Hey guys and gals! This is my first story in a while. With being at home, I finally have time to write. Anyways I will be updating my other stories as soon as I finish exam week. This is going to be a short story. It is inspired by Isak Danielson's song Broken. I had been listening to the song on YouTube and found that no one had done an animatic or glmv for this song as a Miraculous Ladybug fic. So, without fur-ther ado, here it is! Enjoy!
Dupain-Cheng Bakery
Sabine was not blind. She was a mother and always knew when her child was hurting. There was nothing her sweet innocent child could hide from Sabine. While she honored Marinette's right to privacy, Sabine worried for her daughter. Tom might have been blind to the teenage superhero, but Sabine knew everything. Alya had come into the bakery one day that week and decided to blab about her new friend Lila Rossi. Even if Alya hadn't brought it up, Sabine still would have known about the lies of this new girl. After all, only so much could be concealed when a teenager runs a blog.
Sabine noted the fact that this Lila girl had taken to claiming a strong friendship with Paris' superheros. This was the same Lila who had tried to expel her daughter. Her daughter who was Ladybug. Sabine had put all the pieces together and scowled at Alya.
She couldn't believe- Well, she could believe, but she didn't want to. Sabine didn't want to believe her daughter's best friend possessed such a fickle heart.
But Alya did. The young blogger was easily blinded. Lila had stolen her friendship and destroyed Marinette at every chance.
Sabine could only take so much before barring Alya from her friendship discount.
Actually, Sabine had banned all free orders. Her daughter was hurting, and Sabine could only try to limit the pain now.
Agrest Mansion
Plagg had trained many handlers over the millennia. Plagg suffered by the side of every kitten. He thought the worst he'd ever witness was when Master Fu had destroyed the temple. Plagg was scared to admit, for the first time ever, he was wrong. The black cat kwami sat quietly above the sleeping figure of his current holder.
The young blonde boy cried himself to sleep as he had done after almost every lonely dinner. Tonight was one of many empty slumbers. Plagg's tiny face shrunk as he recalled the events of the day.
Adrien. Adrien the blind, oblivious child. The boy who hurt so much and hid it all.
Gabriel Agrest is cold. He lacked heart and morals. Plagg knew this, but he had underestimated the cruel man. Gabriel continued to make empty promises and while some seemed innocent, such as missing dinner, none of his intentions were polite. Gabriel was only trying to manipulate his child into an obedient slave. Gabriel had called Adrien to his office early that night. Plagg grimaced as he thought back on the explosive temper he'd witnessed.
Adrien had gone to meet his father's demand, with a smile, as he always did. Adrien wanted only the affection of his father. The boy knew no love. His father was rigid like ice, and his mother was dead. More like hidden in the basement by his lunatic, Plagg scowled.
Adrien had no clue what his father needed, but he gladly accepted any attention his father gave him. Unfortunately, this was not an innocent meeting.
Gabriel didn't even waste a minute. Before Adrien could close the door to his father's office, Gabriel had slapped the boy. The sound echoed around the room. Natalie, who had been escorting Adrien to the office, simply walked away. She made no comment and gave no expression. She was as cold as her boss. Maybe more.
"WHAT IS THIS?"
Adrien was stunned. He must have missed some part of the conversation while he was standing there in shock.
"Adrien! Are you listening to me?!"
"Sorry, Father-"
"What is this I hear about you publicly humiliating my new model, Lila Rossi?"
Adrien deflated instantly. The first sign of emotion his father gives him, and it wasn't even about him.
"Father-"
"And now I hear that your grades are dropping!"
"-I can explain-"
"THERE IS NO ROOM FOR FAILURE IN THIS FAMILY!" Gabriel screamed.
Adrien flinched. He couldn't hold back the tears any longer. Two beads rolled down his cheek where the red hand mark was beginning to bruise. Gabriel turned around, not even batting any eye at his son's face.
"Go to your room! NOW!" Gabriel glared with enough force to cast an akuma out of Paris. "We will talk about your punishment later."
Adrien nodded with downcast eyes and fled the scene.
Adrien would forget all about this incident the next time his father did something nice.
Adrien would. Plagg wouldn't.
Plagg remembered every incident with Gabriel. This, however, was the last straw.
Okay! I'm gonna stop there for now. Sorry if you think Gabriel possesses even the slightest bit of remorse in him. In this short story, Gabriel is a terrible father. I just can't imagine him regretting any of this after reading a post about season 4. NO SPOILERS! If you want to know, look it up.
Peace out!
