The second time Hermione awoke, she was much more aware of her surroundings. Alphard was still there, waiting for her return to consciousness.
He quietly spoke, "Welcome back Miss Granger. I understand this is a lot to take in but right now we don't have time to clarify everything right now. These are dangerous times and we must keep you safe, a time traveller from the future would be seen as a victory card to some."
Hermione just nodded, she knew that was true if she were to be in 1971, which seemed to be the case.
"What do we need to do then?" She asked.
"I think we need you hidden, I think you need protection and I think we have to keep your identity a secret." He replied. "I'm going to see about your discharge from here and then we shall head somewhere safe for you."
An hour later and Hermione found herself up and ready to leave St. Mungos. She wasn't injured, whatever curse had been sent her way had not had an effect on her, most probably due to the time turner taking the spell.
"We will travel by Floo as that won't cause an issue with any wards." Was all Alphard said to her as he stood near the fireplace.
"You just need to state Potter Manor and I'll be there waiting for you." And then before she knew it, Alphard had went on ahead.
Hermiones' eyes were wide as she took in the location name, Potter Manor? She knew this was going to be Harrys relatives she just wasn't one hundred percent sure if this was going to be his grandparents.
She took a handful of the powder and shouted the destination, taking a deep breath before stepping into the fireplace. A quick spin later and she stepped out into a large reception room with no one present other than Alphard Black.
"Potter Manor?" Hermione asked. "Of all the place to take me to THIS is the location you deemed best?!"
Alphard looked at her with concern, "You know the Potters in the future personally? That is…inconvenient but we'll have to work through it. This is the best plan for your safety at such short notice."
Before she could even reply an older woman who looked to be in her late 50's appeared, she had black hair and brown eyes but the most noticeable thing about her was the welcoming smile she had on her face.
"I thought I heard the Floo, you arrived sooner than I expected Alphard." The woman said.
"Yes, this young lady was discharged rather quickly. Much to my relief if I say so. Now I'm sorry I didn't explain very much over the floor call but it is probably safer to do so in person."
"Yes, by the sounds of things you're right." The woman said before turning to Hermione. "My name is Dorea Potter, it's lovely to meet you. I've been informed briefly that you're not from this time and in need of some protection?"
Hermione just nodded before replying "Yes Mrs Potter, I believe so but you'll have to forgive me as I'm still trying to get my head around everything."
"I just think you should be taken in as a Potter, it's a strong family, which would offer you the best protection on multiple levels. As much as I'd like to offer the Black family I don't think you'd be best off with my sister." Alphard interjected.
"Taken in? As in like a ward? Not sure how that will work - I'm 19!" Hermione stated.
"Yes dear we can see you're too old for that but I think we may have a better idea" Dorea said trying to placate her. "We have a son, James who is 11 and seeing as how we keep to ourselves politically and publicly we feel there's an advantage in no one knowing about our child..or children."
Hermione was confused, which wasn't something she was used to.
"I don't understand." Was all she said.
"We think we should de-age you, and disguise you as James' twin sister." Alphard summarised.
She just looked at him in shock, that was his plan? Didn't seem fantastic to her but she was short on options. So she just nodded.
It was decided that she were to be blood adopted by the Potters, this resulted in her having to take multiple potions so that not only was she de-aged to be 11 again, she was officially a Potter.
Two hours later she found herself in front of a mirror, she looked similar to her old self except now her long hair was black and sleek and her eyes were a light grey - much to her surprise. It was explained that Dorea was a Black before her marriage to her husband Charlus and it was the Black characteristics she had been given.
She was officially named as Ara Dorea Potter, twin sister of James Charlus Potter.
