/Author Notes:
Hey guys, it feels like it's been more time than it really was, huh?
Well, anyways, let's answer the commentaries from last chapters.
RisingPluto66 BKA: "Cool chapter! Will Aichi get a nickname because he is a rising rookie. Can it be "Dark King" Aichi Sendou when he gets Lord Majesty Blaster
Thanks for the compliment and feedback man, I'll appreciate it.
Well Pluto I… honestly didn't gave that much thought when I first started this fic. I know for a fact that he will be called "The Blaster", hence this fic Name. And while I do think "Dark King"is a good name, I believe that "Chaos Lord" Aichi Sendou is a little more fitting, since Majesty uses Blaster Dark, the shadow, and Blaster Blade, the light, to activate it's effect.
I'll give it a thought, so don't worry about it. Don't know if I'll use it though.
BladeBlaster: "You accidentally wrote Buster Blader. Also, dang Shizuka is scary I wasn't expecting that and even she can see how love stuck Kourin is. Looks like Kai might be meeting up with Aichi soon that will be interesting."
Well, thanks man. I found the mistake and corrected it, I believe. About Kai and Aichi, well, you'll see. Fact is that they're fight here is gonna be a two-chapter duel. So it starts on this one and ends in the next.
About Kourin and Shizuka I…
Suddenly the author feels a very heavy and oppressive aura. It flares with rage, as if it was an immense dragon, daring him to continue.
Let's just drop the subject there, okay?
Nervously laughing, the young author leaves as fast as he came through a teleportation circle. The audience then saw it… two beautiful women, one with blue long hair, she was older than the second one. The other was blonde, with a red tinge on her cheeks. They both didn't seem to pleased about the Q&A that the youths where having.
Hey BladeBlaster… that's your cue to leave…
BladeBlaster hears the youth voice of the Autor, but he cannot see it. Knowing that the Story was about to start, and not really wanting to face the rage of the two beauties, the other person in the room leaves as quietly as possible.
Back to the Author, we found Quidixit in a desert island, on realm 777, the Lucky resort. He is seemigly trying to hide from something.
You guys still here? Get away from here. For now it is time for the show to continue!/
Toshiki Kai
Kai kept walking towards the place where the card shone brightest, but was forced to a halt. Aichi wasn't there. Placing the card on his pocket, he was about to leave, however, a voice stopped him.
"My master was waiting you, master Toshiki." The voice was feminine, this much Kai could tell. Looking back, he saw the owner of such a voice.
It was Ultra Rare chauffeur. Ushimaru.
Kai remembered seeing her on an Autograph section. It was broadcast to all of Japan's land. She is someone who don't talk all that much… but what she told did intrigued the brunette.
Seeing no reason to not follow, Kai went ahead with her toward the elevator.
When they entered, she placed a key in a keyhole in the panel. Next thing Kai saw was the elevator panel opening itself and showing a lot of underground floors.
This building had almost 40 floors upward, and Kai doubted that it could have the same number of underground one's. It, however proved wrong when he saw the number where they were heading. 42.
'How the hell does someone have so much money?' Kai's musing was cut to a halt when they picked speed. It was like breaking the sound barrier. They were going so fast that he almost thrown up when, after a few seconds, they stopped.
The door opened and the sight made Kai's hold his breath. The huge room was covered in light. Light that came from computer's monitors, from red lamps, and from a huge holographic table.
In front of said table, was a boy. He was no older than Aichi, but something in him was… different.
It was like Kai was a celestial body being pulled towards a black hole. It was scary, but at the same time, the young Toshiki was amazed by the experience in itself. Like a part of him that he never once knew he had was calling him towards the boy.
His back was facing to them, his long white hair being the only thing Kai could discern from him. When he turned towards the brunette, and they're eyes finally gaze into the kid's golden ones, Kai immediately tenses himself. The boy's eyes were glowing. The same glow that Ren had.
No, it was different. Ren's eyes gleamed in a furious red tone. One that screamed about destruction and chaos. The kid, however, had eyes that wish towards order and love. Like he was all the good in a distant world. A world devastated by war and death. It was like he was the will of that world, searching for the means to achieve peace.
Then, Kai felt his consciousness leave his body. In what seemed like the most surreal experience of his own life, Kai's mind traveled light years of distance in a matter of seconds. He gazed toward the cosmos, gaining infinite knowledge. So much was being putted in his mind that, to avoid an overload of information, his mind came back towards his body.
Kai, on his knees, was grasping for air. Sweat on his face and unfocused eyes, he seemed like he run a marathon while holding the weight of the world on his back. Needless to say, while trying to make sense of that, he was scared as hell.
"What… what the fuck was that…" the young Toshiki asked, his heartbeat skyrocket when Ushimaru forced him back on his feet. Her grasp was strong, which made his eyes focus back on the kid's face.
"Don't look away Toshiki… what I'm about to show you is something that only the selected few can see." The boy, no… the thing in front of Kai spoke.
"Who… no, what are you?" Kai asked, in a tone that he didn't heard himself using in a long time. The tone he used back when he begun to use Kagerou. A tone of pure, unadulterated fear.
It was then that a memory invaded his mind. A distant memory about a dream he has long forgotten.
The dream of when he first used Dragonic Overlord… no. It was the dream of when he first got his avatar.
How could he forget was something that was beyond him. In his dream, he was walking in fire. Dragons where soaring in the sky, with mighty roared on they're wake. There, he saw it. A warrior who stood standing lonely on the battle field. Coated in scarlet scales, branding a sword made of flame, the one who never once bowed his head, forever standing proud.
Dragonic Overlord.
He didn't knew how, he never once saw that unit, but he knew what it was. What it could be. The dragon turned towards him and did something that he never once expected… the invincible warrior bowed towards the younger form of Kai.
"My flame, Legions and sword are yours to command. Thou, who shall wield the ultimate power, will be known forever as 'The Vanguard of Kagerou'." It spoke, in a gruff and mighty voice. Kai then extended his arms towards the Dragon, and the warrior did the same. Then in a flash of light, Kai awoke. After that dream, in his hand was his deck, and in it, was all four copied of Dragonic Overlord. He brushed it off, thinking of it as a present from his uncle, who was taking care of him after his parent's death.
Now, it was different. After that memory, Takuto smiled and once again, Kai's consciousness slipped out of his body. His trip was, however, much more calm and easy to be made.
When he found himself free from the grasp of the momentum from his trip, he found himself once again in Cray. This time however, he was in a fortress. No, it was a prison. Inside, he saw Blaster Blade, chained up, without the ability to move. Sensing a presence behind himself, he turned back and looked towards his unit. Dragonic Overlord.
"You know what to do to free himself. Why don't you cooperate?" The overlord asked his longtime rival.
"Do you really think that they will free me after I reveal the secrets of United Sanctuary? I know you have placed your faith in the Dragonic Empire, but we both known that your leaders are not dumb enough to allow the user of the sacred blade to go back to his home. To they're enemies army?"
"Ahmes, I will help on your case! Please… just give me a chance." The Dragon replied his long time rival, trying to argue with the swordsman.
"I'm thankful for you're help. Trust me, I really am… but… even if I didn't had the prospect of dying after spilling the beans… I would never betray my friends… just like I know they won't betray me." Ahmes said, towards the immense dragon.
Sighting, Dragonic Overlord turned his back on Ahmes. Walikig towards the huge size door, he simply said.
"Suit yourself. If you really want to stay here forever…" his speech came to a halt when explosions began to happen in the base of the fortress.
"Sir, the members of Royal Paladins are here!" A new dragon, one that looked a lot like Undeux, came running, which made the eyes of Kai widened in surprise. Then it became pure happiness. He had a feeling that Aichi was coming. "Also, I don't know what it is, but another clan is fighting against them."
"That is incorrect." Ahmes said, closing his eyes, and when he opened them back, he had a contemplative look on them. "Dragonic Overlord. I highly suggest that you fight against this new clan with all your might… I don't know what they are, but I doubt that any clan on Cray would be foolish enough to attack this place with both of us being here."
The Overlord looked contemplative for a moment, but then sighted. With a swing from his blade, all of Blaster Blade clutches were cut.
"If that's truth, then no use in fighting with only half of our armies capabilities. Undeux, go and tell our corps to attack the unknown clan… then, we will take care of the Royal Paladins."
"But sir…" Undeaux said, eyeing Ahmes. He was massaging his sore body.
"I'll take responsibility if things go south. Now go!" The dragon order his kin, and Ahmes stood up, materializing his sword and cutting through the walls.
"I… thank you. I really glad to be able to fight alongside you." Ahmes said, jumping out of the wall opening. Dragonic Overlord then went by the stairs.
"Don't mention it, you idiot. I'm doing this because only you can make me achieve new heights."
Kai extended his hand towards Overlord, seeing his avatar going to battle the invaders. He, however, couldn't reach him. Not only that, but when he felt his astral body being pulled back towards earth. Opening his eyes, Kai looked dumbstruck at what was on his hand. A new Dragonic Overlord Unit.
Looking towards Takuto, he saw him smiling.
"They will be here in an hour or so. The time in Cray is different after all. So tell me, how about we play a little, to pass the time?"
Kai only nodded. He went towards the holographic table. Then, his eyes met with his opponent. Both of them placed they're starter on the table.
"Stand up, (The) Vanguard!" Both Kai and Takuto said, in unison.
"Lizard Soldier, Conroe." Kai announced. In the vanguard circle, a hologram of Conroe appears.
"Silver Lion cub, Caria!" A little girl, wearing a silver plated armor, with blue highlights and silver locks appear's in the vanguard circle of Takuto's side.
'Royal Paladin… however, I never heard of that unit.' Kai though, with expectations towards this challenge.
"I'll start. Stand and Draw." Takuto exclaimed, taking the Brunette out of his musings. He drew a card from his deck, and with a small smile, he took one of the cards in the middle of his hand. "Ride, Lake Maiden, Lien. I'll also move Caria back." the Tatsunagi proclaimed, and the little girl became a beautiful woman. She was wearing blue robes and had an angelic face. "Lien skill. By resting her and discarding a card from my hand, I can draw one from the deck." Takuto discarded his end left card, which surprised Kai by what it was. It was a unit known as "Singular Lion, Blueish Ezel." a grade three that the Toshiki didn't even once heard before.
"I stand and Draw." Said Kai, drawing a card from his deck. "Ride, Dragon Monk, Gojo. Conroe moves to the middle-back rearguard. I attack."
"No guard." Takuto said, a small smile dancing on his lips.
"Check for a drive trigger." Kai said, and smiled. He got a critical trigger. "Power and critical to the vanguard.
"I check for a damage trigger." Takuto closed his eyes for a second. And when he opened them back. They shone with a golden glow. "Get, draw trigger. Power goes to the Vanguard and I draw a card. Second check. No trigger."

"So you also have this power!" Kai angrily shouted. Ushimaru was about to scold him, but stopped when Takuto rose his hand.
"Say, Toshiki Kai… why are you scared of Psyqualia?"
"What?!" Kai almost jumped on the gray-headed, but stopped when he saw the look on Takuto's face.
"Think for a moment. Why did you run from Suzugamori Ren? When I caught notice of this, I could only think that you were afraid of his power… but why have fear of one's power when you should fear the person himself?" Takuto explained.
Kai was at a loss. Was he afraid of Psyqualia? Was this why he run. Was this why he was in a desperate search for power?
'No! Don't let he get in your head.' Kai thought, shaking off those thoughts. But then his eyes widened. "How do you know all of that?"
"Let's just said that I trained Ren to use his power after your little fall out with him." The boy explained, then he drew. "Ride. Beast Knight, Garmore" The woman transformed herself on a young knight. In his hands he had claw-like edges and his long, brown hair waved on his back. "Garmore skill. I discard Lien and then I call this one. Come forth, Snogal." The gray-headed said, calling a high-beast from his deck. Immediately, the hologram of a Siberian Husky appeared in the back-left rearguard. "Next, I call Ezel Bringer." In front of Snogal, a man with blond locks appeared. His hair was a lion-like mane and he wore a full set silver armor with blueish highlights. "Bringer Skill. When he is placed, I counterblast one and place him and one other unit in the soul, and then I can superior ride a grade three "Ezel" unit from the drop zone."
"Then that's why…" Kai trailed off, understanding why his opponent discarded a grade three unit.
"Superior Ride! Come forth, oh Lion who came from a different world. Thee who art Cray's Will, the one who bares the future's weight! Singular Lion, Blueish Ezel!" The beast knight transformed himself on a Blue haired young man. He had blue eyes, and a silver like armor that was opened on his chest. In his hands were twin swords. "Singular Lion, Blueish Ezel skill! When he's superior ridden, if I have three or more card's in the soul, I can make one rearguard circle became a Singularity Point! I'll choose the front-right circle."
"Singularity point?" Kai asked aloud. He didn't knew what a Singularity Point was, but, somehow, that name was familiar. No, it was more than that. It gave him somewhat of… hope.
"Yes… back in the beginning of Vanguard, it was the power to give powerful abilities to your rearguard circles, but given how hard it actually was to achieve the conditions to create a single Singularity, people stopped using it in favor of cheaper skills. If I recalled right, the last pro player who used this strategy and was able to win world class tournaments was named Nitta Shinemon."
By saying this, Kai's head quickly brought him to the image of Nitta Shin, laughing awkwardly when fell with the newer products of the shop. His eyebrow twitched with the mere idea of that guy being a world-class player.
'No way in hell!' He shut down these thoughts. He couldn't accept that the manager of a run-down shop such as Nitta Shin was a legendary fighter. Absolutely no way in hell. 'It must be another person with an almost identical name. Yes, that's it.' Kai sighted, wanting to believe in a self made lie other than the cold, harsh truth.
"You look distraught." Takuto playfully said, a small smile dancing on his lips. Kai cursed under his breath. He have to stay focused.
"So, what exactly is this 'skill' that your circle gives you when a unit is placed?" Kai asked, trying to get back to the game.
"Oh, you'll see. I call Prayer of the sacred Arrows, Viviane, Little fighter Tron and Sleygal." Takuto said, summoning a beautiful woman with blue locks, wearing a silver armor in the front-left circle. Behind her, a young man with purple hair and using a giant battle ax. In the back-right rearguard, a little wolf-like creature with a dagger on it's mouth. "Prepare yourself, Toshiki Kai. I'll make sure that you realize that Psyqualia can be used for the greater good." the gray-headed eyes shone on a gold light, signaling his will. "With a boost from Tron, Player of the sacred arrows, Viviane attacks the Vanguard! Tron skill. Plus 4000 power if he boosts a Royal paladin unit and I have 4 or more rearguards."
Kai looked at his hand. He could guard that, but it would be a waste. Against his better judgment, however, he wanted to guard. He didn't knew why, but something in him said him to guard
His pride spoke louder, and he let the attack go through.
"Damage check. No trigger."
"Viviane skill. When she hit's a vanguard, I can counterblast one, and then I superior call a royal paladin from my deck. I call Gallatin." Okay. Kai wasn't expecting that. "Also, Singularity point skill! When a royal paladin unit is called to this circle, I can superior call a royal paladin card from my deck." Takuto looked at his deck carefully and then decided on the card he would call. "I call to the field, Spirits Sage, Fannon! Fannon skill. When he is superior called, I can soul charge two." He said, taking two cards from the top of the deck and putting in the soul.
'Why increase the Soul… could it be?' Kai's eyes widened in realization. Unknown to him, Takuto was analyzing his every reaction, deciding on the best way to make the Toshiki see truth.
"Fannon attacks the Vanguard." Takuto said, attacking for the second time.
"I guard." Kai said, placing a grade zero draw trigger on the Guardian circle.
"Boosted by Sleygal, Gallatin attacks. Sleygal skill. When he boosts a royal paladin unit, and I have more unit's than you, he gains a plus two thousand power."
Seeing the 18000 power coming for him, Kai declared a No guard.
"Damage check. Get, draw trigger. Power to the Vanguard, and I draw one."
"My Vanguard attacks yours."
"That's a no guard."
"Twin drive. First check. Second check. Get, critical trigger." Takuto said, with power on his voice.
"Damage check. First check, second check… No trigger." Suddenly Kai saw himself on the battle field, looking at Takuto's form. No, it was Ezel, but with Takuto's face. Confused, Kai was brought back to earth. "What…"
"I see… you have it as well… no, that's not it. You have something that could become it, but still need to mature…" Takuto mused, with a confused look on his face.
"I… what… do you…" Kai began, looking way too lost from what the young boy in front of him was saying.
"I end my turn… it is up to you now." Takuto said, in an amused tone. He wanted to see how the Toshiki fare against those odds.
"I stand and draw! I ride. Dragon Knight, Nehalem! Then I call Wyvern Strike Tejas, Jarran and Flame Edge Dragon!" Kai said, filling his field. Tejas and Jarran were called in the left column and Flame Edge was called on the right, "Flame Edge attacks Fannon!"
"No guard." Takuto said, sending Fannon to the drop zone.
"Flame edge skill. Soul charge one!" Kai said, then he rested his vanguard. "Boosted by Conroe, Nehalem attacks!"
"Guard." Takuto said, with a small smile, placing a draw trigger he checked on the second turn."
"Check the drive trigger. No trigger." Kai then saw the card he drew. It was his new card, "Dragonic Overlord, The Rival". He smirked. With this, and the Overlord on his hand, he just need to survive his opponent next onslaught. "Boosted by Jarran, Tejas attacks the Vanguard. Jarran skill. When he boosts Tejas, plus 4000 power!"
"Very well, no guard." Takuto said, checking his damage trigger and revealing a grade one. "No trigger."
"I end my turn."

Kai looked at his field, then at his damage. Not good. His opponent already shown mastery over Psyqualia, and by the way things are going, he mastered this deck of his as well.
"My move then… I stand and draw!" Takuto screamed, and looking at the top card he drew, he smiled. A smile so sweet that was almost creepy. "Oh thee, who art the will of Cray. Never once broke thy limits, but now, it is time to evolve further beyond. Go, towards a new future! I crossride. Singularity Lion, Azure Ezel!" a light then made itself present. It was a blue, almost azure light, that blinded the Toshiki for a second.
Kai placed his arms in front of his eyes. When the light grew dim, the brunette felt it. It was a weak gentle breeze. It was however, hot. It smell was the same one of a burning wood. Opening his eyes, he then saw it. Dragonic Overlord was fighting against Ezel, and he was loosing.
He tried to reach his vanguard. But he couldn't move himself. He grew frustrated. He was already tired of all this crap.
Every time someone needs him, he can't help. It was that way with Ren, it was that way with Aichi, and now it is that way with his other half. His eyes began to grew humid. Soon enough he was sobbing. He wanted it to stop. He wanted his weakness to cease existing!
The darkness soon enveloped him. The battle field wasn't there anymore, just the immense weight that his weakness brought. He continued to cry his heart out. Emotions he didn't want to recognize, that he didn't want to accept were becoming crystal clear to him.
He was weak. He could beat Ren back then, but he couldn't stop him. He could beat Aichi back then, but he couldn't save him. A sad realization loomed on Kai Toshiki. The way he was now, he couldn't save nor stop no one.
The sound of steps became louder. The young Toshiki, however, didn't had the guts to look at who was coming. A shadow loomed over himself.
"You know, I always hated my job." Takuto voice said, from his side. "Having to see people suffer without being able to do jack shit about it. But… then I decided. I don't need to be a watcher. I don't need to be passive about the events of Cray. If I can help someone achieve my dream, then I won't need to feel heavy."
"What are you trying to imply?" Kai asked, after a second of silence. He heard Takuto giggle.
"All I'm saying is that a change in perspective can save you from yourself." came the young boy answer. Kai didn't saw it, but he knew that Takuto was smiling by the happy tone of his voice. "Just like I stopped seeing the weight I have to carry as a bad thing, if you stop seeing Psyqualia as evil, then you can definitely achieve new heights. What I'm trying to say is, don't hate the power. Just hate what people do with it."
Kai once again felt the breeze of Cray. No, it wasn't a breeze. It was a breath. Looking up, he saw him. His avatar, Dragonic Overlord. He knew it sounded creepy, but with that line of teeth he could almost see a smirk.
"Come on, my Vanguard. Let's aim for new horizons." The beast said, offering Kai his claw. The Toshiki smiled. "Together once more!"
"Yes." the Brunette said, shaking his avatar's claw. When he did that, he felt it. An ancient power awakening inside of him. It was like he was completed once again. He smiled. Now he could see why Ren had so much fun using it. "So that is the sensation of it? Of Psyqualia, that is?" Kai asked, looking at Overlord's yellow eyes. He then saw his own eyes reflected on his Vanguard. They where glowing in a bright red light. Like the purgatory flames of his Vanguard.
His vision then grown blurry, and he found himself looking at Takuto. The boy was smiling brightly.
"Okay, I guess it is enough for now." Kai rose an eyebrow for that, and seeing that, Takuto explained. "It is not Ezel that your Overlord needs to fight. You see, Overlord always wanted to become one of the strongest of the Kagero clan history, if not the strongest, and he understood that, with his battle with Blaster Blade, he needs rival to claim that title. And, his rival and yours are the same."
The brunette connected the dots. Smiling happily, he said the name of the kid he so desperately wanted to meet again. Taking out his card from his pocked, he could only smile with true happiness. It was time to have an unforgettable fight.
"Sendou Aichi and Blaster Blade… correct?" Kai asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yes. He will be here soon." Takuto then colects his cards and smiled softly. "I want to see how this fight will go."
Kai laughted a little. He then said, seeing the inquisitive look on the Gray-head face.
"Can't you see the result? I mean, you are the watcher, aren't you?"
"I am but… there are things that even Psyqualia can't correctly determinate the result. One of them is a fight Between two Psyqualia Users." Takuto said, picking Kai's interest.
"So Aichi have it as well?"
"Yes, and if the reports Suiko has been sending me are correct, he is very good at using it. I recommend you to do your best, because if what I felt earlier is really him, then if you underestimated him, you won't be able to defeat your friend."
Kai smirked. If that is really true, then Aichi will give him a good challenge. His musings were interrupted by Ushimaru.
"Master Takuto, they're here."
"Good. Let's go meet them."
Sendou Aichi
The blue-berry, with Giovanni, Bucchi and the Ultra Rare sisters in tow, entered the front door of the Tatsunagi foundation Building. If Aichi was feeling rather intimidated by the sheer size of the building, knowing that they would enter there made both Bucchi and Giovanni quite frightened. They never entered such a big place before.
Suiko leaded them toward the elevator, however, before they got the chance to enter, the door opened, revealing to them Takuto and Toshiki Kai.
"Kai?" Aichi asked, somewhat surprised. This was, literally, the second last place he expected meeting the brunette. First one goes to Ultra Rare's Card shop, Psy.
"Hey Aichi." Kai grinned. It wasn't an evil smile, but it wasn't a friendly one either. Aichi knew, by just looking at the Toshiki. That the brunette wanted to fight.
This confused the blue-berry greatly. Why would he want to play against Aichi. What exactly was in for him? And why did he felt so excited by the prospect of fighting off against Kai once more?
Takuto, sensing the raising spirit of the two of them, was rather quickly to bring them towards the elevator.
When everyone entered in the elevator, the gray-headed pushed the top floor button. An amused smirk quickly formed on his lips when they entered his office, and the new comers looked, with wide eyes and open mouths, towards his office.
The walls where made of milky white marbles. The room had a lavender odor, making Kai inwardly remember the lavender haired girl from Card Capital. Each step they took within Takuto's office, they became entranced by how beautiful the paintings and the stone sculptures that where there really were.
A huge candelabrum was in the ceiling of the room. The light there was, however, comfortable enough so that one eyes wouldn't get tired. There was also a couple of bookshelves. All of them held at least 100 books of the most varied subjects. Takuto guided them deeper, until they came towards a huge two-sided door.
Taking a key out of seemingly nowhere, Takuto unlocked and, by pushing the two doors with a lot more force than his frail frame suggested he could, the gray-headed opened both doors. It was then that Aichi and the rest could take a peek at the so called secret room.
It was a place that even the Ultra Rare sisters weren't allowed to enter. The place was an immense white room. It was so bright that Aichi's group had to close they're eyes momentarily. Takuto, however, entered the place without even being bothered by the blinding light,
"System. Prepare field of battle: Mound of the Overlord. The event is: Battle between the Swordsman and the Dragonic one. Cray's date: Year 6425, month 2, day 27."
It was then, by Takuto's command, that the white walls on the place became a huge battle field. Fire was everywhere. The smoke wouldn't allow no one to see much. They could, when they entered there, hear the sounds of it. The smell of it. Heck, Bucchi could even feel the familiar wind that he grew so sick of feeling whenever his mind is transported to Cray.
By clue, When Aichi and Kai entered the place, in the center of the battle field, a fighting table rose from the solid ground. The two didn't even need to look at one another. They didn't even need to know what Takuto was planning. Because they could feel it in they hearts. It was here that they would settle things between the two of them.
Before they could start, Kai took a very familiar card to Aichi, which made the young boy gasp. Seeing this, the brunette smirked. With a swift movement, he threw Blaster Blade in the blueberry direction.
"Your deck won't be complete without it right? Use it against me and try to surpass my current self." Kai said, a small smile dancing on his lips. Aichi saw that, and made a thoughtful look. Smiling brightly, he shook his head, and with the same swiftness from Kai throw, he sent the Blaster Blade back to Kai's hand.
"Sorry, but a vanguard fight loot can only be recovered in a vanguard fight. When we first fought, I lost. This time I will fight with this very deck, and will regain my avatar with it." Aichi said, making Kai widen his eyes in genuine surprise. He didn't expect the boy to grow so much in such a short notice.
"Well, if you want to fight like a grown up, then let's play like you wish." Kai began, and then pointed his index finger towards the blueberry. "Sendou Aichi. If you lose this fight, you shall never again get close to a Vanguard Fight."
"What!" Was the collective gasp of the spectators. Takuto, in special, looked quite annoyed.
"Toshiki Kai, you can't do that…" the Concert Master began, but the voice from the Blueberry stopped everyone.
"Fine."
"But Aichi. If you lose this fight, you won't be able to get your Blaster Blade back. Not only that, but everything you built so far will crumble!" Kourin, who was quiet the entire trip, practically screamed. Aichi wasn't, however, fazed by it.
"Trust me on this Kourin." The young boy said with a confident smile, which made Kourin's heart flutter a little. It was a mix of fear for her friend and… something that she has yet to acknowledge. "Besides… if I can surpass this wall, I'll never be able to defeat the king." Aichi spoke in a soft tone, with a troubled look.
Takuto was expecting the Ultra Rare to come here with Aichi to ask for permission to something. He wasn't expecting, however, that the request was to go to a battlefield. He gave Suiko a dangerous glare. One that the oldest sibling of the group was well aware of it's meaning: We will talk about this later.
Aichi placed his starter Vanguard on the table, and Kai did the same. Behind one another, an image of they're avatars appeared, as if supporting both of the fighters in the battle that was to come.
Kai one was crystal clear. It was Dragonic Overlord. Aichi was looking at the dragon's eyes, no hint of the fear he had all the weeks back when he first started training with Ultra Rare bunch. His might sword didn't scare him. His hot breath didn't faze him. The blue-berry was smirking.
The brunette looked confused towards Aichi's back. He was well aware of the gigantic dragon behind him, and he had a suspect of what Aichi's avatar would be. So why was he surprised? Because instead of only Blaster Blade, on Aichi's back there was the swordsman of light in the right and Gancelot himself on the left. Almost like they were both helping Aichi overcome his obstacles.
Kai smirked. This would be a good fight, indeed.
"Stand up, (the) Vanguard!" both rivals cried, both having they're avatars changed to they're starters and both activating they're Psyqualia. The air around Aichi gleamed in an ominous blue, in contrast, a flame-like aura was outlining Kai's body.
Looking at the reddish glow on Kai's eyes, Aichi gasps in surprise. He smirked and asked towards his rival.
"So you also have it."
"Yeah. Obtained it just a couple minutes ago."
"I see. I better give my best then." Aichi said, and with an arrogant smirk, and a sarcastic tone he corrected himself. "No, it wouldn't be enough to fare against ya. If I want to win, I need to use way more than 100%" The last comment was, however, filled with sincere concern and acknowledge. Aichi still has yet to uncover the mysteries about his Psyqualia and what was that strange light that he used against the Reversed Bucchi, and this would be the best chance he have to do it.
"I'll take the first turn." Kai said, drawing a card from his deck. "Ride, dragon monk Gojo. Move Conroe back with forerunner. Gojo's skill. Rest him, discard a card and draw another one." Kai said, discarding a draw trigger.
"Stand and draw. Ride, Wingal. Move Guinevere back with Forerunner, and call to the back-row. Lake Maiden, Lien. Lien skill. Rest her and draw a card." Aichi discarded a draw trigger as well. "Boosted by Guinever, Wingal attacks."
"No guard." Kai said, looking briefly at the future, a smirk forming on his face. Aichi grew worried. He knew what was about to come, but he didn't back down. He needed the card he was going to check anyway.
"Drive check. No trigger." The blue-berry said, revealing Knight of the Lake, Gancelot.
"Damage check. Get, draw trigger. Power to Gojo and I draw a card." Kai couldn't help but smirk. He already had all the cards that he needed to achieve his crossride.

"I stand and draw. Ride. Dragon Knight, Nehalem!" Kai screamed, and the monk that was behind him transformed himself in a mighty knight on top of a giant red dragon. "I activate Conroe special counterblast. By retiring him, I search for a grade one card from my deck and add it to my hand. I choose Guard dragon, Barri." the Brunette said, adding the sentinel to his hand. "Next, I call another Nehalem and embodiment of armor, Bahr to the rearguard." Both units appeared in the left side and behind the vanguard respectively.
Aichi tensed himself for what was to come. He knew from psyqualia what would happen. What he didn't knew was how powerful Kai exactly became when he attained his power.
"Ready Aichi? My Vanguard attacks!"
"I won't guard."
"Drive check. Get, critical trigger. Power to Nehalem on the rearguard and critical to the Vanguard."
"I check the damage trigger. First check, no trigger… second check." Closing his eyes and flaring his aura, Aichi used his Psyqualia's main ability. "Get, heal trigger. I recover on damage and power to the Vanguard.
"Whoa, Aichi sure dodged a bullet there." Giovanni said, cheering for his friend.
'So that's how it is… a fight between Psyqualia users.' Bucchi though. Unknown to almost everyone there, the ex-reverse user was sensing the power from both fighters. Even Bucchi couldn't explain how but, he could feel the Imagination Score from another players. This was overlooked by almost everybody on the room. Almost being the key word there.
'So, it seems that the Reverse did manage to unlock some of this youngster hidden potential. Interesting.' Was all the Tatsunagi heir thought.
"It is yet to be over. Boosted by Bahr, Nehalem attacks the Vanguard."
Aichi smiled and declared a no guard. Kai was surprised at first. On they're first fight, the young boy was always scared and guarded with his all.
"Check the damage trigger. No trigger." Aichi said, with a small smile. Everything was going fine. He just needs to use more and more of his power ability.
"It seems you got stronger since last time, Aichi." Kai smirked, and then prepared himself to the vision he would get from his turn. 'This sure is weird. I remember seeing he would get a draw trigger last turn… so why did it change? Could it be that… no. It is just impossible.'
"I stand and draw." Aichi smirked. Gancelot was on his hand, and with it there is no telling what he could or couldn't do. "The knight on a shinning armor who wears pride in his noble wings, as he confidently strides through the lake. Come forth, Knight of the Lake, Gancelot." Aichi cried and then, both vanguards who where behind the Psyqualia users began to shift they're forms. Gancelot changed just a little. Enough to be a little younger. Dragonic Overlord, however, changed himself until he became Nehalem. Both units raised they're weapons towards the sky and, with a booming thunder, two more units appeared on both players sides. On Kai, they were another Nehalem and a Bahr, both looked impassive. On Aichi's side, however, it was Guinevere, who looked at Gancelot with fists balled on a silent pray, and concerned eyes, and also Lien, who looked at both of them with a cold yet pained face.
"You know… I always wondered why did the Gancelot cards, who were announced to come out on the last booster, where canceled. But now I guess I know." All eyes went directly to the Toshiki, who looked with sad eyes towards Gancelot and Guinevere. "According to the lore, Gancelot had a forbidden relation with Queen Guinevere. When king Alfred found out, he ordered the exile of Gancelot and the execution of Guinevere… when I look at both, I can't really see anything else other than two souls who loved each other."
"Yeah… it is pretty sad. However, this taught me one thing." Aichi exclaimed, looking at Gancelot. The knight merely nodded, allowing him to continue. "My first fight as a Psyqualia user was against Kourin. She used an Alfred deck." Kai's eyes widened in realization. Aichi smiled weakly at him. "It seems you understand. Each fight we Vanguards fought has consequences on Cray's. This whole battle that is happening" Aichi opened his arms in a way to emphasize his point, and everyone looked at the battlefield across them. Numerous units where fighting. Flames were spreading and energy blasts were fired by both sides. Seeing this, Kai gulped a lump that was on his dry throat. "is because I lost Blaster Blade. I don't know how I know this, but I feel it deep inside my soul. The desire and reasons for this fight. Do you understand, Kai? If one fight can alter a unit destiny, a fight between Psyqualia users can affect an entire nation. THAT IS WHY I CAN'T LOSE. I ACTIVATE GANCELOT SKILL! WHEN HE IS PLACED ON THE VANGUARD, I COUNTERBLAST ONE AND IF I DO, THIS CARD GAINS AN EXTRA CRITICAL AND AN EXTRA DRIVE!"
Kai widened his eyes. Having an extra drive while still on grade two can give Aichi a great edge in this fight. Unfortunately for the Blueberry, after hearing all that, the Toshiki doesn't plan on losing.
"I call to the field, Gallatin and Akane!" the older Sendou said, and behind him appeared, on his left a redheaded Dog breeder and at his right, the knight of silence made his presence known. "My Gallatin attacks the Vanguard."
"Nehalem intercepts."
"Boosted by Guinever, Gancelot is coming at you."
"I guard with Barri!"
"Check the drive trigger." Aichi said, and Kai felt his power skyrocketing for a moment. He finally understood what the blue haired boy most fearsome power actually was in the following moment. "Get, critical trigger. Second check. Get, draw trigger. All effects to Akane." Kai eyes widened in realization. It wasn't simply luck.
"Aichi you… your Psyqualia can manipulate the triggers?" The Toshiki exclaimed, with somewhat of surprise and anticipation on his voice.
"Almost… my Psyqualia allows me to manipulate the probable futures and choose the one that is the best for me." Aichi said, with a small smile.
Takuto, hearing this, glared intently at the Ultra Rare Bunch. His eyes only said one thing: "When were you planning on telling me this?"
"I'm sorry Takuto, we just discovered this ability from Aichi earlier today." Suiko whispered with a low voice, not allowing anyone to hear.
"Amazing… your power is really grand." The brunette began, but Aichi beats him on it.
"Too early to be saying that. Boosted by Lien, Akane attacks. With the lady of the lake power, this column has 25000 and an extra critical!"
Kai looked at his hand and grimaced. While he didn't like to take two damage, especially considering his future, he didn't want to use all of his hand to guard against it.
"I won't guard. Check for the damage trigger. First check, second check… no trigger." Kai said, placing the grade one and two on the damage zone.

Aichi was smiling. Not a friendly one, it was an evil smirk. One that you only see in the lips of someone who was looking at the prospect of revenge. Kai, looking at this, couldn't help but feel pained. It reminded him a lot of Ren.
"What's the matter Kai? It is your turn now." Aichi's voice carried a tone of innocence that was so fake that sent chills back in the spine of the Ultra rare bunch and his friends from the alley. Kai, however, wasn't intimidated.
"Yeah… just thinking about the past. I stand and draw." Kai steeled himself, knowing that now he have the chance to do right. To actually help someone, and it is thanks to Psyqualia. Therefore, he won't back down like he first did with Ren. "Flame of apocalypse that burns away everything in this world! Ride the vanguard! Dragonic Overlord!" The dragon knight grew and morphed to the dragon warrior lord that first fought against Aichi.
The young boy looked afraid at first. The pressure the warrior excluded was immense. The first time he fought against it, Aichi could feel the heat from the flames of it's breath. Now, however, with both fighters awakening they're hidden potential, it was like the Overlord of Kagero was in front of him.
His insecurity was dismissed when he felt the gentle touch of Blaster Blade on his shoulder. Turning back, he only met air and the steely gaze of Gancelot. It was clear to Aichi what that look said.
Shaking his head, he softly smiled.
'That's right… I made a promise haven't I…' Aichi thought, and his scared look soon turned in a determined look. One that was a lot like Gancelot.
Seeing this, Kai couldn't help but smile. The boy in front of him did grew a lot in the past weeks, after all.
"Get ready Aichi. I won't go easy on you this time!"
"I would be insulted if you did."
Both rivals shared a smile against each other, which made the spectators amazed by the sportsmanship they were displaying at the other, even with the stakes being so high to Aichi, and this fight mattering all it did to Kai.
It was like two lost brothers reuniting after who knows how much. It was endearing and… sad at the same time.
"I call! Two Burning horn Dragon! And to the back row, I call two Flame of promise, Aermo!" Kai announced, with power in his voice. His aura, that just covered a few centimeters of his body erupted and was like a flame covered the Toshiki from head to toe.
Aichi steeled himself. This was going to be hard, especially knowing the Toshiki record on drawing triggers.
Kai activated it's Psyqualia main ability and saw in his future that he was going to need all the cards he could. Knowing this, but also checking on the possible future of his next play, he decided to not use Overlord's effect.
"Boosted by Aermo, Burning Horn attacks the Vanguard!" Kai declared, shocking everyone without Psyqualia in the room.
"Why didn't he use the Overlord skill?" Rekka asked aloud, but to everyone surprise, it was Takuto who answered.
"Amazing… so you can see possible outcomes from your choice too, Toshiki?" This did surprise everyone there. Ultra rare because of the fact that Takuto, someone who rarely interrupts a fight, was answering on his behalf. The alley duo because of the possibility of this ability.
"Yeah… it is limited to a few plays, I can't see Aichi's next turn with this ability, but I guess it is quite useful as it is." Kai answered, with a smirk of his own. Aichi also smiled.
"It is a powerful ability. Especially knowing the stage of development your Psyqualia is at." The Tatsunagi Heir answered, his eyes glowing in gold, looking at the possible futures of this fight. He knew how useful that power was. It granted the user a limited omniscience in a fight, and may even give him full omniscience if matured correctly. To have such a power in such a young Psyqualia was beyond amazing.
"Well, congrats Kai. However, my power is way bigger than that!" Aichi screamed, placing a critical trigger on the guardian circle and passion burning in his eyes. He was clearly more interested in they're fight than just chit-chat.
"Boosted by Aermo, my Vanguard attacks!" Kai corresponded Aichi passion with an equally loud scream.
"I'll humor you. No guard!" Aichi said, with a small, sadistic smile. He knew what was coming, and he knew for a fact that it would be a handful to guard.
"Check the twin drive. First check, second check… no trigger." Kai said, looking at the sentinel and the grade two on his hand. It would help on his next turn, but he have more pressing matters.
"Damage check…" Aichi's power skyrocket once again, and he got a draw trigger. Which resulted on his vanguard having plus 5000 power and his hand increasing in size.
"Boosted by Bahr, the second Burning Horn attacks… Gallatin." Kai said, after a brief pause, which showed Aichi he was using his Psyqualia ability to it's fullest too.
Aichi paused for a moment to think. He would need a 15000 shield to guard that one, and Gallatin by himself was a useful unit, with 10000 power. Knowing that thinking wouldn't help, Aichi looked at his future. The power from this column would be necessary if he wanted to cause a lot of damage.
"I intercept with Akane. Not only that, but I also guard with Flogal." Aichi screamed, getting rid of two cards to preserve the field presence.
"Not a bad play…" Kourin said, with a half smile.
"How so?" Giovanni asked, interested in how that would affect the battle and to everyone surprise, Bucchi answered.
"In his next turn he will ride Knight of bounds, Gancelot. Given Gancelot skill, it would make sense that Aichi wanted to call Toypugal and Palamedes, and then activating Gancelot second skill, which would meant that Gallatin column would have 25000 power alone. Not only that, but the same would be true to Palamedes and Lien…" Bucchi explained, but stopped midway, seeing everyone looking at him with surprised expressions. Well, almost everyone. "What? Something funny on my face?"
"No… it's just…" Suiko began, but didn't know how to proceed.
"You don't strike as the strategist type." Rekka answered, in a flat tone. Needless to say, Bucchi was outraged.
Even if he wanted to answer that, he detained himself. They were right. He usually didn't saw that far in Vanguard.
"Guess I just saw that combination too many times…" Bucchi wondered, waving off the strange fact that those words came naturally to him. Almost as breathing.
Everyone then came back to the game that was taking place in front of they're eyes.
"My move then. I stand and draw!" Aichi exclaimed and began his chant. A chill found it's way to everyone that had access to extrasensory powers in the place. Takuto, since his was a lot stronger than others, just felt a small change of temperature in the room. Kai, and to some extend, Bucchi, however felt the strong desire to win. To defeat it's opponent. To kill it's enemies. It was the power of a knight who strove through sin and would do anything and go to any lengths to find his redemption.
'What the hell is this…' Kai and Bucchi though together, as they could feel the air changing around them.
"The knight in shinning armor who wears pride in his noble wings. He, who never had fallen in battle, yet never once was able to obtain what he truly wished. Come forth, oh prideful knight. I ride, Proud knight, Gancelot!"
It was at that moment, with a twisted smile, that Aichi felt his power once again be increased by a huge margin. He chuckled darkly, his grin only increasing in size. Psyqualia could, after all, warp the mind of it's users.
"Ready Kai… this one will be a huge blow." Aichi told his rival. Kai could only smile darkly as well. He was exited in this fight. Something that didn't happened in a long time.
