I hope you all enjoy, I didnt really know what to write for this one..but I hope you like the start to finish.
I sighed, as I had my parchment while organizing the student supplies within Professor Snape's classroom. It was fairly easy, and simple. How the man doesn't keep everything alphabetically now, was a mystery. It seemed everything was just scattered about, and with the way my brain worked….it bothered me.
"Enjoying yourself?" I heard the deep voice of the man, who was in charge of all things potions.
Looking over to him, as I wrote down fairy wings on my parchment. "If by enjoying myself, you mean going crazy at the sight of the lack of organization...then yes."
"I could have kept you scrubbing cauldrons." He replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Thanks..I guess." I replied, going back to organizing, my head still spinning at having flashes of images in the Great Hall. "Professor...has the Great Hall always been lit and grand?"
"That is a peculiar question." He muttered, looking at me curiously. "Does this have something to do with the little prophecy you shared with me?"
I nodded. "I kept seeing flashes around me, the hall went from bright and grand, to dark, empty, and destroyed." I replied calmly. "I am unsure if I am seeing the ghosts of the past, or the bleeding of the future."
He seemed surprised. "Why are you telling me this?"
"What do you mean? I tell you almost everything." I replied simply.
"Yes, I suppose you do." He replied. "Though, you failed to mention the latest rumor?"
"Dammit…" I grumbled.
"Five points from Gryffindor for language." He replied, but I could tell he was greatly amused. "Did you think it wasn't brought to my attention, no one is believing it within the staff."
"I don't understand…"I muttered.
"Seems everyone knows about you, how did you put it "crashing" on my couch." He replied.
"I couldn't get out." I pouted. "Wait are you teasing me?"
"I would never tease a student." He replied simply, wrinkling his nose as if he was disgusted.
"Professor." I replied simply. "Tell that to your aura."
"Do I need to give another day of detention?" He asked, "or take more house points?"
"I don't care about that house cup." I replied simply.
"Should I take points from my own house?" He suggested.
"Okay that's not fair..Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and all of Slytherin do not deserve that." I replied, giving my best scowl.
"Lucius has taught you well." He replied.
"Hello, I am my father's daughter." My response earned me a snort. Looking him in the eye calmly, I was suddenly aware of how tall I had become in light of recent years. When I arrived at Hogwarts three years ago, I was maybe at his waist, now at his chest. Still short, but dang it was an improvement. "How do you feel about this whole, Triwizard cup?"
"It does not affect me in the least." He replied simply.
"Well I don't care for it." I replied simply.
He snorted once again. "You are saying that, only because you cannot sit with your brother this year."
"That's not right, and you know it. Almost every family is together here…" I replied instantly.
He nodded calmly. "Yes, I am aware….I noticed Potter speaking with you?"
"He wasn't being hostile...which means he knows something I don't…" I replied simply.
Professor Snape eyed me carefully. "You hate being left out."
"Don't you?" I replied.
His dark eyes watched me, before he stood. "Your father will be here, at the Yule Ball. Both you and him need to speak with Professor Dumbledore."
"Why can't you tell me?" I asked softly.
"I do not know all the details, Telawney saw something last Christmas...but I left before hearing all the details." He replied honestly.
"You do know some though?" I asked.
"I will be in the office, when you and your father speak with the Headmaster." He replied, a hand gently touching my shoulder.
"Alright." I sighed, before a knock was heard at the door.
Professor Snape moved to the door. "Mr. Malfoy."
"Draco." I greeted, happily.
"Sis...you got detention?" Draco asked, amused, and my response was to glare.
"Brat." I replied, before wrapping my arms around him.
I heard his deep sigh. "This is messed up, you belong at our table."
"I know." My response made him laugh. "Least Fred and George have my back."
"That's true." Draco muttered, before pecking my cheek. Turning his attention to Professor Snape. "Professor Dumbledore does know our father won't be happy about this."
"Mr. Malfoy, I believe your father has more things on his mind." Was the reply.
That was most likely true, as when the guest had left that morning. My father had returned to us, ghostly white, clinging on to me as if he was terrified I was going to be snatched away. He proceeded after five minutes, to pull both Mum and Draco to him as well. "Professor Snape is right, though don't be surprised if I choose to eat with Mr. Filch instead."
"He eats in the kitchens, right?" Draco asked.
"Yup." I replied simply.
Draco nodded calmly. "Oh and what did Potter say to you?"
"Oh he was just surprised I had detention, with Professor Snape here." I replied with a smirk.
Draco grinned, looking at the man. "Is that because you are soft on her."
"Mr. Malfoy, that will be ten points from Slytherin." Was the response, but to be honest I was having trouble not laughing. "What is so amusing?"
"Nothing...Professor." I replied with a grin. He narrowed his eyes at me, before rummaging through my mind. I playfully returned his narrowed gaze, and pushed him out. "Professor Snape." I chided playfully.
"You successfully pushed me out." He muttered, his eyes still narrowed. "What do you have to hide?"
"I'm a teenage girl, I don't have to disclose that information." Draco's eyes went huge, no one spoke to this man like that, and didn't receive some sort of retribution.
Professor Snape eyed me, before he pulled back slightly. His dark gaze, traveling my form; before a smirk formed on his lips. "You would have made a fine Slytherin."
"Honorary." I replied simply.
"That you are." He agreed. "Your detention is up, you may leave."
"No thanks." I replied simply.
"You are not leaving?" Draco asked.
"Nah, Krum is already approaching me again." I replied simply. "I stay here, and he won't try."
"He tried at the world cup." Draco replied.
I eyed my brother. "He tried again, in the Great Hall. No means no."
"I saw." Draco replied.
"You are a Malfoy Princess." Professor Snape suddenly stated. "It shows, by your looks and grace...you will be approached by all sorts..especially pureblood wizards."
Draco nodded. "But, don't worry. Father won't arrange a marriage for you, both mother and father were lucky that theirs worked out...but they do hate the notion of arranged marriages."
"Good for me." I replied.
"Though I would not recommend bringing home a Weasley." Professor Snape replied simply.
I turned to him simply. "Fred, George, and Precy are friends...but they could not handle me."
"Accurate, you need someone headstrong." Draco agreed.
"You need Astoria." I replied, His pale skin went redder than the Gryffindor robe.
Professor Snape snorted. "You are becoming comfortable around me."
"I'm always comfortable with you." I replied instantly. "Have been since day one."
Draco grinned. "That is true."
Professor Snape seemed to eye me for a moment, studying my form closely. "Why?"
I looked at him confused, because to be honest I didn't know why. Initially I thought it was because he didn't bow to Potter like he was Merlin himself, but I knew in my heart that wasn't the case. Something told me I could trust him the day I laid my eyes on him in the Leaky Cauldron. I frowned slightly, because I still did not have an answer. "I don't know, I've just known I could trust you since the Leaky Cauldron."
He took a careful step back, his eyes narrowing as if to see a lie. I let him in my head just slightly so he could find none, before allowing him to see I genuinely cared for him. I didn't know how strongly, but I did know I didn't want to ever see him hurt, or worse dead. "Miss Malfoy…" He muttered, before I realized he'd seen the dream. "We will discuss this at a later date, now...go with your brother."
Draco eyed me, as we left. My mind dripped with anxiety, but I couldn't very well dread it for long...running not into my brother; but thankful he was there to catch me. Looking up the kind face of Hufflepuff's Cedric Diggory. "Watch it." My brother hissed at him.
"Sorry." Cedric said, I could tell he was being honest. "Are you alright, Amelia?"
"Yeah." I replied with a soft smile of my own, I could see why Cho liked him. He was incredibly sweet, kind, and handsome...the perfect boy to take home to mama.
He grinned brightly. "I am glad you are well, I was actually wondering if you would accompany me to the Black Lake?"
Normally I would have told him no, but as my gaze caught Krum walking over to us. "I would love to, Cedric." I heard the words leave my lips, allowing him to link his arm with mine.
0.o.0
Professor Moody was a bloody scary, and his brown aura made it worse...a thousand times worse. Sitting beside much to my dismay Granger, as he had assigned seats. He came limping in going on and on about Unforgivable curses, I had a sinking feeling in the gut.
"When it comes to the dark arts, I believe in a practical approach. But first, which of you can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are?" He asked, I really didn't like this.
"Three sir." Granger answered.
He nodded to her. "And they are so named?"
"Because they are unforgivable, using only one will send you-" I began answering, but he was quick to cut me off.
"Will earn you a one way ticket to Azkaban. Correct...Miss Swan I presume." I could see Granger was about to respond, but I stopped her.
'Don't, his aura is wrong.' I sent it to her, and everyone in the classroom. They all looked at me, but no one said a word.
"A Muggleborn, who hangs out with Slytherins…" He continued to be most amused. "Now, the Ministry says you're too young to see what these curses do. I say different!" He exclaimed, taking his attention off of me. Me being me, had felt him trying to rummage away in my head..I was suddenly very thankful for Professor Snape giving me Occlumency lessons since second year. "You need to know what you're up against, you need to be prepared, and you need to find somewhere else to put your chewing gum other than the underside of your desk Mr. Finnigan!"
"No way, the old codger can see that." I heard someone mutter.
'Draco….this man terrifies me.' I was quick to connect to my brother.
"So which curse shall we start with." Professor Moody asked, while turning to us all.
After the lesson, I was near tears as I wanted far from the man. Even while he was manipulating, torturing, and then killing a defenseless arachnid for his lesson...he continued to try and get in my head. Running straight to potions class after we were done, ignoring Draco as I did.
Professor Snape was surprised, as soon as he saw me. "Miss Malfoy, you are very early."
"Professor...thank you." I finally stated, before breaking down into tears in front of the man. His eyes widened, before he was upon me pulling me to his private office as I continued to sob.
Y'all ready?
1) What do you think went through Snape's head at the end of the chapter?
2) How will Lucius react to Moody trying to get into Amelia's head?
Only 2 this time, but these could be long answers...and I don't think more is needed..as these are big questions.
