"So, Mrs Midoriya. We're here today to discuss your son's sudden manifestation of another aspect of his quirk." Nedzu said to Inko, gesturing to her son, who was beside her when it concerned him.

"Yes, I heard over the phone." Inko said, switching to her 'lawyer mode' this was what she did in court rooms, s the lawyer known as 'devil's advocate.'

"Yes, I suppose you would have." Nedzu said, "… As you know all quirks have an effect on people's psychology… Did Midoriya ever display odd behaviour when he was younger?"

"… well… Bakugou's always had an… volatile personality…" Inko said.

Izuku fake coughed while saying 'understatement of the century.

"Izuku didn't really have a concept of ownership when he was little. Once when he was five, he had picked up one of Katsuki's toys, when it was time to leave I told him to give it back… he said 'but he wasn't using it, and it was on the ground. Now it's in my hand, and I'm using it. Therefore, it's mine.' I don't even know where he heard the word therefore, much less how he knew what context to use it in..." Inko said, finishing her anecdote.

"… this is very interesting. I will of course double check this information with young Bakugou… but Mrs Midoriya." Inko looked at the principal with increased attention. "How did you 'put' a sense of ownership into Midoriya?"

"… we may or may not have eat it into him." She said, Nedzu's eyes widened. "Nothing to serious, not abuse by any means. Just a few incidents of the wooden spoon…"

Izuku rubbed his right buttock with a traumatised expression.

"… well then… you're free to go Mrs Midoriya, please take your son to a quirk specialist." Nedzu stated and requested, Inko nodded sagely at the request.

"So Bakugou…" Nedzu said to the clearly angry student… well, more angry than usual. "We had some questions about Midoriya's behaviour when he was little…" Bakugou winced at the question. That can't be good.

"… well… he didn't really have a sense of ownership for anyone but himself." Bakugou said.

"Yes we got similar information from Mrs. Midoriya… elaborate on the second part."

"… I once took something from him, one of his notebooks. As payback for all the stuff he had stolen..." Nedzu leaned forward, anxious for more information. "He wouldn't 'punish' you per se'… things would just start… going wrong. Tests would magically have incorrect answers on them, with no sign of being altered, homework would go 'missing' without a trace, tyres would have tiny punctures on them, engines would be loosely held together with a few zip ties, pencils, lunchboxes, pencil cases, bags, gone. Disappeared. Without a trace. Anything and everything that could go wrong, would go wrong. Until he got whatever it was back. Or a week had passed. One of the two. After a while people started avoiding him because they didn't want to be in debt for four months… I speak from personal experience." Talking on this subject clearly mad Bakugou uncomfortable. To be honest it was making Nedzu uncomfortable as well. "Does that about explain it?" Bakugou… whined? Nedzu didn't know what else to call it. This topic may have disturbed Bakugou more than he thought.

"Yes, you may go now." Nedzu said.

Once Nedzu heard the click of the door he grinned, it was a maniacal thing, unbidden and evil. He had been anxious about Midoriya… but also excited. He was smart, careful, precise. Everything he loved in people.

Aizawa felt an involuntary shudder travel down his back.

Nedzu needed to play chess with Midoriya!

He made the call to the 1-A homeroom.

XXX
Aizawa grimaced when he heard the classroom phone go off. Only one person used that phone… Nedzu.

Aizawa gulped as he picked up. The entire class watched in shock.

Then they saw Aizawa visibly pale at what was being said on the other end of the line.

Who could elicit this much emotion from their stoic homeroom teacher in only the span of a few seconds?

They heard him mumble a 'yes sir' before hanging up.

Aizawa turned to Midoriya with wide eyes and pale skin, a bead of sweat rushing down his forehead.

"Midoriya, Nedzu wants to you." Aizawa said… worried?

"Why?/is he in trouble?/what happened?" rung out through the room. Aizawa silenced them.

"He wants to play chess with him… the matter is urgent and must be attended to immediately." Aizawa said in a tone that left no room for argument. Everyone was confused. Why was chess an urgent matter?

1-A felt a chill fill the air. They immediately turned to Todoroki who just shook his head and pointed towards Midoriya.

What they saw shocked them.

Midoriya's previously warm and gentle presence had been replaced with cold eyes, and a calculating gaze. His serious features addressed in no uncertain terms who was the smartest in the room.

"Oh? The rat wants to play a game?" The class was shocked by Midoriya's faux kindness, while calling their principal a rat. Midoriya laughed an evil laugh. And grinned a maniacal grin that left everyone, including Aizawa shuddered at the look on the boy's face. "Well then, I'll indulge him for a bit." Izuku said as he walked out of the room. Still grinning like a mad man.

Nedzu felt the cold and calculating aura before he saw Midoriya… with what one would call an 'Aizawa smile' on his face. Yet the smile… it was about as far away from his eyes as it could get. They maintained their cold sharpness, that pierced Nedzu's own calculating aura, seemingly prying into the deepest parts of the rodent.

"Well? Not what you expected?" Izuku said in a sarcastic tone.

"Actually Midoriya, you are exactly what I expected. So… care to play a match or two?" Nedzu said. Izuku's grin grew sharp.

"Well then, just remember… you asked for it."

When Izuku had not returned Aizawa had gotten worried. Which was what led him here. At the principal's office at the end of the school day.

Aizawa knocked.

"Come in" That was Midoriya. What the hell?

Aizawa opened the door to see Izuku putting Nedzu's king in checkmate.

"I believe that is twelve to zero, dear principal." Izuku said.

Aizawa was gaping at the number of times NEDZU had been beaten. Nedzu himself had a look somewhere between horror, shock, and pride. Aizawa was guessing that he was feeling all three in equal measure and didn't know how to express it.

"Well then… Same time next week?" Izuku walked out of the room.

Nedzu collapsed on the ground and started to bawl his eyes out.

(One Week Later)

It had only been a week and already Izuku and made the most of his new quirk, already he had cast a wide net, with rumours of someone who would take quirks you no longer wanted, for no expense at all. By the end of this first week he had collected five new quirks. Dismantle, static, magnetism, heat resistance, and god only knows who had given away a shock absorption quirk.

"Well problem child, you didn't break anything." Aizawa commented.

Izuku smiled as if this was a great accomplishment.
