"Alright Lapras send him back with a Blizzard!" yelled Ash

Lapras proceeded to charge up icy energy in its mouth and when Ash gave the signal released it perfectly.

"Now Espeon counter with Psychic Shield before it hits!"

His beloved Espeon shot up the Psychic attack and instead of spinning on its back it expanded over Espeon and created a barrier. When the Blizzard attack hit, it was thrown back with Psychic Shield.

"Okay looks like that works, Espeon cancel out the Blizzard with Psychic."

"Esp !" With one small pulse of psychic energy the incoming Blizzard was completely dissolved.

"Alright you two good job, thanks for training with me."

Both Pokemon smiled and chirped in their respective names.

"Return for now" Ash then returned both Pokemon and put the pokeballs onto his belt.

"Looks like you created another strategy Master."

Ash looked up to find Lucario standing in front of him.

"Yup, It's always good to have something up one's sleeve in case of any situation." Ash smiled and petted his Lucario, which he enjoyed.

'I have a feeling that you're going to be using the silent persona once we're in the tournament. Am I wrong?'

Ash sighed then responded, "Yeah I will do my 'Red' persona once again. But I don't think I'll put on some mask to conceal my identity like some crazy people. It will make me look like a crazy man."

'I don't know but I feel like I've been in that scenario before, I wonder where?"

Ash then shrugged and proceeded to walk back to their little camp they set up in the caves of Mt. Silver.

One week later

Ash decided that it was time for him to go back down from the mountain. He trained endlessly for a year and one month. Thinking up new strategies while training his aura alongside his Lucario. He was ready.

"Alright Lucario do you wanna walk alongside me still or would you rather stay in your ball?"

'I would prefer to be outside with you Master'

Ash sighed a little at the sound of the word 'Master.'

"Alright then Lucario and Pikachu, let's go to Viridian City and eat something, then we'll go to Pallet."

The trio were immediately teleported to the Pokemon Center at the foot of Mt Silver thanks to Espeon. They began the walk to the League HQ where the intersection between Mt Silver, Victory Road, Johto and Kanto was. The Guards were shocked to see the fabled silent trainer casually walking into the HQ. There was a few trainers that saw Ash and asked for a battle. He didn't want to waste any time so he turned down the opportunities for battle.

A few minutes later

"Okay looks like we made it to Viridian City. Let's go find something to eat guys."

'Okay then Master,' said the Aura Pokemon. Pikachu responded with a nod.

With Gary

"Alright kid, good try. Next time I suggest that you use a different strategy when coming up against a defense Pokemon." said the gym leader of Viridian City to a trainer that lost against him.

"Alright, thank you for the battle Mr. Oak" said the trainer before he walked out.

Gary began to reminisce the times he had with Ash during their encounter in Johto. He wished he was there when the betrayal happened so he could destroy each and every one of them for hurting his best friend. He was surprised to hear that his own mother was in on it but then realized what she did and became depressed to the point of self harm. He shuddered at the memory then decided to walk out of the gym for some fresh air.

"Wow this is some great weather," said the Oak.

Something caught his eye, it was a Lucario walking around with his trainer. The Lucario wasn't the thing that grabbed his attention. It was the Pikachu on the shoulder of its trainer.

"Is that Red?" said Gary to himself. He decided to approach the silent trainer.

"Hey Red its me the gym leader of Viridian City."

Ash then looked at the person who called his second name. As soon as the name was uttered Pokemon Trainers showed up out of nowhere and began to pester Ash for a battle. Ash then looked at Gary with an annoyed face.

"Oops."

Gary then ran into the crowd and grabbed Ash's arm and ran away from them as fast as they could.

"Hehe...sorry about that Red"

"Oh right you don't talk, so weird..."

"No its nothing!"

"Uh, would you like to go eat at my place? My treat for getting you into that mess."

Ash then raised a brow. He was hungry and he was aiming to go to Pallet Town. He decided to take the opportunity. He then nodded as a way of accepting Gary's offer. Gary then smiled and gestured to the direction where Pallet Town was.

"I'm from Pallet Town and I live there still. Even though there are good places here I prefer the nostalgia with my birth place."

Ash smiled a bit which caught Gary off guard.

"Well then lets go"

Both of them including Ash's Pokemon proceeded to walk to Route 1 while avoiding all trainers that wanted to battle both of them.

At Pallet Town

When Ash and Gary arrived they were both very hungry and tired from the walk. They both walked to the Oak house until Gary suddenly stopped and looked a certain direction. Ash looked at the direction where Gary was looking at and realized what he was distracted by. It was Ash's house.

"It's nothing."

"Lets go into my place now."

The duo walked to the Oak residence then walked in.

"Hey sis I'm back and I got a guest with me."

"Alright Gary, I was finishing up dinner for us and Grandpa, there should be enough for our gu-"

Daisy then stopped when she saw Ash. Ash then nervously waved before he was pulled into a crushing hug that could possibly rival the one of his own mother.

"Sis?! Why'd you just hug Red out of nowhere?"

Daisy then realized she possibly blew Ash's cover but then became annoyed at the fact that Ash still didn't tell him it was him.

"Why didn't you tell Gary yet?" questioned Daisy

Ash shrugged then gestured he needed air

"Oh sorry!" Daisy said, sheepishly rubbing her arm in embarrassment.

Ash then cleared his throat and said, "It's okay Daisy I missed you too."

Both Oaks were taken aback from hearing the presumed silent boy speak again.

"R-red, y-you can actually t-talk?!"

Ash then rolled his eyes and replied, "Of course I can Gary I'm not mute."

Daisy hugged Ash again, much to his dismay and squealed "I can't believe you talked again Ash!"

Gary then raised his eyebrow and asked, "Ash? Daisy that's Red you know that right?"

"No Gary, I can't believe he hasn't told you yet," she then bumped Ash's head which got an "Hey!" out of the silent trainer. "This is Ash he just changed a lot. She then let Ash go and went to call the Professor.

Ash then dusted himself off and began to say, "Yeah Garebear its me."

Gary began to tear up and punched Ash hard in the arm, which didn't hurt, and said, "You fucker I can't believe you disappeared like that. You could've told me, I thought we were friends."

Ash then smiled and hugged Gary which he gladly returned. "I'm sorry Gary too much was happening and I just had to leave."

"I understand Ashy boy, but I can't believe you came back and decided to completely kick my ass in battle and not tell me who you are."

"Sorry Garebear, I didn't want to reveal myself so early you know?"

"Its okay but damn you changed, no z marks nothing. You're a whole new man, I bet even Cynthia would go head over heels for you." said Gary teasingly. He knew Ash liked the blonde champion from Sinnoh.

"Damn it Garebear I knew you were gonna say something stupid." They both laughed and sat down in the living room.

Professor Oak then came inside and was shocked to see Ash back in his house. He dropped all of his stuff and ran to give him a firm man hug.

"Ash my boy, I am so SO happy to see you again in person."

"It's good to see you too Samuel, it's been too long."

Gary then realizing what his Grandpa said began to shout enraged, "YOU WERE TALKING TO HIM BEHIND MY BACK AND DIDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING?!"

The professor realized that he never told his grandson then scratched the back of his head and laughed, "Sorry Gary, Ash didn't want to tell people he was still around."

Gary then sighed and nodded in understanding. Daisy then called all of them to the dining room so that they could all eat.

Author's Notes

Well I hope you guys enjoyed the little reunion between the Oaks and Ash. Sorry for it being a bit awkward but I didn't know how to word everything. Next chapter will be a another reunion but with a interesting twist. You will see.

Story stuff aside I'd like to address the current situation the United States of America is having. If you aren't from there, you don't need to read this, but if you want to its okay. Anyways my personal thoughts on the events involving the death of George Floyd are that we should never, ever treat people in that way. There is a completely justified reason why black people hate police and its cause of the officers who do horrendous things like this. The riots are completely unnecessary and the looting is just stupid. What's worse is that small businesses are also being attacked for no reason. Ahhh i don't wanna keep writing about this cause I'll get all worked up. But please. Be safe if you are joining the peaceful protests. Keep in mind that all of us are in this together.
