A PAW Patrol Story

Chapter 1

Chase's POV

It was a weird and tiring day in Adventure Bay, or at least to me it was. At four in the morning, someone thought it was a good idea to try and kidnap Mayor Goodway for reasons I care not to explain. Being the Police pup I am I chased the mayor napper all the way to the middle of nowhere he ran out of gas. What a plan. The man got out of the car and tried to shoot at me with a 9mm pistol.

To be fair, it was the most acting I have ever gotten ever since I joined the PAW Patrol.

Naturally, I ducked and he had horrible aim but he shot out my front tires and totaled the engine. Thank the Lord, Ryder finally trusted me with a gun of my own. When he stopped to reload I fired back with my Glock 14 at him and got him in the legs.

The end of the story is that he is at the hospital and under arrested for the attempted kidnapping of the Mayor (He never got his hands on her), running from police, and attempted murder of an officer. The only way I got back home was that I had to call Ryder to come with the PAW Patroller and pick me and my destroyed vehicle. Foggy Bottom Police handled the rest. If only Adventure Bay had a real police department. Another thing that I just got informed on is that he had ten pounds of cocaine in his car. Brilliant.

So all good news except my vehicle is beyond repair. Rocky said so himself. Because this fiasco was four in the morning and the action wasn't done until 7:40 am I tried to go back to bed but only 20 minutes later the pups came running in and would not stop asking questions like, "How did you survive?" "How many times did he shoot at you?" or "Where did you end up at the end of the chase?" All of which I answered unwillingly but to stop them I did the best to answer each question.

Now I bring you to the present. The pups have now left me alone while they answer the same questions they asked earlier to me to the press who would not shut up. The only reason that I hate the Lookout is that there is no such thing as privacy without a pup-house.

Marshall said to me that the press won't leave until I come out for pictures and what I would call a civilian interrogation of the police. I responded with a slight growl because he woke me which then I quickly apologized. Marshall said it was fine because I am maturing and I would have bursts of anger at random times. I believe it was because I was tired and wanted to sleep.

So now at noon, people are still outside of the Lookout waiting for me to come out and take pictures with the "Savior of the Mayor". Like holy shit, all I did was my job and now I want it to go behind me. I hate being the spotlight. But then, you, as the reader would say, "Oh but once the spotlight is off of you. You will want the spotlight back." You would be wrong.

The whole PAW Patrol is the spotlight, not just me. As Marshall said, when I'm in the spotlight everyone watches me like North Korean guards watching prisoners in the concentration camps that they say they don't have. If I lash out or make the slightest remark that I'm maturing. Who knows what would happen then.

Now, this is getting boring of me telling you everything. I might as well get it over with and then I can sleep. The rest of the pups were tired of trying to please the people and we were all in the Lookout's hang out area where the press was trying to look in at every single window to the point you just want to show your gun to make them leave. But then they will think that is a threat.

"Marshall, Rocky. Could you two come with me outside to answer the press and hopefully that will satisfy them?" I asked them as they were talking to one another.

"Sure Chase. Just be warned that you are going to be bombarded by questions and camera flashes," Rocky warned me.

"Oh, lovely, bright lights and loud noises that are not gunshots," I said sarcastically. I think the press has single-handedly ruined my life. Every single time we rescue something or someone these days, the press is ready to block our way home and flashes us with bright lights and loud noises of questions that anyone could answer. All I can say that is appropriate that makes them move and lets us get home is, "Shut up and get out of our way." The pups thank me like a God and we get home only for the same press to be waiting for us. I rarely say that anyway because it could come and bite me later.

Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself, "Ya, we are all tired of keeping them off the property but you are the only officer in this town," Marshall said.

"Don't remind me," I complained, "Might as well make them pleased and get over with it."

"No kidding," Skye said over her shoulder while she and Zuma were playing Pup Pup Boogie.

I rolled my eyes and got my uniform on to look impressive to the press. I can already feel the press getting behind me and surrounding my friends and me, so we could only answer their obscured questions and not walk away.

Once outside the blinding white light of the cameras washed over me like a wave plus the sun was bright today. So why did they need to have the flash on? It makes no sense.

Here come the stupid questions. The first reporter asked, "Chase, who was the kidnapper in question, and should Adventure Bay and surrounding towns be worried?"

'My goodness,' I said in my head. I then responded with, "The name of the subject will not be said for police reasons and the second question is a no. The town of Adventure Bay and surrounding towns do not need to worry about him because he was shot twice in the legs. Right now he is under and at Foggy Bottom hospital."

"What charges are going to go against the man?" said another reporter.

'Finally a good question,' I said to myself again. Marshall and Rocky then looked to me and nodded, "The charges are going to be attempted kidnapping of Mayor Goodway, evading and running from police, attempted murder of an officer, and now in the possession of ten pounds of cocaine and meth in the vehicle." I saw all the journalists look down at their notepads and wrote down what I said.

Once that was done they all started to ask dumb questions like, "Were you injured?" "Did you expect this to happen?" or "Will this happen again?" At this point, I said, "Thank you for your time and that is all for now."

Marshall and Rocky, like the good friends they are, made sure none of them followed and ordered them for the 40th time to pack up and leave. This time they listened and left, finally.

In the Lookout, I thanked Marshall and Rocky for their help and went to the top deck to watch Adventure Bay and to rest hopefully. Understanding, the pups didn't bother to come with me for they knew I needed some alone time.

Finally, I can talk to you guys about what is going on in this world right now. Like I said before, I am maturing meaning I'm finally growing up. Ryder said when we start to get more mature and grown-up he will start allowing us to do other things. I hope one of those is to start families of our own, maybe. What can I say?

Talking about feelings, I don't know. I used to have a crush on Skye but since then I never made a move or I think I just flat out gave up because other things came up. Plus I think she hates guns. That wouldn't really work out anyway. Plus I think she likes Zuma or Marshall.

About Marshall, for some reason, people think Marshall and I are a thing, as in boyfriends like we are gay. We're not even close. Sure, we are really good friends and we love each other as brothers but not as partners. Plus Marshall at this time of his life is getting all the chicks as well as me. Boy does Marshall love it but then again it's Marshall, he loves attention. Me, on the other hand, I don't like it because of the attention.

Every single time some female says hi or hey I stop and talk because it is the male thing to do. After a while, the girl's friends show up and it gets really uncomfortable because then, they get all sexual and giddy. A feeling I hate and am always worried about because they all start to try and flirt with me and get me to open up. Being the mature pup I am and also being the Christian pup my parents raised me to be, I politely say no and walk off.

Getting a real girlfriend, I wonder if Everest is interested. I have a crush on her now because she is the same size as me, the same age as me, loves the mountains, and we always work really well together. Every time when a case goes to the mountains she is right there with me until the problem is solved. She has begun to lean on me for help in general too. She has also opened up to me a lot telling me her deepest secrets which some are interesting while others I didn't need ever to know, but I listen anyway because that is the polite thing to do.

Maybe that is her way of telling me she is interested? I might as well head to Jakes Mountain today since there is nothing else to do right now besides sitting around for Mayor Goodway to lose her stupid chicken at some points I just want to fry it up and eat it for lunch.

After a while of me resting and watching the town, Ryder came up the elevator, "Hey, Chase. I have some good news."

"What news?" I asked. I then remembered my vehicle, "Is it about my vehicle? Can you fix it?"

"No, your vehicle has been stripped for parts and I got all your stuff out before Rocky went to work stripping it," Ryder said.

"Oh, so the good news is that you got my stuff?" I said as I came closer.

"Nope. The good news is that I was saving something for you when you matured anyway and I was going to give it to you today anyway. It just got delivered from the FBI this morning." Ryder explained. I then got very excited. I knew exactly what was waiting for me.

"What did you get me?" I asked as I jumped with joy trying to act surprised.

"Go down the slide and make sure you land on the cushion where your old vehicle used to be. Your new one should be right in front of you when you land."

I quickly went down the slide and saw the blue and yellow cushion with my symbol on it. I landed and then looked up.

There was a Ford Raptor all decked out with a full steel black ram-bar, red and blue lights in the inside of the windshield and under the doors. It was a nice royal blue color with a big bed to put anything a police pup needed all in it with more storage than I could ever imagine. Also on the top of the bed were two sliding hatches. One covered a radar dish that was flooded inside and the other hatch had my brand new drone launcher and drone. I'm saying that my new truck has everything I need in the back bed of it, all inside. I climbed to the roof of the truck and saw the two hatches closed and sealed tight. I jumped back down to the tailgate and opened the top door and then the tailgate. In the bed were drawers that have all types of police gear from SWAT gear to investigation equipment and cones. Ammunition was locked in a safe in the far front just in case.

I now, after closing the back, went to the cabin which on the driver side had a laptop on a holder and a printer built into the dashboard. It also had the control panel for all the lights and siren in the center console. In the back, where passengers would go, were all my weapons on a rack where the left passenger seat would go facing the door so I can open the door and have easy access to all of them. For your information, I have been trained to be a top sniper and an infiltration agent in the FBI. So, to fit that Ryder and the FBI got me a DT SRS-A2 Covert bolt action sniper rifle with a fairly large scope that can be dialed to 2x all the way to 8x. It was brand new but it was the same type of sniper I used to have. For any covert mission that I would be tasked with, an MP7 with a couple of drum mags and silencer will do just fine because of its small size and the ability to put it in a compact form so I can fit in my new FBI or SWAT pup-packs. Last but not least was a Glock 34 for everyday use with extendable mags and its longer barrel.

Because of all this, I get two new uniforms. An FBI uniform that has black thermal/night vision tracking goggles that also have a radio so I can stay in contact with anyone, gray pants that cover my rear and have cargo pockets for anything, black boots for my hind paws, and a black utility belt to hold my pistol to my side. I then have a navy blue long sleeve shirt that covers my front and on top of it a tan-colored ballistic vest with an FBI patch on the front, an American flag on the left shoulder, and my old covert team patch that I used to be on before the PAW Patrol. It was a screeching hawk facing you like it's going to eat you. Anyway, on top of all that I have a new pup pack that can carry my MP7, flashlight, and electric net launcher. The second uniform is more of SWAT gear. It is colored the same as my old set (navy blue with lime green accents) but instead of dark blue plants, I have dark army green pants that are like my FBI pants because they too have cargo pockets and replace the normal boots with wall walker boots which I would wear for both my front paws and rear paws. For my torso, I have the same color long sleeve shirt that covers everything from my black tactical belt to my front paws and neck. On top of the shirt is bullet-resistant armor that protects my front, underside, and back. With it, I have my new helmet that has a thermal/night vision visor and a face mask to cover my muzzle that can keep smoke out of my mouth for a short amount of time. For my SWAT pup pack, I can hold my MP7 but also a flashlight like my last one, a zip line launcher that instead of suction cups has a grappling spike that can pierce through an entire foot of solid concrete, and for infuriating rooms, a flashbang launcher.

Now that I come to think about it, I think my old friend in the FBI arranged for all this but besides that, I had to thank Ryder for allowing this. The only thing that he doesn't know about is the secret compartment under the floorboards. I also really wanted to put on my new FBI uniform, so I did just that.

Just as I finished putting the uniform on, Ryder came behind me and I ran to his side in excitement, "Thank you, Ryder," I exclaimed.

"You're welcome Chase and you deserved it. You have been a really good pup and I decided to spoil you," Ryder explained, "You have Ford and the FBI to thank though. Ford put a very powerful Hellcat V8 Engine in place of the Raptor's original V6 EcoBoost engine so you can have more horsepower and speed just in case you get in a chase again. Another plus is that all the doors are bulletproof from a 9mm to a 50 cal and the glass is bulletproof from 9mm to 30 cal," Ryder explained.

"Cool," I said full knowing this already. But now I could go hang out with Everest without Ryder or any of the pups having to drive me there let alone be there. Who knows what we will do. Then again, I could also test out my new Raptor.

I got into the truck and lit up the lights. Red and blues flashed all over from the back to the front. I then turned them off. The truck then looked just like a fully decked out civilian truck. It had extra-bright LED light bars above the windshield and bottom of the ram-bar. Master Com speakers allow me to blare the siren louder than ever before and speak to anyone without getting outside. Then I noticed a winch cable controller on the roof of the driver side.

"Ryder, thank you again. But now, can I go see if Everest could hang out or something. I just need to get away from here for some time?" I asked.

"Sure. Just make sure you stay out of the way if she and Jake are doing something else unless they need your help," Ryder said.

"Ok," I said as I turned the ignition to start the Raptor. Oh, boy, did it sound so good. I then took off to Jake's Mountain to see if Everest was open for the week.
