Two eggs begin to hatch, with tiny claws scratching through the shells. We can hear the hatchlings' heartbeats. In the second egg, a brown eye peeks out.

An enormous dinosaur foot comes down with a loud thud. However, we then tilt up to reveal the foot is actually that of an ordinary bird. It chirps, flaps its wings and flies away.

Peach is in the driveway of a two-story suburban home loading luggage into the back of a Nissan minivan. She turns and yells up at the house.

"Boys, let's do this!"

In his room, Shy Guy is looking at slides of Yoshisaurs on his Viewmaster toy. He sees an Allosauryoshus fighting a Triceratyoshi, then two Ray Harryhausen-animated Ceratoyoshis fighting in a scene from The Animal World. His room is filled with Yoshisaur and monster movie toys and posters. There's a knock on the door.

(Through the door) "Shy Guy?" Peach asked.

Peach enters the room.

"Honey, what're you doin'? What is this here?"

She takes the Viewmaster away from him.

"Let's go. Come on, honey your flight's in two hours." Peach said.

She begins to count his things.

"Dane County Airport is thirty-six minutes away, sixty with traffic." Shy Guy replied.

"How many minutes to get your little butt in the van?" Peach asked sarcastically.

She smiles. Her son smiles back.

"Hmm? How many of those?" Peach asked concerned.

She grabs his bag and they walk out together.

"Feed the monster under your bed?" She asked.

"Yes." Shy Guy said.

Shy Guy comes charging out the front door of the house a minute later and runs obliviously past his older brother Toad and his gf, Toadette.

"Call me every day. And text me pics so I don't forget what you look like." Toadette replied.

Peach comes out of the house.

"I'll only be gone a week." Toad said.

In the driver's seat of the van, Toadsworth, Shy Guy and Toad's father, looked impatient and unamused.

"Toad, you're not goin' off to war, here. Please. Come on." Toadsworth said.

Toad and Toadette stare into one another's eyes.

"I-" Toad couldn't finish what he was saying.

Toadette interrupted.

"I love you." She said.

"Will see you later." Toad said.

She grins at his apparent inability to tell her he loves her.

"Vamanos!" Toadsworth exclaimed.

"Bye, okay?" Toad said, annoyed.

"Bye." Toadette said.

Toad runs to the van as his father starts up the engine.

"Comin' buddy?" Peach asked Toad.

Toad's girlfriend waves to him. Everyone except her gets into the van. Peach and Toadsworth turn and look at their boys in the backseat, particularly the sullen Toad.

"I know it hurts, sweetheart." Peach tried to reassure him.

"Are you going to be okay?" Toadsworth teased.

Toad responds by putting his headphones on.

Dane County Airport

Christmas music plays. The Shrooms are saying goodbye to their sons at the gate to get on the plane. Peach is going over the plane ticket with Shy Guy.

"Everything right on there?" Peach asked.

Shy Guy nods.

"I'm so jealous. You're gonna have so much fun." Peach replied.

Her smile and pleasant demeanor seem a little forced.

"I love you." Peach said.

"I love you too." Shy Guy said.

He hugs her. The hug lasts a little too long. Something isn't quite right. While hugging his mother, Shy Guy looks over at his father, and Toadsworth seems a little uncomfortable and manages a small smile.

"Okay. Right. They stopped hugging finally. All right, um, let's give these to your brother, okay?" Peach asked.

She turns to hand the tickets to Toad. He isn't paying attention. He has the hood of his jacket up over his head and his headphones blasting music into his ears.

"Can you hold these, please?" Peach asked.

"Toad!" Toadsworth yelled.

"Can you hold these? Honey, I need you to take care of these." Peach replied.

Finally, Toad notices and accepts them indifferently.

"Yeah." Toad answered.

"Hey." Toadsworth said, trying to get Toad's attention.

"All right." Peach said.

"Listen to your mother." Toadsworth replied.

"Take care of your brother, answer your phone. I'm serious. It's the green button. When you see my name, push it, okay?" Peach said sternly.

Toad nods absently.

"And remember, if something chases you...
(she pauses for dramatic effect)
...run." Peach said.

Shy Guy smiles.

"Come on." Peach said apologetically.

"Yeah, you're funny." Toad smiles halfheartedly.

"Come on, let's go." Toad told Shy Guy.

He ushers Shy Guy along as they head to the plane.

"Bye, guys." Peach said as she waved.

"Bye." Toad said.

"I miss you already!" Peach cried.

"Yep." Toad said, unamused.

Once the boys are gone, the two adults drop the act, their attitudes becoming cold.

"So much for our last family breakfast..." Toadsworth complained.

"Why do you have to say things like that?" Peach asked, annoyed.

Shy Guy waves goodbye as he and Toad head through the gate to board.

"Did you call your sister?" Toadsworth asked.

"Straight to voicemail." Peach replied.

"They'll be fine. She handles twenty-thousand people a day. She can handle two more." Toadsworth said.
