I am back at it with another NaWen fic! XD So yeah, before you get started reading this please note that even though this story takes place during the Nirvana arc, it uses information learned in the Alvarez arc. So if you have not seen or read that arc yet, just be warned, there will be spoilers. Anyway, with that being said I hope you all enjoy!

She stared at his peach colored face, his beady black eyes looking back at her. His spiky pink hair being slightly rustled by the cool wind. She felt like her chest was a drum and her heart the drumsticks as it thumped against her chest. That boy who seemed to be a few years older than her looked so handsome…so dreamy…she just had to get closer to him.

However, her ankles were being held back by the invisible chains known as nervousness. She brought a hand up to her face as her eyes darted around. Behind, a big white dragon kneeled down. "What's the matter, child? You're not scared of him, are you?"

Wendy shook her head. "Nuh-uh. That's…not it…"

"Then, what's the matter?"

Wendy didn't know how to put her thoughts into words. All she was able to do was direct a quick glance to Natsu's face before she looked away again.

A large crimson red dragon behind Natsu bellowed a laugh. "I think I know what it is." He leaned down to whisper in Natsu's ear. "It looks like she has a crush on you, my boy."

"Crush?" Natsu asked dumbfounded as he cocked his head to the side. "What does she want to crush?" Natsu then gasped as he had a sudden realization. "Hey! Wait a minute!" He pointed towards Wendy dramatically. "You'd better not try and crush my food, got it!"

"I would never do that!" Wendy protested in a meek voice.

"Go on, introduce yourself," Igneel ordered Natsu, giving his son a slight nudge in the back.

"You too, Wendy," Grandeena said, pushing Wendy forward just a tad.

The two young dragon slayers slowly and carefully walked up to each other. Wendy's heart continued to pound against her chest. Her cheeks were soon painted in the color of tulips as she gazed into Natsu's eyes.

Natsu felt that. Wendy's kind warm gaze that was able to melt his very soul turning it into a mushy mess. He gazed back at her, finally realizing just how cute and pretty she truly was.

Thump.

Thump.

The fire that usually rested in Natsu's belly was now heating up his face as he kept his eyes locked on that girl. Like a maze, he easily found himself getting lost in those pools of brown. Leaves blew off of the trees and flew in between them as Natsu cam back to his senses. His name…that's right, his name. He needed t give it to her. He needed t give it to her right away.

"I'm Natsu Dragneel."

Bouncing her ankles against each other, Wendy finally mustered up enough to courage to speak her name as well. "I'm Wendy Marvell."

"Wendy Marvell," Natsu repeated those words so that he could be sure that they would be ingrained into his brain. He never wanted to forget that name. He wasn't sure why, but he already felt a strong and inseparable connection with this girl in front of him. He never wanted to be away from her. He wanted to play with her, to protect her, to be with her forever…He didn't know why that was…but he didn't care. All that mattered was that his heart was telling him that he wanted to stay by this girl's side. And Igneel had taught him to always listen to his heart. So yes, that is what he will do. He will heed the advice of his heart that he knew would never tell a lie.

"I'll remember that name forever," Natsu told Wendy with a bright smile. "Nice to meet you, Wendy! Come on, let's play!" Yes…he shall remember that name forever…No matter what…

"Ow~" the small girl said after getting up and dusting off her yellow and blue dress. "I'm sorry I got here so late. I've come from the Cait Shelter guild. My name's Wendy. It's nice to meet all of you."

"She's a kid?" Lucy asked with a shocked face.

"A little girl?" Lyon observed, slightly perplexed, but also interested.

Natsu stared at her in awe. That name…that name resounded in his head for some reason that he couldn't place. "Wendy…huh?" Why? Why did that name feel so familiar to him? It filled him with a warm, serene sense of nostalgia as it rolled off his tongue so easily. Almost as if he had been saying it for years. She was pretty…so stunning that when he looked at her, she was practically growing, like a radiant white light was surrounding her. It was almost as if she was emanating pure beauty.

He felt as though hammers were pounding against his skull as he tried to remember where he knew that name from to no avail. He had tried asking Gray to remember her for him, but of course that pervy popsicle was of no help to him. Looking back over at Wendy, he felt a slight thump in his chest. She smiled back at Natsu in kind, which caused his heart to beat even faster. She looked so gorgeous that Natsu couldn't help but be sent into a daze as he stared at her.

They had a brief meeting with the rest of the coalition of guilds as they talked about how they would bring down the Oracion Seis. Once the meeting had finished, Ichiya made a most unwelcome announcement about his desire to go relieve himself and went on his merry way. Meanwhile, Natsu found that he too had a need to fo to the restroom. In accordance with that fact, he decided to ask one of the members of Blue Pegasus for help.

"Hey, do you guys have a spare restroom?"

"We do," Hibiki informed him. "It's right down the hall."

"Sweet, thanks man." Natsu gave him a grateful nod before he hurried down the hallway. Natsu made his way over to the bathroom and opened the door.

He was instantly greeted with the sight of Wendy having just finished pulling up her rosy pink panties. "N-Natsu?!" She blushed wildly as she pulled her dress over her underwear in embarrassment. An intense pressure and heat formed in his chest as his jaw dropped. That surprising yet pleasant sight still fresh in his mind. How was this girl so cute? He thought to himself in amazement. And before, he knew it the door behind him had shut. He turned back around and staring at the door in confusion.

"What just happened?" Wendy asked in a meek voice.

"I don't know," Natsu said as he attempted to turn the doorknob. "No good, it's locked."

"Whaaaaat?! How did that happen?!"

Natsu shrugged his shoulders. "No idea." Then, looking back at Wendy, his chest began to heat up all over again as the situation finally dawned on him. Here he was…alone in a locked room with that gorgeous petite girl. That little beauty that made his heart sing and dance. He was finally alone with her. The girl whose name continued to ring in his memory like a soothing melodic bell. Wendy Marvell…

"Guess we're stuck in here though," Natsu said as he sat cross-legged on the floor.

"Guess so," Wendy agreed, timidly looking over at Natsu.

Natsu contemplated with himself on whether he should bring up what he was thinking about all this time to Wendy. He really wanted to talk to her about how e was able to remember her name and perhaps even get an answer on to why that was. But, maybe even more than that…he wanted to talk about the feelings he had for her. These feelings that felt so new and unfamiliar to him, yet as old as time…A confusing, yet pleasant contradiction.

What would she think if he decided to confess these feelings to her? Would she think he was weird? Would she be afraid and avoid him forever? Or would she perhaps, return his feelings? His thoughts being a jumbled mess that irritated him beyond belief, Natsu decided to ignore them all and just go for it.

"Hey Wendy, listen…" Natsu started, staring at the large fancy white door in front of him. "This might sound strange and you might think I'm weird for saying this…But your name sounds really familiar to me." Wendy's eyes widened at that. "I don't know if we've ever met before, but it sure feels like we have." Natsu itched his neck, unsure of where he actually wanted to go with all this. "Sorry, I just wanted to let you know. It's a really pretty name by the way."

"Honestly, I understand what you mean," Wendy said, surprising Natsu. "When I first heard the name Natsu Dragneel from the others in Cait Shelter, I thought it sounded really familiar. That's why I wanted to meet you. Because I heard that you were a dragon slayer like me and for some reason, hearing your name filled me with a sense of nostalgia.

"You're a dragon slayer too?" For some reason, Natsu actually wasn't all that surprised about that. Maybe he knew all alone that she was and that was part of the reason he felt that he knew her so well?

Wendy nodded, "Yeah. I'm the Sky Dragon Slayer."

"Wendy…" Natsu turned to face her, overjoyed that she perfectly summed up his feelings towards her. Natsu was sucked into Wendy's big brown eyes as subdued feelings started to resurface. Likewise, Wendy found herself entangled in Natsu's black pupils. Their minds and hearts had connected along with their eyes. Their thoughts were as one. What was this feeling that was building up inside of them? This irresistible urge to want to become closer and closer to each other. They couldn't tell, but yet they found themselves submitting to that oh so persuasive feeling anyway.

And slowly, gently, passionately, their lips touched. Their hearts fluttered, almost as if they had grown wings and taken the two up to the sky. Wrapping their arms around each other, their kiss grew deeper as their minds were filled with only thoughts of one another.

The incredibly pleasurable sensation that they were feeling floating all throughout their bodies. Neither wanted it to ever end. They would be content if they could just stay that way forever. Just being in each other's arms, their lips pressed together made Natsu and Wendy feel like they were in paradise. A warm and cozy paradise made just for the two of them.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. And so, just barely Natsu took his lips away from Wendy's. Wendy brought a hand to her mouth, not even noticing her red cheeks as she stared at Natsu in astonishment. "Wow, Natsu…that was amazing."

"I'm the one who should be saying that," Natsu admitted with a grin. "I don't know why…but I feel like I've already known you for centuries, Wendy."

Wendy nodded, "I feel the same way."

Natsu looked towards the door, contemplating whether he should speak the rest of his thoughts. He didn't know what was wrong with him. He usually always spoke his mind whenever he wanted. So, why did this time feel so different? Instead of a fire in his belly, butterflies had invaded and taken its place. Eventually, however, he decided to turn back to Wendy and tell his truest most bare-boned feelings. "And…like I've loved for you just as long."

"Natsu…" All Wendy could do was stare in a mixture of surprise and teary joy at Natsu's words. "It's the exact same for me, Natsu. I feel like I've known and loved you for so long. I don't know how, but I know those are my feelings."

"Well, if that's the case, then…"

"Then?"

"Close your eyes," Natsu told her in a low, soft-spoken voice.

Wendy did as he requested and slowly shut her eyes. And amidst the darkness of her closed eyelids, the sweet soft taste of Natsu's lips endowed her own. She instantly kissed back, her shoulders sinking down as she completely surrendered herself to the kiss. Her small back pressed up against the wall as Natsu's lips danced around hers, much to her apparent delight.

Natsu ran his hand through Wendy's hair as he kissed her. The soft silky sensation brushing up against his hand heightened his senses. Wendy felt a little tingle in her spine as Natsu lovingly caressed her blue locks.

Natsu and Wendy continued to make-out, moaning in pleasure as they did so. Not wanting to separate, they kept up their make-out session for as long as possible. Wendy locked her hands together behind Natsu's neck to stay close to his body as Natsu clasped his hands under her little waist. Neither could stop, not wanting to end the excavation of each other's mouths and so the kiss kept up for several minutes. The smacking sounds of Natsu's and Wendy's lips wrestling echoed inside the bathroom as they continued to moan.

Then, light filled the room as the door creaked open. In the entrance way was Erza with the rest of the alliance behind her. In the time that the door had opened, Natsu and Wendy had managed to break off the kiss and separate from each other just a tad bit. "Are we interrupting something?" Erza asked in an interested voice as she folded her arms.

"Were you guys making kissy faces?" Happy asked, a sly grin on his face.

Perfectly in sink, the dragon slayers' faces lit up like the reddest of tomatoes at Erza's question. "We…weren't doin' nothin'," Natsu said, keeping his head turned away from everyone."

"Right, well then, hurry up. We have to go defeat the Oracion Seis now." And with that, Erza and the rest of the alliance left.

"Well, guess we better get going," Natsu said, shooting a quick glance towards Wendy."

"Yeah, guess we should," Wendy muttered, glancing back at Natsu as well.

They both got up and walked out the door. They looked back at each other every now and then as they left the Blue Pegasus guild hall. Natsu still wasn't sure why he remembered Wendy's name…But one thing was for certain. He truly did love the girl named Wendy Marvell.

"I'll remember that name forever!" Yes…he shall remember that name forever. No matter what…

This is honestly my headcanon on why Natsu remembered Wendy but not Gajeel, Sting, or Rogue. Like, there's gotta be something going on there right? XD Hope you guys enjoyed this story even though it was just a short one-shot. I'm working on a longer NaWen fic, but I want to wait for the cover for it that I commissioned before I upload it. It should be ready sometime in June. But until then you can look forward to other NaWen works from me.

Oh, and one more thing. I'm planning to hold a NaWen week. I see that it used to be a thing, but I'm going to bring it back. Please join my NaWen subreddit if you are interested. Just type r/NaWen in google and it should come up. I'd love to have all my fellow NaWen fans get together where we can share our passion for this ship with fanfics, fanart, AMVs, and whatever else someone might want to do. Anyway, that's all. dmaster out. :P
