Hey guys, long time no see! Okay so I stopped writing because I had a full time job and a girlfriend so I was too busy but since I've got so much time on my hands I thought why not? I probably wont update any of the old stories because I cant remember shit about them haha
Anywhere idk how this will go but its actually based on my own experience of falling for my ex's best friend so while my life is just a real life fanfic I hope you like the idea
Have you ever received a text that just made your entire world collapse around you? This unbearable weight pushes down on your chest yet not a single tear is welling in your eyes because it was so unexpected and sudden.
That's how Chloe felt right now, like the entire world was sitting on her chest yet all she could do was lie in the middle of her bed and stare up at the ceiling.
You know what's worse than getting dumped? Getting dumped over text…
Chloe just couldn't believe it, 7 months with her girlfriend down the drain just like that, all over with a single text. She picked up her phone and read it over again because it still didn't seem real.
[My Girl]
Baby...This has been so hard to find the right words and yes I'm a coward for not being able to say it to your face and I know how shitty that is. You know I've been going into self destruct again lately and I really don't want to drag you down with that, I just need to get my shit together but I'm so sorry I hope we can still be friends...
[Received at 19:34]
A sudden knock at her bedroom door brought Chloe back into reality, making her jump.
"Come in." Her voice was weak after she swallowed the lump in her throat.
"Hey Chlo, I've had a really long day at work and I'm starving, should we just order food?" Chloe's roommate Aubrey swung the door open, the volume in her voice making the redhead wince.
"I'm not hungry." Chloe replied quickly, her voice barely above a whisper.
The blonde furrowed her brow and stepped into the room, closing the door behind her. "Are you okay?" She asked softly, walking over to her best friend's bed.
The redhead just shook her head, continuing to stare at the ceiling.
Aubrey climbed into the bed beside Chloe and pushed the redhead's hair out of her face. "Do you wanna talk about it?" The blonde's voice was gentle as she spoke, already having a vague idea what this could be about.
The two women have shared an apartment for a little just over a year now but have been best friends for as long as they can remember, they knew each other better than anyone.
Lately Chloe's relationship was a little rocky and Aubrey was the one to help clean up the mess. She was the one who was there whenever Chloe would be up all night worrying when her girlfriend was out and not answering her, she was the one that was there whenever Chloe would come home crying after a fight. Aubrey was Chloe's rock.
"She broke up with me." The redhead whispered, still no emotion showing on her face.
Aubrey furrowed her brow and propped herself up on her elbow, her mouth open and closed a few times, unsure of what to say. She didn't expect that. Sure, the two girls had their ups and downs like any couple but the blonde was convinced they were going to last, you could tell how in love with each other they were. She had never seen her best friend that happy in a relationship before.
The blonde sighed heavily and opened her arms. "C'mere." She motioned with her head for the redhead to move closer to her.
Chloe shuffled along the bed and allowed her best friend to wrap her arms around her, she closed her eyes as she rested her head on the blonde but still, she just felt...nothing.
"Dude, Stacie broke up with her girl." Beca closed the refrigerator door with her elbow as she walked over to the couch, holding two bottles of beer in one hand and her phone in the other.
"You should be the one breaking up with your mrs, not her." Her roommate Jesse scoffed as he took the bottles from the woman's hand to open them.
Beca just faked a smile and threw up her middle finger, taking a seat beside the man and snatching her beer back off of him.
"Chloe was cool though, why did she dump her?" Jesse asked, taking a sip of his beer as he turned his head back to the TV.
"Dude we only met her twice." Beca scoffed and she typed a reply to Stacie on her phone.
"First time I met Paige I thought she was a psycho and guess what? 2 and a half years later the chick is still a psycho!" The man quipped back in reference to Beca's girlfriend who he clearly wasn't the biggest fan of.
Jesse was pretty sure no couple fights as much as Beca and Paige do, he was convinced the blonde was a manipulative cunt but whenever it came down to it Beca would take her side along with the blame.
"Shut up dude." The woman sighed with an eye roll, picking up her phone as it started ringing.
"Speak of the devil." Jesse chuckled as he caught sight of the name on his friend's phone.
"Hey babe." Beca narrowed her eyes and gave Jesse a kick to his thigh as she answered the phone to her girlfriend. "Just having a drink with Jesse."
Jesse picked up his phone and checked his Snapchat.
"No, I'm home." Beca threw her head back, closing her eyes. "Why do you never believe me?" She sighed in frustration and Jesse's eyes flickered up from his phone. "You're the one giving me attitude, what the fuck?" She sat back up, almost laughing down the phone.
Jesse shook his head and furrowed his brow in concern. See what he meant now? Beca would do anything for that girl and Jesse knows it wouldn't be the same the other way around.
Love can be a dangerous game and it always seems like the best people don't get what they deserve.
"Right. Bye." Beca grumbled and hung up the phone, throwing her head back with a loud groan.
"Beca." Jesse placed his hand on the woman's legs that she had draped over his lap.
"What?" She mumbled, still looking up at the ceiling.
"Bite the bullet, bro." He said seriously. "She treats you like shit."
"Doesn't matter. I'm not gonna be the one that hurts her." Beca swung her legs back over the side of the couch and stood up, placing her bottle on the table.
"She's the one hurting you though!" Jesse exclaimed as he sat up.
The amount of times he had this conversion with his best friend was unreal.
"Do you wanna go out? Stacie's at a bar down the street." Beca just ignored his outburst, her eyes fixated on her phone.
"Sure." The man sighed, standing up with a stretch.
"Isn't this where Chloe works?" Jesse asked in confusion as he followed Beca into the bar. It wasn't that busy but it was a monday night after all.
"Yeah it is actually, Stace plays a dangerous game." Beca chuckled in return. "Do you wanna get us a beer and I'll go sit with trouble?" She pulled some cash out of her back pocket and pointed over to Stacie who was sitting at a table by herself, scrolling through her phone.
"Sure." Jesse took the money out of her hand as Beca made her way over to Stacie, taking off her leather jacket in the process.
"Why here?" Beca asked in amusement as she gave her friend a playful slap on the side of the head, taking a seat beside the taller brunette.
"She was working in the afternoon." Stacie mumbled and took a sip of her drink.
"You good?" The shorter woman asked in concern.
"I hurt her."
"Yeah but if you're not happy then you're not happy." Beca reasoned with a shrug, taking hold of the bottle of beer Jesse had just placed in front of her.
"Hey Stace." Jesse greeted.
"Hey." The woman sighed in return. "Can we not talk about girlfriends?" She pleaded.
"Fucking cheers to that." Beca scoffed, holding her bottle up.
2 drinks down and the topic of significant others wasn't brought up once, much to the girls' appreciation.
"I'm going for a smoke." Beca announced, picking up her jacket, shrugging it on as she made her way outside. "Fuck off." She mumbled to herself checking her phone as it once again vibrated with a text from her girlfriend who had been texting her for the past hour.
The brunette leant against the wall of the bar as she lit her cigarette. She closed her eyes as she exhaled, trying to calm herself down in the process, she loved her girlfriend but fuck she drove her crazy.
"Beca?"
Beca furrowed her brow at the unfamiliar voice and opened her eyes, standing up properly from the wall once she realised who it was.
"Chloe?" She asked in surprise.
The pair didn't know each other very well, Stacie didn't really talk to Chloe much about Beca and Beca wasn't really that interested in hearing all the mush details of Stacie's relationship. They had met on 2 occasions both were involving alcohol so neither girls could remember much.
"Hey." The redhead said awkwardly as she glanced around. "Are you with-"
"Yeah." Beca cut her off with a cringe.
"Fuck." Chloe muttered under her breath. "I accidentally took the keys home with me after my shift so I came to drop them off." She explained.
Beca glanced at the keys she was dangling from her finger.
"I can take them in if you like?" The shorter woman offered, pointing at the door with her thumb.
"You would?"
"Yeah sure, just hold this for two seconds." Beca stumbled a little towards her making Chloe giggle. Looks like those beers were catching up on her. She held her cigarette out to Chloe and swapped it for the keys. "Smoke it if you like." The brunette shrugged as she walked backwards to the door.
"I don't smoke." Chloe shook her head with a small laugh as she just stared at the still lit cigarette between her fingers once Beca disappeared inside.
"Done." Beca reappeared as soon as she left, taking her cigarette back off of the redhead with a wink.
"Thanks for that." Chloe smiled. "I better get going, enjoy your night."
Beca could tell Chloe was hurting. She hid it well but as someone who does the same thing, Beca can see straight through it.
"Hey I'm sorry about like everything…" The brunette trailed off, glancing at the ground as she flicked the ash off of her cigarette. "She told me it was over text that was shitty." She glanced up at the redhead who was looking off to the side, her eyes glazed over.
"Not your fault." The redhead shrugged.
"I suppose, well uh you have a good night too if you can." Beca replied awkwardly, internally kicking herself.
"See you later." Chloe waved her off and walked away.
Beca watched her walk off, yeah she didn't know Chloe that well but even seeing the social media posts of her and Stacie and seeing them together those couple of times, she seemed like a decent girl.
Unfortunately though Stacie is just Stacie and can't commit properly even if she is in a relationship with someone as loyal and loving as Chloe.
In Beca's eyes though, everyone was like Paige. She hadn't been happy for a while, she knew it herself but would never admit it because people would just call her out for not breaking up with her. Beca hated hurting people though and that's exactly what would happen.
Beca was always the one holding people up, she had so much weight on her shoulders but felt like she had no one in return, if she fell, no one would be there to catch her.
Ever since her father died in the past summer, she just wasn't the same girl but would never open up to anyone about it because she doesn't trust anyone because why should she?
Not much content I know just breaking myself back it but yes its bechloe endgame. So chloe is based off of myself, Stacie is based off my ex and Beca is based off of my ex's best friend. Messy situation but I'll show you guys how it all pans out if you're willing to stick around.
