Angel: First one! I based this one off of Toei's Swan Lake, a concept I haven't rewatched in a long time...XD

Okay, so for this one-shot story, be as creative as you want for requests. You can request AUs, modern, songfics, etc. But please no yandere or incest. And if necessary, age up or down a character, because the request needs to have characters at an appropriate age xD Yes, you can request for others besides Cass to take the moonstone. I got a lot of that from my Tangled story.

If it's to the point where it's a mature rated request, then I'll leave a warning for people who don't want to read or are just too young to read it with that chapter.

I don't necessarily mind if I have to rewrite an episode from the TV show for a request. Just don't ask me to redo a whole season, please. I'm not saying it to be mean, but I had a particular person asking me to redo a whole season with Sisters' Tangled Adventure before it was completed multiple times. I just don't wanna deal with that again *sweats a bit* Not to mention at this point, I've already started going back and re-watching the third season to fix any mistakes I made with my other Tangled story.

You can request to use my OCs, which were Harmony, Daisy, Morgan, Trevor the 3rd, and Silver. And I ask to please be patient and understanding. Be respectful and accepting if I have to say no to an idea, which I hope I don't have to do. I think the only case where I would say no is if it involves writing a whole season or if someone else has the same idea. And please don't ask me constantly when your request is coming out. I usually take requests in the order that I get them.

Also, if a crossover or AU is requested where it involves another show, it might take a little time if I don't know it or just don't remember what it's about. Anyway, enjoy, and I look forward to reading your requests through either PM or review.

Summary: Varian meets a special swan. This is an alternate universe where Harmony and Rapunzel are not related.

Once upon a time, in a small but glorious kingdom, there lived a prince called Varian, the only child of King Quirin, who believed the only thing best for him was to be a proper prince. Sadly, the boy didn't enjoy activities of a regular prince. He was kindhearted, intelligent, brave, compassionate, and helpful, while also handsome. Rather than spend his days doing anything to do with his status, he spends them doing alchemy, exploring the forest, reading Tales of Flynningan Rider books, and inventing. He sometimes does these things with his friends Eugene and Lance.

Nearby Corona is a beautiful lake, where swans gather. Sometimes they just float along the water, but one of them is very different. They separate into a line through a particular foggy day and one of them swims towards the group. One thing to note is that she has a moon symbol on her left wing. She reaches the other swans and they form a circle around her.

On one special day, Prince Varian decides to go horseback riding with his two friends, where Max and Fidella stop at the lake. Varian continues on, the others following close behind.

The swans swim up to another flock, a raccoon and duckling watching nearby. Their names are Ruddiger and Daisy, who are inhabitants of the lake. Ruddiger splashes water on himself as Daisy sighs a bit.

"Oh...she sure is beautiful."

Ruddiger looks up at her, joining her side on a branch. "Did you say something, Daisy?"

"The swan that has the moon symbol is back again," Daisy points towards the flock. Almost every day, the swan with the moon symbol comes by this part of the forest. "Isn't she magnificent?"

"Just a minute!" He runs off towards a tree.

"Where are you going, Ruddiger?" She stares after him. He approaches an apple tree and runs up it. He plucks a ripe apple from some leaves, taking a huge bite. He holds it up to reveal the bite looks just like the moon symbol.

"How's that for magnificent?" He brags to her.

"What is that?" She recoils back a bit in disgust.

"It's for Princess Daisy!" He chitters in laughter and she pecks at his head. "Ow!"

"Very funny. I'll be a swan like her someday and then you're gonna be crying when I'm not around anymore!" She points a wing at him threateningly, turning back towards the lake with a huff. Then she hears horses, looking over her shoulder. "It's Prince Varian again, from the castle! Let's go see him!" She flies off and he stares after her.

"Wait for me, Daisy!" He runs after her on all fours. She flies past trees and he tries as best as he can to keep up with her. "Daisy!"

He comes to a stop as she's apparently nowhere to be seen, but then she pops up in front of him. "Boo!"

"Ah!" He falls onto his back.

"Now we're even," She chirps happily, landing on a branch. She looks downwards and sees the prince arriving with the two on horseback. "Oh! I'm sure he's the one to break the spell!"

"Oh, that's never gonna happen," Ruddiger appears next to her. "He's been coming here for almost a week and nothing's happened. Just wake me when he's gone." He closes his eyes, resting his chin on his arms. She turns red in anger as she glares at him.

"Look!"

He opens an eye to see Varian walk right underneath the branch. "Eh," He closes it again.

"You're impossible!"

Max takes a drink near the lake as the three have gotten off to take a break. Varian walks off on his own to admire the view today. He looks up ahead to see the swans, stopping in place. For some reason, something seems to be pulling him in that direction. He takes a seat and observes them, something shining in the distance.

His eyes widen as he tries to look closer, walking over to the group. His feet seem to speak for him as he looks on, touching the tree nearby.

"Wow..."

He notices the same exact swan with the moon symbol, looking at her in shock. He's never seen anything like it before. Her feathers and wings look like the most white of snow, and he felt like there was something different about her. She slowly looks up at him, as if sensing his presence, and their eyes meet. The eyes from the swan are a dark brown that remind him of chocolate. He couldn't help but feel like he's not looking at a swan, but a young lady his own age.

It feels like I'm being stared at by a beautiful lady...

"Varian! Varian!"

He looks behind him to see Lance and Eugene arriving. "What's got you all distracted, huh?" Lance smirks a bit, hands on his hips.

"Look over there," He points to the swans.

"Hm?" They look in his direction to see the swan that sticks out. She's since stopped looking at him.

"Is that a swan with a moon on its wing?" Eugene raises a brow.

"Definitely a bird I've never seen," Lance crosses his arms. The other swans surround her and then they hear wings flapping right behind them. The three look up to see a dark blue owl staring at them. His eyes glow blue and the other swans swim away quickly.

Eugene looks back to the lake. "Look at the swan!"

The swan Varian looked at slowly swims backwards, looking a bit agitated. He blinks in confusion and then hears something. He turns around to see Lance preparing to fire at that same swan. "Lance, wait!"

"I'll get that swan with the moon for ya with one arrow! She'll make a good dinner."

"No, don't!" Before either of them could stop Lance, his whole body flashes and then he's turned into stone. Varian runs up to him in horror, wondering what just happened.

"Lance!" Both of them shout.

"Lance, he—he's been turned into stone! How-?"

"Varian, this must be a magic forest," Eugene looks around cautiously. "It's gotta be the swan that did this!" He looks to the swan with the moon symbol.

"That can't be," Varian shakes his head, stepping forward to look at the creature. It couldn't really have been the work of this beautiful bird...could it?

"Well, we can't stay here," Eugene looks around. "It's dangerous, kid, and your dad would never let me live it down if something bad happened to you."

He thinks about the swan again...

They return home to Corona, a beautiful kingdom that thrives each and every day. Varian stares outside his room, thinking about what's happened.

"Interesting..." The back of his mind is telling him that there's no way an animal like that could cause that kind of damage.

"No, interesting is the opposite term," Eugene steps up to him. "That swan isn't normal. And word is that no one's ever been to the other side of that lake before. I'm telling ya, she's dangerous."

"Even if that's true..." Varian looks outside the window. "Do you honestly expect me to believe that a beautiful swan is evil?"

"Varian...Lance turned into stone right in front of us today, when he tried to shoot that swan? I think it's better if you don't go back while I try to figure out how to help him."

"Son."

They turn towards the door to see Quirin arriving in the room. He walks up to his father. "Hi Dad."

"Varian. Tomorrow is your birthday, the day where you become an adult."

"Yes..." He says slowly, and to be honest, it was the last thing on his mind today.

"Since you are becoming of age, tomorrow you will automatically become the king of this land. And at all the ball tomorrow, you will have to choose someone to be your bride."

His eyes widen at the announcement. "Oh, Dad, not again...choose a wife?"

"Yes," The man nods at him. "But you don't need to worry. I've sent invitations to all of the eligible women from all the neighboring kingdoms. I'll allow you to choose the one you would like to be your queen."

"But Dad...can't it wait?" He'd only be turning 18, wasn't this a little rushed?

"Oh, it can't," He shakes his head slowly. "If you're becoming an adult, you need a wife, son. Was there someone you had already in mind?"

Varian frowns a little, as he didn't like anyone in the kingdom romantically. They were only interested in him for either his looks or his wealth, and he couldn't have a marriage like that. He wants someone who would truly love him on the inside. "No..."

"Then do as I say," And with that, Quirin walks out of the room.

"Yes sir..." He whispers quietly, closing his eyes.

"Hey, congrats," Eugene stands in front of him with a smile and then notices his expression. "What's wrong?"

"I'm suddenly becoming a king, so why do I have to choose someone I don't even love?" He frowns deeply. "You got to choose Rapunzel the handmaiden! How can it be a happy occasion when I have to pick someone who won't love me back for me?"

Eugene frowns in sympathy, patting his shoulder. "So then why don't you tell your dad?"

"It's what he wants..." Varian opens his eyes. "And I want him to be proud of me, Eugene..."

"So you're gonna be unhappy for the sake of his wishes?" Eugene points to the door. "How is that any different from, say, being locked in a tower for 18 years?"

"This is my life, and I knew that very well..." Varian steps towards the window, placing his hands on the sill. He clenches his fists, sighing. For some reason, he can't stop thinking about that swan...its eyes...the moon symbol...

He looks towards the land, remembering its elegant wings and feathers. There's something very different about that swan...

"Eugene!" He lifts his head up.

"What, what?!" Eugene suddenly snaps out of it as he was looking at himself through Varian's mirror.

"That swan with that symbol, I have to see it again!"

"Are you crazy?!" The man stares at him in disbelief that he's even hearing this.

"That swan...she's so fascinating..." Varian looks out the window again.

"But that swan has powerful magic!"

The boy turns around to his friend. "If it does, then I wanna see it myself, and then if it's true, we can ask her to save Lance!"

"No," Eugene shakes his head. "What if something happens to you?"

"That's a risk I'm willing to take," Varian narrows his eyes. "I can't believe that a beautiful swan can have that kind of power..." He squeezes his eyes shut.

"But-"

"You can't stop me, Eugene. I'm old enough to make this decision on my own."

He still doesn't like it, but he doesn't want to stand in the way of Varian's life like that. He's already getting a ball he doesn't want...

Late afternoon, Lance is still frozen, facing the lake. Ruddiger stares up at it. "What's this doing here?"

"Rud! Rud!" Daisy calls out and he joins her side again. She's looking at the lake again.

"What is it this time?"

"Look," She points her wing up ahead. "The swan with the moon symbol is leaving."

And so it is as it swims away from the rest of the flock. Varian and Max appear, Eugene and Fidella following close behind.

"For the record, I still don't think this is a good idea," Eugene speaks up behind the boy.

"You promised me you'd keep an open mind," Varian looks over his shoulder.

"I know, but Lance and...I grew up together. You know how we both were orphans with no family to go home too...we were thieves, and then we went our separate ways...that's when I met Rapunzel before she started working for your father. And then everything changed...someday it will for you too."

Varian says nothing as they stare at Lance. "We'll get you out of this, Lance. I promise," They continue up ahead and Daisy looks behind her shoulder.

"It's Prince Varian again!"

They watch as Varian and Max come to a stop. "Look, it's leaving!" Varian points to the departing lone swan. "Let's follow it!"

Eugene nods sharply as Max whinnies, taking off down the path. "Ruddiger, let's not just stand here! We have to help him!"

"Why me?" He calls out after her.

The swan swims past a cliff, the two horses coming to a stop as only water is up ahead. "Great...now what?"

"Varian, we should leave," Eugene gives him a look. Varian turns Max around instead of responding, determined to see this through. Max runs up the cliff, followed by Fidella. They reach the top of the cliff, Daisy and Ruddiger hot on their tails. They can see the sunset up ahead before the horses come to a stop, looking over all the trees. Nearby is a path they can walk on, which they follow.

The swan is now nearing a swamp as the four are going down a steep path.

"You know, I'm risking my life doing this, but for a bird, why not?" Eugene deadpans towards Varian. Up ahead is a small gap, which Max and Fidella jump over. Daisy and Ruddiger come to a stop close behind.

"Daisy, this is ridiculous. Let's go back."

"We can't do that! You want this curse gone as much as I do!" She flies over the gap, turning back to Ruddiger. He reluctantly jumps, gripping the edge, but he falls onto a small ledge below.

"Oh...this is the end of me. Farewell, cruel world..."

"How silly can you get?" Daisy looks on in annoyance.

Max is a bit hesitant going forward since the path starts to crumble a little. "Come on, Max! Ya!" Varian snaps the reins and the horses take off running.

The swan continues going down the stream, the two horses slowly coming to a stop to stare after it. "Man, that swan is going far from the castle...I don't even think I've ever seen this part of Corona," Max blinks at him, as they're at Mount Saison. They walk into a small cave, where they're met with bats. Max and Fidella shriek and run off down the path, Fidella and Eugene getting lost inside. Max manages to get out, looking over his shoulder.

"Eugene? Eugene?"

"Varian?" He can hear Eugene, but he's not close. "Go on without us! We'll take care of these bats!"

Varian hesitates, but nods as Max goes further up the path. The swan seems to be heading for something, the two racing to keep up...until they finally stumble upon a dark and gloomy tree. "What is that...?"

He gets off Max and slowly steps forward, watching as the swan swims behind some trees. A blue glow emits from the spot she's hiding from. His eyes widen as the shadow from the creature changes shape. And then...a young woman stands up.

He didn't believe in love in first sight, but now he's not sure. His heart flutters as she's the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. She's dressed in a blue ballgown like the lake, her puffy shoulder sleeves white as the moon. Her cheeks and lips are more rosy than any other rose he's seen. Her eyes are brown and sparkling, but they look sad, beautiful yet sad. Her hair is like her eyes, but her bangs are blue like her dress. His thoughts are interrupted when Daisy and Ruddiger approach her. More animals gather around her as she picks up her skirt and curtsies to them. They return the gesture and watch her walk up steps.

Varian couldn't even believe that she's real. She looks like an angel, and acted delicately like a snowflake. Maybe she was a witch if she really did turn Lance to stone, but no one like that could be truly evil. She had to be a princess or fairy. Most likely a princess, the most beautiful one in existence. She doesn't even compare to anyone else he's seen.

He slowly steps forward, following after her. Max looks on from his spot, the animals noticing him.

"Oh look, it's him!"

"Prince Varian!"

"He's come, he's come!"

To the two young people, they just hear animal sounds. Varian follows her further as she's about to enter the tree. Suddenly, she comes to a stop, and so does Varian.

She slowly turns around and notices him, gasping sharply. "Prince Varian...?"

"You...you know my name?" He asks slowly, wondering how that's possible. He definitely would've remembering seeing someone like her. "And you...just who are you? Why were you like a swan just now?"

She slowly picks up her skirt, moving away from the tree to stand in front of him.

"...My name is Princess Harmony."

"Harmony?" He's never heard of her... "Harmony, tell me, are you human or are you really a swan?"

She looks away, not wanting to look at him at the moment. "I'm a human like you, but...an evil wizard transformed me into a white swan."

"A-A wizard?!" His eyes widen. He doesn't really believe in magic, because science was more logical. "And he did...this to you?"

"Yes...and it's only during nighttime that I can be human again..." She closes her eyes.

"Is...is that why Lance is stone?"

She has a startled look and then she remembers what happened yesterday, glaring towards the ground. "That was Hector."

"Hector?"

"Remember that owl in the forest?" She points out and he nods. "That was Hector. He can shapeshift...you have to go back quickly, Prince Varian. He could be watching us, even now."

"Then...this tree..." He backs up a bit, looking up at the giant plant. "Belongs to this...Hector?"

She looks up at the tree, where a big house sits on the top. "Let me take care of Hector!" Varian narrows his eyes. He wanted to save this girl from further suffering, even if he didn't believe in magic...what he saw was real.

"No, wait!" Harmony stops him before he could move.

"Don't stop me. My friend is in trouble."

"No, not that," She shakes her head. "Hector is sadistic, and is very strong. He can't be harmed by ordinary human beings..."

"How do you know that?" He raises a brow at her.

"Because my people tried to fight back against him...and in return, he destroyed my kingdom!"

His eyes go wide and by the look of her face, she was telling the truth. "Your kingdom...? He destroyed a whole kingdom?"

They decide to sit in front of the lake so she can explain, the moonlight shining down on them. "I was the princess of another kingdom. Three years ago, Hector came and asked for me hand in marriage. He was very persistent. My father and I both refused...and our kingdom was totally destroyed! He kidnapped and brought me here..."

"But why does Hector change you into a white swan, then?" He turns to look at her, the water slightly rippling from their reflections.

She closes her eyes sadly. "He believes it'll prevent me from ever meeting any other man."

"But why? Out of jealousy?"

"Yes...it's a curse. If a man, who really and truly loves me with his whole heart and soul, appears...Hector will lose his evil power, and then the curse would be broken. He turns me into a swan during the day, so...so that no one will fall in love with me. Then he turned the survivors of my kingdom into animals..."

"What...? Those animals are all people...?" Varian turns to the group of animals watching them with anticipation. "Is this all true?"

"Yes...when Hector brought me here to his tree, he cursed me to change into a white swan by day and a human by night to show off his power."

"My love will destroy Hector and break the spell!" He declares and she whips around to him.

"Don't say that! Because then Hector will-"

"No," He shakes his head slowly. "When I first saw you as a beautiful swan on the lake...I felt a strong attraction to you..."

She blushes deeply at his confession. "Mm?!"

"It's true..." He places a hand on top of hers. "When you looked at me...with those eyes..." He stares into the deep pools of brown. "With those same beautiful eyes, Harmony..."

She closes her eyes, tilting her head towards the ground. He stares at her, placing his other hand on top of her own, interlocking their fingers together. "Harmony..."

Hearing the sincere tone, she slowly looks up at him. This was definitely love...he could feel it. And then he had an idea. "Harmony!" He pulls her closer, slightly alarming her. "Tomorrow night, at my castle, there will be a grand ball to celebrate my birthday. I have to choose a bride. Will you please come...so that I can choose you?"

She immediately takes her hands back, standing up and shaking her head rapidly. "No...no, no, no, no!" Harmony turns around and runs towards the tree out of fear.

"Mona!"

She stops at the nickname, putting a hand to her beating heart. He steps forward as he stares at her back. "Please...come to my castle. And there, we can be together, and then you won't have to live in fear anymore. We can break the curse, and help your friends too!"

"Even if I want to, Hector would never let me go..." She whispers, running up some steps. "Goodbye, Prince Varian."

"Mona, wait!" He grabs her wrist gently.

"No, just please go!" She pleads with him, looking over her shoulder. Hector would never let people like Varian go unpunished. "Hector is despicable and ruthless!"

"Tomorrow, will you come?" She doesn't respond. "I'll be waiting. I swear, I don't want to marry anyone else but you. Please come tomorrow..."

"You have to leave now," Harmony tells him urgently. "Unless you do, I can't promise anything."

"I'll leave..." He slowly walks up the steps, turning around and placing his hands on her shoulders. "But only if you promise me that you'll come."

"Yes..." She runs past him up the steps.

"I'll be waiting!" He calls out, smiling. He turns around and runs down the path, looking at her one last time. She runs up the steps in the tree, looking out a window to see him before going back to her room. The whole time, she couldn't stop thinking about Varian...

Angel: Let me know if you want a part two! Requests are open!
