Days and days passed by as my breaths increased how by much I had run through these woods. The Trees were surrounding me like i was being trapped in by their branches. Deeper as I went the woods seemed too far from any civilization. Then , I ran into something. It was a walker , yes of course is is. Though , it was feasting on to something. A deer as it looked liked from the guts hanging out as the walker dug it's hands back back into it's exposed rib cage.
I have no idea how many days it's been since I was separated from my family. Days? Weeks? Hell , the days have been going by as fast as paint dries on the walls in my room back at the farm. They had painted them a creamy peach color that I always seemed to hate for some reason. But , no Greene has ever survived death. My Mother and Shawn would attest to that. I remember seeing Momma come out of the barn and having my skin feel so white; thin as ice.
"Let's get a deer for tonight's feat , aye?" A man spoke to his companion as they aimlessly walked through the forests floor.
Knelling down I tried to stay out of sight behind a tree away from them. It seemed that i made the bushes movel too much and they stopped. I hope to god they don't find me. God? There ain't much of god's work in this day and age.
The footsteps inched closer as so did the grip on my knife did. They were so close yet so far a few minutes ago. How could I mess up like that? Being with people only brings pain and hardship...
"Jimmy..What are you doing?" I looked over his shoulder and he was drawing Nelly.
"Just thought I'd make her not seem so nervous in fiction I suppose," He continued while seeming not to bothered by my presence.
I looked around and everything was quiet. The slight buzzing you'd hear on any summer day. Then , I looked back at Shawn and his skin was decaying as his lifeless body covered in his own blood.
"Beth! What did you do?" Maggie was cell shocked by the scene of Shawn on the ground lifeless. I had stabbed my brother. It wasn't out of any held up anger , but simply he had been bitten. Where was he bitten? His abdomen. During the day his skin would only get paler. So vividly I remember him coughing up blood multiple times while he worked outside.
"Maggie , It had to be done-" the impact that I felt by my own sister's hand was there. Maggie had never slapped me. It all seemed to surreal that someone you know would never lay a hand on you out of any ill content , would.
"It didn't and you had no right to do that. You could've atleast.." It was like she was shutting down. I know what killing a person is like. And that was the only time I ever did it. Vowing to myself that I would never let anyone get too close in any regard.
Having to hold my breath wasn't a big deal now a days. But when you feel like you're being cornered uuhhh not so much.
"Put you knife down , Girlie" The man's voice was rough and it didn't leave a great first impression either. "And why should I?" The other man brought the gun below under neck my neck."Because I could kill you right here." I put down my knife. The man motioned to the other man with disheveled hair and as greasy as grease on a fryer to tie my hands behind my back.
