Tangled Sol

Chapter 1: New Territory

It had been a while since any of us had seen or heard from Blaze the Cat. We expected it at this time since she had reached the age where she would be inaugurated as queen of her kingdom. However, one of us would get the chance to see her sooner than anticipated.

Tangle had made her way to the mineral museum running inside to see Jewel. "Hey, Jewel. Been a while since I've seen you."

Jewel came up from behind the counter closing the display case. "Always good to see you, Tangle. How have things been with Whisper?"

"That's actually part of why I came here. I'll tell you about it while we find a place for these." She showed the beetle the two Sol Emeralds.

"Oh my. Aren't these…?" She picked up one of them in her hands. "We better get these in storage immediately."

As the two of them took the gems to storage, Tangle had relayed our story to Jewel.

"That's some story, Tangle. Any idea who that mystery person may have been?" She opened a case containing another gem inside. "Just set them in here."

"Okay. As for them, I'm not sure. They seem young though given how short they were." She placed the gems in the case seeing the other one. "What's this?" She picked it up.

Jewel looked at it. "It was a recent find. I think it's some form of Topaz."

"Kind of like the Warp Topaz?"

"Not likely. The coloration is different."

Tangle looked closer at it as it started to glow. "Umm, I think it just turned on."

"What? Put it down!"

Tangle then dropped the gem as a portal opened beneath her sending her away.

Jewel reached for her only for the portal to suddenly close. "Tangle! Oh no! Oh no!" She picked up the topaz. "How do I get her back? Better yet, where did it send her?"

The portal opened up elsewhere as Tangle tumbled out. "Ow." She stood up stretching a bit. "I need to leave handling gems to the professionals." The lemur then began to look around the area. "Wait,…where am I?"

She had ended up on what appeared to be an island. It was covered with sand and the ocean stretched for miles. The only thing different was that the sky was a more greenish color.

"No matter what, I did not bring the right clothes for the beach." Tangle got up and began walking around looking for any signs. Soon enough she heard a voice and hid in the leaves listening. "Someone else is here?"

The voice became more audible. "You have my word. I'll join you back at the kingdom in just a few hours."

"Yes, my Queen."

Tangle's ear peeled hearing the word queen. "It can't be." Shs then poked her head out of the leaves to see the fiery feline herself. "No way. Blaze? Then that means,…I'm in the Sol Dimension!"

Blaze then heard her. "Who's out there?"

She covered her mouth immediately. "Me and my loud mouth."

The feline turned looking at her. "Tangle?" She goes over helping her out of the leaves.

"Hehe. Hi, your majesty."

"You can still call me Blaze, Tangle. What are you doing here? How did you get here?"

Tangle scratches her head some. "I need a few minutes to explain this."
