Hi, guys. Yeah, I know. I published a story before with the same title. I decided to delete the old one and create a new one with the same concept. It's been a long time since I opened this website, with college, and everything else. But yeah, thanks to quarantine I re-opened my love for fanfiction, particularly GrayLu, although idk if anybody ships them anymore (?) So, without further ado, I present to you...

Doctor Blood Sucker

I - Return

"Gray, they need you in room 305. You have a patient waiting for you."

Dr. Gray Fullbuster, a 28-year-old pediatrician, looked up at a blue-haired nurse, having been distracted from reading today's paper.

"Now? I don't have any patients scheduled at this hour, Juvia. Besides, it's lunch."

Juvia Lockser is a 27-year-old OR nurse at Fiore General Hospital with short, spiky blue hair and midnight blue eyes. She took a seat next to the surprised doctor and took a bite of his uneaten bagel.

"It's not one of your patients. Actually, it's Jellal's. But since he's on leave, you're the next best option."

She took Gray's salad bowl and took out the chopsticks she brought with her.

"And we all know you hardly eat anything at lunch. You just pick on your food and read the paper."

She passed him the white, paper folder that she carried upon entering the hospital cafeteria.

"Here, you might wanna read his health history first."

Annoyed with the fact that she stole his salad, Gray scoffed. He took the folder and opened it, adjusting his glasses while doing so.

"Hypothermia...vomiting..." Gray skimmed the pages of the patient's file. "Meredy could've at least put a picture in his file."

Juvia shrugged. "She was in a hurry when she gave it to me. Being Jellal's assistant, she's probably got a lot on her plate."

Gray sighed and removed his glasses. He stood up and grabbed the white coat hanging from his chair.

"Well, I better get going...and you owe me lunch, Juvia." He glared at her playfully as he turned and walk towards the cafeteria's exit door.

Juvia smiled despite having a full mouth. "See you, Gray!"

The elevator doors opened as it came to a halt on the 3rd floor at the eastern wing of the hospital. Gray walked out and proceeded to walk towards the room, greeting the hospital staff as he passed by. As he turned to the corner of the hallway leading to his destination, he saw a petite, blue-haired woman exiting the room he was walking towards.

"Hey, Levy. I didn't expect to see you here."

Dr. Levy McGarden, a successful and world-known obstetrician/gynecologist and medical researcher, smiled at her close friend and colleague.

"Hi there, Gray."

"What are you doing here on the pediatrics floor? Did something happen?"

Levy shook her head and shyly raised her hands in front of her. "No, not at all! I came here to visit a friend. Her son was just admitted this morning and I came by to check on her, but I guess they got transferred to another room."

"Ah, guess your friend's son is my patient for today." He grabbed the folder and read aloud the patient's name.

"Grayson Ashley?"

At the mention of the patient, Levy looked surprised.

"Yeah, that's him. I thought Jellal was his doctor."

Gray shook his head. " No, he went on leave this morning so I had to take this one."

Levy looked uncomfortable as she processed what he was saying.

She was about to say something when she was cut off by the pager.

Dr. Levy McGarden, you are needed on the OB floor. I repeat, Dr. Levy McGarden, you are needed on the OB floor.

"Well, there goes your cue. See you later, Levy!"

"Yeah, see you, Gray..." Before he walked away, she muttered something under her breath, unbeknownst to Gray. "...and good luck"

The nearer he got to the door, the weirder Gray felt. He felt himself grow paler than he already was, he was having goosebumps and he felt like he was gonna be sick. What is wrong with me today... As he grabbed the door handle and pushed open the door, he was greeted by the most intoxicating scent. He was so overwhelmed with a sense of euphoria, he had to grip the cabinet near the door to keep him from going mad. He was seeing stars. He suddenly knew why. Why Levy seemed so uncomfortable and why his animalistic instincts had started to take over his body again. He took a deep breath and inhaled the scent, the scent that was so familiar to him. The scent that brought back so many memories, so many feelings from a long time ago.

Gray woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside the window. The sunlight had filled the huge victorian bedroom, coloring the interior in warm yellow. Gray looked around his surroundings. To his right was a bedroom alcove that let the sunlight in, to his right was a vanity cabinet and a door that lead to a closet. In front of him was an opening that lead to the bedroom foyer. And beside him, almost hidden from the large, soft pillows and the thick comforter was a blonde beauty. She hugged a hotdog pillow as she slept on her stomach, with her backside bare. Gray removed the comforter and ran his cool hand along her back.

"Mmmm..." The blonde slowly opened her eyes and found dark blue orbs staring at her brown ones. At the sight of her lover's face, she immediately smiled and greeted him.

"Good morning, my love."

"Good morning, Lucy." He placed a kiss to her forehead and proceeded to kiss her still swollen lips from their activities the night before. Lucy moaned as their kiss got more and more intense. Gray had grabbed the pillow she was hugging and threw it on the floor. She let out a playful laugh as Gray turned her around so he was hovering over her.

"I could get used to this," Lucy said as Gray wrapped his arms tightly around her middle, nuzzling his head into her neck and tickling her with his spiky hair. Lucy laughed.

"Soon, darling." Gray stopped what he was doing and stared into her brown, mesmerizing orbs.

"Soon, you'll get out of this place, leave your abusive father and live with me." He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

The blonde heiress looked at him with so much love and longing. She cupped his right cheek and brought his face closer to hers, giving him a chaste kiss on the lips.

"I love you, Gray."

I love you, Gray.

Gray opened his eyes and stood straight. His feelings of nostalgia were suddenly replaced with feelings of anger and bitter resentment. He exited the room and went straight to the nurse's station on the floor.

"Miriam!" he said loudly as he approached the station.

A stout, middle-aged woman looked up from the computer, clearly startled.

"Yes, Doc? What's the problem?"

"Get me the room number of Lucy Ashley Heartfilia."

"Take it easy, sweetheart," a blonde-haired beauty told her 5-year-old son, who was walking fast and exploring the hospital floor, pushing his IV stand with him.

"But mommy, I'm feeling a little bit better now," her dark-haired son looked up at her with hopeful eyes and a wide smile.

Lucy Heartfilia, a beautiful 27-year-old mother with waist-length blonde hair, looked at her boy with a soft expression on her face. She knelt down in front of him so they were eye-to-eye. She placed her hand on his cheek.

"Grayson, what did I tell you about-" she was cut off by her son.

"Taking things slow...I know, mommy," he replied.

"Are you gonna carry me again?"

Grayson looked up shyly at his mother in a disappointed tone. Lucy, taking pity on her adorable son, shook her head.

"Okay, tell you what. If you promise to behave, and walk together with me and not ahead of me, I won't carry you back to the room...Oh, and I have to be the one to push your IV stand, alright?" The boy's eyes lit up.

"Alright! Thank you, mommy!"

Grayson hugged her and took her hand in his as they walked hand-to-hand back to their room.

As they passed the hallway, a nurse called Lucy's attention.

"Miss Lucy!"

Lucy turned around and saw a white-haired nurse carrying a medicine tray, approach her and Grayson.

"Hello! Are you Miss Lucille Anne Ashley?"

"Yes, that's me."

"Good afternoon, miss. I'm Mira Jane Strauss. I'm your nurse for this afternoon. I'm sorry for the rush, I was just at the nurse's station, getting ready to see your son for his meds when one of the nurses recognized you." The nurse bowed to Lucy.

Lucy shyly excused her. "Oh, no need to be so formal. You can call me Lucy. So shall we head to the room?"

"Actually, they'd like you to go to the nurses' station down the hall, Lucy. You need to sign a few papers. If you don't mind, I could take your son and go ahead with his meds, so he can take them on time." Mira Jane smiled at Lucy.

"That would be fine. Thank you so much." Lucy smiled back at Mira Jane and knelt in front of Grayson.

"Baby, this is Mira Jane. She's gonna take care of you." Lucy introduced them.

Mira smiled at Grayson, who shyly hid behind his mother.

"Hello there, Grayson! I'm Mira!" Mira knelt in front of the mother and son.

"Hi Mira," Grayson said shyly.

"Is it okay, if I'll be the one to walk you to your room? Your mommy needs to go to the nurses' station for a little while." Mira extended her hand.

Grayson nodded and took Mira's hand.

That's my brave boy...Lucy thought.

Lucy kissed the back of Grayson's head. "I'll be back soon, okay? Be a good boy."

"Okay, mommy."

With that, Lucy left her son in the care of Mira Jane and walked towards the station. But she couldn't shake off the uncomfortable feeling that she had as she let go of her son's hand.

Gray was sitting on the chair beside the bed. His right leg bouncing up and down, radiating nervous energy. After consulting with Miriam, he found out that he was in the right room. And that the mother and son had gone out because the patient felt the need to explore and urinate in the public bathroom because he felt so cooped up inside the room. Upon hearing this, Gray immediately went back and waited for them.

What's taking them so long.

Gray began to grow irritated and stood up. He paced back and forth inside the small room as his thoughts went back to Lucy.

A kid...Vampires don't get pregnant. She must've adopted.

He couldn't place it, but something was off. He blamed it on his limited ability use. It must've impaired his gifts. Although he was a vampire prodigy at the time he was turned, a few years back he opted to stop using his abilities to make him feel more human. More vulnerable than closed off. More alive than dead.

Gray was pulled out of his thoughts when he sensed her presence. A faint presence, and something else too. He just couldn't make out what.

The door opened to reveal Mira Jane, instead. And holding her hand, a small boy no less than 5 years old. With a fair complexion, dark, spiky hair and dark blue eyes, smiling up at her. That presence, he realized, it wasn't just Lucy. It was the boy, as well. The boy who was now smiling shyly up at him. And for the first time since Lucy, Gray felt his body go warm and if he was still alive, he swore his heart just skipped a beat.

Well, there you have it, folks. Let me know what you think!
