He stood right there, observing his surroundings. He was standing in the center of the town plaza. It was a warm and sunny day with the birds singing, which fit perfectly for a beautiful day. The town plaza was decorated with flowers all across as if it was a flower show. In front of him there were rows of chairs for the occasion that had family members, close friends, and almost all of the town's villagers present.

This man was the town's mayor and it was a special day not only for him but for someone else as well. This was the wedding of him and his special someone and that certain someone was his secretary that was with him since his first day as mayor. He still remembers the day he first met her as if it were yesterday.

He was looking to start a new life and so he hopped on the train and was off to finally be independent from his parents. After a long conversation with another rider named Rover, he disembarked the train and walked straight out of the station to a few of the town's villagers surprising him. A yellow dog walked up and greeted him with absolute enthusiasm. She introduced herself as "Isabelle" and helped the man settle into the town. The town had one serious issue however. There was no mayor. The previous mayor had retired recently and Isabelle was taking the responsibilities until a new mayor could be found. The man quickly began helping her with the responsibilities and eventually took over as the town's new mayor. The innocent Isabelle was the greatest secretary that the mayor could ever ask for. Her adorable and enthusiastic personality made her and the mayor's friendship bond significantly. Eventually, the mayor began seeing her as more than just a close friend. He was falling for her. Whether it was because of her looks, her kindness, or enthusiasm, he knew that he had to ask her out. He was nervous though, he didn't know if Isabelle even felt the same way about him and the thought of being rejected by her made his heart sink.

The mayor turned the town into one of the greatest cities in the area and as a result of all the positive feedback that visitors had given, Isabelle organized a celebration ceremony in the town's plaza. The party was a special get together in which people dressed nice in tuxedos and dresses. The mayor was one of the first to show up since it was his responsibility to greet the residences to the celebration. As he greeted everyone who came to attend, Isabelle immediately caught his attention. She showed up wearing a cute pink dress with her hair neatly done, and face in makeup. The mayor felt himself blushing so hard at his secretary's beauty that he had to walk away so Isabelle wouldn't see him. Later, when the dance floor was bombing with dancers, the mayor noticed Isabelle sitting at a table with Tom Nook along with Timmy and Tommy. He knew he had to go say hello to her eventually. He took a deep breath and walked over to her.

"Hello, Isabelle." The mayor said with a smile. Isabelle looked up and smiled with excitement. "MAYOR!" Cried out Isabelle as she jumped from her chair and hugged the mayor with her paws as tight as she could. The mayor smiled and blushed until an announcement from K.K Slider got everyone's attention. "Alright everyone, it's time to start slow dancing so let's get on the dance floor!" As people ran to the dance floor, the mayor said: "Isabelle, may I have this dance?" with his hand extended. Isabelle smiled and said: "Of course, Mr. Mayor." As K.K Slider started playing "Bubblegum", the mayor and Isabelle slowly began to dance. As the mayor stared into Isabelle's beautiful eyes, he heard her say: "You did it, Mr. Mayor." The mayor was confused and said: "Did what?" Isabelle giggled and replied: "You made our town the best there is." That's when the mayor knew he had to say it. It was now or never and he couldn't lose his true love. "Isabelle." The mayor slowly uttered. "Yes, Mayor?" Isabelle said while turning her head. The mayor's heart was pounding and it took him a few seconds before he finally said: "I love you, Isabelle." Isabelle's eyes widened and she wanted to be sure she heard that correctly and said: "What was that, Mr. Mayor?" With his eyes closed, the mayor quickly said: "I love you, Isabelle. For a long time now I've had strong feelings for you. I was too afraid to admit it to you. I know I've probably just embarrassed myself so I should probably go now. I'm very sorry, Isabelle." As the mayor tried to walk away, Isabelle grabbed the mayor's hand and said: "Don't be sorry, Mayor." The mayor's eyes widened feeling the grip of Isabelle's paw around his arm. Turning back at her, Isabelle said with a smile: "I've felt the same way about you as well." "Yo-you have?" The mayor stutterd with shock. "I was afraid to tell you as well, Mayor. I didn't know how you would react to me saying I had a crush on you." The mayor smiled and said: "Isabelle, will you go out with me?" Isabelle with her eyes shut and a big smile replied with: "Of course I will, Mayor." When Isabelle opened her eyes she noticed how close her face was to the mayor's. The two stared into each other's eyes blushing until they inched closer and closer until their lips touched for the first time.

Months had passed, the two remained close sweethearts and they always stayed loyal to each other. They always started the day with a kiss before they would even start their responsibilities. Eventually, Isabelle moved in with the mayor at his house. They would usually end their work days by holding hands as they walked to The Roost for a hot refreshing cup of coffee. One time, they took a vacation to a luxurious island thanks to Kapp'n offering the two lovebirds a free boat ride to the island. The entire town was so happy for the two and ever since they started their relationship, many of the villagers treated the mayor and Isabelle as if they were a king and queen.

Finally, the mayor knew that Isabelle was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. One night he took her to the shopping center of the town on a date. It was a snowy night and the two were bundled up in coats, gloves, hats, and scarfs. "It's such a cold night out, Mayor." Isabelled said. The mayor smiled and replied: "It might be cold out but you are enough to warm my heart." Isabelle smiled and said: "You warm me up too." along with a kiss on the mayor's cheek. It was time. Time for the mayor to pop the big question. "Can I ask you something, Isabelle?" The mayor said nervously. Isabelle noticed the nervous tone of voice and replied: "What is it, Mayor?" There was no turning back now. The mayor got on his knee and pulled out a red velvet box from his coat pocket. Isabell gasped and covered her mouth with her paws as tears of joy started to appear in her eyes. "Isabelle, I thought the day I stepped off that train I would be a nobody. I was so nervous I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know that I would meet a beautiful dog that I love with all my heart and soul. When I finally confessed my feelings for you those many months ago, it was a dream come true. Now, I want that dream to last me a lifetime." The mayor then opened up the small red box to reveal a diamond engagement ring. "Isabelle Shizue, will you marry me?" Jumping with absolute joy, Isabelle screamed: "YES I WILL, MAYOR! YES I WILL!" The mayor then took the beautiful ring out of the box and slipped it on to Isabelle's left paw. Immediately, everyone around them clapped with utter glee as the newlyweds shared a kiss.

The news of the engagement quickly spread fast. Everyone from Tom Nook, Mr. Resetti, Reese and Cyrus, Blathers, Kapp'n, K.K Slider, the Able Sisters to all the town's villagers offered as much support as possible to help them prepare the wedding. After a few months, it was finally time. The day where they would be united as man and wife.

As the mayor looked out at the crowd full of all of the town's villagers, he saw many familiar faces. In the front row were his parents. It had been a while since he saw his parents and when he told him about his engagement to Isabelle, they couldn't believe that their son would soon be a married man. In the rows, Timmy, Tommy, Resetti, Don, Resse, Cyrus, Blathers, Celeste, Kapp'n, Leif, Kicks, Mabel, Label and all of the town's other villagers were present. The mayor looked behind him to see his best man. It was Rover. That's right, somehow the news of the engagement got to Rover and he quickly called the mayor to congratulate him. The mayor thought of no one else to declare the best man since he was the first person that he ever talked to on his journey to his new life.

Suddenly, K.K Slider began to play the wedding march on his guitar as the mayor watched his soon to be father-in-law escort his lovely bride down the aisle. The mayor's jaw almost dropped when he saw how gorgeous his bride looked. She was wearing a beautiful white wedding dress that was made by the Able Sisters, a golden necklace, cherry lipstick, and a golden sash held up the long flowing skirt of her gown. Her golden hair was neatly styled in a bun in the back. In front of her face was a white clear veil that covered her face. When the music finally stopped, the two couldn't help but look at each other. "This is it." thought the mayor. "I love you, mayor and I can't wait to spend my life with you." Isabelle thought. Since the Able Sisters helped with the wedding dress, Isabelle had chosen Sable to be the maid of honor as a sign of appreciation for all she had done for her.

Finally, Tom Nook came up as the marriage officiant. "Citizens, today we have gathered to join these two in marriage. Long have these two loved each other and now here they stand, in front of all of us, to be joined, forever and ever. Mr. Mayor, you may now speak your vows." The mayor held Isabelle's paw and said: "Isabelle, I've loved you for a long time now and I've always admired you for your cute and enthusiastic personality. I never thought this day would come where there would be me and you standing together in front of all of the town's population but I'm glad it has. You've become my everything and I'm so happy to share my life with you." Tom Nook smiled and then he turned to Isabelle saying: "Isabelle, you may now speak your vows." "Mayor," Isabelle said, trying her best not to cry. "before that day you confessed your feelings for me, I had admired you for quite a while. You're a brave, strong, and most importantly handsome man and I never knew that one day we'd be standing in the town's plaza, exchanging our vows for each other. The first time we kissed, it was like fireworks going off in my heart. I'm glad you came off that train and into this town, because if you didn't, I would never have met the love of my life." The audience "awed" after hearing the speeches end. Then Tom Nook cleared his throat and said: "Mr. Mayor, do you take Isabelle to be your lawful wedded wife?" "I do." said the mayor with a tear in his eye. Tom Nook then turned to Isabelle and said: "And do you, Isabelle, take Mr. Mayor to be your lawful wedded husband?" "I do." Isabelle said, lowering her eyelids at her handsome mayor. "Well then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." The two smiled their biggest smiles in their life as the mayor lifted the veil away from Isabelle's face. And with all that, the two lovebirds shared the first kiss of their married lives. The entire crowd roared with applause and happy tears as the newlyweds got lost in their own little world. "Everybody." Tom Nook said with a smile as the two lovebirds finally broke the kiss to catch their breath. "I give you, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Mayor."

The cheers continued as the mayor and Isabelle strolled down the aisle. A limousine awaited the two lovebirds with a "just married" sign on the back. The new Mr. and Mrs. Mayor got into the limo and was immediately transported to the reception. Of course, they couldn't help but exchange a few more kisses on the way over.

The reception was held in the town hall. The mayor and Isabelle received numerous gifts and congratulations from everyone in the town. Hugs were given to the newlyweds from their parents to their new brother-in-laws, who wished them all the best. Afterwards the two would go off to their honeymoon to a luxurious island way far from the town.

All in all, the beginning of the next venture that life had to offer was an exciting day for the new Mr. and Mrs. Mayor. The best was in store for both of them.
