AN: this is my first ever story so please don't flame me and please give constructive criticism. I'll try to make the characters stay in their original characters, so if I'm doing something wrong please point it out and tell if I how I can improve of it. Anyway, I'm done with the AN so let's get in to the story

When Ruby was a small child, she heard story's before Man and Faunus came into being that there were other creatures to keep the Grimm at bay, these creatures came in different sizes and forms. These creatures where older then humanity itself and had powers beyond imagining, this is why they disappeared and left humanity to fight for itself, because the creatures knew humanity would be corrupted by trying to obtain the powers of the great creatures and use it for themselves. All left, except for the great elders, the 3 black dragons, Alatreon, Dire Miralis and The mightiest of all, the Fatalis, humanity tried to find the great elders to try and convince them to fight against the Grimm once again, but alas, the creatures themselves where hidden, waiting till their presence would be needed again. Only the greatest threats were deemed worthy of interference. When the great elders went into hiding, humanity became sitting ducks for the Grimm. Humanity cursed all these creatures for leaving them to die. Little did they know, this was merely a test for them to see if they where worthy of being helped by these great creatures, but Humanity failed, and horribly so.

Humanity became too dependent on the Creatures for their defence, so much that they forgot how to fend for themselves. They were mauled upon by the Grimm and almost driven to extinction. This is where the 3 great elders decided to intervene, they decided that only a small percentage of humanity was worthy of surviving. The great elders decided to stop the test, they had seen enough of humanity's true nature, the nature of self-perseverance. They saw if Humanity where left a choice, they would always choose themselves to live on. This was deemed unacceptable by the great elders, so they decided that humanity didn't deserve to live on the world of Remnant anymore and decided to wipe Humanity out.

But there was a small percentage Humanity who let themselves be sacrificed in exchange for the rest of Humanity to live on, the Elders accepted their sacrifices, but not in the way they thought. The Great Elders decided to wipe all of humanity out, except for those who let themselves be sacrificed. Before the elders left once again the remainders of Humanity asked the Fatalis "why, why did you do this"

He gave but one answer "those who aren't prepared to gain something without being prepared to sacrifice anything are unworthy of living a peaceful life, those who decide to sacrifice everything they have in hope for a better life are those who are worthy of living one. but do not mistake us to take joy in suffering, we help those who are worthy of life, but we purge those who aren't, let this be a lesson to remember until your death, and let it be remembered after your death, because when those who are worthy ask for help, we come without a second thought." And with that the Great White Fatalis left humanity, never to be seen again.

That is until now, because Remnant is out of balance once again, and it requires help.

AN: So, too much, too less, just right? I'm gonna be honest, this story idea was in my head for a few years but I had no idea how to work it out so this is what I got now. I decided to picture the monsters as the guardians of humanity with the 3 black dragons as gods (yes I know safi'jiiva is a black dragon, but I wanted to be something like a the 3 gods of Hinduism) and the other elders as the strongest guardians. As for romance, I don't think I'll do any, because I'm a too inexperienced write to write that and I'm not in the mood to see people quit reading this story just because their favourite isn't there. As for grammar errors, please point em out, because English isn't my first language (for those curious what my first language is, It's Dutch). I don't think I'm gonna put any OC's in this story for the same reason as I'm not doin any romance. I'm trying to make every chapter around 1K words but I don't know it that's possible, I'll try weekly updates but I can't make any promises seeing the CoronaCrisis at the moment, so school is a Bitch right now with all the homework and Assignments.
