"I found you!" Obito hissed, teleporting in next to them.

Tenten screamed in pure shock, grabbing Shino's arm, and instinctively teleporting them both away. She reached desperately for a mark, found one, but didn't check where it was when she teleported.

"This is not one of the hideouts," Shino noted calmly.

Tenten blinked woozily. "Oh, oops. That took way too much chakra to be a normal-"

Shino caught his teammate, blinking at her. "Oh, I didn't realize she was that low on chakra. I wonder where we are."

He sent his bugs out, checking for nearby shelter, and any enemies.

There was a cave a few meters to the south, so he adjusted Tenten to be held bridal style, and carried her over to it. It was just dark rock on the floor of the cave, so Shino pulled out one of his coats, lying it on the floor, then placing Tenten on top. It was really uncomfortable waking up from lying on bare rock, and though just a layer of basic cloth wasn't all that much better, it was something.

When a couple of his drones reported they'd found someone, Shino walked out into the clearing in front of the cave, ensuring that Tenten wasn't visible and waiting for his visitor.

Itachi Uchiha was the person his drones had found. He was supposed to be dead; based on the slashed line that looked pretty new, Itachi had just slaughtered the clan. Which meant he was not in his present, where Itachi was dead. Dang it.

"Uchiha-san," Shino said, inclining his head.

"Aburame-san." So Itachi has recognized his beetles as an Aburame clan insect. It wasn't difficult, although Shino did make an effort to camouflage his insects for the most part.

"Please do not be looking for a fight, I have a feeling it would not be enjoyable for either of us," Shino stated.

Itachi inclined his head, and left, as quietly as he came. Shino set an insect on him to track where he went, recalled most of his insects, leaving a few lines for warning, should anyone come through, and reentered the cave.

He used a quick and easy Doton to hide the entrance, leaving a few holes for airflow, and settled down to sleep himself. His bugs would keep watch.

He was woken a few hours later to a slight alert from his hive. Two people were approaching. He manipulated the earth blocking the entrance into having an opening for him to walk through, and walked outside.

His own father and Tsume Inuzuka greeted him a moment later.

"Hello. Who are you tracking?" Shino asked, glancing at Kuromaru. Dogs, even to civilians, was an indicator of trying to track someone. Not that he was actually trying to pretend he was a civilian.

"Itachi Uchiha. His scent leads here," His father, Shibi, replied calmly.

"He was here, in the clearing. He left soon after. He most likely tracked his scent trail back across."

"We should check the cave, you understand, right?" Tsume asked, already barreling forward.

Shino had been hoping to avoid that, but some things couldn't be stopped. He undid the Doton covering the entrance, and let the two clan heads walk inside. When they stopped dead in their tracks, Shino peered around them to see what was the matter. Oops. Tenten's headband protector was on her forehead, his had been on his leg underneath his cloak, where it wasn't visible.

"You're Konoha shinobi?" Tsume asked suspiciously.

Shino wasn't sure how to respond to that. Technically he had been, before Obito killed almost every single shinobi, but he technically wasn't right now, given this was not his time.

"Are you, or are you not?" Tsume asked impatiently.

"That… would be difficult to decide," Shino said calmly. "Why? Because I am not from this time." Might as well tell them, they were clan heads after all, and would probably end up knowing anyway.

Thorough confusion met his remark.

"Not of this time?" Kuromaru asked, raising one doggy eyebrow. Shino recognized the 'what on earth are you saying' face from Akamaru.

Shino sighed. "No. My friend would likely be able to tell you more, but she is currently suffering from chakra exhaustion."

As if on cue, Tenten grunted, groaning and lifting a hand up to cover her eyes. "Shino, you're being too loud, Obito'll hear you."

"Obito is not nearby," Shino informed his friend. "He will not find us, I assure you."

Tenten sat up, reluctantly opening her eyes. "Oh, hello." She exchanged glances with Shino. She had no idea what was going on, but that was Tsume Inuzuka and Shibi Aburame. Two people she knew were supposed to be dead. Shino had been devastated when his father died, even if he hadn't shown it very much. Kiba, on the other hand, had shown his devastation very clearly when his mother and sister had both perished soon after the war.

Shibi inclined his head, and got straight to the interrogation. "You say you're not of this time?"

Tenten frowned slightly, reaching out to check for nearby hiraishin seals. "No. It appears, that instead of grabbing one of my own hiraishin seals when we teleported away, I accidentally teleported us here. A different universe and a different time." She spoke mostly to Shino, who'd get it.

"You know Hiraishin?" Tsume asked incredulously.

Tenten nodded. "Wasn't that difficult. Well, I did have some help." Some help being Minato Namikaze helpfully pointing out what Genma and her had missed while trying to make their own Hiraishin seal. And Tobirama Senju, who also managed to assist them. And also improve it a little bit using things he'd wished he could have placed in the first time.

Tsume and Shibi exchanged glances, Tenten raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, I am fully aware of how crazy it is that I mastered Hiraishin, and that we're from a different universe and time, but I assure you, we can answer most questions."

Shino adjusted his glasses. "Shibi-sama, Torune Aburame. He was taken by Danzo about two years ago, if I am predicting the time right. He went instead of Shino Aburame, the clan heir, by his own choice."

Tsume glanced at Shibi, as did Tenten. Tenten saw the very slight furrowing of his brows, and inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. She only knew about the Torune thing herself because she had been there when Torune was reanimated and got his story afterward. Otherwise, she wouldn't have known he existed.

"You understand we have to take you in, right?" Tsume asked.

Shino nodded, glancing at Tenten, who nodded as well. "We will not fight you."

Shino called back his bugs; Shibi looked almost taken aback. Almost. He was an Aburame though, so little showed. Luckily, Tenten had experience with telling Aburame emotions.

"Your names?" Shibi asked, looking almost like he was slightly dreading their answers.

"Tenten, no last name," Tenten answered, shrugging one shoulder at the mild surprise on their faces. Even most orphans had last names, even if they were just given by matrons when the child was left there. Tenten hadn't received one, through some error in the books, or on purpose, she would never know. "My old bingo book moniker was Konoha's Silver Flash, if that means anything."

Shino hesitated, but ultimately took a deep breath and answered. "Shino Aburame."

Kuromaru flattened his sole ear against his head, sniffing Shino's coat.

Tenten inclined her head. "I acknowledge this is a stretch, and if you so wish, we can adopt other names, for simplicity's sake."

"That will not be necessary for now," Shibi said, letting out a long sigh. "We probably will have lost the trail by now, but we are also close to the border of fire. He most likely left Fire, and is headed for Rain."

"What he means to say, is we'll be takin you back now," Tsume had apparently gotten tired of waiting. "So let's get a move on."

Kuromaru woofed in amusement.

Shino picked up the coat Tenten had been lying on, folding it and placing it into one of the storage seals inside his jacket. "Lets go."

"Who are you?" The Hokage asked them, leaning forward and placing his elbows on the desk.

Tenten was internally laughing at the flimsy restraints they had made a show of placing on them. They wouldn't hold a genin, let alone two S-class nin.

Shino responded because Tenten was clearly occupied. "Shino Aburame and Tenten."

"Tenten?" The Hokage asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm an orphan, Hokage-sama, I didn't get a last name."

He sighed. "Why don't we break this premise. I know as well as you do that you could escape at any moment."

Tenten happily snapped the ropes holding her hands and folded her arms. Shino snapped his and rested his arms on the table.

"Why are you here?" The Hokage asked, sitting back.

"By accident, but I suppose while we're here, we might as well try and prevent our future," Tenten said, shrugging.

"And that would be?"

They exchanged glances. Shino tilted his head slightly. Tenten nodded minutely.

"Obito Uchiha. He's alive, and plans to revive Madara. He almost did, then something went wrong, and he went berserk, killing everyone."

The Hokage looked alarmed. "Obito Uchiha? We thought he died decades ago."

Tenten shook her head. "He didn't. He had a hand in the Kyuubi attack as well. And, more importantly, the Uchiha massacre."

(A/N) Poor Hiruzen, having to deal with that. Hi, new story, you'll have to asked Shino and Tenten if they intend on being shipped together now that they're not gonna die. There's the poll, so go check it out and vote.
