Sorry for any mistakes that are in this story. I am trying to write this on my phone and do a proofread before publishing it. If I missed something, let me know. Thanks

Izuku silently looked up at the sky as he thought about everyone telling him that his dream of being a hero was impossible. All because he was part of the twenty percent of people that weren't born with a quirk. With a pained groan, the young child picked himself up off the ground. 'Maybe I can convince Mom to let me learn martial arts. It would help me with my hero work, and if I don't become a hero, I can use it for self-defense.'

(Midoriya residence)

"I don't know, Izuku," said Inko after hearing her son's request. "We probably won't be able to afford lessons, and I don't want you to get hurt."

"Please, mom," begged Izuku. Normally, he wouldn't push the issue, but this was his only hope to be a hero. Inko frowned before letting out a sigh.

"I'll look around, but if I think that you can't handle it, I will pull you from the class."

"Okay," said Izuku with a smile. "Thanks, Mom, I love you."

"Love you too," said Inko as she hugged her son. "Now go wash your hands. The katsudon won't eat itself". Izuku cheered at the thought of his favorite food and ran to the sink.

(One week later)

Izuku nervously looked around the dojo as his mother talked to the instructor.

"Itsuka," said the man to a nearby orange-haired girl, "Show young Midoriya around while I discuss things with his mother.". The girl nodded before practically dragging Izuku away. "I'm Itsuka Kendo. What's your name?"

"Izuku Midoriya," stuttered the young boy, His timid nature on full display. "Are you related to the teacher?"

"He's my father," said Itsuka with a nod. "So, why do you want to learn martial arts?"

"Well, I want to be a hero," explained Izuku.

"Me too," stated the orange-haired girl with a smile. "My quirk is called big fist and allows me to make my hands bigger" Itsuka held up her hand to show Izuku her quirk. "What about you?".

"Oh," Izuku became downtrodden, "I don't have a quirk."

"Really?" Asked Itsuka in surprise. "Well, that makes your drive to be a hero even cooler."

"What?"

"You could change a lot of people's opinions on quirkless," said Itsuka excitedly.

"I guess."

"Izuku," called the boy's mother. Walking over with Itsuka, he nervously glanced at her father and, hopefully, his teacher.

"Young Midoriya," said the man staring at the boy, "what do you know about fighting?".

"I've seen other people fight, but nothing else," answered Izuku. 'I don't think that I should mention that Kacchan uses me as a punching bag.' He winced slightly at the memory. Itsuka's father noticed this but didn't say anything.

"A blank slate, huh?" said the man with a smirk. "That's good."

"Why?" Asked Izuku, curious.

"If you were doing something wrong," explain the man, "we would have to waste time breaking you out of those bad habits."

"I understand," said Izuku with a nod.

"Now I want you well rested for tomorrow," said the man as he took Itsuka's hand. "I hope that my gut feeling was correct this time around," he muttered as he walked over to a group of students.

That's it for this chapter. The next chapter will have Izuku unlocking his new power, not a quirk, and meeting everyone's favorite hero. If you couldn't tell, the pairing will be IzukuxItsuka.
