Chapter 1: Blessing 1 and Kindness like the Sun.

Forest.

"Big bro...who is that?" asked the Hand Demon to himself as a tiny voice that was unknown yet familiar to him rung through his head, the voice of a child that reminded him of something and not the voice of the many children he had killed, it was mostly screaming, shouting, or pleas for mercy that he ruthlessly crushed and enjoyed tearing down by giving them false hope.

'Hold my hand!'

"Hold...his hand?" muttered the Hand Demon as his heart ached at the mention of the hand of this so-called big brother the kid called out, why did he feel jealous about it, he had tons of hands so why did it bother him that much about the hand of this big brother? He wanted to know why those words made his heard ache and he was about to shout but then the image of a child came, he didn't look anything special and was nothing but weak in his eyes and he was a crybaby.

But his curiosity made him look closer as something was familiar about the child, the child was weeping and begging for help as he was all alone in the darkness.

"I...remember...that is me...or was me before I turned into a Demon...big brother," he remembered it all how he used to be afraid of the darkness all the time as a child in times which he begged for his brother to always hold his hand, tears leaked out of his eyes when he remembered it all and he knew one thing that was going to happen and something he knew he deserved for killing so many children and innocent people. He would go to hell as the Gods and his death by the Demon Slayer judged him to go to that hell and never see the sunlight which he loved so much as a child, but when he became a Demon that feeling has never quite left his body as he desired to see it in its blazing form.

He would never see the sun again, be damned into the deepest parts of hell, always cowering in the darkness, and worst of all he would never get to see his big brother ever again...but he was fine with that all and was ready to accept his punishment to go to hell.

Because he ended up being the same being he loathed for killing his family.

"...the poor boy," said Tanjirou with a sad gaze and sheathed his sword in his sheath and walked without his guard up and walked over to the Hand Demon, he recognized the hand in front of him and even if it was in the normal eyes nothing but big and ugly and sickly green he felt something about it. It was when his younger siblings asked him to hold their hands when they felt scared of the dark, a common occurrence in his household ever since his dad had passed away. He held the hand and it closed around his gently not trying to crush it to get back at him for killing him, the Hand Demon showed more tears and saw the act of kindness as it was to him like seeing the sun in a human form. "Kami-sama...please, make sure this boy's next life will be ensured with happiness,"

"He is the sun, his warmth so inviting...it is like I am feeling the sun again for him to show empathy towards someone like me who killed out of fear. I wish to know how kind you would be...how it would be to have you as my big brother as well," the Hand Demon smiled as he disintegrated away and muttered a 'thank you' to Tanjiro and was whisked away to a dark place and looked around him, he was no longer in his Demon body that made him feel strong...the darkness didn't scare him and he was shown something besides black and it was an entrance of some sorts and the design made it known to him what it was.

"The entrance to hell...I am ready to accept my punishment, Kami-sama. Big brother, I wish I could see you again...but that won't be for a few more decades," said the boy walking forward with no fear in his eyes, and soon red figures dressed in armor and halted him preventing him from walking, they both pointed at something behind him which was still darkness until an orb of fire appeared blazing like the sun and lighted up the darkness. "B-Big brother,"

"Otouto, come here!" shouted the elder sibling making the younger sibling widen his eyes that his brother wanted him to come back, didn't he see him mercilessly killing children of his own age out of fun, food, and boredom? Why would he want a murder like him to go over to where the sun shines and the souls of good people would go, Goddess Amaterasu had been merciful and made his death painful and allowed him to feel the gentle warmth of the sun after so many years.

Would she really be that merciful to allow him to go to her garden?

The boy shook his head and refused no matter how much he wanted to run up to him and hold his hand one more time he felt he didn't deserve it, seeing his brother was enough for him but the Guards prevented him from coming in.

"Not true, you showed your honesty and didn't take the easy way out...Kami-sama decided to redeem you...give the Child of the Sun God your blessing. And the ones you killed forgave you for everything," said his big brother.

"...But I don't deserve it," muttered the boy out.

"You do now come back to me, and let's go to Heaven," said his big brother making his little brother cry. "Mom and dad are also waiting for you and we have a lot of time to catch up!"

Back to Tanjiro who shed a tear at seeing the body disintegrate but the last bits vanishing stopped confusing Tanjiro, the sun came and shone its light on the last remains and soon the dark bits turned into a golden light and gathered together and formed into something. Tanjiro watches in amazement as it took shape in something and when the light flew towards him he held his hands out, the light disappeared and it showed its form to him and it was an amulet that showed 2 hands grasping each other.

"W-What is this?" muttered Tanjiro as the amulet fell in his hands.

He had no idea what it was or what it could do but he felt he could trust it so he placed it gently in his pocket and headed back to the initiation place, he had to ask his teacher about this all.

'Thank you...Swordsman of the Sun,'

Time was almost up and Tanjiro coughed once again as he felt his side spike up in pain again as it was one of the places the Hand Demon had struck, but it was his stubbornness that allowed him to continue for so long walking while ignoring the pain. Perhaps also his death as he regretted being stubborn now as he was walking up the hill that had a rather narrow path, barely keeping his balance with his katana and the pain was becoming so unbearing he almost lost his footing and was forced on his knees.

'No good! If this continues like this...I will die before I make it up there!' groaned Tanjiro in his thoughts but that became his demise as he slipped and fell, he didn't scream at all as his lungs were far too tired for that and could only function for taking in the minimal amount of oxygen to function the body, Tanjiro was just too tired to know what was going on but one thing he knew was he broke his promise to Nezuko and Urokodaki.

As he was falling the talisman in the shape of 2 hands holding each other glowed the moment Tanjiro was falling to his death, the talisman released several orbs of light and dozen of normal hands came out thin air and acted swiftly, all began to hold hands and formed a net and caught Tanjiro in it while lowering the speed he was falling at until he landed gently on the ground.

Tanjiro fluttered his eyes open for a moment as he didn't feel pain but felt his body moving and caught the hazy sight of human hands before falling asleep, it was only that he could see the hands as they weren't done as some left the net and picked up a branch or a sword to guard him against other demons that were maybe nearby. While the rest of the hands kept connected together to keep being the improvised hammock for Tanjiro to rest in, it was what that will of the Hand Demon was that his hands would keep Tanjiro safe and protected.

But the hands knew they would not be seen as friendly as who in the right mind would think that multiple floating hands would seem innocent, while they were very gentle carrying Tanjiro up towards the hill intention was the question and appearance as well. They knew that Tanjiro had to wake up right now once they had gotten close to the initiation place, a pair of hands gently prodded the boy's cheeks which he didn't react at and repeated the same thing again until he woke up.

"Nooo...Urokodaki-sensei, let me have this day a few more minutes of sleep~!" whined Tanjiro for the first time in his life that he wanted to sleep more, the exhaustion his body was feeling screamed at him to rest even if it was for a few moments, not once did he slack off at doing his usual jobs when his family was alive ever since his dad died it intensified. He never cared that it got harder and that more burden was put on him as his father told him it was the duty of the eldest sibling, he worked every day in his life to be useful in everything, chopping wood, doing small chores, cooking, and waking up very early in the morning and working deep t' ill the night and...wait a minute?

Why was he only seeing hands and not bodies of humans?

"Uwaah!" yelped Tanjiro in fright but regret came back as he forgot the moment he saw the floating hands that his body still hasn't recovered pain came back, the floating hands gently pushed him back but before they could explain rays of the sun shone and hit them, they didn't disintegrate and only felt how bright and warm the light was and gently put down Tanjiro getting his breath back. All then rose up and flew towards him and once close Tanjiro felt fearful and closed his eyes, not seeing that the hands turned back into the light and returned themselves into the talisman disappearing from Tanjiro's sight.

"Huh?" was all that Tanjiro could say as he looked around and saw the hands nowhere and he was sure that it wasn't an illusion nor a Blood Demon Art, Urokodaki told him that despite how strong demons were that only the very strong Demons that came close to the Lower and Upper Moon could do this and the 2 groups themselves. He looked back and saw how far he had gotten ahead of himself and he remembered the fain experience of falling, not pleasant in the slightest but better to be like that as it made it more memorable.

He had seen his life flash across his eyes but he wasn't dead.

Still, he had a feeling that it was the Talisman that did this from the Hand Demon as the only connection of those Floating Hands was the Hand Demon, the Talisman he left behind when he disintegrated into pieces before turning into light, did something like this happen earlier and did Urokodaki know about this? Was it a Blood Demon Art?

No, Urokodaki had been very thorough with his explanation of how Blood Demon Arts work and how they appear, the Blood Demon Arts were not to be nor could be explained by the alchemic means and it was the closest thing related to the Folktales across Japan, besides that they appeared in a unique way or a very grotesque one. Ki, Chi, and Touki all those arts of strengthening the human body was the closest topic related to the Blood Demon Arts, perhaps Urokodaki would know more about it as he didn't have the time and still had to arrive.

Urokodaki Estate.

"Tanjiro...your story seems rather hard to be actually believable..." commented Urokodaki looking at the Talisman of 2 hands grasped together and while it was finely made nothing special was seen, however being a Former Pillar Urokodaki didn't let his age get the better of him and felt the air around him. It wasn't normal at all and Tanjiro might have been beaten up quite badly his head was like the rock itself, very hard so he doubted he would lose memories...but then again him explaining everything so clearly and understandable without making any childlike noises was pulled in this as well. Still, the warm gentle air around Tanjiro combined with several other factors of him being an honest and humble person, his eyes still having a great warm kindness in them and showing nothing but pure innocence, so he was given the choice to believe the story of Tanjiro or not believe it and think he simply hallucinated but he went for option number 3.

"When was it that you saw them, tell everything you felt and what you remembered, and the last encounter with the Demon," asked Urokodaki.

Tanjiro explained how he was walking up the hill wounded and fell because he kept stubbornly on with walking, Urokodaki got internally angry as his behavior and recklessness reminded him of one of his former pupils, snapping out of his moment of anger and lane in memory as Tanjiro halted his explanation seeing that he was angry. The former Water Pillar motioned to Tanjiro to continue explaining and listened with all his attention that not even the sight of Nezuko sleeping in her child form averted his eyes from Tanjiro, information like this was invaluable and could turn the tides against the Demons for once then the Slayers falling one by one.

Once he finished hearing the explanation he wasn't surprised Tanjiro showing kindness and mercy to the Demon and granting it a painful death, he was all too aware of the true nature of Demons as they were weak people, they suffered and were sent into a state that made them desperate of anything to get them out of that cold place.

Kibutsuji Muzan, the Progenitor of Demons was the definition of what a Demon was.

Cruel, arrogant, selfish, and many other things but right now that wasn't what he was supposed to be thinking off, right now he had to find a way to make Tanjiro's story believable.

They came right after Tanjiro fell off the hill, once again he was going to give the boy a firm scolding for that, they came for him when he was about to die or that he was in danger...interesting. Standing up Urokodaki left the room leaving Tanjiro confused and slightly scared if Urokodaki wasted time when he told the story he hardly believed it himself, only the 2nd part of it as the 1st part was a bit of evidence that it happened but that it possessed special powers, no.

"Hmm, for now, we will continue training once you've recovered as I can't send this information to the Ubuyashiki State," there was no proof so Urokodaki didn't want to cause trouble as every day got worse, Tanjiro survived his initiation meaning he had potential and every bit of potential even if it was low.

"Hai!" said Tanjiro.

After a week of rest, Tanjiro recovered and was first given some light training and added something to it once his body had gotten used to fighting again, he made the obstacle course even more dangerous and the training got even a bit harder, and the final touch was he sparred with Tanjiro and he was weak right now but he did get a better gauge of his potential. It was downright terrifying how quick he adapted to his swings and moves but that wasn't what he sought for as it was the talisman clipped on Tanjiro's clothing, he had an idea how to draw out that power Tanjiro described and it was anything but good as it went only for logical reasoning.

"Hmph!" putting a bit more strength into his strike as Tanjiro failed to block it as it went right past him, but what made him widen his eyes was that the blade was still going and intended to pierce his shoulder!

*STAB!*

...That...didn't hurt at all?

Opening his eyes slowly he saw Urokodaki trembling as he struggled to push his blade further as something blocked him, looking down he saw a hand blocking the sword but it wasn't his hand but a hand without a body, it was floating in the air and had no visible organs from where it was cut that it would be only a hand.

"W-Wha?"

"So it seems it was really true," commented Urokodaki as he retreated his sword back into the sheath as her watches the hand not return to the talisman, it was sentient like something of the level of a dog as it was still wary of him. Not trusting him but knowing he wasn't here to harm Tanjiro and that amazement came back, this was something akin similar to the Demon Blood Art but not requiring blood and meant to protect and fight against Demons. "Now it seems that I can write a report...however, this could cause a steer since I don't even know how this works,"

Tanjiro didn't say anything as he looked at the hand that was still floating in front of him guarding like a dog, that he was amazed was an understatement as the floating hand turned around and tilted itself as if seemingly asking him if he was okay.

"I'm okay, his blade didn't hit me," said Tanjiro, and the hand immediately gave a happy reaction by doing a flip and then gave a thumbs up.

"Tanjiro," called Urokodaki making Tanjiro stiffen up realizing that what he had wasn't something to be taken lightly. "I have to report this back to the Urashiki Household...but you don't have to worry as Oyakata-sama is a very fair man,"

"So...what do I do now?" asked Tanjiro not seeing where this was going.

"You keep it and use it in your training before you set off to your 1st mission and when you get your Ninchirin Blade," responded Urokodaki leaving the boy confused as he expected more words and more instructions given to him. "I have no idea what that talisman of yours truly is...whether it be a way for you to be able to harness a Blood Demon Art or not this is a power you can't ignore,"

That was an understatement in his opinion as this was a power that wasn't even allowed to be ignored, this was definitely not a Blood Demon Art and if it could be still called a Demon Art was in the question as well. It didn't give him a weird feeling that he felt every time he faced a strong Demon and when they used a Demon Art, this wasn't the same as the action of the hand was simply dedicated to protecting Tanjiro yet also trying to please him.

"Tanjiro, your training will be harder than you will be in even more danger, you need to find out how your talisman works and what the limits are," said Urokodaki in his stern tone making Tanjiro pay attention to him as the stern tone he used was rarely heard by him, the boy had gotten the feeling of what the stern tone was and what the casual tone of Urokodaki is, and feeling a bit more fire and showing more of his authoritative side was definitely obvious hinting it was the stern tone. "You need to find out how many hands you can summon, how strong it is, can it do anything else, does it require a form of sustenance, does it link with your mind, everything you need to try out to figure out how it works and if you can get to do it once more,"

After Training.

'Eventually, we found out what the exact abilities of the talisman are,' thought Urokodaki as he watched Tanjiro put his Demons Slayer uniform on having explained how it was far from ordinary-looking.

The Talisman didn't require any form of sustenance at all to summon the hands and currently could summon in a total of 3 pairs of hands, the hands were stronger as they seemed to grow stronger every time Tanjiro got stronger. Attempting to summon more hands Tanjiro feels the strain on himself of trying to summon a few more, they seemed to be sentient as they were dedicated to defending Tanjiro, and they couldn't be harmed by any conventional means as his attempt to stab Tanjiro was proof of that.

There was still worry about Urokodaki about what the Talisman can do to Tanjiro and Nezuko, he didn't want to imagine what would happen to it in any way if it gave some form of recognition of Blood Demon Arts, would they remember what the once were and not be so protective of Tanjiro and turn their backs on him?

"Black...the blade turned black..." uttered Hanazuka out snapping Urokodaki out of his thoughts and looked to his left seeing Hanazuka fuming, trembling in anger as he was mad that the Ninchirin Blade turned black instead of red, the color of black usually meant the wielder doesn't go far but not in terms of strength as the saying goes. It had a different meaning that the ones who wield the Black Blades won't go far and Urokodaki never liked that saying that goes with the Black Blades, he knew what the different meaning behind the saying was and that was that they...wouldn't live a good long life.

And yet there were a few who had only the Black Blades.

"I WANTED TO SEE A RED BLADE!" shouted Hanazuka jumping up trying to grab Tanjiro but the talisman acted up and rocketed themselves into Hanazuka's face, and making the adult embedded into the wall making him the newest decoration of Urokodaki's house.

"Please repair the wall," said Urokodaki with a sigh that hid his amusement at Hanazuka's failed attempt to attack Tanjiro.

The hands stiffened up as they saw they damaged the wall and went off to get the repairing materials, not only were the hands friendly they were very handy and picked up skills well. Urokodaki had not such a well-rested day for years as the hands did most of the housework leaving him with the cooking duty alone, not only that they were good at massages as well. He would miss them for that ad they made the house in an odd way less lonely considering that they were hands, they just reminded him of the pupils he had before they died on their initiation that always filled him with regret.

Regret that despite him being a Former Water Pillar if he was an incompetent teacher as so many died, he made training always harsher, and yet it did nothing at all and only Tomioka survived.

He was going to miss Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the hands as their presence made his heart feel lighter and not dwell on the deaths of his former pupils, once the wall was fixed it was time to say goodbye for now.

"Tanjiro, Nezuko," began Urokodaki but the hands balled themselves into fists and were...fuming? "The hands too!"

Urokodaki chuckled at the hands showing their happiness.

"I wish you the best of luck...just take good care of yourselves, and hands protect the 2 as best as you can," said Urokodaki coming forward and hugging Tanjiro who returned the action and the hands joined in as well. "Also, there are still a few more things I have to give you as the Hands may be strong, it is better to have some versatility for them as well,"

"Urokodaki-san! There are more blades!" shouted Tanjiro in surprise that there were more blades and even a few pistols.

"I want you to be as good as prepared before you leave, this is my gift so take care," said Urokodaki now receiving a hug from Tanjiro and the Hands before they turned away and left the estate, not for a moment he turned around and watched the boy and his little sister leave.

Alrain: Perhaps not an entirely accurate description of the episode or the manga but it is more focusing on what the story is about, I don't know how to explain how the power works of how Tanjiro is able to turn Demons into Talismans. But is it pretty much the same Mystery of how Muzan got turned into a Demon and got such amazing power from a mere [REDACTED.] so those who know it is pretty much the same thing.

Also, he won't be getting every demon to turn into a Talisman as he can only do that to those who are truly unfortunate victims, and the Demon must be incredibly strong, and let's just say the Hand Demon was just strong enough to be turned into one. There isn't something like a soul in it or anything like that but something akin to leaving the will of yourself in it.
