Author's Note:

I love this episode so much, the action is incredible and honestly no action scene I've seen since this episode has been topped. John Wick has nothing on this episode. This episode makes his fight scenes look like a petty slap fight.

Chapter 17- Spiral

"Were you going to say Bumblebee?" Ruby asked.

Yang nodded, unashamed. "Yeah I was."

"She didn't really look like an angel." Weiss commented.

"Come on, the lights shining through the window?" Yang asked.

"I think you're confusing the word 'Angel' with 'Badass.'" Nora giggled.

"Tex is a badass but she deserves more than just one word to describe how amazing she is." Yang explained. "Ruby always had heroes from fairy tales to look up to but I never really cared that much."

Ruby cheekily gasped in shock.

Yang laughed, "I know you know Ruby, anyway Tex is more of a hero to me than any actual fairy tale hero."

"That's a little much." Weiss cringed.

"She's a badass fighter who rides motorcycles and punches guys in the balls. What better hero could I have?" Yang asked.

"Well when you put it like that I can understand why she'd be your hero." Weiss grimaced.

Ruby groaned, "This show has been a bad influence on her."

Yang smirked, "I learned no no words and what sex is." She mocked.

Ruby shook her head, "The woman from, 'The Warrior in the Woods' is a better role model." She mumbled.

"Spiral" appeared on the screen with the theme.

"Hmm, a downward spiral?" Blake mumbled.

"Maybe." Ren mumbled back.

Fade into Blood Gulch. Church walks up to Tex, who is working on Sheila. Tank noises are being made.

Tex: "(muttering) ugh, damn it. (sighs)"

Church: "Still won't start huh?"

Tex: "No. But it's getting there.

"Ohh Tex is a mechanic on top of everything else." Yang grinned.

"Yay.. more reasons to love the bad role model." Weiss murmured with contempt.

"No role model I pick could be worse than our uncle Qrow, and Ruby based her weapon off his." Yang jammed a thumb in Ruby's direction.

"Uncle Qrow is awesome!" Ruby defended. "..most of the time."

Church: "Did you uhh... try checking the starter?"

Tex: "(sarcastically) Oh, what a brilliant idea. Next you're gonna' ask me if I tried the keys."

"Tex is better at being sarcastic now, she once sounded so serious about being Agent Nevada I thought she was telling the truth." Ren commented, "Only for a short time."

"Is Nevada even a state.. does it even matter to us." Jaune asked.

"Maybe and no." Blake answered.

"It kind of does, the states names are all freelancers." Nora pointed out.

"It would be interesting to know all fifty freelancer's names." Ren added.

"The song that played when Tex was fighting Wyoming and Maine started listing states." Weiss pointed out, "After this episode we can listen to it."

"Great idea." Ren and Yang chorused.

Church: "You have keys?"

Tex: "No."

Church: "How do you know so much about vehicles?"

Tex: "Well, during the training. We had to learn to care for our equipment. Plus, I've always liked cars."

Yang grinned, "Me too.. sometimes I'm like Ruby, but not nearly as bad."

"Dad says you were." Ruby raised a finger.

"Dad says a lot of things." Yang groaned.

"I suppose we're all enthusiastic about something." Pyrrha shrugged. "I love the thrill of the fight, especially a challenge."

"Good luck finding one." Weiss gave her a curtsied nod

Pyrrha smiled and bowed her head, "Thank you but it's not hard, the invincible girl is only a title."

"One well earned." Ren countered.

Church: "Uhh... training huh? Was that before…"

Tex: "Before what? Before I was killed? Before you brought me back as, whatever I am now?"

"So Tex does remember! Yes!" Yang cheered.

"They're finally addressing what happened in the finale." Blake smiled.

"Finally." Yang mock groaned.

Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose, "Ignoring her, what is she now?"

"Epsilon Tex." Yang answered to Weiss's dismay. "Just like the Alpha purged the original- or I guess Beta Tex from itself. Epsilon Church made Epsilon Tex."

Nora put her head in her hands, "Ugh why are Church and Tex so confusing! There's like three versions of each!"

Ruby counted on her fingers and nodded, "Yeah you're right. The director, Alpha and Epsilon. Then Allison, Beta and Epsilon-Tex."

Nora frowned, "Oh that's it? Not that complicated nevermind."

Church: "Oh. You know about that?"

Tex: "Well, of course I do. I know what you know. You made me."

"She has his memories?" Nora asked.

"I don't think it's that literal." Ren replied.

Church: "Well...no, not me."

Tex: "Whatever. Him."

"But he did make her? Or at least this version." Ruby frowned.

"She probably means her in general, the original tex… who is the memories Alpha had of Allison." Jaune explained.

Nora groaned, "I was wrong.. it's still confusing."

"Does Tex seem different to any of you? Nicer?" Yang asked.

"She just shot Lopez, no." Weiss shook her head.

Yang shook her head, "That's not what I meant.. she's less insulting and in general not as mean."

"I don't see it." Weiss shook her head.

"Me neither." Ruby nodded.

Yang shrugged, "Nevermind."

"If you see a difference." Ren started, "Do you think it could be that Beta and Epsilon Tex are different?"

Yang pursed her lips, "Maybe?"

Ren nodded, "I think it may just be a difference in the writing, the only serious moments from Tex before season eight were when she died the first time, and when she left in the Pelican."

"Now it happens a lot." Yang nodded.

Church: "Why did he do it? I...don't even remember when you first came around, you were just...kinda' there one day. It was like uhh... a training session or something like that."

"How does he remember that?" Jaune asked.

Nora shrugged, Ruby gasped, "Remember what he said at the end of season eight! In the memory unit he is the Alpha!"

Ren's eyes widened, "That was literal?"

"He could just remember more in the unit." Jaune suggested.

Ruby shrugged, "Well uh it is Epsilon's head, A.K.A Church's."

Nora nodded, "Remember how they would go in Caboose's head?"

Ruby snorted, "Caboose's and Church's head are really different."

"Church fixed his poor memory." Blake added.

Nora began to giggle, Pyrrha glanced at her and chuckled. "I'm sure Caboose still sees Sarge as a pirate."

Nora's giggle turned into full blown laughter.

"I still like his version of Church the best." Yang grinned.

Ruby grimaced, "He cusses like Qrow."

Tex: "(sighs) Yeah, Wyoming and Maine. Big dummies."

"She almost sounds sad.. nostalgic." Blake added.

"She doesn't even mind that they tried to kill her." Yang laughed. "They're just big dummies."

"Maine especially." Nora giggled.

Church: "Well, why did he bring you back?"

Tex: "You know what Church, I don't know? You tell me. He didn't exactly ask me what I wanted, I just kinda' came along for the ride, I didn't get a vote."

"The sub-text is that she's accusing him too." Blake mumbled.

Yang nodded, "Yeah, Church did the same thing in season eight."

"To handle all the things he couldn't." Ruby murmured.

"I wonder if the director was the same way." Pyrrha added. "From his speech in season six, he almost couldn't handle her being gone."

"I don't think he could handle it, Church and the director seem so different, it's hard to see them as the same person." Jaune commented.

Ren frowned, "Well there are some reasons for that, the director is a human and Church is an A.I."

"I think it goes deeper than that, the director can't purge the memory of Allison. But the Alpha could, and Tex was very important to both of them. Without her, they're different people." Blake explained.

"That's really sad when you think about it." Nora sagged.

Ruby sniffled a tiny bit, not enough to make her eyes wet. Barely noticeable. "Yeah.." What would I be like if Mom was here? What would Yang be like if her mom never left. Ruby grimaced and shook the thoughts from her mind.

Church: "But you were there when Alpha was there. Nobody else was."

Tex: "I don't know. What can I say? I guess we were inseparable."

"I wonder if that's where the memories of Tex being his girlfriend come from. They could have easily been in a simulated world." Ruby commented.

Jaune nodded, "Yeah, and Tex could be Tex in there. Cheating and stealing money from his wallet."

Yang burst out laughing, "Tex is terrible sometimes."

"Most times." Weiss corrected.

Sheila suddenly activates.

Tex: "There you go! Tank's fixed! See what happens when you treat something right?"

Church: "Yeah. Yeah, as a matter of fact I think I do."

"Hmm, wonder what he means by that." Yang hummed.

"That he'll treat her right?" Blake raised an eyebrow.

Yang snickered, "No.. well maybe. Treating her 'right' would mean to stop depending on her to handle all his problems."

"And to let her leave if she wants." Blake added. "His abandonment issues have caused her enough pain."

"Ugh relationship advice." Nora grimaced.

Ooo relationship advice. Jaune thought eagerly.

"I don't think 'abandonment issues' is the right term." Pyrrha frowned. "She died."

Blake grimaced and nodded, "He mourns her even though she is alive again."

"That's better." Yang nodded.

Fade in to Maine carrying a white suitcase back to Team A's Warthog.

Carolina: "Nice work Maine."

Maine: "Thanks."

Blake grimaced slightly, "His voice is so gravelly and deep, it fits him too well."

Weiss grimaced fully, it would also fit the maniac with the chainsaw sword. No matter how cruelly Maine or the Meta uses their weapon. Nothing will compare to that aura breaker, it was designed to tear through aura. An image flashed in her mind of the White Fang lieutenant holding her down with his foot and using his chainsaw to rip her aura apart. Weiss sucked in a breath and pushed the image away before her aura broke.

York: "Yeah, subtle as always. Response team is probably on the way."

Carolina: "Let's get the hell out of here."

Nora giggled, "Pyrrha said hell."

Pyrrha chuckled, "Not me."

York: "Hold on!"

York drives the Warthog down the highway, swiftly passing by several random cars. Two Insurrection Hornets are in pursuit.

"There's the response team, a little late." Weiss Commented.

"Too little too late." Yang added with a smirk.

"Yeah that turret is going to rip them to shreds." Ruby's eyes widened.

"Or the other way around! The hornets have rockets!" Nora shouted. "This is going to be so cool, I've been waiting for this since the trailers."

Yang nodded, "The hornets remind me of bullheads, it's the placement of the thrusters." She pointed to the hornet wings.

York: "Comin' through! Excuse me! Look out!"

Yang laughed, "I do that too."

"Drive dangerously, ignoring traffic laws?" Ruby accused, raising her eyebrows.

"...no.."

Ruby made an 'I'm watching you' gesture at Yang.

Carolina: "Here they come!"

"Spiral" by Jeff Willims starts to play.

The Hornets close in on Team A. Carolina begins to fire the warthog's turret at the hornets as Three Insurrection soldiers (The muscular sleeveless soldier, The sniper, and girlie) with jetpacks hop off their Hornets and flank the Warthog.

"This is so cool! A fight scene and a chase scene in one!" Ruby grinned, eye's wide.

Nora nodded, eyes equally wide. "I know I know!"

York: "Behind us!"

Carolina fires at the soldiers, the sleeveless soldier hides behind a moving truck for cover.

Jaune laughed, "That's great, they're having a shootout too."

"Somehow using cover while going full speed down a highway." Weiss added.

"Like a stationary firefight, but moving." Nora flourished.

Ren chuckled, "Exactly."

As Team A battles two of the Insurrection soldiers,

the Sniper Soldier speeds ahead and takes aim on a truck in front of Team A. The other two Insurrectionists continue to fire.

Ruby jumped in her seat, "He has a sniper and a jetpack! That's so cool! ...but he loses cool points for using a laser sight. That's just lame."

"Against Grimm it wouldn't matter if you used one." Jaune pointed out.

Ruby grinned, "Yeah but I don't need one."

Carolina: "Maine! Protect the briefcase!"

Maine notices a sniper laser pointing at Carolina's spine and looks behind him. The sniper fires a shot at Carolina, but Maine intercepts the shot, causing it to hit his chest and render him unconscious.

Pyrrha's eyes widened, "He took the bullet for her!"

"But why?" Nora gasped, "He's evil!"

Ruby and Jaune nodded.

"He will be." Ren corrected. "He isn't now."

"He threw a grenade at Tex in a training spar." Ruby pointed out. "That's evil!"

"Evil is a stretch." Blake pursed her lips, "Bad? Sure."

"He was just following orders." Weiss explained. "It's easy to forget but in the end the Freelancer's are soldiers. Not mercenaries."

Ruby huffed, "Doesn't make what he did any better."

"No it doesn't." Jaune agreed. "He's still brutal when he doesn't need to be."

"Despicable." Pyrrha growled.

Carolina: "Maine? Sniper!"

A sniper bullet whizzes past Carolina's head, impacting into the turret. Cut to Tex riding on her motorcycle being pursued by some Insurrectionists in Warthogs. Tex narrowly avoids the chaingun rounds and swerves around in slight slow-mo. She grabs her Rocket Launcher and shoots the Warthog.

"Woo!" Yang cheered. "That was amazing!"

Nora nodded, "I know! She's really making a motorcycle/rocket-launcher combo look like a good idea."

"So far we've only seen Tex be a complete badass fighting, now she's fighting and riding a motorcycle." Yang leaned back. "She somehow topped herself."

A Warthog crashes into a civilian car.

Ruby, Pyrrha, and Jaune who noticed, winced.

Tex: "Gotcha!"

She spots the Hornets chasing Team A. She jumps off a ramp, fires her rocket at the Hornet and throws the rocket launcher away.

"Aww she threw it away." Nora sagged.

She then brings out her SMG, and fires at some Insurrectionists on Mongooses.

Nora perked up, "Ooo! Ren? RenRenRenRenRen-"

"Yes?" Ren raised his eyebrow with an amused smile.

"You should get a motorcycle too!" Nora stuck a finger in his face.

Ren turned to the side, "Not really my style."

Nora pouted, Ren sighed, "Maybe a silent one when we graduate? They are very useful to huntsmen."

Nora's face lit up, "Yes! The three of us on motorcycles would be unstoppable!"

"We don't need you guys to form a biker gang." Weiss scoffed.

Nora's eyes glowed, "Ooo! What's our biker gang's name?"

Pyrrha, Ren, and soon Nora herself grimaced.

"Eesh, nevermind." Nora shook her head.

"...For the record I say we go with Hell's Angels." Yang raised her hand.

Weiss groaned, "Enough with the names!"

Cut to Team A still fleeing from the Insurrectionists. The Sleeveless soldier made a 'Move forward' gesture to his teammate. Carolina ducks down.

"What's with the civilians?" Yang raised an eyebrow.

"They're driving as if nothing is happening." Weiss pointed out.

"Who cares?" Nora asked. "Come on look at the screen." Nora threw her hand to the screen.

Ruby nodded, "Nora's right, this is so cool I will completely ignore anything that doesn't make sense."

"Ditto." Jaune agreed.

Carolina: "Punch it York!"

York: "It's punched!"

Girlie lands in front of the Warthog and has a brief battle with Carolina. Maine is slumped over the hood. Carolina kicks Girlie off the warthog but she uses her jetpack to land back.

"That was so cool!" Ruby gushed.

Maine stirs, but the female Insurrectionist plants her foot on Maine's back, knocking him out again. She steals the briefcase off Maine's back but Carolina manages to retrieve it back. As the briefcase flies in the air Carolina struggles to get a grip of it; eventually she manages to.

Carolina: "Got it."

"Havin a little trouble there?" Yang chuckled to herself.

The sleeveless Insurrectionist kicks Carolina down to the front bumper of the Warthog and retrieves the briefcase. Carolina attempts to climb back on the Warthog, while the sleeveless Insurrectionist prepares to execute a still-unconscious Maine.

Ruby and Jaune gasped.

York: "Hold on!"

York swerves the Warthog to the left, flinging Carolina & the sleeveless Insurrectionist off it, rousing Maine in the process.

Both breathed a sigh of relief.

Blake raised an eyebrow, "You two know he lives."

Ruby frowned, "What? Oh! Right sorry. I got caught in the moment."

They land on a nearby truck platform with oil drums, with Carolina grabbing the briefcase in the process. Girlie begins to fire at Carolina, forcing her to take cover behind a barrel.

"So much is happening! It's a chase scene, a fight scene, and a shootout! And they're doing all of this while trying to get the briefcase!" Jaune pointed out, slightly catching his breath.

"And they're actually using their environment. It's relatively small but not many fight scenes do it well." Blake added.

The sleeveless Insurrectionist tosses an oil drum at Team A's Warthog, knocking off its turret.

York: "Woah! Would you quit throwin' shit!"

"The camera is jumping around." Ruby commented.

"It's following the action." Jaune explained.

"It's spiralling around them." Ren added.

York: "On your left! On your left!"

The sniper soldier fires at York and Maine from a neighboring truck. York rams the Warthog into the truck, knocking the sniper off. The truck crashes and other cars behind it can be seen in the background.

Jaune, Pyrrha, and Ruby along with Blake and Weiss winced.

"They're not worried about hurting the people around them." Pyrrha grimaced.

"I could see it from the director, but York and Carolina?" Jaune shook his head.

"Maybe York didn't see the truck, one eye and all." Yang tried to joke.

To Weiss it fell flat, "Ugh."

The sniper uses his jetpack to gain back his balance and accelerates towards the Warthog, until Maine punches him in the face, knocking him down to the road. York and Maine speed up next to the oil truck.

"Woah! Maine re-enters the scene!" Yang shouted.

"Maine is cool sometimes, ugh why did he have to become the Meta!" Nora whined.

York: "Watch it! Watch it!"

Maine jumps out of the Warthog and onto the oil truck platform, in order to assist Carolina. Maine battles Girlie, but is kicked back to back with Carolina.

"They haven't cut in a while." Jaune noted.

Ren nodded, "Not since the girl attacked them."

"This fight scene just flows! It's so good!" Yang grinned giddily.

"And the score." Weiss hummed, "It's not usual action music."

"This is better than any action scene I've seen. No bad slow motion, barely any cuts, and no over the top explosions. The building last episode didn't even explode, a hole was shot from the top through the middle and it imploded. Everything is so different." Jaune commented.

"It's unique, in most movie car chases they kind of just drive and shoot at each other." Yang grimaced.

Ruby nodded, "Yeah that used to be so cool! But this topped it."

Yang nodded, "It's blowing normal action scenes out of the water."

As Carolina and Maine are back to back the two switch opponents (Carolina fighting the female soldier & Maine fighting the sleeveless soldier) with Maine now in possession of the briefcase as it switched using their magnetic holsters.

York: "On the right!"

York tosses the Brute Shot to Carolina. Carolina Matrix jumps in the air, dodging incoming bullets. She stabs the female soldier with the Brute shot.

Pyrrha grimaced slightly, seeing the brute shot in Carolina's hand.

"That's a strange sight." Ren commented.

Pyrrha chuckled, "I was thinking the same."

"They still haven't cut!" Jaune noted with excitement.

Carolina: "Ugh Come on!"

Girlie tosses her pistol to her sleeveless companion, who catches it. The sleeveless soldier battles with Maine, managing to shoot Maine's throat.

"Ah!" Ruby winced, "He just shot him through the jaw!"

Jaune cringed, rubbing his jaw.

He then throws Maine to the floor and shoots his throat repeatedly.

"Gah!" Ruby shouted, "He- what?" She held her hand up to her face.

"How did he survive that!" Weiss yelled, her hands also held up.

"Ohg- god!" Jaune winced.

"He emptied the whole clip." Blake's breath caught.

Ruby whimpered slightly, "There was so much blood. Blegh!"

"The bullet should have torn his throat apart." Yang added.

Blake nodded, "It should have decapitated him, or nearly so."

Ruby held her hands up, "Gross gross gross! Stop!"

Nora nodded, "Ewww I can picture it."

Ruby gagged as she began to picture it too.

"Try to picture something else." Ren advised, his eyes turned back to the screen. "These soldiers match up with them well."

"That sleeveless soldier is almost as brutal as Maine." Blake added.

"They're competent, the usual soldiers have been nothing but canon fodder." Weiss pointed out.

"They took out Maine, the big bastard that turns into the Meta." Yang shook her head. "They're good."

"Maybe they're the insurrection's version of freelancers." Jaune suggested.

Carolina: "NOOO!"

Carolina quickly tackles the soldier and nearly stabs him with the Brute Shot. The sleeveless Insurrectionist kicks Carolina off and the two battle. "Spiral" picks up as Carolina begins to overcome the two soldiers.

"She still cares about Maine, even after what he did to York." Pyrrha smiled.

Maine loads his Brute Shot, with blood pouring down his throat.

"I know he lives but how is he standing? He should be out." Nora commented.

He aims at the two Insurrectionists, but Girlie fires at Maine, causing his aim to go awry. Maine fires at the truck's rear, causing it to swerve. The truck hits a car and the four soldiers fly through the air, girlie flies off the highway.

"This reminds me of our fight on the highway." Blake commented. "But less damaging."

"Our?" Weiss asked. "It was Sun, Neptune, you and Yang. Me and Ruby only joined in at the end."

"Yeah but we kicked ass!" Yang raised a fist.

Blake chuckled, "We did." Her face darkened, "But Torchwick caused a lot of collateral damage."

"Just like they are." Yang grimaced.

"The difference is, they're supposed to be the good guys." Ruby sagged.

"Are they?" Blake asked.

Ruby sighed and shrugged, "Do you think we caused a lot of damage?" Ruby gasped, "No one died right!?"

"No one did." Yang assured, "But there was a lot of collateral damage, a few went to the hospital."

Blake snarled, "It was all Torchwick, he rampaged through the streets in that paladin."

Ruby nodded, "He did, but the damage caused is still our responsibility. We're huntresses, we're supposed to be better. We could have done.. something."

Weiss nodded solemnly, "You're right, we should be and we should have."

"I doubt they have the same sentiment though." Blake sighed. "They have a complete disregard for the innocent lives on that highway." Like Torchwick, Blake thought with a growl.

...The room remained silent for a moment.

"..Imagine driving on your way to work, and seeing this." Yang gestured to the screen, trying to lighten the mood.

Nora started to giggle, causing a chain reaction. Among everyone except Ren who only grinned.

Carolina reaches for the briefcase, still on Maine's back, but fails to reach it. She lands in the Warthog. Maine, however, bounces off the road twice and is hit by a speeding truck and is completely knocked off the road.

Jaune winced, "Maine is getting punished this episode."

"It's karma for the training session." Blake commented. "And then some."

"And then a lot." Pyrrha corrected. "If Maine deserved any punishment for York's eye he got it. And then so much more. Remember, he can't speak after this."

"He can only growl menacingly." Ruby nodded.

"Look at the beating he's taking, he still survived. He can take anything." Nora gasped. "How did they kill him?"

"He likely drowned." Ren explained. "Tucker stabbed a sword through his armor and he was tied down by the Warthog."

Ruby grimaced, "That's a bad way to die."

"A cruel death for a cruel man." Pyrrha snarled.

"More monster than man." Blake added.

"He drowned? Did you see how many times he got shot in the throat. He should have drowned in his blood!" Yang shouted.

Ruby gagged, "So gross!"

Jaune instinctively held a hand to his throat.

The sleeveless Insurrectionist retrieves the briefcase and flies up to his Hornet. The scene finally cuts. Tex appears on her motorbike & fires at the Hornet.

"It's fitting that after the best and longest running action scene in the entire show ends, they cut right to Tex." Yang grinned.

Jaune's eyes widened, "It's been one shot for a little over one minute."

"Really? It felt longer." Ruby commented.

"Because it was awesome!" Nora cheered.

"It's the expert cinematography, the camera was spiralling out of control while not cutting once. Bad film makers use a lot of cuts to trick viewers into thinking a scene is more action packed than it is." Weiss explained.

"No cuts, no buts, no coconuts." Nora agreed?

"What?" Weiss asked, she soon shook her head. "Nevermind."

Nora giggled, "This episode is amazing. This fight is even better than the fight at the end of season eight."

Yang nodded, "You know.. we watched Grif drive through a wall, revealing animation and I thought 'Wow! How can they top this?' We watched Tex kick the reds and tucker's ass in the best way possible and I thought, 'Wow! How can they top this?' THEN! We watched Tex, The Meta, and Washington fight, and soon after we saw the Meta fighting the reds and blues, again. 'Wow! How can they top this?' LOOK AT THIS!" Yang shouted, pointing to the screen.

"And the episode isn't even over yet!" Ruby grinned.

"I have no doubts they can top this, then top that, and so on." Yang smiled.

"Me neither." Jaune laughed. "I don't think I can watch an action movie ever again."

The Hornet enters a tunnel and damages the tunnel door controls. Tex follows in pursuit.

"Yet again, smashing a panel suddenly opens or closes a door." Weiss mumbled.

Cut to Carolina and York

Carolina: "Don't let her grab it first!"

Pyrrha's face fell, "Is she serious?"

"She seems to be." Ren nodded.

York: "Who cares who gets it first!"

Pyrrha nodded.

Carolina: "I do!"

Pyrrha sighed.

The doors slowly begin to close.

Carolina: "Bail out!"

York: "Bailing!"

York hops out of the Warthog and rolls down the road.

"He did not second guess her order or ask any questions." Nora giggled.

"That's devotion." Blake nodded.

Carolina rides on the Warthog and is catapulted into the tunnel before the doors close, wheels of the Warthog flying every which way. She activates her speed unit enhancement and zooms off.

Cut to York on the road.

York: "Man, I've got to quit jumping off stuff today."

Jaune laughed, "That's a good idea."

Cut back to Carolina, who has spotted the Hornet. Using her speed unit to avoid multiple cars, Carolina manages to catch up with Tex, and the two begin to race for the Hornet in order to obtain the briefcase.

"Now we get to see who's best." Yang laughed. "Heh heh."

"York was right though, who cares who's best?" Jaune asked.

Yang shrugged, "I do, and it's Tex."

"It's absolutely Carolina, but Jaune is right." Weiss gestured to Jaune.

Tex: "Fall back Agent Carolina. I've got this!"

Carolina: "You fall back!"

Tex accelerates. The Hornet exits the tunnel and begins to ascend. Tex leaps off her motorbike and launches it towards the Hornet, managing to take it out. Tex backflips as she does so.

Weiss's mouth hung open, Yang smirked. "Change your mind Weiss?"

"W- we'll see who gets the briefcase." Weiss stammered.

"The competition is the problem though, it's what drives agents like Wyoming and Maine to use actual bullets." Pyrrha pointed out.

"Yeah." Ruby agreed, "It's what C.T. Said, it's drawing a line between them all. Especially Tex and Carolina."

"Carolina…" Blake paused. "I still wonder why Carolina matters, she's only been mentioned once or twice before this season."

"She'll have a part to play no doubt." Ren assured.

The sleeveless Insurrectionist uses his jetpack to escape. He gains his balance and flies off with the briefcase.

Sleeveless Insurrectionist: "Woah!"

Tex lands on the road and Carolina sprints past her.

Yang's grin fell.

Carolina leaps off the road and uses her grappling hook to keep up with the sleeveless soldier. She lands on a building and quickly jumps off of it. She lands on another building and sprints towards the soldier.

"Morte ai nostri nemici"

Weiss hummed along to the lyrics.

"She's so reckless." Pyrrha shook her head. "She's blinded by her own ambition."

"She just wants to beat Tex, I don't think she cares about the mission at all." Blake added.

"I think she doesn't even care about Tex, she only cares about being number one." Ruby explained.

She tackles the Insurrectionist in midair and the two land on the road. She punches the soldier and the two begin to tumble all around the street, with Carolina sliding on the road. The soldier hits a truck and the briefcase detaches from his back. Carolina sees a car coming and curls up to slide underneath it. Part of her armor scrapes against the underside of the car, and she is sent flying through the air and her back hits a wall on the street. "Spiral" comes to a close.

Pyrrha winced, "Recklessness is dangerous."

Weiss and Blake nodded, Weiss turned to Blake. "You should know a thing or two about being reckless."

Blake glared at her with a blush, Weiss didn't hide her smug smile. Blake huffed and turned back to the screen.

As Carolina stands her helmet detaches, revealing her red hair.

Nora pointed, "Hey she's a red-head too! High five Pyrrha!"

Pyrrha chuckled and high fived Nora, "I'm sure it's another coincidence."

Carolina stands and stares at the Camera.

"Oh my god Pyrrha it's you." Nora deadpanned, her cheery voice returned a second later. "Oh my god Pyrrha it's YOU!"

Pyrrha was at a loss for words, her mouth hung open.

"Her eyes are even the same!" Jaune pointed.

Pyrrha blinked, glancing at Jaune for a split second before going back to the screen.

"It's Pyrrha, no doubt about it." Yang clapped. "I- I don't know what to say."

"What to say? How about how AMAZING this is!" Nora shouted.

Ruby's eyes practically glowed, "PYRRHA! You're Carolina! Carolina is you!"

"This gives a whole new meaning to Pyrrhalina!" Nora cheered.

Pyrrha was still at a loss, but a blush crept up on her face from her friend's reactions. Even Ren was momentarily shocked. "We should have expected this, she already had your voice."

"I-" Pyrrha started before trailing off. "Huh, this is interesting."

"That's one way of putting it." Weiss gaped at the screen.

"She's like me but.. different." Pyrrha caught her breath. "She's so competitive to a fault, I- I've never been that way."

"Well she's not.. you, you." Ruby 'explained' "She's you from another universe."

"Please don't bring up that theory again." Weiss half-heartedly complained, still in relative shock.

"Do you think so Ruby?" Pyrrha asked. "I- I don't know what to do. I'm at a loss."

"Give it a minute." Jaune advised. "This is… weird."

The dam broke, Pyrrha laughed. "It certainly is weird… I'm in Red vs Blue! All of me, not just my voice.. I'm animated!" Pyrrha laughed again.

"Rather poorly." Weiss commented.

"Are you calling her ugly!" Nora accused.

Pyrrha laughed, "No Nora, she's not…" Pyrrha paused, "I'm Carolina.. I am Carolina. Unbelievable."

"I wonder if the other's look like themselves- er or are themselves?" Jaune mumbled.

"..Well our Dad doesn't look like the director." Yang pointed out.

"Yeah but the director doesn't sound like dad. Church could look different." Ruby gasped. "Does that mean Tex looks like Professor Goodwitch! Tall blonde and really really cool!"

Yang laughed, "Really really cool? Not how I would describe Goodwitch. That's more accurate for me." Yang gestured to herselfx

Rubh groaned, Yang frowned. "Goodwitch.. I can and can't imagine Ms. Goodwitch under Tex's armor. Punching guys in the balls yes, cussing no."

The mental image disturbed Jaune, "Agh." He grimaced, "I don't want to picture that."

Yang forced a laugh, "Yeah me neither, but I think I can see Ms. Goodwitch as Tex. A little weird to think of her fighting with her fists."

Ruby nodded, "Yeah.. what about Caboose and Wash?"

Pyrrha giggled, "It's a little hard to picture Doctor Oobleck under Caboose's helmet. They're too different from one another… why then, am I and Carolina so similar?"

Nora nodded, "It's weird, C.T. is nothing like me, but she sorta sounds like me."

"Carolina is a dead ringer for you though." Yang said to Pyrrha.

"It's too much to write it off as a coincidence." Weiss frowned.

"So you won't deny this but you will deny your singing voice?" Yang asked.

Weiss growled but before she could speak up, Blake interrupted. "I can easily picture a younger Ozpin as Washington. Not Wash as a freelancer, only after he became cynical."

"And made mistakes." Ruby mumbled. Are those the kind of mistakes he meant? Turning bad? No… not Ozpin.

Blake nodded, "We will have to wait and see."

Everyone turned back to the screen.

"...Jaune?" Pyrrha asked.

Jaune came to his senses, having been staring at Carolina, "Oh! Sorry it's just.. so- surreal? Is that what they call it."

Pyrrha chuckled, "You're telling me, I'm looking at myself."

"It's like a bad mirror." Ruby added.

Pyrrha nodded, not thinking. Just looking at Carolina, "I- I'm ready whenever the rest of you are."

Tex from across the street picks up the briefcase. Her theme plays as she does so.

Tex: "(over radio) Command, the package is secure. Headin' home."

Yang frowned, "What is she doing?"

Director: "(over radio) Excellent work Agent Texas."

Tex: "(over radio) Thank you sir. (to Carolina) Better luck next time, Carolina."

Tex hops off the road.

Yang scoffed, "What? That's- that's such a dick move. She just took credit for all of Carolina's work!"

"That's Tex for you." Blake smirked.

"What a bitch." Yang growled.

"Yang Tex has been a bitch since season one and you've just now noticed?" Weiss asked.

Yang's eyes widened, "Yeah but she was a cool bitch, badass and sassy. Never like this."

Weiss scoffed, Ruby smirked, "Is she still your hero?" She teased.

Yang tilted her hand back and forth, "Ehhh."

Jaune frowned in thought, "You know.. if Tex is failure. Why is she winning?"

"...Maybe this isn't something she truly cares about. She only really cared about winning twice in the whole show and she lost both times." Yang explained.

"Blood Gulch, Andy blew up the Pelican." Ren listed. "And on Sidewinder, the Meta trapped her in the memory unit."

Ruby nodded "At Blood Gulch she wanted to win the war against the Aliens-"

"I forgot about that." Jaune mumbled.

"-and then she wanted to kill Wash and Meta?" Ruby asked.

Yang nodded, "She did but mainly she wanted to dismantle everything the Director ever made. She can't do that in a memory unit."

Ruby nodded, "But she won here so.. she doesn't really care?"

"Or she won because of m- Carolina." Pyrrha gasped. "If Carolina had held back like Tex wanted, she would have lost. Carolina did all the work for Tex."

Yang huffed, "Can't believe she did that… and I hate that I absolutely can believe it."

A Pelican approaches Carolina and descends. The back hatch opens where the other Freelancers are seen inside. York lends out his hand to Carolina in which she takes.

The screen cut to black.

Yang let out a woop, "Wow! What an episode."

"The best action scene in the entire show so far and-" Jaune looked to his right. "Pyrrha!"

"Yes- oh sorry." Pyrrha laughed. "I'm still a little shcoked. Ruby do you really think she could be me from another reality?"

Ruby shrugged, "Maybe.. it's really cool if it is you."

Nora nodded, "Yeah!"

Pyrrha laughed and stared at the black screen, "I think in the end Carolina won."

"..What? she did but Tex still won in the eyes of the director." Blake pointed out.

Pyrrha shook her head, "No no. I mean she still has her teammates. Sure Tex can succeed by herself, but at the end of the day. Carolina has her team, her friends. Maine took a bullet for her, York joined the mission even after his injury because he knew they all needed him."

Ruby smiled, "Yeah, yeah you're right."

For now Blake thought, her team doesn't last.

Ren smiled, "I would love to start the next episode, I would like to see C.T. and Pyrrha- sorry Carolina again. But I want to listen to On Your Knees first."

Yang nodded, "Yes! Play it!"

Jaune began to fumble with his scroll.

"On Your Knees" by Jeff Williams began to play.

"Bitch in black, hard as stone"

Yang grinned and hummed along, Ren fished around for his forgotten notepad.

"Need no friends, work alone

Three on one, they should've sent four"

Yang laughed, "Oh come on Pyrrha this song is still perfect for you."

Pyrrha shrugged, "I'm not Tex."

"You're Carolina! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it." Jaune laughed.

"Every time you stand up, you're back on the floor

A punch in the balls and a kick to the head"

"Can definitely picture Ms Goodwitch doing that." Yang nodded.

"Why?" Weiss grimaced. "Do I want to know?"

Yang laughed, "Nothing like that, she's just mean."

"Get it on, boys, or you're gonna get dead

Think ya got skills but you're sinking like a stone

Next time, fuckers, you should just stay home"

Yang began to wave her hair around. Ruby and Weiss scooted away from her.

"You can screw Nevada

Mess with Maine

Leave Hawaii in a puddle of pain

You can beat Virginia till she's down on the floor

But if you fuck with Tex, you'll be on your knees for sure

Motherfucker"

"This is where the song ended in the show." Weiss pointed out.

"So we only heard half the song." Jaune added, gesturing to his scroll.

"Advantage: Texas - got that right

Bet you boys sleep well tonight

Lick those wounds, nurse those sores"

Yang laughed, "I love this song so much, it's an ode to how awesome Tex is… except for what just happened last episode."

"Yeah, she stole what Carolina earned- what all of them earned." Ruby huffed.

"Name reserved and that's who for

You got nine lives, she's got ten"

Yang snickered, "Is that line for you Blake?"

"You couldn't leave it alone." Blake groaned. "I will put my bow back on. Purely to upset you."

Yang held her hands up, Blake smirked.

"After that she'll ride again

Bit of a badass, anyone can tell"

Yang and Pyrrha nodded.

"That crazy bitch is hell's angel"

"I knew it!" Yang shouted.

"Oklahoma - beat down

Pennsylvania - dead and drowned"

Ren quickly jotted each state name down.

"The gold alien is rapping again." Weiss shook her head.

"Minnesota - castigate

Massachusetts - flagellate"

"Huh?" Nora scratched her head.

"Bitch slap Tennessee

DC, dead, see?"

"Weird name for a state." Blake mumbled.

"Utah is a fucking mess"

"They're the one that got hurt from the bubble shield right?" Ruby asked.

Jaune nodded.

"Oregon in great duress

Maryland is on her knees

Louisiana? Bitch, please."

Ren's pen flew across the page.

"Mississippi, worst day ever"

North Dakota not much better"

"Poor North." Pyrrha mumbled.

"Missouri in a stranglehold

Montana's corpse is getting cold

Bleeding time for old Kentucky"

"Kentucky?" Nora snorted. "Who's naming these places?"

"Indiana, not so lucky

Vermont could use a four leaf clover

New Jersey, it is almost over

Pick up Delaware and slam her"

"Woof." Yang chuckled to herself.

"Call the meds for Alabama

Michigan has been destroyed

Ditto that for Illinois

New Hampshire should have brought a friend"

"Hmm likely an old Hampshire too." Ren mumbled.

"West Virginia's at her end"

"And an east Virginia." Ren added.

"Colorado - crash and burn"

"Oh the one dude is back to singing." Yang hummed.

"Kansas - point of no return

Georgia's underneath a bus

California's really fucked

Idaho and South Dakota

Give it up your time is over"

"Wonder if South left agent Idaho to die too." Nora mumbled.

"Nebraska, cancel all appointments

Washington, we've got your ointments"

Blake chuckled.

"Ohio don't stand a chance"

"It's Sarge!" Nora shouted.

"Wyoming needs a change of pants"

"No. Wash used to be the bed wetter." Yang laughed.

Blake groaned, "Of course you remembered that."

"Rhode Island, you cannot surmount

Puerto Rico - does that even count?"

Ren raised an eyebrow.

"Pummel down on Carolina"

Pyrrha winced slightly.

"Connecticut, you're such a whiner"

Yang laughed, "Ha! She is."

"Hey!" Nora protested.

"Arkansas, eat my dust

Alaska is a total bust"

"There's Grif." Jaune commented.

"You can screw Nevada"

"Tex." Yang chuckled.

"Mess with Maine

Leave Hawaii in a puddle of pain

You can beat Virginia till she's down on the floor

But if you fuck with Tex"

Yang began to sing along.

"If you fuck with Tex

If you fuck with Tex, you'll be on your knees for suurrrrrrrrrre!"

Yang cut her 'sure' short and laughed. "He's really going for it."

Tex: "Motherfucker."

Yang laughed and clapped.

The song ended.

Ren dropped his pen, "The names were so quick it was hard to get them all. I'm sure the spelling is off."

"Did you get all fifty?" Pyrrha asked.

Ren shook his head, "Not all fifty were said, Florida for example wasn't mentioned. Only forty four, forty five if I count Tex."

"And apparently puerto rico doesn't count?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.

Ren shrugged, "In the end it matters little, I was only curious. Not counting Puerto Rico, adding Old Hampshire and East Virginia means forty six states we know of… I wish I knew how to spell them. I doubt they're phonetic." Ren chuckled, glancing at his notes.

Jaune nodded and looked at his scroll, "Oh Ren, there's a lyrics section." He laughed nervously, holding up his scroll for Ren to see.

Professor's SS— Not Canon

"How about that, young miss Nikos is truly in the show." Port laughed.

Oobleck nodded, "Yes yes, it seems the theory that this show is from another universe is correct!"

Goodwitch looked to Ozpin, "Ozpin?"

Ozpin chuckled, "Sorry, lost in thought." Where is Salem in this other universe?

"I wonder if our esteemed headmaster is under Washington's helm." Port gestured to Ozpin.

Maybe when I was younger, much younger. Ozpin sighed.

"I doubt I am under Tex's helmet." Goodwitch scoffed.

"Are you sure? You and Tex command a similar brand of fear." Oobleck complimented.

Ozpin and Port laughed, Glynda scowled.

"And are you, Bart under Caboose's helmet?" Goodwitch sniped back.

Oobleck's eyes widened, "Hmm I would have to be… strange."

"Caboose has taken quite a few blows to the head." Port recalled.

Goodwitch's scowl deepened.

"Lighten up Glynda." Ozpin chuckled, "There are still a few more episodes this season."

"Oh joy." She rolled her eyes.

Blizzic on YouTube made an incredibly well put together analysis of this amazing action scene. He explains why it is better than most movie action scenes, the science of it, and why it sticks with us. It's so memorable. "Red vs Blue's Perfect Action Design (Season 9, E17: Spiral)" Check it out, don't let the amount of views fool you. It is a professional video.

P.S: I just got "After the Fall" and pre-ordered "Before the Dawn" and "Fairy Tales of Remnant" time to learn some lore.

P.S.S: I also finally got around to finishing the ultimate fan guide. And boy does it fill a major plot hole I hated for so long. Not as much extra info as I was hoping for, but eh.. still kind of worth it. I don't know if I should have reactions from that book, it has a great deleted scene and two amazing things for them to react to. But unlike the reactions so far, you have to pay to see them. So I likely won't have them react to anything from the fan guide, you can buy it yourself. I got mine from Amazon.
