"What the hell is that thing…" A Lieutenant softly questioned as the crew of the Last Light looked in awe and fear at the massive construct which now hovered over Earth. Captain Yeong Seok-Lee was silent as he analysed the massive creature before he noticed a blue orb forming in front of the creature.

"Lieutenant Monroe get us the hell out of here!" Lee ordered before Monroe quickly sent the Last Light into slipspace following the Infinity's idea. The Last Light barely made it away, the Guardians EMP scratching the Last Lights thrusters. Luckily for the Last Light, they managed to escape leaving the EMP to cover the area, darkening the entirety of Earth and the ships surrounding Earth's orbit.

"Aika, Thor any idea if that thing can follow us?" Lee asked before the Last Lights two AI appeared on the nearby holotable.

"From what we managed to get before we entered slip space," Aika began her monotone voice providing Lee with some form of calmness, "we concluded that the construct should not be able to follow us." Lee sighed in relief before he ran a hand through his greying hair.

"Lieutenant Monroe keep us in slipspace for another hour and then pull us out. Steer clear of any major settlements and if necessary minor settlements as well." Lee ordered, mentally smiling when Monroe gave a sharp nod of understanding.

"Aika, Thor I need an update on our crew." Lee requested earning a nod from the two AI before they vanished from their captain's view. Lee was silent before he once again sighed and leaned against the holotable and looked around at his crew then back at the empty holotable.

"Looks like we're in for a long ride," Lee muttered to himself.

UNSC Last Light Armoury - Time: 17:32

"The hell just happened?" Sierra 118 or Harry questioned as he helped a Marine pick up several assault rifle magazines which had spilled when the Last Light had made the slipspace jump. A few items had been flung through the air, due to the EMP blast scrapping the thrusters so Harry decided to help clean up the small mess.

"We were forced to go into an emergency slipspace Spartan," Aika answered as she appeared on the singular holotable in the armoury, "due to an unknown construct." Harry raised an eyebrow before he nodded in understanding as his brain worked in overdrive to try and fill in any blanks that his brain could create.

"Thanks, Aika, let the captain know everyone in the armoury is good." Harry requested receiving a sharp nod of confirmation from Aika before the AI disappeared.

UNSC Last Light Hanger - Time: 17:40

"YOU GOT IT?"

"I got it!" Sigrun grunted as her muscles bulged while she tried to not drop the heavy Warthog. While a Spartan could at least lift 2 tons, the standard Warthog weighed in at 3.25 tons hence why Sigrun was struggling to keep the Warthog raised so a mechanic could be freed.

"Medic team over there!" One of the mechanics called out as he led the medic team over to where Sigrun and the injured mechanic was. The Spartan II, grunted as she shifted her hands slightly to get a better grip on the Warthog while the medic team carefully extracted the mechanic.

"Your clear Sigrun." One medic said and Sigrun nodded before she gently lowered the Warthog. As soon as the Warthog touched the ground Sigrun shook her arms a bit before she looked at the mechanic.

"Ouch, what happened here?" Thor asked as he appeared on a nearby monitor.

"Warthog came loose," Sigrun explained as she looked at Thor, "what exactly happened?" Sigrun asked curiously as she crossed her arms before Thor suddenly disappeared leaving Sigrun to wonder why of all AI's the Last Light had to have Thor.

UNSC Last Light Command Deck - Time: 18:30

"Bring us out, Lieutenant," Lee ordered as he crossed his arms while he looked to the outside of the ship.

"Exiting slipspace in three…two…one." The Last Light softly shuddered before it exited slipspace, slowing down until it came to a hovering stop over a planet which in some ways resembled Earth.

"Aika, Thor get me a scan of the planet. Search for any signs of UNSC life and contact them as soon as either of you finds anything." Lee ordered, earning a nod from the two AI who immediately got to work. While the AI's got to work, Lee decided to do a quick inventory check of the Last Light. Luckily the UNSC ship had managed to restock on supplies and equipment a few hours before the Guardian had made its entrance. Lee had only been at work for five minutes when both Aika and Thor reappeared.

"What did you two find?" Lee asked as he looked at the two.

"No signals regarding the UNSC or Covenant or Forerunner captain," Aika stated calmly.

"Buutttt what my sister failed to mention," Thor began before he raised his hands in a 'surrender' manner at the glare Aika sent his way, "we did manage to pick this up," Thor said before he pulled up three audio recordings.

"*Batorusutēshon!*"

"*Doragondearu hōrīkurappu!*"

"*Engēji!*"

Lee raised a surprised eyebrow at the audio recordings before he looked at Aika.

"Japanese…translate and replay." Aika nodded and in two seconds the audio recording had been successfully translated.

"*BATTLE STATIONS!*"

"*HOLY CRAP THAT'S A DRAGON!*"

"*ENGAGE!*"

"A…dragon?" Lee muttered in confusion before he frowned.

"How long ago was this sent?" Lee asked as he leaned on the holotable.

"Approximately five minutes ago sir," Thor answered, earning a nod of agreement from Aika. The two AI watched their captain, both knowing that Lee was thinking of what to do next.

"Tell Strikers One to Two to get geared up for a hot run and tell Reaper Four to get its crew set," Lee ordered earning looks of surprise from the two AI.

"Sir we're wasting ammunition on a dragon? A dragon may I mention which is possibly the biggest amount of-"

"I know," Lee snapped sending Thor a glare, alerting the AI that he was pushing Lee's normally large pool of patience, "but if there are civilians down there in need of assistance then I will risk looking like a fool and send out whoever I can to assist those people!" Thor remained silent before he nodded in understanding.

"*Striker One to Last Light Actual just left the Last Light.*"

"*Striker Two to Last Light Actual, following Striker One.*"

"*Reaper Four to Last Light Actual, leaving in five.*" Lee let out a small sigh as he watched the two Broadswords shoot down to the planet.

"Aika give us their live feeds, I want to see everything that occurs down there," Lee ordered as he eyed the holotable.

UNSC Broadsword Squad: Striker One & Two

UNSC Time: 18:38

Planet Time: Unknown

POV: 3RD Person, Striker One

"Striker One to Last Light Actual just broke through the planets orbit. ETA to kill box, five mics." The pilot stated as she ran a quick check over the Broadswords systems.

"*Copy that Striker One, good luck.*" The pilot chuckled as she finished her systems check before she refocused her attention to the task at hand.

"*Did the captain say what the hell our target was?*" Striker Two asked.

"Nope but hey I'll be glad just to get a chance to get a look at this place." The pilot admitted as she and Striker Two broke through the clouds.

"Place doesn't look too bad." The pilot muttered as she looked down at the landscape.

"*Yeah for a place like-LEFT LEFT LEFT!*" The pilot quickly looked to her left and her eyes widened as she saw a humongous red dragon battling something on the ground.

"Striker One to Last Light Actual we have eyes on the dragon. Target seems to be engaging civilian's. Striker One and Two are moving to engage."

"*Copy, you are clear to engage but watch for the civilians.*"

"Solid Copy actual," The pilot responded before the Broadsword shot towards the dragon, "Jax hit it with the Thirty Fives for now. Let's see how tough this thing's armour is."

"*Copy.*" Striker Two replied before the two Broadsword pilots armed their 35mm MLA Cannons as they neared the dragon, their index fingers hovering over the triggers.

JSDF 3rd Recon Team

JSDF Time: Unknown, 10 minutes before UNSC arrival

"CALIBER!" Lt Itami roared before the 50 Caliber turret mounted on the LAV burst with life, the 50. Caliber bullets flying through the air all hitting their target but seemingly made no effect against the dragon's thick scales.

"FIFTY CAL'S NOT DOING ANYTHING LT" Sgt Katsumoto roared though he kept up the barrage of 50. Caliber rounds hoping to keep the mighty beast's attention away from the civilians.

'Damnit,' Itami thought to himself as he tried to find a weakness, 'What the hell can we do-'

"LT YOU HEAR THAT?!" Itami pulled himself out of his thoughts before his eyes widened as the familiar sounds of jet engines could be faintly heard over the dragon's roars.

"EAST, EAST!" Kuribayashi called out causing most of the members of the 3rd Recon Team to look to their east in time to see two white jets in an unfamiliar design shooting towards the dragon.

"EVERYONE GET CLEAR!" Itami roared before the three-vehicle drivers slammed their feet onto the accelerators and zoomed away to give the jets a clear shot. While Itami had no idea if the jets were friendlies or hostiles he had a gut feeling that the jets weren't targeting them. His gut feeling proved true as the two jets opened fire and for a moment his spirits soared when he saw the two jets make contact with their weapons. That feeling disappeared when he saw that the jets cannons had left little to no effect.

UNSC Broadsword Squad: Striker One & Two

UNSC Time: 18:45

Planet Time: Unknown

"Well, that's a problem…" The pilot muttered as she saw that the 35mms had only scratched the dragon's armour, "Reaper Four what is your ETA?" The pilot asked, speaking into coms as she and Striker Two whirled around, firing another barrage to keep the dragon grounded.

"*Reaper Four to Striker One we have eyes on the target, get clear.*"

"Roger, be advised Thirty Fives did jack all. Recommending One-Tens or One-Twenty's to engage."

"*Solid Copy.*" The pilot pulled up, followed by Striker Two to get clear of the area and not be in the combat zone in case the dragon decided to attack. The crew of Reaper Four were silent as they neared the dragon.

"One-Twenties' armed."

"Engaging contact in five…"

JSDF 3rd Recon Team

"That looks like those American bomber jets," Kuribayashi muttered to herself, earning a nod from the soldiers who were in the same vehicle with her.

'Are they going to bomb the dragon? No there's too much risk of explosives hitting civilians.' Itami thought to himself as he eyed the third unidentified aircraft going under the assumption that the ship was a bomber. Itami did not expect for the loud THOOM, THOOM of a 120mm Cannon being fired but was happy and relieved that they did some form of damage. The 120mms had struck the dragons lower back and left scorch marks and dislodged some of the scales and destroyed some of the dragon's flesh. The fire dragon, roaring in pain, quickly took to the sky flying away to heal. As soon as the dragon departed the three ships did as well, shooting off back the way they came until they were both out of sight and hearing range.

"Well, …that's that then," Itami muttered as he slumped into his seat, relief washing over his body. Then he heard another set of engines and looked up at the sky and felt his eyes widened when he saw four aircrafts flying down to the former battleground.

"Lt what's the plan?" Sgt Tomita asked as he readied his rifle as did several other members of the 3rd Recon Team. Itami glanced at the squads most experienced member, Sgt Kuwahara, for some form of advice but received a short shrug as a response. Itami sighed before he fixed his helmet.

"Do not engage, let's see what they want," Itami said just as the four aircrafts' landed on the ground after they'd deployed their landing gear. The JSDF troops hesitantly lowered their weapons while Rory and Leilei poked their heads out of the vehicle to get a good look at the new arrivals. A few seconds of silence passed through the area as a few of the convoys civilians hesitantly eyed the four mysterious aircrafts'. Then the back of each aircraft opened and several soldiers, six to an aircraft, in mysterious green combat gear exited the aircrafts wielding rifles whose designs were unknown to the JSDF. Once all the troops exited the aircrafts the biggest surprise emerged from one of the aircrafts', said surprise causing all the JSDF troops and Special Region members to have their eyes widen, jaws drop or both.

A giant, at least 7 feet in height, emerged from one of the aircraft. Unlike the other soldiers, the giant wore a set of armour that none of the JSDF even recognised. The JSDF hesitantly glanced at Itami to figure out what to do next but were surprised to see a hint of fear in their CO's eyes. The giant glanced at the civilians then at the JSDF.

"Who's the best translator?" The giant asked and the JSDF was surprised that the giant was not only female but also spoke Japanese. Kurokawa hesitantly raised her hand before several of the troops ran over to her.

"Take these men and get them to help out any of the injured." The giant requested but with her tone, Kurokawa felt like it was more of an order. The team medic glanced at Itami who gave her a comforting nod. Kurokawa took in a deep breath before she led the unknown medics over to the civilians who were trying to fix what they could.

Itami then returned his attention to the towering giant who eyed Itami before she snapped a sharp salute as did the rest of the unknown soldiers. Itami eyed the giant as well as the other soldiers before he mentally sighed and returned the salute.

"First Lieutenant Yōji Itami, squad lead for Third Recon Team." Itami introduced before he dropped the salute as did the giant.

"Master Chief Petty Officer, Sierra One-Three-One of the UNSC." The giant replied. Itami was silent before he blinked five times.

"What's the UNSC?" The unknown soldiers were silent as they all stared at Itami in disbelief.

"Son of a bitch."
