Explanation on Dante Devil Arms: Dante will get his Devil Arms from the bosses he and Miriam will defeat in the castle. The devil arms will pay homage to the DMC franchise weapons throughout the series. That means Dante will be getting weapons that were in DMC1, DMC2, DMC3, DMC4, DmC (Reboot), and maybe DMC5. Ophion (Devil form) from the last chapter is from the DmC (Reboot).

Explanation on Dante Styles Changing: In the original/special edition and the HD collections of DMC 3, Dante can only change his style at the Mission start screen or at a Divinity statue. The Nintendo Switch version can now have him switch his styles anytime. This story will allow Dante to switch between the styles anytime.

Miriam Shards: Miriam will use a few shards instead using all them as that will be too much and will just make the story kind of confusing on what ability she using.

Now that explanations are done…. It's time to get on with the show!

-Galleon Minerva End of Forecastle deck/Ship Bow-

"Who are you?" The woman asked.

"Dante." Dante answered. "What your name, Babe?"

"Miriam." Miriam answered. "How did you get that weapon from that demon? Are you some kind of Shardbinder that the alchemy guild doesn't know about? How did it fuse into your sword?

"Look, Miriam." Dante said. "I'll tell you after we reach somewhere safe."

Miriam nodded at Dante request.

'Can I trust this man? He doesn't seem bad but he appeared out of nowhere.' Miriam thought.

"MIRIAM." Shouted a voice she recognized.

Two men came running towards them. One of the men was Leon, but the other man was someone that Dante didn't recognize.

He had dirty blonde hair that was wrapped in a ponytail and sported a small beard. He was wearing glasses, a white sleeveless vest, 3 black belts on each arm, a belt that carried his pouches, brown strap that carried a book, blue pants, and wore brown boots. Underneath his white vest was a green long sleeve shirt.

"Johannes." Miriam responded. "Are you all right?"

"Yes." Johannes answered. "I see you met Dante."

"Yes." Miriam said. "He helped me defeat the Vespar."

"I see." Johannes said.

He walked to Dante and began to introduce himself to him.

"Pleasure meeting you, Dante. My name is Johannes. Leon told me about you and how you saved him." Johannes said. "Thank you for assisting Miriam."

"Pleasure is all mine." Dante said. "But I'm going to need some help."

"I'll see what I can do when we reach the safe point." Johannes said.

"Were there any other survivors?" Miriam asked.

"I'm afraid that we are only the survivors." Johannes said.

Miriam took a moment to give a silent condolence for those who didn't make it.

"All right, what our next plan of action?" Leon asked.

"We're going to meet our contact at our stop." Johannes answered.

A few minutes later…

They reached Arantville and stopped the ship by crashing it into a rock.

-Arantville-

Arantville looked like a village that belonged in the 17th century. Unfortunately, the village was in shambles. Houses were severely damaged, carriages and carts were left on the street, blood on street and, various other parts of the village already destroyed. Behind the village were a giant castle where all the demons reside and a blood-red moon.

"We're here." Johannes said.

"Was this a village? What happened to it…? The demons Gebel summoned." Miriam questioned.

"They've moved faster than we hoped." Johannes answered. "Miriam and Dante, we have to hurry. This was where we were supposed to meet our contact."

"All right, but wait let me clear the area." Miriam said. "They are still Demons here; you and Leon stay back."

"Got it." Leon said as Johannes nodded his head.

"Dante, will you help me get rid of these demons?" Miriam asked.

"Of course." Dante answered. "Demon hunting is my job."

"Thank you." Miriam said.

Miriam and Dante began running off ready to slay the demons.

'I'm glad that we might have another potential ally for this mission. Those two might be able to get rid of the demons once and for all. Let's just hope that our contact is still safe.' Johannes thought.

A few minutes later…

Dante and Miriam quickly slaughtered the demons that were in their way. Dante learned that hitting the blue flames gives him random loot of gold which was strange to him, but didn't question it since it was easy money to him. He also discovered a random chest that gave him and Miriam 250 gold each.

Both of them reached the middle of the village. They saw a little blonde girl crawling away from one of those black form creatures that takes on a human-like form when someone gets close to them. Another blonde woman who dressed as a nun stepped in front of the little ready to act as a human shield against the demon.

"Miriam." Dante said as he pulled out Ophion. "Get Ready"

Dante used the demonic whip to grab the demon and pulled it towards Miriam who ended its life with a kick once it got close to her. Once the demon started to turn into mist, he switched to Rebellion. The duo searched the are for any other demons, but it's seems that they cleared the area.

"Thank you, Miriam and your companion." The nun said while suspiciously observing Dante.

She had long blonde hair that covered her left eye. She wearing a black hat, a white bib collar that has gold accents in the end, a black top that had a rear tail and also had gold accents on the sleeve, black pants with a white and orange thigh belt on her left leg, black gloves with gold accents, and black high heels with gold accents.

"You who I am? Then that means..." said Miriam.

She didn't get to finish her explanation when Johannes came running toward them.

"I'm sorry we couldn't get here sooner Dominque." Johannes apologized.

"So, this our contact." said Miriam.

"Yes, the church the sent me." The nun said who now identified as Dominique.

"An exorcist? Then we're to have you, Dominque." Miriam said.

"And the church thanks you, Miriam and your companion. Thank you for guiding them here, Johannes." Dominque said. "Although, I do not know your companion name."

"His name is Dante." Miriam responded.

"Then thank you Dante." Dominque said.

"No problem." Dante replied.

"You wouldn't ask if it was important. But you should tell us why you need Miriam. She isn't one to shy away from danger." Johannes said. "She deserves to be armed with all of the facts."

"Yes, very well." Dominque said. "I told you when I contact you that the Shardbinder Gebel is responsible for summing the castle."

"Yes, there's no mistake about that. He admitted as much." Miriam said.

"What? You spoke to him." Johannes shockingly said.

"I hate to interrupt your lovely conversation." Dante said. "But who is this Shardbinder Gebel?"

"I was getting to that." Dominique said. "How about we talk inside our base?"

"Where exactly is our base?" Johannes asked.

"The house right behind us." Dominque answered. "It looks secure and has a lot of space in the basement so each of us can have some space for our own workshops.

Johannes simply nodded his head.

Dominique turned around to the girl she defended earlier.

She blonde hair which was rope braided that held together by a red bowtie and green eyes. She was wearing a blue sailor hoodie, a green dress, a white tie, and brown shoes. She was carrying a brown pouch.

"Hello there, what is your name?" Dominque said sweetly.

"Anne." She introduced herself.

"What a lovely name." Dominque complimented. "Anne you shouldn't be out here. Let me take you somewhere safe."

"Oh, all right." Anne said. "May I thank those two who saved us before we go."

"Of course." Dominque said sweetly.

Anne walked up to Miriam and Dante.

"Thank you for saving me and of Dominque from that demon." Anne said.

"No problem kiddo." Dante replied smiling.

"It was nothing." Miriam said.

"You guys were awesome." Anne complimented. "You two are a totally awesome husband and wife monster-hunting duo."

Dominique and Johannes looked at Anne as if she grown a second head. Dante was starting to chuckle and Miriam just froze trying to process what she has just said.

'Did she just say that Dante was my husband?' though Miriam blushing somewhat hard.

"Sorry kiddo, but we aren't in a relationship of that kind." Dante said. "I've just met her a while ago."

"Oh, I'm sorry." Anne apologized.

"It's all good." Dante said accepting her apology.

Johannes coughed in hands getting every attention.

"Guys, we still have work to do." Johannes said.

"I agree." Dominique said. "I also got questions for Dante."

Miriam stopped blushing and the five began to walk inside the house. Before Johannes went inside the house. Dante stopped him.

"Johannes, where Leon?" Dante asked.

"He going to help the other villagers who survived." Johannes answered.

Satisfied with his answer, the two went inside the house.

-HQ-

The five proceeded to go inside the house and was instructed by Dominque to sit at a table that was near them while she escorted Anne somewhere safe. Dante placed Rebellion right beside him and Dominque came a few moments later with tea which she gave to every member at the table.

"I hope you all like it." Dominque said. "It's green tea if want you to know what kind of tea I made."

"It's good." Miriam complimented after she took a sip of her tea.

"I agree." Johannes said after he drank some of his tea.

Dante on the other hand, didn't even take a sip of his tea. So many questions were running through his mind right now.

What does that demon back at the Belmont church want to meet his master? Who is his master? How does Miriam absorb the crystals? Why is the church involved in this matter? The number of questions that Dante was thinking of based upon the situation was a bit staggering.

"Dante." Miriam called his name causing Dante to snap out of his thoughts.

"Yeah." Dante said sheepishly.

"You were spacing out." Miriam said.

"Sorry about that." Dante replied. "I was thinking about somethings that all."

"Like what?" Dominque asked

"Who is this Shardbinder Gebel? What is a Shardbinder anyway?" Dante asked.

"A Shardbinder is someone who has the ability to harness the power from Shards. Shards are demon powers that have been crystallized whenever a demon is killed. Demons don't drop shards all the time so it's actually pretty rare to get them from a demon." Johannes explained.

"That means Miriam is a Shardbinder." Dante deduced.

"Correct." Johannes said. "Those marking on her skin aren't tattoos. The marking on Miriam's skin is what allows her to absorb the shards.

"Must be painful to absorb those shards." Dante commented.

"You have no idea." Miriam said.

"And I'm this Gebel person is also Shardbinder who is responsible for all this." Dante said.

"I believe so." Johannes said. "Although, the best way to really confirm is to get it out of his mouth."

Dante slums back on his chair already expecting some sort of person who let power change them into doing evil actions.

"Dante, we still got questions for you" Miriam said.

"Ask away." Dante said lazily.

"Are you a Shardbinder?" Miriam asked. "You got a whip-like weapon from the Vespar, but it didn't take a form of a Shard. It got fused into your sword and you can bring it out whenever you want."

"You mean like this." Dante said as he held Rebellion right in front of him and changed it to Ophion.

Miriam felt something when Dante changed his weapon. It's something she couldn't describe but it felt like she uses that ability too. Johannes and Dominique looked shocked as he is able to change his weapon from a sword to a whip.

"I'm not a Shardbinder. Whenever I defeat a demon who's more powerful than the others, I get their soul which manifests into a weapon of any kind. "Dante said as he changes his weapon back to Rebellion. "They are called Devil arms."

"How do you do that?" Johannes asked.

"One of my abilities is to take souls of demons if their soul is powerful enough." Dante answered.

"I have never heard of a person who can do that." Dominque said. "If I did know, then the church would have known by now. Where do you even come from?"

"USA." Dante answered.

Dominque raised an eyebrow at his answer.

"You're telling me that you traveled across the sea to slaughter the demons here in Great Britain." Dominque stated.

"Not exactly." Dante replied. "Let me tell you that the next part I'm going to say is something you won't believe me."

Johannes, Dominque, and Miriam were very curious on Dante was going to say.

"I'm from the future." Dante said. "Year 20XX to be exact."

All three took a moment to process the words that Dante just said.

"WHATTT!" All three of them shouted at the same time.

"It's true." Dante said.

He used his spatial magic to bring out the dead cell phone.

"You see this." Dante said as opened the white flip phone revealing black glass on the top half while the bottom half had a couple of arrow buttons and numeric buttons right underneath it.

"What is that Dante?" Dominque asked.

"It's called a cell phone." Dante answered. "You basically can use it to talk to people anywhere in the world."

"That amazing." Johannes said in awe. "That little object can talk to anyone, anywhere. How does that even work?"

"It complicated." Dante said. "Try holding it, but don't drop it."

Dante passed the cell phone to Johannes. Johannes started to press the buttons on the phone. He couldn't identify the materials the phone was made out nor he can find a way to talk to people with it.

"Dante, what is this made out of?" Johannes asked.

"Plastic" Dante answered.

"How do try talking to someone with this thing?" Johannes asked.

"It out of battery." Dante answered.

"Battery?" Johannes asked confusingly.

"Its the power needed to use the phone" Dante clarified.

Johannes passed the phone to Miriam who fumbled with a phone for a bit who then passed it on to Dominque who played with a phone for a bit. After trying out the dead cellphone by mashing its button, she returned back to Dante who put it back in his spatial dimension earning himself another shock from the people around him.

"How did you put the phone away?" Johannes asked.

"I put in a personal dimension that I can use store things." Dante answered.

'Amazing.' Johannes thought.

"That incredible." Miriam said in awe. "I can only that with my shards that are fused into my markings."

"Then what are you doing in the year 1793?" Dominque asked.

"That the thing I don't really know." Dante answered. "I got called to exterminate a demon which turned out to be a trap and sent me here."

"Why did the demon want to do that?" Miriam asked.

"He told me that he wanted me to meet his master before he died." Dante answered.

"Do you know who his master is?" Dominque asked.

"No." Dante answered.

"Then what are you?" Dominque asked.

"I'm a half-demon half-human hybrid" Dante answered.

Neither of them just didn't believe what they heard. Demons are normal evil being who caused harm to humans, but he claims to be a half-demon half-human hybrid.

"I don't believe you at all." Johannes said.

"That fine by me." Dante said. "Look as much as I want to go into my origin story. I'm afraid we still have a castle full of demons to stop."

All three of them wanted to know more about Dante, but he made a good point. They needed to stop Gebel and his demons.

"Dante." Johannes said with determination in his eyes. "Will you and Miriam put an end to this terror?"

"Well, I did say that hunting down demons was my job." Dante said.

"Thank you, Dante." Johannes said happily.

"No problem Johannes." Dante said. "But I need to know where is the Alchemy guild."

"The alchemy guild disbanded 10 years ago." Johannes answered. "I'm the last member."

'Great.' Dante thought sarcastically.

"If you need some more answers about the alchemy guild, then you can ask me at my workshop." Johannes said.

"I'll also be at my own workshop too." Dominque said.

Dominque and Johannes went downstairs and began setting up their work shop leaving Dante and Miriam at the table.

"Dante, there something I want to ask about your dimension magic." Miriam said.

"What do want to know about it?" Dante asked.

"Whenever you access your dimension, it feels like I can open it too." Miriam said.

'Hmm. If she feels like she can open my dimension in where I can keep my weapons then that must mean that the crystallization of her skin might have given some magic powers that some extraordinary demons are capable of' Dante thought.

"Miriam can you do magic like this?" Dante asked as he opened his palm forward and allowed bright red particles to flow from his hand.

"Yes." Miriam answered as she opened her palm and displayed bright white particles out of her hand.

"I think that I may have an idea." Dante said. "Hold my hand."

"What?" Miriam said.

"Our powers will need to connect in order to make this work." Dante said.

Miriam was feeling quite nervous. She wasn't use to holding other people's hands. But she moves her arm and started holding Dante hand. She felt a strange power surge through her. She couldn't describe, but it wasn't painful compared to getting stabbed a shard. It was painless and she felt she earned a new power even if the power wasn't made for combat.

"It's done." Dante said.

"What did you do?" Miriam asked.

"Your magic power had the capability of accessing my personal dimension where I keep my weapons and other things. I just gave you access to do it." Dante said.

Dante picked up his tea and drank it in one gulp. He gave the empty cup to Miriam.

"Try putting this cup in my dimension." Dante instructed. "You can do that by concentrating your magic with my dimension which is like opening a door to another room.

Miriam took the cup followed Dante instructions. She found it was quite easy as she put the cup in Dante personal dimension. She also found it easy to take out stuff when she accessed his dimension to take out the cup.

"That was easy." Miriam said. "I can now use this to hold my weapons, books, loot, bullets and so on."

"That fine." Dante said. "This is the first time I actually got to work with a partner who's good looking and wasn't trying to shoot me in the face the first time we met. Also don't try to eat my food either."

Miriam face was little red when Dante called her good looking but also look at him puzzlingly when he said that people were trying to shoot him in the face.

"Miriam, you're still holding my hand." Dante said.

Miriam let go of his hand of started to look away in embarrassment. Dante got up from his chair and put Rebellion on his back. He began to go downstairs to ask Johannes about the Alchemy guild and where did the demons come from. Miriam was right behind bringing all the cups downstairs hoping she can find a clean water source to wash them.
