By all rules and logic and standards of beauty, Ino should be without a doubt the most sought-after beauty in the whole school. She's got the looks, the body, the sass, the whole package all wrapped up in a pretty bow. But as it stands, Sakura is the one that everyone, namely the guys, can't seem to get enough of.

Sakura was the one always at the top of the class.

Sakura was the one with the pink hair.

Sakura was the one who stupidly chopped off that same pink hair after summer break and looked so great, all the other girls wanted to cut theirs too.

Sakura was the one who was always confessed to by upper and lowerclassmen.

Sakura was the one with the fearless attitude and crazy violent temper.

And this infuriated Ino to no end. That Sakura was competing with her her and not even TRYING.

"Tch." She would scoff, experiencing this misplaced disdain for the pinkette because she was not jealous. Just frustrated. That stupid wide forehead. That stupid ugly shoulder length hair. That stupid temper. That stupid big brain. That stupid attitude of hers.

"Hmph," came a soft huff as she resigned to no longer think about her. Instead, she would focus on taking her down in a way that would involve her hands getting dirty in the least possible way.

A rumor.

Something so small, small as a white lie, that would flare up and spread across the whole campus in a matter of days.

"Hey, did you hear? Sakura's got a crush on someone. But don't tell anyone. It's a total secret!" Honestly, why didn't she think of this before? The best way to get the competition off the market was to make them seem unavailable. No one would believe Sakura had a boyfriend. But a crush? And a nameless one at that?

Genius.

A/N: So the way this works is I'll post a chapter from the point of view of a guy who responds to a version of the rumor that he believes applies to him with a snippet of a reaction.
