Chapter 7: The Final Battle

Sam grumbled as she awoke, finding she could not move her body "H-Hnn!" She grunted, trying to get free, but she was covered in a strange and foul-smelling sticky substance... and not the good kind "What is going on?" she whispered as she looked down... And saw she was held in what almost looker like a cocoon, which covered her entire body besides her head "Where? Where am-?" She grunted

"Hey. Kid." Johnny's voice groaned as he was beaten up and cocooned himself with some bugs chewing at his flesh slowly

"Mr Cage!" she gasped

"Ah, you are awake." A demonic voice spoke

"Who's there?" Sam called

"Someone who should thank you. You saved my life." Quan Chi appeared, showing his stump of a hand.

"Quan Chi." he glared

"I didn't save your life." Sam answered, wanting to burn the cocoon away.

"Ah, but you did." he smirked "I'd you had not distracted your father, he would have cut my head off."

"Shit." Sam frowned, realising what this meant. She has accidentally fucked everything up

"I should also thank you, you've given us a new soldier in our armies." Quan Chi added

"Please, as if anyone here would fight for you." she scoffed

"You forget, my dear. I don't need your consent." Quan Chi answered.

"Whats... that supposed to mean?" she gulped

"It's easier controlling the dead than living individuals." Quan Chi responded. "I need to 'thank you' for my life."

"Hey, necro-breath. You touch her and you'll pay." Johnny called out, fighting back the pain from the bugs.

Quan Chi sighed heavily and turned to Johnny. "How? You haven't the strength."

"But I do." Bill glared from his cocoon behind the other twos, pushing against the material with all his strength

"Oh please. D'Vorah's material is much stronger than your robotic-"

SNAP!

"Err..." Quan Chi stammered as he heard the snap from the material, like it was made of glass.

"What was that?" Bill glared

"Where'd you get this guy?" Johnny asked

"He's my big brother." Sam smiled

SNAP!

"H-hnn! D'Vorah!" Quan Chi called out, seeing Bill freeze and snap the cocoon open only for a bladed fan to be pressed against Sam's neck

"If you move another inch I will slit her throat." the Revenant Kitanna ordered

Bill glared and halted his freeing, growling as he stopped breaking the cocoon.

"Damn. And I can't feel that silk wrapped beauty pushed against me because of this BS." Sam quipped

"... Seriously? Right now?" Johnny asked

"Are you a brain-dead slut? Or has my disgusting clone eaten your brains?" Revenant Kitana hissed.

"No, I find these lines fun." Sam smirked "Messing with stuck up bitches like you are hilarious. And no, if either of us have eaten, then I'm the one who ate your sister."

Kitana hissed at her almost wanting to slice Sam's face off... but she restrained herself. "Then you'll die with her." And walked off.

"Oh yeah, your sister defiantly has a better ass!" Sam called back mockingly

Kitanna froze at that, a flash of... Something appearing in her eyes before she walked away

"What's with the red fireworks?" Bill asked as he looked at the red light in the center of the cave

"My Lord Shinnok has corrupted and absorbed the Jinsei of Earthrealm. He is... unstoppable." Quan Chi answered

The Special Forces team, alongside Mileena's forces, Hanzo and Kuei Liang, where all serious as they approached the entry cave of the Sky Temple. They saw ninja from both the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Quei either wounded or dead in the ground, alongside armed soldiers. And at the entry of the cave was Sonya, who had deep gashes on her arms, as she was helping treat two heavily injured men. One was Kenshi, and the other was a dark skinned man with metal arms "Hnn. Sonya. Leave us." The dark-skinned man asked

"No way, Jax. Not an option." Sonya panted

"Dad?!" Jacquei gasped as she rushed forwards, soon at the man's side

"Jacqui." Jax grunted, almost falling onto the floor before his daughter caught him. "What're you-?"

"We came to help." She answered. "We're not leaving you to die!"

"Because looking at the sky, if we don't act soon, we are all going to." Takeda said sadly as he stood by his own fathers side

"Mum, hang on." Cassie spoke as she held her up.

"Your father. He's in there. We need to get in there." Sonya grunted, but still in great pain. As they looked in worry, a glowing green portal opened... As Kotal Khan's forces walked through

"Oh... You've got to be fucking kidding me." Jin frowned as he saw them.

"Maybe they're here to help?" Kenshi asked

"Yeah, I don't think so." Takeda answered

"Mileena! As expected, hiding with your new servants!" Kotal snarled

"Kotal, you damned fool. Can't you see we have bigger problems? Shinnok has taken over Earthrealm's Jinsei!" Mileena hissed

Kotal grew silent and looked to the sky, before he looked down with a dark look in his eyes "Very well then. It seems I have another reason to kill you then."

"Kotal, we don't have time for this!" Sonya answered. "If we don't-

"I will not listen. You have proven yourselves untrustworthy. And if my people are to survive, I will do what is necessary." Kotal answered

"Kahn's gone crazy!" Jin commented, pulling his bow ready.

"If I kill you, gaining Shinnok's favour, it will spear OutWorld his wrath for a time." Kotal continued

"YOU COWARD!" Mileena roared "You dishonourable COWARD! You are throwing away the lives of an entire Realm, sacrificing them, for what? A... Week of safety from Shinnok? A month? If he wins there is no safety. There is no hope. He will be all powerful. And he will claim every realms power to continue his battle with the Elder Gods. Instead of being an honourable warrior trying to actually save OutWorld, instead of charging into battle to TRY and have the hope that this will end in victory, you betray an ally and throw a realm to a shark so you can escape with your tail between your legs! You are not worthy of the title Khan... And you will not stop is from stopping Shinnok. "

Kotal's men all looked at Mileena and then at Kotal, hearing the truth in her words... What were they doing?

"You all hurry in and stop Shinnok. I've got enough fuel in the tank to deal with these bitches." Jax commented as he stood up

"You won't be alone either, my friend." Kenshi added

"Grandmasters, look after the kids and find Raiden. He will know what to do." Sonya ordered

"We will." Kuai Liang answered.

Mileena glared at Kotal, the group hurrying into the Sky Temple

'Hold on, Sam/Bill!' The group thought as they bolted with all haste. They soon arrived at the top, at the entry to the Sky Temple... Where dozens of people where standing there, waiting

Revenants

"Oh shit." Takeda gasped as he saw them.

Lui Kang, Kitanna, Kung Lao and others that the team hadn't met yet. There were four more.

One was a police officer wearing a SWAT issue body armour, a cadet hat, black jeans arm and shin-guards with a gun around his waist.

Next was a man wearing a skull-like mask with ventilator tubes sticking into his mouth, burning red eyes, burn marks all over his body from what they could see, long black hair, spiked bracers, padded clothes and cybernetic body-guards.

Next to the skull-faced man was a Lin Kuei fighter, wearing black and dark grey armour, plated guards and body armour with a dark blue tabard and metal boots.

Finally was a woman, black-haired, glowing eyes, wearing a scarf around her neck, a green bustier chest and body armour, edged with gold, gold and green bracers and shins, black leather on her arms and legs with a golden face mask; while holding a green bo staff.

"Jade?" Mileena gasped as she saw her.

"The monster." Jade responded

"Who's he?" Takeda asked the two grand masters, pointing at the Lin Quei warrior

"Smoke. A fellow Lin Kuei. He died when I was transformed." Kuai Liang answered "He was once my best friend."

"It's been a while... Kuai Liang." Smoke spoke darkly as he saw him.

"They kinda outnumber us." Jin gulped nervously.

"We can do it, My Khanum." Tanya said "Take Cassandra Cage and the Grandmasters through to the temple. Save Samantha and Earth Realm."

"We know you can do so." Skarlet nodded

"I noticed you didn't name us there." Kung Jin commented

"Because they knew we'd want to help them out." Jacqui nodded

"You guys won't have a chance to get there." The SWAT armoured man responded

Takeda smirked and slashed his arms, unleashing his whips at the four "Don't think about yourself too highly, Stryker."

"Fast kid." The skull-faced man spoke, before zipping around quickly and struck at Skarlet. "But can you keep up?" however the red head turned into blood, skipping around the masked man and slashing at his back "ARGH!"

"Do not judge us!" Skarlet hissed, slicing into his back.

"Let's go." the Scorpion ordered, the four rushing inside

"Should we go after them?" Kung Lao asked

"Leave them." Liu Kang answered. "They won't succeed."

"We have these four to deal with, after all." Kitanna agreed

"Who do you want first, Mistress?" Jade asked Kitana.

*inside the temple*

"Okay, now... which way?" Mileena whispered as she looked around.

"Didn't you rob from this place before?" Hanzo asked

"I didn't. Since Rain was a Demi-God he was able to sneak in, that s who we sent." Mileena flinched

"This way." Cassie said as a green mist left her hand for a moment "I don't know how to describe it but... I can almost feel my father coming from that way."

"Then lead the way, commander." Mileena answered as she followed

The four hurried off, heading towards the Jinsei temple. Through the tunnels, they could hear screaming, from someone being tortured and they hurried up

"Do not worry. This One will look after you. After all. You will Serve The Hive and Shinnok." D'Vorah's voice echoed in the halls.

*in the Jinsei Chamber*

Sam was screaming, being eaten alive by D'Vorah's insects while Bill and Johnny had to watch.

"You psycho bitch." Bill hissed

"Do not worry, This One will devour you as well." She answered as she ran a finger over Sam's jaw "However, This One wishes for her first."

Bill glared and was losing control, freezing the cocoon unintentionally.

Sam coughed out smoke, glaring "Your bugs are disgusting. But at least chard to a crisp they babe a good texture." she quipped "You gonna keep doing this? That's the fifth time I've melted them."

D'Vorah hissed at her, angered that her insects couldn't feast on her flesh. "Very well... Then This One will kill Cage."

"Awww~ but I thought you wanted me baby!" Sam shot back

"You are being uncooperative." She answered.

"Bitch, you don't know the least of it." Johnny commented

"Ha! nice one!" Sam laughed before she winked at D'Vorah "What's wrong slut, you don't want any of this?" she added, shaking her breasts mockingly

"Enough of this." Quan Chi snapped darkly. D'Vorah backed off, glaring right at Sam and Bill. While Quan Chi stepped forwards "D'Vorah that is enough 'entertaining' yourself. Our 'guests' will be here soon." he said simply

"Very well." She answered. "This One will see to them."

BOOM!

And the wall behind them suddenly exploded in ice and flames

"Get away from them, Quan Chi!" Hanzo glared

"Master/Dad!" Bill and Sam called out in joy as the sorcerer was taken surprise, Bill using this opening to break out of his prison

THUD!

And with the immediate landing, Bill raced and tackled Quan Chi.

"Raiden!" Sub Zero gasped as he spotted the fallen god

"Cassandra, you help him!" Mileena ordered as she hurried to free Sam

"Understood." Cassandra answered, running to get Raiden to stop Shinnok. She rushed over to the injured god

Sub Zero and Scorpion shared a look and nodded, the former enemies rushing at Shinnok "GET THE FUCK OVER HERE!" Scorpion roared as he threw his spear into the glowing red orb of Earth Realm's Jinsei, ripping the evil Elder God from the corrupted life force and revealing his monsterous mutation. As Shinnok was ripped out of the darkness and pulled towards them, Sub Zero summoning an ice hammer into the dark god

"Hey honey, how are you?" Sam asked as Mileena chipped away at the cacoon

"I should be asking you. That bitch will burn!" Mileena answered as she tried to break it off. Her sais dug into the cocoon, ripping it away

"We can do that together." Sam smiled "But first, give me a smiled beautiful. Please?"

Mileena froze for a moment at those words, looking at her

"You don't need that mask around me. Just one smile... please?" Sam smiled lovingly

"Okay." she nodded and removed her mask, smiling at Sam lovingly

"This One... has had enough." D'Vorah hissed angrily

Mileena turned around and glared evilly at D'Vorah. "I will have your head, insect!"

"You're skull will make a good trophy." Sam added, kicking away the last of D'Vorah's cocoon

"This One has no 'skull'." D'Vorah answered, shooting out four spider-like legs.

"Oh well." Sam shrugged, she and Mileena standing side by side, before rushing to battle

CRASH!

"ARGH!" Quan Chi grunted in pain as Bill slammed him into the ground.

"Raiden. Are you okay?" Cassie asked

"Cassandra Cage. No. I am not." Raiden groaned. The God of Lightning was bound in some of D'Vorah's disgusting webbing.

"... Hey, Raiden. Do you have the strength to do magic?" she smiled

"I should. Though I am afraid for EarthRealm. Shinnok has corrupted the Jinsei." Raiden explained weakly

"We can beat him once we get a second. But before then... We can save everyone. Just start undoing Quan Chi's spell." Cassandra Cage explained calmly, proud as she had realised this plan

"I believe I have enough strength to undo the spell." Raiden answered, freed of the cocoon and began to stand up.

Cassie nodded and she smirked, rushing at Quan Chi

Bill was punching away at the Wizard, his strength stronger than the sorcerers and with his stump of a hand, it was easier.

CRACK!
THUD!

Quan Chi grunted as he was lying bloody on the floor. "You. Are strong."

"Hey, Bill, watch out!" Cassie cheered as she dropped to her knees, gliding across the ground

Bill dodged out of the way, seeing Cassie shoot rapidly and efficiently at Quan Chi, riddling him with holes. He looked upon Cassie... and actually felt his heart thump a little louder than normal.

As Cassie slid to a stop in front of him, throwing her guns away... She gave a single, powerful punch to his dick

Quan Chi howled in pure agony as there was a 'crunch' and a 'pop

"Oof!" Bill winced as he heard the 'pop'. 'Damn, that...That was amazing.' He thought as he saw her and felt his human heart deep within the metal shell beat faster

Lightning sparked from Raiden's eyes as he finished his spell

*outside*

The Revenant's all yelled in pain, holding their heads as they fell to their knees

"What's going on?" Jin asked "What's happening?"

"Raiden." Jax answered confidently, seeing the Revanents transform back to normal people.

Stryker, Kabal, Jade, Kung Lao, Kitana, Liu Kang. They were all freed from Quan Chi's dark magic. As well as a woman behind then, Sindel, who's scream caught their attention since it was so loud

"Thank god. I was worried we were going to go deaf." Jacqui sighed in relief.

"You said it not me." Jin responded

"What?!" Takeda called as his ears hurt, the group looking at the former Revenant's

Skarlet's hands shook... Edenian Blood was right there. The forbidden fruits. She raised a hand, feeling the temptation fill her. Almost looking like a drug addict. Suddenly, a hand grabbed Skarlet's wrist. It was Tanya, shaking her head. Trying to act like a 'friend' and say 'don't do it.'. She gently lowered Skarlet's arm, the intimate caring air between them clear

*back at the battle*

Quan Chi was on the floor, still crying in the complete and utter agony he was in

"You're finished. No more magic. No more bullshit." Cassie spoke, aiming her gun at his head... Before she smirked "Hey Bill, you wanna get a bit Fatal?"

"Allow me." Bill smiled, grabbing Quan Chi's staggered body... and impaled his claws through his body to prop him up. He lifted Quan Chi off the ground by his claws, which where digging slowly upwards... before Bill pulled his arms in two different directions

Quan Chi as he had large gashes on the side of his torso, his arms being slashed apart at the upper arm. Bill grabbed him by those stumps and squeezed, slowly freezing his flesh as he forced the Sorcerer down to his knees

Quan Chi's screams slowly faded as his body was encased in a layer of ice, which was when Bill finished it. He released the stumps and started stamping, one stomp going down and shattering his left arm off his body completely. A second getting rid of the right arm. He then brought his legs across in a powerful sweep which shattered his legs

Quan Chi's torso fell to the floor, before Bill brought his foot down onto the frozen skull. He didn't crush it right away though, just a little bit to form cracks... as he slammed his hand down into his torso, his hand coming back up clutching Quan Chi's spine with that movement shattering the rest of Quan Chi's frozen body

Cassie's eyes widened as she saw that... and her heart seemed to flutter. Time slowed for her as she looked at Bill. This giant of a man, clad in frozen armour... she felt something towards him. He stood there heroically, the deep red lights of the room reflecting on his form

Bill stood there, looking over the corpse of Quan Chi and panted... he had killed him. For the first time since he had come back properly.
The first murder he had chosen to do
He panted gently before looking at Cassie... almost falling to his knees.

"Are you okay?" Cassie asked

"I. Urgh... phew... I'm. I'll be alright." He responded, the weight of it hitting him.

"Rest for now." she nodded, leaving him next to Raiden

"Thanks. Guess I'm not used to killing yet." Bill responded, sitting next to the deity.

"I'll help the Grandmaster's against Shinnok." she nodded with a smile "I owe you a drink."

"Yeah. I'd like that drink." He answered. She nodded, winking, before rushing off to join the fight. Towards the monsterous dragon man that Shinnok had become

The Widow jumped, rolling in the air as she passed a stumbling Mileena. The Khanum had been struck in the gut by D'Vorah and stumbled back, the bug woman smirking, only for Sam's chain to wrap around her neck. As the Widow landed behind D'Vorah, her heels digging into the dirt, she tightened her grip and pulled as hard as she could

The chain turned taunt and tightened around D'Vorah's throat, making her begin to cough and gasp for air as she was roughly slammed onto her back

"This. Is for lying to me." Sam glared, forcing D'Vorah to beg. "For my Kahnum. And for pissing me off!" She raised a heeled boot and lowered it, pushing the tip of it against the bug's skull "Come on, say it." Sam hissed, hearing the cracking of the exoskeleton under her heel "SAY IT!"

D'Vorah's gasping breath was shallow, the throttling was only loose enough to say what needed to be said "This-This O-One is s-sorry! P-Please! Please! Mercy!"

Sam glared down, knowing what 'This One' was capable of... And set her on fire. She gave a powerful yank that forced D'Vorah into the air, before Sam pulled her mask down. She took a deep breath before she roared, letting out a literal INFERNO!

D'Vorah screamed as she was set on fire, trying to crawl away as Sam just followed and kept up the blaze for a few more moments

Sam stopped the flames, D'Vorah being a black burnt crispy shell... but still alive

D'Vorah was whimpering and crying in pain as she tried to crawl away... and Sam slammed her foot down, stomping THROUGH D'Vorah's exoskeletal ass and hips, before she looked up at Mileena

"For you, my Empress." she bowed, offering the killing blow, as D'Vorah continued to shriek

"Thank you. My Love." Mileena smiled, stabbing both Sai into D'Vorah's head and heart. Severing the insect's life from the living world. She twisted one sai, breaking D'Vorah's head off, before bringing it towards her face. Mileena opened her mouth wide and bit down, ripping flesh from D'Vorah's head... and spat it out "Even when extra crispy, she is still disgusting."

"Yeah, bugs of any colour are still disgusting." Sam commented. "... No offense to the nice-looking ones or spiders, obviously."

"I see a beautiful spider just before me." Mileena smiled, taking Sam's hand in hers as she took a step forward. She let their foreheads touch, one hand resting on Sam's hip softly, as she entangled her fingers with Sam's own "the most beautiful Spider I have ever seen. A Spider I want to make mine and mine alone, forever."

"Easy my Empress, you haven't even bought me a drink yet." Sam teased, her free hand brushing Mileena's cheek. Her fingers slid across the soft skin while almost touching her teeth, showing no fear of them. The first person to now show fear or revulsion of the woman's fangs besides her own father "I know I can be a bit fast and easy, but even I have standards before that level of commitment."

"Widow. Please shut up." Mileena asked

"Is that an order?" Sam grinned

"No. But this is. Kiss me." yellow eyes met green, topaz sparking like stars as they looked into the shimmering love filled emeralds

"As you command." Sam smiled and kissed Mileena deeply

They didn't even notice the battle behind them was over, nor the two Grandmaster's dragging Raiden into the Jinsei in hopes of cleansing it. Everything was ignored, except each other.

They didn't notice as the red room turned blue, or when the others arrived. Sonya, Jax, Kenshi, Jin, Takeda, Jacquie, Skarlet, Tanya and the former Revenant's all entering the room together

But Sam and Mileena where too absorbed in their soft meeting of lips to realise

"What the...?" Jax asked in shock.

"Told you, Dad." Jacqui answered

"Huh?" Sam blinked as the two broke the kiss, finally noticing the others

"So. Finally found someone other than my daughter?" Sonya remarked

"Well several someone's." Sam smiled as Skarlet and Tanya took their place besides the Widow and Mileena "And Cassie is still hot so if she was interested..."

"Strong nope." Cassie said as she causally leaned against Bill's metal shoulder

"I'm. Um. Yeah." Bill chuckled nervously

"Si-Sister?" Mileena stuttered as she saw the recovered Revenants

"Mileena?" Kitana whispered as she saw her and Mileena began to cautiously walk towards the Edinian Princess

Mileena gulped nervously as she saw her... Sister. Hopefully, she would accept her now "Sister?" she repeated, hopefully

"Hello... Sister." Kitana sighed heavily, looking at her with a little more politeness making everyone gasp

"Did she just-?" Kung Lao asked

"She did." Liu Kang nodded

Mileena's eyes widened and immediately hugged Kitana, never thinking she would hear those words. Mileena was crying in joy, hugging her tightly

Tanya smiled as she saw the two sisters finally united after all these years.

Raiden emerged from the Jinsei, looking completely drained "Urgh..."

"Whoa, easy Raiden. I gotcha." Johnny spoke, he and Cassie carrying him.

"Lord Raiden." Lui Kang frowned and bowed in respect alongside Kung Lao

"Liu Kang. Kung Lao. You... you have returned. You're alive again." Raiden looked upon the two in relief and joy.

"Lord Raiden, we're sorry for what we did as Revenants. What we did cannot be forgiven." Kung Lao apologised

"It doesn't matter now." Raiden spoke calmly as he saw his pupils. "You're all safe now." He smiled gently and then he pulled them into a hug

"This... This is nice." Bill whispered and nodded, turning to Sam. "Where's the bug?"

"Dead. Burned to a crisp." She answered

"Good." he nodded

"So err... Did we win?" Sam asked, before Bill pushed her.

"Go hug your girlfriend." Bill sighed gently.

"Right." Sam nodded and hugged Tanya

...

"I mean the other one." Bill deadpanned

"Oh, right." Sam nodded and hugged Skarlet

...

"Not what I meant."

Sam just chuckled and went to Cassie.

"Don't even think about it." Cassie and Bill deadpanned

"You two are so similar." she smiled and walked away from them, towards Mileena. Mileena chuckled as she hugged Sam and her sister. Feeling... whole. In a sense.

"Hey, do these guys look different to you?" Sonya asked Jax, noticing how the revived people where not only wearing different outfits to what they had died in. And the humans where... Older

"Aside from Kitana? Yeah. They look...Different." Jax nodded as he noted them. "You don't think they've caught up with us?"

Sonya nodded, looking at them all curiously

"You think this is Shinnok or Quan Chi's bullshit?" Jacqui asked

"Jacqui, language." Jax commented as he saw how Lui Kang and Kung Lao had changed

Kung Lao was wearing a red gi with blue edges, dark blue trousers with black boots and bracers, his hat was black with a razor-sharp silver edge and a blue sash around his waist.

Liu Kang was wearing brown bracers and boots, tiger-striped trousers and a dark black gi with a red and white striped tie around his head.

Stryker was wearing a dark blue and black SWAT uniform with dark red trousers and black boots with black fingerless gloves...and a backwards baseball cap for some reason.

Kabal was wearing more blood-splattered red clothes than before, still wearing his dark silver mask and dreadlocks

All four of them had greying hair to different levels, Liu Kang for example now having almost completely silver hair

And speaking of 'silver hair', next was Sindel. The busty woman wearing a dark purple bustier leotard with black vine-like detail, long silvery hair with a black streak, black eyes, black boots with purple shin-guards and a DD-Cup chest. And between her boots and leotard? Some fishnets

"I think so, Jade." Kitanna nodded as she broke the hug

"Hi. You're Queen Sindel, right?" Sam asked as she pulled back as well "I'm Sam. I'm Mileena, your daughters... Let's go with girlfriend."

"I have... a second daughter?" Sindel asked confused before she recalled who Mileena was... and what Shao Kahn did when was revived by Quan Chi's magic. "Her girlfriend?"

"Yes... Mother?" Mileena nodded with a smile, her mask down as she looked down in slight fear

Sindel didn't say a word... she just looked at her.

"Huh?" Mileena asked as she saw the hand on her shoulder.

"Hello, Mileena. I'm Sindel." She spoke politely.

Mileena snuffed, hugging her tightly

"A lot has happened Kuie Liang." Smoke commented

"A lot has happened, Smoke. Welcome back." Sub-Zero spoke respectfully and patted his back "We have a LOT of explaining to do."

*time skip, several months later*

Sam yawned happily as she awoke in her queen sized bed back at the fire garden and in said 'queen-sized bed' were a naked Mileena, Tanya and Skarlet. "Hmm~." She smiled happily. She stretched lightly, letting the covers fall from her body. A lot had happened in the last four months since the battle with Shinnok... Like the Squad being unofficially disbanded. It wasn't all bad and it wasn't on bad terms.
Takeda and Jacqui had gotten together, which meant they spent some time in the Fire Garden.
There was a lot less of Jin's comments, which was always a good thing.
And Sam had to admit, it was partially her fault for the team disbanding. Since... Mileena

Oh boy the political drama that happened right after Shinnok's defeat

Since Mileena was still alive, there was a huge upset in Outworld, since Kotal Kahn was out for her blood. Luckily they had Hanzo, Sonya, Kuei Liang... As well as Sindel and Kitanna. It turns out; having the consort and 'daughter' of Shao Kahn was a huge bonus on Earthrealm's side. Especially when defending their family, and when they had discovered about how Kotal was keeping Edinia within OutWorld

Liu Kang and Kung Lao were relearning and refining their fighting styles. Being dead did a number on their exercise. They were the new head monks or the Xialon temple, atoning for their sins

As for Jade? Well, she was getting used to not being dead again and catching up time with Kitana. Especially since she was apparently in a relationship with Kotal before she died, and seeing what he was like... It was hard to see the man she loved turn into such a hardened version of himself. He wasn't as bad as Shao Kahn in wanting to conquer all the Realms... But to see him sacrifice many just for his own kingdom, she was not happy about it and so she left him

"Hmm~." Sam stretched out gently as she left the bed...leaving a sleeping Tanya, Mileena and Skarlet in the bed. She slipped out of bed, naked as the day she was born, and walked into the bathroom. She sat down on the stool and started to wash, humming as she did. A few of the Japanese traditions her father had taught her where rather weird, in her opinion, but scrubbing before going into the bath to relax? Oh she loved that one

Especially as they saved so much on the heating bill

With her cleaning done, Sam slipped into the tub. The second her big toe touched the water, it instantly started heating up "Ah~, heated to perfection." She teased and praised herself. She sat back and relaxed, her eyes slowly closing. Life with those three was... Different. It wasn't wild in the sense of a one night stand like she was used too... it was more stable. More... Deep and passionate "Hmm~." She sighed happily and relaxed, slipping more into the water.

"You relaxed?" Tanya asked as she opened the door

"Hey, I didn't wake you did I?" Sam responded as she turned around in the water

"No." she assured

"Did you sleep well?" Sam asked

"Like a babe. Do you have enough room in there?" Tanya responded

"It's big enough for all four of us." Sam shrugged lightly

"Then budge up." Tanya smiled, stripping off and slid into the water.

"Like the heat?" Sam asked her fellow pyromancer

"Ah~, yes. Perfect. Heat it yourself?" Tanya teased as she began to relax after waking up.

"Yep." Sam smiled at her dark skinned lover

"Wonderful. I have to ask... did you ever think we'd be together?" Tanya asked

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean, with everything that's happened before. I didn't think we'd find a home or care." Tanya answered

"Honestly. I think we would've. Call me crazy, but... I am glad we're all together." Sam answered

"Really?"

"Yeah. I am." Sam responded. "I love you all with my heart. And you know I can fit a few more things in." She joked.

"Such as~?" Tanya questioned

"Well, that cute Jade lady. She was playful." Sam chuckled

"Oh, her?" Tanya frowned slightly

"Why? What's wrong with Jade?" Sam inquired, genuinely concerned

"Nothing. I guess you could call it a rivalry is all." Tanya explained. Sam gave a silent 'ah' and nodded, swimming in the bath to warm the remaining water. She kissed along Tanya's arm, grinning softly "Sa~m. It's still early." Tanya cooed

"Never stopped us before." She continued as Sam pulled back and began to slip out of the bathtub

"Dry as you step out. Not many can say that." Tanya chuckled

"True." Sam smirked as she began to get dressed in the now empty bedroom "... We weren't in there long; were we?" Sam wondered. 'I thought they were still asleep.' as Tanya continued to soak "Ah well. They're probably getting breakfast." She shrugged and got dressed. She sat down on her bed, pulling her long orange boots up her legs as she hummed "Ah~, perfect." She smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror and posed

Sam was now wearing a black and orange loose robes, long thigh high boots with a sash depicting a spider around it. It was certainly more casual than her old gear, which was to be expected admittedly

"I see you're wearing your new clothes." Mileena commented as the Khanum stood there wearing some earth Realm fashion. A tight magenta pink tube top, a black leather jacket and tight leather pants.

"Same as yours... you look great." Sam smiled as she saw her. "Oh, good morning."

"Morning." Mileena laughed and kissed her "Today is the day."

"Yeah. Today's the day." She nodded and hugged her.

"You ready?" Mileena asked softly

"Yeah. I'm ready to see my brother again." Sam nodded as she held her hand.

"We should head out."

Sam nodded and led the way, going to the hospital. They left, heading into the Fire Garden and seeing its beauty. It was a beautiful and wondrous sight, they were home. In a sense to the Outworld group

The cherry blossoms fell around them beautifully

"You wouldn't see a sight like this in Outworld." Tanya whispered with a smile.

"Hey, when did you get out of the bath?" Sam laughed

"Shush." She responded and walked with her. "... But to answer your question, shortly after you. You took a long while."

"I don't." Sam blushed and mumbled in embarrassment

"Sam. I'm teasing you. It's fine." Tanya kissed her. "Come on, I'm sure they're waiting."

We arrive at a hospital, where Cassie Cage was waiting with her mother and father. It was a military hospital and lab and laying on a table was Bill, wires attached all over his mechanical body

"It's been over twenty hours." Cassie whispered as she waited.

Bill had been there for a while, his body... Not reacting as all

"Cass, you told us this guy was tough; right?" Johnny spoke up.

"Yes, he is." She nodded

"Then he will be fine." Sonya encouraged

"I hope so." Cassie whispered, her mouth covered by her folded hands as the others began to arrive

"We haven't missed anything, did we?" Sam asked as she saw them.

"No." Cassie assured

"He's not asleep on the table still, is he?" Sam asked

"He's still under, yeah." Cassie answered

"Darn." Jacquei sighed

"Damn it, Bill. Why're you such a heavy sleeper?" Sam muttered.

"He's not. He's often up at the same time as me each morning." Cassie answered

Suddenly the door next to them opened... And a man walked in "Urgh... What a nap..." The man groaned making everyone look at him in shock. There, standing over seven feet tall, black haired with icy blue eyes, wearing a plain shirt and loose trousers with hospital slippers, was Bill "... Hi there." He smiled gently.

"B-Bill?" Sam asked in shock and confusion

Bill looked down at Sam and patted her head. "Guess I can finally see you with my own eyes again."

"I... But..." Jin blinked in confusion looking between Bill and Bill's robotic body

"Clone." Bill pointed to himself "My real body was too... yeah." He sighed heavily "Most of my head, my brain, my eyes and my heart. All that was left. So... Cloned body they grew. And for the past twenty hours my mind and soul was transferred."

"Jesus." The group whispered as that whole thing was terrifying for him.

"But now... I've got to get used to this 'new' body again." Bill added.

"And it's a good one." Cassie flirted

Bill blushed as he heard that, nervous that he and Cass were openly flirting in front of her... ass-kicking parents.

"Hey, I do think that I promised you a stick of gum." Cassie commented

"Yes! Yes, you did!" Bill immediately answered, Cassie looping her arm around him and lead him away.

"Hey, now wait a minute." Johnny called out.

Cassie smiled as she pulled out a stick of gum, sliding it into her mouth

"What?" Bill blinked in confusion and she chewed lightly... And then Casa grabbed him and pulled Bill into a deep kiss. Which was a little difficult to do, due to the height difference.

Johnny's jaw dropped to the floor, while the others nudged and smiled... which Sam was happy to see her 'brother' finally get the girl. Also...

"I taught her this." Sam giggled a bit

"Huh?" Mileena blinked

"There you go." Cassie smirked as she broke the kiss, no more gum in her mouth

Bill hiccuped gently as he now had the gum in his mouth... And blew a bubble.

"That's it! Get here, Bill!" Johnny grabbed Bill by the shoulder...? and pulled him away

"AH! SOMEONE HELP!" he yelled

"Daddy! Leave him alone!" Cassie yelled lightly

"Nope! Daddy pants are coming on!" Johnny answered... and felt his hand freezing. "GAH!"

Sam laughed softly from the background, smiling proudly and happily

"Sorry! I'm sorry!" Bill apologised, before he and Johnny began to fight.

"Ah~, it's just like me and Johnny." Sonya chuckled.

"Ew, mum!" Cassie groaned

Sam couldn't help but chuckle as she felt Skarlet hug her

"Is this what you'd call 'a happy ending'?" Skarlet whispered to her.

"I think so, Red." Sam smiled and kissed her gently

*elsewhere*

We arrive... in a dark cave. There were sounds. Sounds of lightning coming from within.

Sounds of anguish and pain.

The sounds of chains rattling against stone and flesh.

Ragged coughing spluttered out as the light of the lightning illuminated the cave.

Chained in the corner of the room... was a deeply wounded and captured Shinnok

"Y-You wear... my amulet well... Raiden. You see now. The truth... that the Elder Gods deny you." Shinnok grunted coughing up blood.

"Silence, Shinnok!" the thunder god snarled. Raiden turned around, his eyes sparking with red lightning, his clothes had changed from their regular blue and brown to black. His whole kind demeanour was gone. He was fueled with rage. Rage, hate and darkness

"That's right. All the hate. But you can't kill me." Shinnok coughed as Raiden zapped him again "GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"

"I said silence, Shinnok!" Raiden snarled "I have not seen your 'truth'! I have just had enough of those taking advantage of Earth Realm!"

"You. Can't. Kill an Elder God." Shinnok wheezed in pain.

"No... But there are things that are much worse." Raiden answered darkly... and decapitated the Elder God, rendering him unable to die, but unable to live either. Growing out of his hand was a massive red lightning blade, which he gave one sleek slash of his arm

One head falling to the floor and rolling away, blood pouring out of the removed head. Shinnok's still living head was gasping in pain, trying to breathe but couldn't. Still alive, but hopeless, motionless. Living while dead. A fate far worse than death

Raiden reached down and grabbed his head, lifting it up "You will be my message. To everyone. They will never invade Earthrealm." he snarled. He wrapped Shinnok's head in a knapsack and carted it off. Kotal Kahn will know what will happen should he cross the line.

The battle had ended
