Heh. I've got to say, I'm a bit surprised about how many people wanted to see the next chapter of this story; and in such a short amount of time, too. Well, ask and you shall receive. Here's chapter 2 of Rise of Zeo.

The three occupants of the Owl House simply stood there in shock, looking on in disbelief. There, in front of them, stood a teenage male version of the Owl Lady herself. While they stood there speechless, the clone simply smiled.

"Well, this is quite the surprising turn of events…" King spoke.

"I know…" Luz said, before a smile appeared across her face, "This is awesome! I actually managed to clone something; and on my first try, too!" she said excitedly. The human girl then walked up to the clone, "Hi, I'm Luz. And these two are King," she gestured to the dog-like creature, "And Eda" she gestured to the Owl Lady. "Ooh! We should think of a name for you! How about—"

"Sorry to interrupt, but I already have a name" the clone gestured to himself.

"Already?" King raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah. My name is—" *Bonk* he was interrupted by Eda smacking him on the head with her staff, "Ow! What's the big idea?!" he winced, rubbing the spot where he was hit while glaring at the elder witch.

"Huh, that's weird. Usually clones disappear when you hit them" Eda said. She then turned to the human girl, "Luz, where did you learn to do a cloning spell?" she looked at her with suspicion.

"From this book" Luz said, taking the book from the coffee table and showing it to her mentor.

"Educational obedience. Why, Luz?" Eda cocked an eyebrow.

"You were gone, so I thought learn a spell or two from this book. With two of me, I could learn twice as many spells" Luz told her, nervously rubbing her arm, "Plus, Amity said I couldn't do it because I'm a human and I wanted to prove her wrong" she added

Eda sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose, "Well, you've got determination, I'll give you that. If anyone understands your drive to prove yourself, it's me" she told her student. She then looked at the book herself and opened it to the page about the cloning process, "Ah, I see what you did wrong," Eda began, "You were supposed to cross your arms then spread them to the side and disperse the energy, creating an illusion of the thing you wanted to clone" she told her.

"Really? Oh…" Luz said, cringing at her little incident.

"Yeah, but instead, it hit me and… apparently created a real, flesh and blood clone" Eda gestured to the boy, "Although, why it's a teenage boy is beyond me" she rubbed her chin.

"The book said to think of the thing I wanted to clone. I wanted to clone myself; so, maybe that's why it's a teenager like me" Luz suggested.

"Hm. I guess that makes sense" Eda shrugged.

"But why is it a boy?" King asked, sitting on the clone's shoulder.

"I might've also been thinking about boys for a second or two" Luz sheepishly rubbed the back of her head.

"I have a name you know," the clone grabbed King by the back of his collar, placing him gently on the ground, "It's Zeo"

"Having your own name, the second you come to life? Impressive" Eda smiled.

"Hey, if this guy's a clone of Eda, doesn't that mean he has all of her memories and powers, too?" King asked.

"Not all clones have the memories of the person they're cloned from, King. But that is a good question" Luz said, and then looked at Zeo and asked, "Do you have Eda's memories and abilities?"

"Hmm…" Zeo rubbed his chin. He thought for a moment, but nothing was coming to him, "Well, the only memories I have of these past couple of minutes. As for having her abilities, I'm not entirely sure" he replied.

"Well, if you're made from my DNA then you should" Eda said, placing a hand on her hip, "Just go like this" she demonstrated her magic ability by creating a circle of light in the air which resulted in creating a small ball of light that quickly vanished.

Zeo mimicked Eda by drawing a circle in the air with his finger. However, unlike Eda, nothing happened when he did it. There wasn't even a ring of light.

"Haha, the clone can't do magic!" King teased.

"Shut it, runt!" Zeo narrowed his eyes at self-proclaimed king of demons with a slight glare.

"King, be nice" Luz scolded him in a somewhat motherly tone.

"Hm. Odd…" Eda rubbed her chin.

Eda then pointed at Zeo and created a circle. Zeo then began to glow for a brief moment with the glow dissipating as quickly as it came. A second later, a 3D holographic silhouette of Zeo appeared before him, showing all his internal organs.

"You have a magic bile sac like all witches; and yet, you weren't able to do a basic light spell" Eda said, snapping her fingers which made the silhouette vanish. "Maybe you're like Luz where you have your own way of doing magic"

"Yeah, watch" Luz pulled out her handheld sketchpad and drew the symbol on it before tapping it with her pen which then transformed the symbol into a tiny ball of golden light, "That's how I do magic"

"Hm. Interesting" Zeo rubbed his chin with curiosity.

"Since we're on the subject of magic, why don't you do me a favor and take this book back to the library" Eda told them while handing Luz the book. "You go with her, let her show you around" she turned to her gender-swapped clone.

"Alright, be back in a bit. Come on, Zeo" Luz said as she made her way out.

Zeo glanced over his shoulder at Eda for a few brief seconds before raising his hood and following Luz out the door.

The Library…

"So, this is the library, where we get all the information on the stuff we need to know about" Luz said as she entered the library, Zeo following close behind her.

"Really? I never knew…" Zeo sarcastically remarked with a playful roll of his eyes.

"Returning the book already?" the librarian asked in his usual uncaring monotone as levitated the book from Luz.

"Yeah, turns out the spells were a bit advanced for me" Luz said, rubbing her arm. Although, that was a bit of a half lie.

"Hmph. Just as I thought" they turned to see Amity, her arms crossed with a smug look on her face, "I knew a cloning spell would be too advanced for a human to attempt" she mocked.

"Hey, I'm still a beginner" Luz furrowed her eyebrows.

"A beginner that can only do a basic light spell; something even a child could do" Amity replied while looking at her nails.

"Hey, back off" Zeo spoke up, taking a step forward, "She at least tried to do the spell. Magic doesn't come easily to everyone"

"And just who might you be?" Amity raised an eyebrow.

"Let's just say I'm a friend of Luz's. And you have no right to insult her magic skills" Zeo told her.

"Oh?" Amity asked.

"Yeah. Some of us can't even do magic. So, if you're going to insult anyone, it better not be her" Zeo replied, glaring at the green-haired girl.

"A witch that can't do magic? What a failure; such a disappointment" Amity insulted with a shake of her head.

"What's your problem, Amity? You shouldn't—" Luz was cut off by Zeo placing a hand on her shoulder, the silver-haired boy shaking his head in response.

"I've got a test to take tomorrow. See you around, human" Amity, and then looked at Zeo, "And human's failure friend" she added before making her way out of the building.

Zeo sighed under his breath.

"Hey, thanks for sticking up for me. But why'd you tell her to let her insult you? Luz asked.

"I'm… not sure. It just felt like the right thing to do for some reason" Zeo shrugged with an unsure expression, "I mean, I've only known you for a short amount of time, but even I know you don't deserve to be treated like that. Sure, you can only do magic by drawing symbols on paper, but who knows? You might have some hidden potential in you" he said reassuringly.

"Aw, thanks" Luz smiled, "The same could be said about you. You probably have your own way of doing magic, you just haven't discovered it yet"

"Yeah, like what?" Zeo questioned.

"I'm… not sure…" Luz glanced, "But maybe we could figure it out" she smiled, "Even though you can't do spells, you could probably do other forms of magic. It could be making potions; deciphering ancient scrolls; summon creatures through incantations" she listed off the other possibilities.

"Ehh. No offense, Luz, but those sound kind of lame… and boring. Like the kind of stuff you'd learn at a dorky magic school or something" Zeo said with a roll of his eyes.

"Heh. You kind of sounded like Eda there for a moment" Luz commented.

"Well, I am made from her DNA. Only makes sense that I'd have at least some of her personality" Zeo replied.

"Come on, Zeo, what've you got to lose?" Luz asked rhetorically.

"Hmm…" Zeo glanced at the ground, pondering.

The Park…

"So, where do you want to begin? What do you want to do first?" Luz asked, she and Zeo sitting on a bench at the park.

"Not too sure; they all sound lame" Zeo replied with a shrug.

"Well, why don't you try doing magic the way I do it?" Luz offered, handing him a spare pen and handheld sketchpad, "Just draw the symbol on page. The bigger the symbol, the more powerful the spell" she told him.

The silver-haired teen took the items in hand. He was about draw the symbol, when something caught his eye. On the ground, a snake slithered across the dirt, hissing every few seconds as it did so. It was a harmless garden snake. Zeo then noticed a lightning bolt shaped scar over its left eye.

"Hold on a second, Luz" he held up a finger to the human girl.

Zeo took the pen and used it to sketch the snake on the sketchpad. It took several minutes, but eventually he had finished the drawing of the legless reptile. However, it looked nothing like the real-life creature. Instead, it looked like a cross between a cobra and a rattlesnake, its eyes blank. At the top of the picture was a box with the words Thunder Snake written in it, a lightning bolt symbol at the right end of it.

"Hey, that's actually pretty good!" Luz commented.

"Thanks" Zeo replied. "What were we doing again?" he asked.

"You were about to draw the symbol" Luz reminded him.

"Oh, right!" Zeo said.

Zeo flipped the page over and drew the symbol on the back of it, just as Luz had done before. He then tapped on the symbol with the point of the pen, causing the symbol to glow with a golden light. However, rather than the page crumpling up and turning into a ball of light, the symbol instead released a small pulse of energy. The energy turned the page of paper into a card that detached itself from the sketchpad. For the back, it was black with golden yellow edges, the owl symbol in the center with the same color.

Both Luz and Zeo were at a loss for words. They hadn't expected that. Zeo flipped the card over. On the front was the monster he had drawn, except more detailed. The snake was black with glowing cerulean eyes; it had cerulean for the inside of its frills, underbelly, and rattle tail. The image was of the serpent lunging towards the frame with its mouth open as it slithered along the ground during a thunderstorm.

"Whoa, that's really cool! How did you do that?" Luz asked with interest.

"I'm… not sure. But I think we just found out what my unique type of magic is" Zeo smiled, "Question is, what am I supposed to do with it?" he looked at the card with a raised eyebrow.

"Maybe Eda knows. Come on, let's ask her!" Luz said, getting from the bench, Zeo following her as they made their way back to the Owl House.

The Owl House…

"So, what's with the stars?" Luz asked, pointing at the two stars just below the creature's name.

"Maybe its strength or its rarity?" Zeo suggested with an unknowing shrug.

"Eda, we're back" Luz called as they entered the house, "Good news: Zeo found his own type of—" she stopped herself midsentence when she saw the shadow of Eda's cursed owl form along the hallway wall, "Oh no…" she said under her breath.

"What?" Zeo looked at her with confusion.

Thinking fast, Luz took the chalk she used earlier and began to draw a gigantic circle along the nearest wall. She heard the beastly version of Eda growl as she approached closer. It took a few seconds, but Luz managed to draw the owl symbol within the circle. Just in time too, because Owl Eda had entered the living room, snarling at both teens. The transformed Owl Lady charged at them.

"This worked last time…" Luz muttered.

Just as Owl Eda lunged at them, Luz slapped the symbol with her hand, creating a giant ball of white light. Owl Eda roared in pain as the brightness hit her eyes, the creature being engulfed in a blinding flash of light…

Alright, that's chapter 2 done. Was it rushed? Probably. Could I have waited a few more chapters before showing Zeo's own type of magic? I could've. Still, I'm ok with the chapter none the less and I hope you all enjoyed it for what it is. I'm not sure I got Eda's character right, but I'm trying at least.

So, looks like Zeo's type of magic is making cards. Are these just regular cards or are they maybe something more? You'll find out in the next chapter.

If you have any ideas for the next chapter or future chapters, say it in a review or feel free to PM me.
