a small black hole emerge from it that, upon connecting to the Reaverbot, it got trapped in the black hole and it did heavy damage to it! I could see smoke billow from it as the giant Reaverbot then started to explode into bits! And the big kicker was that, upon getting destroyed, it separated into five more head-sized blue Refractors!

"That was awesome! What kind of attack was that?" I smirked at Exodia.

"I don't know... I think it was some kind of singularity attack..." she said honestly as I then got Roll's transmission back on my radio.

"Great job, guys! Okay, the elevator should be open now. We're waiting for you just outside of the ruins," Roll said, me smirking at that.

"Got it," I smiled at her as I then looked at Exodia with a smile.

"Here we go," she smiled at me as we then went to the elevator and rode it to the very top. I just had to hope that we could help Exodia out. Especially since any Reaverbot she defeated turned into Refractors. She was sure to have a connection to the Motherload, but we'd have to wait a bit longer for her memory to fully recover before we could know for sure.
