CHAPTER ONE
In an unknown location, lies a cave deep enough to store two limousine and wide enough to park one, sideways, lays a man.
Because the man is relatively deep and within the cave, one could only see his silhouette. And from the way his chest rises and falls, the man seems to be asleep.
The man's innate mechanism to awaken begins its duty. Surprisingly, the man didn't resist this despite knowing that its day off.
And like anyone who has a phone in 2020, the man's first action of the day is to find his phone. This is because it will be the deciding factor whether he'll go back to sleep or wake up.
If there are updates to the mangas and novels that his reading, then he'll read them while drinking his morning coffee. If there aren't, he'll go back to sleep.
As his hand blindly searches his elusive phone, he notices the texture of his bed. Although he knows his bed is already worn, it isn't this rough. It's like he's lying on an uneven surface.
Opening his eyes he sees that he isn't at his bed, nor at any place he is familiar with.
{Where am I?} He thought as he frantically look around for anything familiar.
In an unrelated note, despite the surrounding being dim, he could see everything in perfect clarity. He normally would have a hard time seeing anything in this kind of situation. However, he didn't notice this because he is focused on figuring out where he is.
As he sits up, he notices his hands.
{What the?!}
He notices that their different.
For starters, he has a tan skin. Now, he looking at it, he seems to have a very fair complexion. Another is, its structure. He has a bony type of body which gives him a large looking hands. This one however, looks small and delicate.
{What is happening?} He thought as he scrutinize his hand. Even the scar in his right ring finger is missing.
His gaze then fell on the sleeves of clothing.
He seems to be wearing a shiny sequin three piece slim fit tuxedo with a notch lapel and a crystal brooch that looks like the anemone flower.
Even with his untrained eyes, he knows that the clothing he is wearing is extremely expensive.
{Why am I wearing such expensive clothing that I never have? And why am I sleeping in a cave wearing them?}
As soon as he thought of those questions, epiphany struck.
{Wait a minute, waking up in an unknown place, wearing a strange clothing... did I transmigrate?}
Like any human beings who has no life, reading is his favorite pass time. And as an avid reader, he had read countless stories regarding transmigration.
Putting those knowledge in to use, he is 95% sure that he really did transmigrate. The last 5% requires him to see his face.
He quickly looks for any reflective surface but as expected for a cave, there is none. He has however an idea where he could look for.
He turns his attention to the only light source of this place, its exit.
As soon as he takes a single step, he jerks his leg back as if he stepped on a very cold floor bare foot.
{Should I go out there?}
Basing from what he had read so far, some protagonist who transmigrate immediately experience life and death scenario. And because they possess the protagonist's halo, they always survive the encounter.
He couldn't say the same for him.
With his shitty luck and its track record, he would most likely die.
{What should I do?}
It is normal for humans to treasure their life. This is why humans fear the unknown, both unidentified and unexplained would and could cause their demise.
On the other hand, he cannot hide here forever. He has needs; such as food and water, and desires: like interacting with fellow humans.
{I have to take the risk.}
Mustering all the courage that he has, he chose to move forward and face whatever it is that lies ahead.
Step
He took a single unsteady.
Then another.
This time it's more confident.
And another.
As each step he took, boosts his confidence. His gait became speedy, then into a full blown run.
Fear triggers a fight or flight reaction, whichever you choose, the brain would release adrenaline. And as adrenaline spreads throughout the body, it would bring form the feeling of excitement.
Although he is afraid, his excitement bypasses the restriction imposed by his fear.
After all, he might be living the dream he always wanted.
{Wo~ow!}
For someone who doesn't have that much encounter with the majestic beauty of nature, the sight before him is breath taking.
It turns out the cave's entrance or exit is directly in front of a gorgeous lake. The whole place is enclosed by luscious trees. The leaves were so green it made him think that those were fake.
Just looking at the sight before him, stirs the artistic side of him. Despite, having a close to none, it made want to write a poem or a song about it.
{OH MY GOD! I never thought water could look this good!}
Seeing the beautiful blue-ishness of the water, makes him think of the ads that he commonly see.
{This is it.}
Despite the captivating beauty around him, he hasn't forgotten about the possibility of him meeting his first life and death scenario.
He gulp his heart back in before slowly approaches the water.
The distance of the water is only about eight meters away from him and it should be relatively easy to sprint towards the water in less than two minutes.
However...
With the way, he approaches the water it would take him about thrice the amount of time to do so.
This is because he is afraid that his life and death encounter involves water. And with no swimming skill, he'll definitely die if that happens.
When he reached the edge of the lake, he notices that there are no fish nor other living creatures other than plants. This makes him wonder what's wrong with this clear and delicious looking water.
His attention then turns on his reflection.
Seeing his reflection on the calm surface of the lake, he couldn't help himself to touch his face in disbelief.
He is speechless at what he saw.
He couldn't believe... how handsome he is.
Standing up, he should be about six foot tall with a fairly muscular build. His eyes are a gorgeous hazel color, a blade like nose, a thin lips and a strong jaw covered by a neatly trimmed beard the same color as his short black hair.
{Holy crap, why the fuck does he look like a freaking GQ model?}
It's not that he is complaining. Rather, he is so happy that he looked this good.
As he appreciate his handsome visage, he found that his facial feature seems strangely familiar but he can't exactly tell why.
As soon as he formed that thought, a searing headache overwhelmed him. "AAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!" It's so painful, he couldn't form any cohesive thought.
Each time his head throbs, a memory flashes. Memories that aren't his. But because he is in a lot of pain, he can't process them.
As the pain ravages him, he lost track of time. He didn't even notice when it end. He simply laid there until he regained his bearing.
It's only then he began to digest the memories he saw.
The content of the memory surprised him a lot, but not as such much as its owner.
"Why am I in this body?"
