'Luka!' my father yells at me. 'You get back here right now or there will be severe consequences!'
I turn around slowly and walk back, reluctantly. My younger bother, Jordan, doesn't know what our parents are really like and for that, he is considered lucky.
'Luka, I know you don't want to,' my mother says in a slightly forced calm voice, 'but we both car-'
'YOU CARE?!' I all but scream in her face. 'SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU CARED ABOUT WHAT I WANT?!'

'That's what I thought.' I hiss before I storm out of the room, their cries for me to come back fell on deaf ears.
Reaching my room, on the second floor, I resisted slamming the door in fear of waking Jordan. Enough of their controlling ways, I can only think of one escape.
