A/N Here is the last chapter (I'm sobbing). Please read the long note at the end!

Chapter Fourteen (Epilogue):

*8 years later*

Penelope was more emotional than she had expected to be. She had told herself she would keep it together, but she was failing miserably. Ellie was graduating high school today. She would be going to Penn State in the fall to study Criminal Justice. She had an athletic scholarship after being recruited by their Women's Soccer coach. Penelope and Derek were so proud of, but Penelope was going to miss her so much. The school was only about four hours away, but not seeing her daughter everyday was going to be so hard.

"Mommy!" Her youngest's voice called. "Daddy said we hafta go!"

Brynn Emily Morgan was a little spit fire at just 4 years old. She loved to be the center of attention, and she was smart beyond her years. After they had found out they were having twin boys 8 years ago, Penelope and Derek thought that would complete their family. Christopher Hank Morgan and Gideon Spencer Morgan came as a bit of a shock.

While they had discussed wanting to have more children, they had thought it would be at least another year. And then, to find out they were having identical twins, they were in complete surprise. But, they loved their boys so much. They were troublemakers sometimes, but very sweet. They loved their older sister, and she loved them just as much. Penelope would never forget the day, however, that she told Derek she was expecting Brynn.

She had felt odd for the past few weeks, but decided it was probably just some bug. She had guessed the twins had probably brought something home from daycare. But when the twins showed no symptoms, and Ellie and Derek were fine, she began to wonder if it was something else. She and Derek hadn't really discussed more children. The twins kept them plenty busy as it was. And Ellie was so wonderful, it wasn't like they felt they were missing anything. Still, the idea that she could be pregnant again made Penelope hopeful.

She didn't want Derek to get his hopes up for nothing, so she scheduled an appointment with her doctor, not trusting the home pregnancy tests enough. He was on a case, and wouldn't be back until the next day, so she was able to get in without having to tell him where she was going.

The doctor confirmed that she was in fact pregnant. She was around 12 weeks along, and the doctor warned her that since she was older, it was more high risk. She was a little nervous, but also excited. She already loved the little baby growing inside her, and she couldn't wait to tell Derek.

She was started on some prenatal care, and was given an ultrasound. She asked for an extra one, knowing Derek would want to carry around his own copy. She stared at the little image of her unborn child, and felt so lucky to have the chance to have another Morgan baby.

When Derek got home the next night, the boys were having a playdate with JJ's youngest who was a little younger than them. Ellie was out with some friends, which left the perfect opportunity for Penelope to talk to Derek. She had placed the ultrasound picture and a little oonsie that said Oops We Did It Again with a little pacifier on the front, in a gift bag for him to open.

"Oh, what's this baby?" He asked in excitement. "It's not our anniversary, or my birthday, or anything else I can think of."

"It's a surprise, hot stuff." Penelope smiled at her husband. "Why don't you open it and see."

Derek smirked over at her. He carefully removed the tissue paper from the bag. He picked up the framed ultrasound first. Derek looked at his wife in confusion before he reached back in the bag. He pulled out the oonsie and read it outloud. He gasped.

"Really?" He asked. Tears already pooling in his eyes.

"I found out yesterday." She told him, also getting emotional. "I was suspicious, and wanted to confirm it before I said anything. I know we didn't plan this, but I-"

"Baby girl, this is the best surprise you ever could have given me." Derek interrupted, seeing the nervousness set in on her face. He pulled her to him and kissed her. "I am so happy."

"Me too." Penelope gushed. "It's more high risk with my age, but I just need to be careful."

"You won't lift a finger, my dear." Derek insisted.

"I already love her so much." Penelope said, thinking of getting to hold their newest addition in a few months.

"Her?" Derek asked.

"Just a feeling." Penelope responded. "We'll see."

"Either way, I can't wait to meet them." Derek told his wife, kissing her again. "I love you so much, baby girl."

"I love you too, my chocolate thunder."

"Mommy!" Brynn called again, pulling Penelope from her thoughts.

Penelope exited the bathroom, and scooped her toddler up into her arms. Brynn giggled gleefully as Penelope peppered kisses all over her face. Brynn, like her big sister, was a momma's girl. Ellie was still as close to Penelope as she was when she was ten, and the three of them were thick as thieves. Ellie had been so excited to have a baby sister, and she absolutely adored Brynn. Ellie had been a Freshman in highschool when Brynn was born, and she loved showing her off to all of her friends.

"Baby girls, are you ready to go?" Derek asked when his wife and daughter came down stairs. "Karen saved us seats, but we better get going before the boys manage to dirty their clothes."

Penelope laughed knowing her husband was very right. Chris and Gideon somehow always managed to find a mud puddle or something sticky to sit in just before they had to be somewhere. It kept their life interesting, and neither Derek or Penelope would change it for the world.

"Alright Trouble Twins, we gotta move." Penelope told her boys, who were the spitting image of their dad. "Grandma Fran and Auntie Karen are already at the school.

Over the years, the Morgans had gotten very close with the Montgomery family. Karen and her husband had become very good friends of theirs. Ellie got to see her biological mother about once a month, and the families enjoyed spending time together.

Karen and Bob had Ian who was a bit older than the twins, and they had another son in between the twins and Brynn. The kids loved going to the lake together, or having slumber parties. It was a nice dynamic, and none of them could have wished for a better outcome to the whole situation.

They finally got to the school, and found their family. Brynn ran over to her grandma and climbed up into her lap. The boys sat with the other kids, and excitedly talked about their upcoming trip to Disney world that the two families were taking together. The rest of the BAU team was also there waiting to watch Ellie walk across the stage.

"How are you holding up today?" Karen asked Penelope.

"I'm emotional." Penelope admitted. Derek squeezed her hand. "Our baby is grown up."

"I can't believe Ellie is graduating!" Rachel commented from beside Karen. "It doesn't seem possible."

Rachel was also going to Penn State, and Penelope knew that was another reason Ellie wanted to go. She and her step siblings now had a tight knit relationship. Rachel would look out for Ellie at college, and Penelope was glad for that. Tyler and Rachel were protective over their sister. Despite their rocky beginning, the three were inseparable now. Over time, they realized how much they had in common and decided to bury the hatchet.

"Matt would be so proud of her." Karen commented. They all nodded in agreement.

They all knew how hard it was that Matt had to miss this milestone, just like all the others. Ellie still missed her dad everyday, but she believed her was always with her. It had taken nearly a year after she moved in with them fully for Ellie to call Derek dad. She had come to terms with the fact that her dad would have wanted her to be happy, and that Derek would never replace him, but she had two dads now. The day she called him dad for the first time was a day Derek would never forget. It had made him so happy, and he was so honored to know that she saw him that way. He had promised Matt Spicer to look out for Ellie and to keep her safe, and he kept that promise.

"Oh look, here come the grads!" JJ pointed out as Pomp and Circumstance began to play.

"I see Ellie!" Brynn exclaimed.

Sure enough, there she was, dressed in her cap and gown. She was the valedictorian, so she was wearing special stools with her gown. She was easy to spot out in the crowd. She saw her family, and gave them a quick wave before taking her seat with the rest of the seniors.

After the opening remarks, they called Ellie up to give her speech. She had been prepping it for weeks, but she hadn't let Penelope and Derek hear it yet. She told them she wanted it to be a surprise.

"Hello my fellow graduates and everyone who is here to support us." Ellie began smiling out at a gymnasium full of people. "Today we close one chapter of our lives, and tomorrow we begin a new one. Unlike many of you, I did not start my school career here in Quantico. For the first nine years of my life I was raised in Los Angeles. But, some events happened that I don't need to discuss now, that brought me here. To my home. I want to talk a little bit about family today, because it can be so many different things. For one, all of us, class of 2019, are a family in our own way. My soccer team is my family. My parents' coworkers at the FBI are my aunt and uncles. My biological mom and her husband are part of my family. But, I wouldn't have any of that without the two people who got me here: Derek and Penelope Morgan. Nine years ago, I was a scared little kid who felt like she had no one, and no place to call home, but then these heroes from Qauntico rescued me, took me in, and gave me a family. Because of them I got to be captain of the soccer team, I got to make honors every year, and become valedictorian, they pushed me to chase my dreams, and now because of that I'll be attending Penn State in the Fall. I have never had to want for anything since they came into my life. They have showered me with love, support, entertainment, and happiness. I love them more than they can possibly know. I think today, as much as it's our day, it's our parents' day too. Because of them, we are here walking across the stage as high school graduates. So, join me in giving a round of applause for our amazing families."

Penelope was crying by the time her daughter finished talking. She couldn't have even imagined what Ellie would say. She was beyond proud of that girl. She could hardly believe the sweet ten year old she used to read bedtime stories to was all grown up. The last nine years of being Ellie's mom had flown by, and there was nothing in the whole world Penelope would trade them for.

As the audience finished clapping, Derek leaned over and kissed the side of his wife's head. They had been so lucky to be blessed with such a wonderful daughter. She was a wonderful kid with such a bright future ahead of her, and they knew she would accomplish so many amazing things in her life.

They announced that they would now be calling the names of all of the graduates to walk across the stage and accept their diplomas. The group waited to hear Ellie's name. She had officially become Ellie Morgan eight years ago, so her name would be somewhere in the middle of the kids. Finally they heard it.

"Ellie Jane Morgan."

The BAU, Derek and Morgan, Fran, Karen and Bob, and all of Ellie's siblings, stood cheering for her. They could see her blush, even from across the gym. They couldn't help it though, they were all so proud.

Later that night, after all the guests had cleared out of the Morgan home and the little ones were sleeping, Ellie sat on the sofa with her parents. She was thinking about how many nights they'd sit here and watch movies or play boardgames. She had been very lucky to have such kind and loving parents adopt her.

As excited as Ellie was to start college, a part of her was also a little sad. She was really going to miss her mom and dad, and her siblings. She wouldn't be here for Sunday family time, she would miss Brynn's first day of Kindergarten, she wouldn't get to go to all of Chris and Gideon's T-ball games. The thing she would probably miss the most, though, was having her mom around all the time. She knew Penelope was always just a phone call away, but the two were so close, the four hours between them felt like forever.

"Well, Ellie Bean, how does it feel to be all graduated?" Penelope asked.

Ellie was seated on Penelope's left side, her head resting on her mom's shoulder as Penelope sipped her nightly tea. Derek was on the other side of the tech analyst. Both of them cuddling up to Penelope.

"Weird." Ellie said with a little laugh. "It still doesn't feel real. I can't believe I am done with high school."

"Me either." Derek commented. He smiled. "To me you'll always be that sweet little 9 year old who begged me to make her pancakes and kicked my ass at monopoly, but only because she cheated."

"I did not!" Ellie exclaimed, reaching over Penelope to give her father a playful shove. "You're just a sore loser! Right, mom?"

"Sorry, peanut butter cup, there's a reason we never let you be the banker." Penelope smirked at her daughter. Ellie let out a little huff. "But it's okay, we still love you times a million."

Ellie smiled as her mom leaned over and kissed her cheek. Ellie felt like she appreciated her parents more than most kids her age. After losing her dad, going through a bad foster home, getting put with Penelope, getting taken away from Penelope, and then finally being adopted by Derek and Penelope, she didn't take things for granted. While most kids in her class were out getting drunk tonight, she preferred to be exactly where she was.

"Mom?" Ellie said suddenly. "I don't want our story to be over."

Ellie felt hot tears fill her eyes. She was eighteen now, and while she knew her mom and dad, of course, still loved her, she didn't want to just be done being their kid. She still wanted to come home and have her mom fix her hot chocolate after she had a nightmare, and she still wanted to have her dad interrogate any boy she brought home.

"Baby, what do you mean?" Penelope asked. She set her mug of tea down and brough Ellie into her arms.

"I-I'm all grown up now, and I know t-the twins and B-Brynn are still little, b-but I don't want to not be you-your little girl anymore just because I'm an a-adult." Ellie cried against her mother. Penelope let out a small chuckle, wondering how Ellie could possibly think that.

"Ellie Belly, you will always be our little girl." Penelope insisted, giving Ellie a reassuring squeeze. "I don't care if you're 9 or 39, you will always be our daughter and we will always be your parents. And, don't think just because your all grown up and going to college doesn't mean you get away with not calling home at least once a week. I'm still a hacker, and I will still track you down."

Ellie giggled knowing her mother was only half joking. One time, Ellie forgot to tell her parents she was going to be home late after school, and her mom tracked her. When Penelope discovered Ellie was just tutoring some kids and hadn't been kidnapped, she sobbed with relief. She later blamed the pregnancy hormones since it happened when she was carrying Brynn, but Ellie suspected it was just Penelope being a mom.

"And don't think this doesn't mean I won't know the name of every boy who even looks your way." Derek said. Penelope and Ellie rolled their eyes. "I might be older, but I can still tackle some scrawny college kid."

"Whatever you say, dad." Ellie replied with a smile.

Truthfully, she felt safer in life knowing her parents worked for the BAU. They had literally saved her from a monster once, and she knew if someone ever messed with her, her parents would have half the FBI on the case. She was always protected, and she loved that her parents cared so much about her. That short time in the first foster home had shown Ellie how bad other kids had it. She had adoptive parents who loved her, and a biological mom who she got to have a wonderful relationship with.

"We are going to miss you so much while you're away, El, but we know that this is going to be such an amazing opportunity for you." Penelope said. "You are going to have so many memories from your college days. And, you can come home to visit whenever you want. Your siblings will love it when you come to see us. And, your room will be waiting here for you."

"Yeah, don't let dad turn it into a man cave." Ellie teased. Derek mocked offense.

"I'd never!" He stated.

Penelope and Ellie chuckled. Derek had teased Ellie for months that once she was away at college he'd put a pool table and large TV in her bedroom. Of course, he was joking. In all honesty, he was sad to think of his little girl moving four hours away. He wanted her to always know where home was, and would never even consider taking over her room. It was just his way to cope with her growing up and going to college.

"Do you think he'd be proud of me?" Ellie asked. Derek and Penelope knew she was talking about Matt.

"Oh, Ellie, of course he would be." Derek assured her. "I think he'd be honored that you are following in his footsteps."

"Not just his." Ellie said. "I'm following the footsteps of both of my dads."

Derek willed himself not to start crying. He knew Ellie saw him as her dad, but he always wondered if deep down, she just saw him as a replacement for Matt. Hearing her say those words though were music to his ears. He reached over his wife and squeezed Ellie's hand, letting her know how much that meant to him.

"I think Brynn will take after mom." Ellie predicted. "She loves computers and phones. And, no offense momma, but Brynn marches to the beat of her own drum. She's quirky. Like when she would only talk with her Super Grover puppet for two straight weeks."

Penelope laughed at the memory. She had to agree, Brynn did take after her. The boys, they looked like their dad, but they had their own personalities. Chris, so far, wanted to be an astronaut. Gideon wanted to be a doctor, but not the hospital kind, he wanted to be like Uncle Spencer. That always made them chuckle. They had four children who were all unique and special. Derek and Penelope loved their family, and couldn't imagine having anything better.

"Do you remember, Ellie, when you moved back home, and I promised you that dad and I would always be here for you?" Penelope asked, bringing them back to their previous conversation. Ellie nodded. "Well, Ellie Bean I meant that for life, not just until you turned 18. Our story isn't over, sweetpea."

"Good." Ellie smiled. "Because I really love you guys."

"We love you too, kiddo." Derek told her.

"I'd say, the story of us has a long way to go." Penelope grinned.
